Appearance Face Claim • Morgan "Emblu" Crabtree. Height & Weight • 172 cm. 58 kg. Overall Looks • Like her species, Rahebi looks like a human. The only thing about her that sticks out as alien is her vivid emerald green eyes, like that of no human being. Her blood is made from chlorophyll components of same colour, which becomes visible if she blushes, is exhausted or gets hurt. Uniquely her skin doesn’t have any body hair. Rahebi’s complexion is very light, usually accompanied by a bunch of freckles in sun-rich environments. Her hair has a life of its own. No matter how much time she tries to tame it, the structure of the autumnal-orange hair always seems to get in the way. Accepting her fate, she keeps it low maintenance, going no further than combing her fingers through it in the morning. The result is a thick mane of unkept curls that flows freely, long enough to cover her chest. Her frame is slender with a low body fat percentage, and even though her teenage years soon are passed, the Zelosian woman never developed more than subtle curves of the feminine form. The ones she has, she however cherishes, as she enjoys feminizing her garments and general appearance. Contrary to the philosophy of the Jedi, Rahebi doesn’t like the meek standard apparel, as she finds it without personality. To fight this, she has acquired small statement pieces to stand out from the dull robe, such as a golden septum piercing she never removes and a copper choker with little symbols carved into it. She has modified her standard tunic as well by cutting the sleeves of. If she can get away with it, she will wear civilian clothing, since she finds it more comfortable: The only pair she has is a t-shirt and shorts. Rahebi never wears shoes unless necessary. She finds that it creates a better connection with her surroundings. Personality Profile There is no in-between with Rahebi. Either you meet the personification of pure joy and blue skies, much to the irritability or love of her surroundings, or you find her inhabiting a sadness as if the world is about to come to an end. Rahebi is a natural empath, and a sensitive one at that. She experiences the world in all its aspects very intensely. All her life she has always had a strong connection and love for people around her, and she doesn’t manage to close off for the many impressions she experiences. As a result, she sometimes has problems figuring if a feeling is her own or that of someone else. As her connection to the force grew stronger, her emotions didn’t settle down despite meditation and moral teachings, much to the opposite. They only magnified. The little hold she had on them was completely lost, when her Master died, and it has left Rahebi in a purgatory of confusion, chaos, sorrow and anger, partially blaming herself for the incident. It has planted doubt in her being, as she has started to question everything. Including the teachings of the Jedi order… The insecurity of having no clear boundaries anymore, nor anyone close to tell her what to do with the lack of a Master, has caused Rahebi to enter a period of increasingly rebellious comportment, as she seeks to establish her own identity and limitations. She tries to live after a rather optimistic life philosophy, but the recent events have torn her apart between it and what might be the harsh face of reality. Observers will notice that it may take some time for Rahebi to expose herself fully to new people. She has an amazing ability to work as a chameleon and imitate social patterns, so she can thrive in new environments, but that is only a mask. At core she is a very loving young woman with hyperactive tendencies – that likes to talk. A lot! She is deeply motivated by charity and love for others, and she will go far to help someone. Even to the point where it becomes self-destructive, sacrificing her own happiness and well-being in the process to see someone she holds dear with a smile on their face. She is a warm lover, not a fighter by nature, as she doesn’t like disputes and will rather avoid violence if she can talk herself from it. The Zelosian approaches new knowledge with much eagerness, and one of her favourite aspects to study is – people and their sociology: She philosophise and works constantly to understand the world around her, herself and her place in it. To do this, she dives head first in anything that is culturally unique or exhibits a way of thinking different from her own. The Padawan is enamoured with their stories and all the untold ones out there. – She knows the names of many people and memorizes their faces with ease, even though she knows that they would never talk to her, and most of them aren’t aware that she exists, like that of an invisible narrator. And she can’t help but wonder how her life would have turned out if she didn’t have the ability to feel and manipulate the force and lived an ordinary life with ordinary people. It fascinates her how they matter, how even with their minor everyday life, they act and fit together in the pattern of a greater design. When she doesn’t spend her time maintaining the teachings of Ishtar, Rahebi likes to follow trends in fashion magazines and listen to music. That way she isn’t much different from the average young woman Where she differs is the way she works as an information sponge. She has photographic memory and collects knowledge of all kinds. Some more useful than others. As an outcome from this ability, Rahebi has memorized a lot of rules and paragraphs of the Republic, and she has taught herself many languages that weren’t previously available to her. Flora and fauna interests her as well, as she acknowledges that nature represents ¬¬the force in its untamed form, how it’s meant to be, and it calms her. Background Father • Bjerr Terai, biologist. Mother • Belladonna Terai, archaeologist. Other Important Connections • † Overall History • Rahebi doesn’t remember any ties to her family outside of the temple. She wasn’t entrusted personally to the Jedi, but was instead left on the temple stairs in a basket with little to no explanation, besides the emotional trace of mixed feelings that could be sensed by touching the material and no information about the girl. She didn’t show any sign of neglect but appeared well fed and happy, giggling when she was lifted. The apparent parents had made sure that their baby wouldn’t freeze during the night and had cradled her into a loose bundle of wool. A little piece of parchment revealed her name. If there was unravelled any information about them, it wasn’t passed on to Rahebi. Like that, she grew up missing a piece of her history. She couldn’t put it into words, but she always felt different. Static – (Youngling) As a youngling within the Squall clan, Rahebi was a weird child. Her interactions with the other children seemed affected. Almost artificial. She was a very hypersensitive girl with a strong