] Elinenna Kanduur Full Name • Elinenna Kanduur Nickname • Eli Race • Human Birthplace • Metellos Age • 24 Gender • Female Sexuality • Bisexual Faction • Republic Concept • 1st lieutenant, Tank commander Languages • Basic Assets • Outside of her republic issued uniforms and equipment Elinenna owns very little when she shipped out her entire life's possessions fit in two small duffle bags. Outside of clothing and a small number of other small personal effects, the one notable possessions she owns is an old worn down stuffed rabbit toy and a small ragged dog-eared journal she typically carries on her person. In the field she wears a very stripped down version of the standard republic T-27 Valiant armor consisting of the body glove lightened cuirass and helmet as well as a lighter carbine variant of the R-22 Javelin blaster rifle with a light optical sight and under barrel fragment launcher. The most noticeable piece of her equipment is Raven 1 her MT-34 A1 Titan Main battle tank nicknamed "Regina" which has a standard turret with its defensive turrets removed in favor of a larger twin heavy blaster cannon turret in the front and a large concussion grenade launcher at the rear. Additional modifications include a hull-mounted plow dozer blade, additional applique armor, and a heavy duty rear tow winch. Appearance Face Claim • Mokoto Kusanagi Height & Weight • 5' 10" & 181lbs Overall Looks • By most standards Elinenna is a beautiful young woman whose pale pink irises and shortcut purple hair is the only indication of a small amount of Zeltron blood somewhere in her ancestry. She posses pale porcelain skin and sharp delicate features along with a small nose, sparse eyebrows, sharp clear eyes, and small pale peach colored lips. Her general continence is typically that of sharp focus. Physically Elinenna is a tall woman with a modest bust and hourglass shaped profile. Sticking as she does to a strict work out regime her body has been toned into a runner's physique and is quite muscular with the faint outline of hard muscle faintly visible across her body. Not known for any particular fashion sense Eli dresses for comfort to the exclusion of anything else and typically wears shorts or leggings and a midriff-baring tank top. She does have something of a signature piece of clothing though regularly being seen wearing a slightly faded Alderaan military institute hoodie. Her clothing is typically topped off with a pair of short heeled hiking style boots or athletic shoes. Personality Profile Elinenna is almost the perfect embodiment of a soldier, intelligent, driven, protective, and loyal almost to a fault. Kind, but typically cold and often unsociable Elinenna has always had few friends and her thick emotional walls make it difficult for others to become close to her. An avid reader since childhood and having picked up a habit of journaling in her teens Eli is rarely seen without a book or datapad in her hands during the off hours. Less commonly known is her fondness for cooking and baking or her love for risque fiction and chocolate through the cookies regularly fond around barracks not to mention in the rest of raven platoon's tanks mean that at the very least the former is suspected by her platoon mates. Background Father • Unknown Mother • Jasmine Kanduur, 32, prostitute {Deceased} Other Important Connections • Thomas Vandic, 43, Republic recruitment officer Marrian Withers, 25, Technical officer Overall History • Elinenna knows next to nothing about her mother and is completely ignorant of who her father may be. Her mother was a prostitute who went by Jasmine and like most of the poor souls living in Metellos' crowded dirty slums almost no record of the woman exists beyond her death report and the paperwork turning the infant over to the Lynia home for abandoned children. Eli as a child sometimes resented her mother for abandoning her, but as she grew older and learned what little could be gleaned about her mother and the cityscape outside of Lynia's walls she eventually became grateful to the dying woman who moved who knows how far across the dangerous underbelly of Metellos to ensure she could have the best start in life an orphan could probably hope for. Eli was a quiet withdrawn child who rarely played with the other orphans and was often ignored by potential adopters. This also led to a series of short unsuccessful adoptions in her early childhood until by the age of eight inquiries into adopting the blank-faced child slowed to a trickle and then eventually stopped. As a child, she spent hours quietly reading and isolating herself from the other children and occasionally helping the home's kitchen staff. Elinenna was a popular child with the staff of the home being quiet and happy to help with chores around the facility. The kitchen staff allowed her to regularly nick sweets from the home's kitchen and she was known to hide them around the home for younger children to find. Another place that she stood out in was academics where she regularly set at the top of her class in scores. When she was nearing her thirteenth birthday Elinenna would have the encounter that would shift her life. Eli was immediately enamored with the man's bright red uniform and bright shiny rank emblems. Master Sergeant Thomas Vandic commanded the local republic recruiting office and had volunteered to visit the orphanage at the faculty's request. The young starry-eyed girl snuck into the room the NCO was talking to the boys in and listened in rapt attention as he answered their questions and did a presentation. She decided practically on the spot that day that she wanted to be the person in the pictures and the uniform. The young teen spent the next few months reading anything and everything she could find in the facility's library about the republic and it's military even using up all of her precious limited holonet access on it. It was also around this time that Elinenna starting increasing her activity levels eventually getting to the point where she would spend up to an hour a day stretching, jogging, and doing other limited endurance building exercise. Though concerning to some of the staff of the orphanage most thought the girl would simply lose interest in the idea as a thirteen-year-old is want to do that, however, didn't happen. When Sgt. Vandic returned to the facility a few weeks before Elinenna's fourteenth birthday she was one of first to enter the small room set aside for impromptu holo nights. The youngest in the room by far Sgt. Vandic gave the girl a warm smile and politely answered her questions while he was impressed with her knowledge he assumed based on what some of the carers had told him about the teens he met and her young age that he likely wouldn't see the teen again. Six months later there he was again with the purple-haired girl watching him from the front row. This time Vandic pulled the girl aside to meet with her privately as he typically did with those old enough to be within a few months of potentially enlisting. Thomas spent nearly an hour with Elinenna that day and impressed with the girl's passion, and seemingly satisfied with her answers, he promised to meet with her again in a few weeks. When he returned at the end of the month he offered Eli a position in a newly formed young cadet program Thomas helped run out of the area's recently decommissioned