New Hutt Government Declared
Supreme Mogul Nemu declared the Hutt Council officially reconvened following a ceremony this morning in Bilbousa on Nal Hutta.
Flanked by his new Hutt councilors and officials from both the Republic and Imperial diplomatic corps, Nemu spoke of the importance of reconstruction and revitalization following Hutt Space's recent liberation from the Archeri Chorus. The ensemble started the ceremony with every foreign representative shaking hands with the Supreme Mogul; an unprecedented sign of respect for any foreign power in Hutt Space, let alone two.
Nemu's speech also mentioned themes of unity and strength. The Supreme Mogul repeatedly mentioned his priority to reconstruct the Hutt fleets and secure Hutt Space following the departure of the Republic and Imperial fleets. Critics have already panned this as an impossibility, as both superpowers have declared move-out dates later this week.
Others have noted the unlikelihood of the Hutts returning to a position of military strength any time soon. Not only would rebuilding such a large fleet require time the Supreme Mogul has not mentioned, but much of the foreign aid Hutt Space is receiving from both the Republic and the Empire is dedicated to economic recovery.
Nemu concluded his statements with a condemnation of what he labeled "opportunist criminal elements", naming in particular the Exchange and the Black Suns. "These vile rats," he shouted, "will seek to keep our space in a state of disrepair. For the good of the galaxy, they must be put down."
Intelligence officials from both the Republic and Empire have confirmed that Nemu's vehemence is fresh off both of the mentioned criminal elements making moves to secure greater power in Hutt Space as it rebuilds. Instability and corruption are expected to persist in the region even if the Hutt fleets are reconstituted.
Regardless, with the government re-established, Republic and Imperial forces are already pulling out of Hutt Space. The last of the armed forces are expected to be back within their respective borders by next week, and all former occupations have been concluded.