connection to the force, and especially to other living beings. With no natural filter, she was easily overwhelmed by emotions of the other children. Like a disconnected radio signal, the constant emotional static had an unfortunate side effect when Rahebi was together with others: She had problems feeling herself, and thus her perception was confused. At the same time, the little Zelosian experienced a strong need to create friends, but the static affected her interactions with them. Either she became desperate with an extremely brash and forward attitude in her approaches and scarred the other children away, or she had problems figuring how to do and acted passively. In time she watched how the other children had success with their bonding when they approached each other, and she learned to imitate any behavioural pattern that could lead to popularity, no matter how natural it felt to her. However, the static didn’t stop. The more people, the louder the static. And her preferred way to cope was to move away from the many confusing impressions, so she could hear and sense herself. She became a very self-willed child that was easily distracted and liked to go her own ways without explanation when it became too much. It was custom for her to go and explore the temple, if a major caregiver wasn’t vigilant around her and failed at paying her any attention. The lacking filter did not only let impressions have a free impact on Rahebi one way, but any accumulating pressure made her lash outwards the other way, as she had problems holding them in. The youngling would be described as one of the difficult children, and to help the caregivers cope with Rahebi, she would be assigned many different fosterers that would try to tame her through her childhood with their different approaches. The constant changing environment didn’t help her. Rather it made her feel uneasy and abandoned. One day, she would find a person she liked that made her calm down. The next day, a familiar face would be gone. Her “naughty” behaviour most often resulted in a lot of extra duties, such as sorting in the Archives, or running around in the yard for an hour under the careful watch of a caregiver. At one point she stopped caring more or less, since she ended up there regardless of if she tried or not. While the Zelosian found it unjustified and annoying, she developed a fondness for going to the Archives. There was a silence from the static, and while she was there, the world opened up in the form of the knowledge she had at hand. Even after the timeout was finished, it was not unusual for Rahebi to lose herself in there for hours. When the static became too much, she sometimes staged a situation that would send her there on purpose. It became her refuge. The negative attention, though a kind of attention, gave Rahebi a large amount of self-doubt. The heavy feeling of being wrong followed her everywhere, like an invisible black dog would follow its owner. And she couldn’t help but be under the impression that she was viewed as the living materialization of everything wrong in the eyes of the Jedi Code. Her need for attachments was wrong. The fact that she cared too much, too genuinely to dissociate herself from the problems of others and let them affect her better judgement – was wrong. In spite of mantras to focus, physical exercises – in certain cases even numbing medication, the static Rahebi experienced persisted as if the ability was fused with her being. Her person, her very existence seemed to be wrong. On Ishtars’ wings - (Padawan) The day Rahebi was chosen to be Ishtars’ apprentice was a central turning point for her. At first, the young girl was insecure towards the Knight. To Rahebi she was just another random face she could place in the pile of passing shadows, and she didn’t take her role as her Padawan seriously. But Ishtar showed to be a patient and quite a talented woman, yet the alternate personality. She recognized pieces of herself within Rahebi and didn’t choose her for her skills, but for the potential she could see within her. With time and with patience, Ishtar managed to peel the many layers of Rahebi that she had built up over years of defence. In many ways, Ishtar saw the Code as incomplete and in certain ways obsolete, as it didn’t include the whole living being. As she got to know Rahebi, she noticed mistaken inclusion with a system that tried to force a square peg into a round hole. That would not make the square a round circle. That would just create a broken square with all its corners smashed of. She didn’t see Rahebis’ fragility as something that needed to change, but rather as a gift that needed careful guidance and acceptance. In this fashion, she offered explanations that Rahebi could relate to and tools rather than strict lines. For the first time, Rahebi started to feel okay instead of defective. With the relief of not being judged, Rahebis’ confidence grew, and the static grew more distant to a point where it was still present, but the Zelosian was able to live with it. Ishtar worked as a beacon in the fog that was Rahebis’ mind and emotions. She became a feminine role model for her and someone she relied heavily on. In some way, she was the parent Rahebi never had. Missing signal ”I have to go to Dromund Kaas, Rahebi. And I’m afraid that today you can’t follow me”. She offered no explanation, but a promise that she would return in a week. When Ishtar left through the door, the Padawan’s stomach knotted together to a lump. The next time Rahebi saw Ishtar - was at her funeral fire. She didn’t experience the event directly, but Rahebi could feel it strongly through the Force, as Ishtars’ life essence drained away. In a time where the Republic and the Empire was supposed to be at peace, the Zelosian didn’t understand anything. It wasn’t necessary. It didn’t respect the treaty. It wasn’t a part of a war. It was coldblooded murder. The passing of Ishtar was toned down to avoid any political stir, much to Rahebis’ frustration. None of her questions could be answered of why and which business Ishtar had when she decided to go there. All that was left was a roaming echo in the Force and even more questions than Rahebi had ever asked when Ishtar was alive. Present After her death, one year passed. Rahebi fell into a deep melancholy. With the great loss of many Jedi during the Battle of Coruscant, there were none to take up the role as her new master, and the Zelosian felt more alone in the world than ever. At the same time Rahebi felt deeply at unease. With no one to answer her questions, no one to truly read her and acknowledge her or to tell her how to be, she is left much to herself. The static returned. With no safety net and guidelines, Rahebi feels that more than ever she has to cross boundaries and shout louder to mute the static. It is up to herself to find and define her own identity in the galaxy. |
