Overall History • Here, weary traveler… A traveler wanders through a cave searching for something, a treasure perhaps, or a interesting tale, which he plans to return home with to share with everyone whom he meets. Instead he finds the remains of a ship that was once thought long lost because the captain had either abandoned it or had died so long ago. The ship was not well known to people, well to some it might have been but to others it was a symbol of a time lost. The man had managed to get the cargo door to open, and the multi-compartment storage area was empty, as if whomever owned it happened to abandon it where it lied. A hologram projector was found sitting in the middle of the room obviously a few years old, and still looked like it had some life to it. He picks it up and turns it on, not knowing what he is about to find is something that is old. A woman, with a black robe and silver lining appears in the middle, and the man stumbles back for a moment. As she extends her hand out to him. “My name is Thora Stormchaser, and you have stumbled upon a ship that my father cared for, and I was the last guardian of it. The Argonaut. If you have found this, then the wreckage you see here was from my last voyage and I am either dead or somewhere outside of this ship. What you have found is my last recorded message, and it contains my life. If you came for a story, then you will be in for one.” The voice said, as it shifted from the woman, to a picture. I was born in the beautiful city, just outside the capital on Corellia. My father worked in the shipping yards, and my mother was a homemaker, taking care of my brother and my sister. I was the youngest of the three, but my mother devoted her time with everyone equally. As I was growing up though, I spent more time with my father, because he was an engineer by trade, and worked on his own little side project when he was at home. I didn’t do much of the work I sat by and watched him work, because that’s what I liked to do. My father would ask me to hand him tools, I did my best and that’s all he ever asked. My mother though, would take us out with her shopping, and would teach us about the different foods, and different things she would buy. I liked learning from a young age, despite that though, I learned the hard way the difference between right and wrong, because I used to be a little trouble maker. I would steal small things, and then my mother would chastise and discipline me for it. That’s not where life tended to get interesting though, I was there when my father died, and I almost died that day myself. We had left on a small voyage to get supplies for the ship, we left the ship outside the city we were visiting, and then the Sith Empire attacked. At first we didn’t know what was happening, just figured there was an earthquake or someone had gotten into a fight not a big deal. Then we came out and seen the soldiers, and we tried to run away from the fight. We weren’t equipped for a battle with the Sith Empire, nor were we there for the trouble that they brought. They managed to catch up to us, and grabbed my father right away, placing both of us on our knees. I looked over at him for a split second, and they took us to where they were holding the other prisoners, and my father tried to run before that, they shot him leaving no chances they shot him again to be certain he was dead. I still mourn my father to this day because I knew I was the last one to see him alive, and I could not go home now to face my mother, my brother and my sister. I got up and tried to run as well, this time though I got hit in the shoulder, and the leg. As I lie there next to him, a person came and pulled me to safety, the soldiers, left my father’s body in the street and thought I had just vanished. The person I didn’t know them, and they didn’t know me, but they risked themselves for me. Later, I came to find out that the person worked for the republic, and I spent my time recovering reading books on piloting, and honing my skills with my father’s ship because I asked that person to help me get to the ship. I knew I had to go out of my way because I wasn’t going to return home. My family would never know what happened that day. I made my way to Nar Shadda to learn the ways of smuggling, and to stay as far away from home. I would send credits anonymously to my mother to help with the others, but even I do not know what has happened with them since that day. I have been focused on building my reputation as a notable smuggler whom gets paid big bucks for taking high value targets and risks. While this all occurred, my real name faded, and I became known as Thora Stormchaser. I owed that person whom saved my life, so I also work for the republic. I am hoping to get the vengeance I seek, because I don’t sleep much anymore. Now you know where I have come from. You know my story, or at least the parts I am willing to tell you, so go now traveler and tell the others of the things you have found. Don’t worry I will wait for others to return to tell my tale once more. |