PDF barracks. Although it would mean leaving the only home she'd ever known Elinenna wasn't about to miss the opportunity and immediately agreed. Two months later the newly minted Cadet Kanduur was standing in a rough tan jumpsuit lined up in front of sparse cots along with three dozen other mostly older teens. The first few weeks saw that number drop quickly down to less than two dozen as many of the cadets coming originally from what amounted to Metellos' aristocracy balked at the austerity of living an approximation of military life for Eli other than the loss of free time the conditions weren't that different than those at the orphanage and if she was, to be honest, the bed was actually better. She did, however, miss the staff while the tutors and trainers at the base weren't unfriendly the younger military officers and staff were still very different to the kindly older men and women who taught and worked at different positions at Lynia. A mix between an ROTC program and boarding school cadets spent most of their days in classes not too dissimilar to students at any normal school albeit one with a five in the morning start time and significantly more time spent in PE. The exception to this through the week was the two hours before and an hour after five o'clock dinner where cadets were put through simplified versions of military drills and skills. The cadets were given the remaining time until lights out a ten to their own devices though often much of this time was spent with the cadets studying and finishing class work. Typically weekends saw an abbreviated few hours in the morning before cadets were required to carry out assigned tasks and had planned trips out of the compound in the afternoons visiting some of the local stores and typically wrapping up at a local cafe where the cadets packed the arcade while the chaperones rechanged on cheap strong coffee. Eli rarely joined the excursions while she received some credits as part of a tuition set up they didn't amount to much and she typically only followed along once every few months instead she typically filled her weekends with extra chores and luxuriating in the few quite peaceful times in the barracks. One weekend a month the staff took the cadets out for "survival" training really glorified camping trips in one of the larger parks on Metellos. Her life continued in this routine for the next few years broken up only by short visits back to the orphanage as she neared adulthood. Eli had already decided she wanted to attend an officer academy and true to her own high aspirations her first choice was the prestigious school for mechanized warfare on Alderaan. Some of the other instructors tried to encourage the woman to set her sights lower, despite being top of her year's cadets competition for the institute was fierce and even more so for the small number of available full scholarships, still, Elinenna wouldn't be dissuaded albeit after agreeing to send an application to the academy on Fondor and Metello's own military academy. While the short perfunctory acceptance letter from Metello's Hallint officer's academy was largely expected as most of the cadets that chose to apply for academy there were accepted getting an acceptance letter from the Fondor Royal Academy was rather rarer. Eli can still clearly remember the cool wet morning Master Sergeant Vandic arrived at Lynia where she was spending the few months between graduation and shipping off to whichever school she chose to attend. Over the years Sgt. Vandic had become quite fond of the girl he considered his star pupil even personally helping her fill out her applications and giving her a glowing recommendation letter a copy of which she still keeps neatly folded up in a pocket in the front sleeve of her journal to this day. His grin was enormous when he handed her the plain envelope addressed to her she can vaguely remember him congratulating her as she read the first line of the letter as well as several staff members crowding around her. She remembers crying much more clearly as she delicately clenched the acceptance letter and scholarship approval from the Alderaan academy between her hands. A month later Elinenna was boarding a transport heading for Alderaan wearing the nicest clothes he'd ever owned; a kind parting gift from the staff of the orphanage, along with Mr. Vandic who had decided to take it upon himself to ensure she had an escort to the school. She's sure she made a bit of a fool of herself on the trip to Alderaan having never been on a starship before. The academy it turned out was probably the nicest place she'd ever stepped into and surrounded as she was mostly by the sons and daughters of the political and military elite she'd have to admit she felt out of place at the beginning, but having come this far she was hardly going to spit on the opportunity due to some awkward insecurity. Her roommate is an open cheery type along with the academy keeping much of the same organization of the cadet program did help her settle down into a normal level of awkwardness. With a great deal of prodding from her roommate Marrian, Eli began to even have something of a social life at the academy even if some of Marrian's more outgoing friends questioned why she dragged the "quite weirdo" to some of their parties at least until the Marrian accidentally let slip that the cookies typically found sitting in the dorm common room come Saturday morning came from Elinenna taking the opportunity to use the dorm's small kitchen while most of the students were off elsewhere; it took a few days for Eli to forgive her for that, but it certainly helped her image some. In her second year, Marrian finally managed to get her to try out for the track and field team she was a member of. All in all her time in the academy was probably better for her social life and bringing a bit of charisma to the young woman than it was for her career prospects and it was great for them. Graduating second overall in her class and having a nearly spotless record Eli had about as close to free choice in her career path as anyone can half in the military and she shocked several of the evaluators when she requested placement in the armored calvary program instead of the technical and rear echelon duties most graduates in her position requested. Truth be told it took little effort to convince the placement staff as competition by graduates for active combat roles was typically limited. This decision did ensure that she wouldn't continue along with Marrian who over the years had become a close friend and eventual romantic partner for Eli, but she was determined to join the cavalry and while they both agreed to keep in contact this decision did squash their romantic relationship, as well as invariably, caused a certain distance in their previously close relationship. Specialised training took nearly two years before she went up to active duty. LT. Kanduur's first posting was the command of a small two-man armored recon vehicle. Eli, however, was only in the recon company for half a year before being promoted to 1st lieutenant and being placed in command of a platoon of the small six-wheeled recon vehicles. It's only been the last fourteen months that Eli was transferred to the newly formed twenty-fourth armored division and placed in command of the tanks of the third platoon. |
