He has the strong jaw and dimpled chin that give him away as atristicratic stock, though his slightly crooked nose adds a dash of roguish intrigue. His eyes are hazel with lids that always seem to have that “I haven’t slept” dark look to them. When cut, he wears his curly black hair somewhat short on the sides and longer on top, allowing the curls to fall messy. Though he will often allow his hair to grow longer and shaggy before taming it once again. He tends to grow his sideburns long and can often be seen with a five o’clock shadow. Eamon loves good clothes. He can often be seen in vests, ties, and jackets, all worn with a casual sloppiness that makes high fashion look easy. His smooth, pale skin is flawless and Eamon has no intentions of marring it any time soon Personality Profile Eamon is an intelligent man with the tendency to become obsessive, almost to the point of mania. He will often fixate on a problem and forego food, sleep, and hygiene until he has riddled it out. Afterwards, Eamon will ride the high of discovery, overindulging in pleasures for days, sometimes weeks on end. This will eventually cycle into a kind of depression where Eamon is lethargic and irritable until he finds a new problem to solve. Because of this cycle of ups and downs, Eamon has an addiction to alcohol, cigs, and other substances. Eamon has little patience for stupid people and often deals with such using a tactic he refers to as “aggressive politeness” which he picked up from his youth in the aristocratic circles his family was a part of. And while Eamon is loathe to give up the fashion and creature comforts of such a station, he prefers to “slum it” with stimulating people who are not from the same world. In essence, he likes to be the fanciest boy in the bunch. Background Father • Alastar Nador III, 84, Nobleman Mother • Catriona Nador, 57, Noblewoman Siblings • Alastar Nador IV, 62, Half-brother, Nobleman and heir to House Nador Mannix Nador, 60, Half-brother, Nobleman Tierney Highwatch, 54, Half-sister, Noblewoman Rowan Greelin, 51, Half-sister, Noblewoman Kieron Nador, 45, Half-brother, Rear Admiral Orrin Geldhouse, 40, Bastard half-brother, Merchant Norah Quinn, 35, Sister, Philanthropist Other Important Connections • name, age, occupation (if applicable), relation to character (cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. as well as pets, close friends, or significant others) Overall History • Catriona was not Alastar's first wife, nor his second. Younger than her husband's two oldest children, it was no secret why she married the much older man. Catriona was the daughter of a very minor noble, looking to raise her station. She had no illusions of love in marriage. She wanted a certain lifestyle, and Alastar wanted another wife. His first had died of a series of chronic medical problems. His second in an unfortunate accident. The mother of his only publicly recognized bastard wanted nothing to do with him. Catriona would likely be Alastar's last good chance for a few more children. Not that Alastar was particularly invested in the children themselves. He was more interested in what he considered to be his grand legacy. It was all something of a grotesque game he played on the other noble houses. Polite as they were to him in public, Alastar knew that he was not much liked among his peers. His revenge, then, would be to ensure that as much of his "stock" as possible, would continue in the generations to come. Corellia, then, would never be rid of House Nador. Growing up in such an environment infused Alastar's children with an ironic combination of extreme privilege and a casual disdain for the society that provided it to them. Civil sarcasm and aggressive politeness would become a trademark of their ilk, even more so for Alastar's grandchildren. Eamon, being younger than a few of his own nieces and nephews, spent more of his formative years among them than his own siblings. The only exception to this was his full blood sister Norah, but she was the black sheep of the family -as straight an arrow as could ever be conceived- and had little patience for the more rambunctious nature of her kin. This all culminated for Eamon in a sense of being a part of, and apart from, everyone in his life. He was a part of Alastar's true-born brood of children, but he was apart from them due to their age difference. He was a part of his nieces and nephews peer groups by age, but apart from them as technically being from a senior generation. He was a part of Corellian nobility, but apart from it due to his family's reputation. Eamon seemed to take all of this in stride, however, growing to be only averagely cynical by his family's standards and possessed of what they considered only a mild substance abuse problem. The strange style of isolation his life afforded him actually provided Eamon with the opportunity to discover one of his two greatest passions in life, genetics. Having always been a bright mind, and having absolutely no pressures or real expectations placed upon him, Eamon was free to pursue any educational paths that caught his eye. For a time in his early teens, Eamon considered channeling his angst through poetry or art, but found himself bored by his own dark moods and musings and left those hobbies to be embarrassing footnotes to his pubescent years. He could not, however, shake his curiosity over why he and his family were so often such pessimistic people. This eventually led to genealogy research which then turned toward the more scientific study of his own genetics. When he exhausted that curiosity, his obsession spread to genetics of other species, and how the genetics of various species changed over time, until several years and several degrees later, Eamon found himself in the rather niche field of xenopaleogenetics. The problem, for Eamon, proved to be that his work was not continuous. He worked in projects that would sometimes have long dry spells between them in which he would become quite idle. The longer he went between projects, the deeper he would fall into a death spiral of alcohol and drugs. So, he tries his best to keep busy. |
