Full Name • Janse Gorbitz Fashad Nickname • Janny (By those trying to tease him) Race • Human Birthplace • Agri-World of Tarka, Capitol city, Estan. Age • 20 Gender • Male Sexuality • Bisexual Faction • Sith Concept • Rank 2/Sith Apprentice, Noble Prince. Languages • Basic Assets • A single, red bladed Lightfoil, a Duranium rapier, and antique heavy blaster pistol, both designed for dueling, as well as anything at his father's discretion. Appearance Height & Weight • 5'11", 135 lbs. Overall Looks • Janse is an average looking human by most definitions were it not for his attitude and attire. He is blonde, average build, with an element of strength to his form. His body has a touch of fine living padding his otherwise strong limbs, as developed muscles lack a bit of definition beneath a healthy diet. This, and soft youthful features are the only things that lack distinction about Janse however, as every other aspect of him is designed to the smallest degree. His clothes are almost entirely white with purple highlights, the colors of his dynasty, saving what he is required to wear by the Sith. Every article of clothing he owns has been designed by the finest tailors to both maximize his comfort as well as display his status to any in his presence, should his upturned nose not do the trick. To this end, he also wears an unadorned silver-metal chain about his neck, a livery collar that not only shows his noble birth on his home planet, but is also styled in such a way that it shows his heritage to those familiar with his world. Finally he wears deep purple leather gloves and boots, both of which he takes great pride in keeping pristine. Personality Profile In attitude, Janse can be either the most loyal underling, or an egotistical jerk dismissive of those he deems beneath his status. His upbringing has taught him not only the importance of social status, but also of honor, something that drives nearly all of his actions. Honor dictates he obey those above his station to the letter, but makes no mention of how to behave towards those beneath yourself. He is formal to a fault in speech, yet dismissive to a dehumanizing degree to those who find themselves in his command or beneath his station. Confidence and ego being hard to differentiate in Janse. To those of even standing as himself, this noble son is personable, even friendly in his speech. This particular social group is the one in which Janse is most comfortable, and rarely around, as he often finds few born of similar standing as himself. Despite this, Janse has the capability to be civil, polite and couth, something his superiors are more likely to see than his subordinates, as he is a practiced noble to his core. Dismissive, polite, and quick to anger, Janse is a haughty, highborn boy with, possibly, a bigger head than he has earned. Background Father • Venitza Ulthwan Fashad III, 39, Planetary Lord of Tarka. Mother • Arriza Lika Fashad, 38, Designated Regent of Tarka Siblings • Hari Lika Fashad, 18, Heiress to the City of Estan Other Important Connections • Various and numerous family connections to other nobility scattered in the outer rim. Overall History • Janse Gorbitz Fashad was born the first son and child to the ruling couple of Tarka, and the heir to the Fashad dynasty. Having been born before the war between the Republic and Sith, Janse's latent Force Affinity, which was discovered during routine medical examination shortly after his birth, was ignored. When the Jedi arrived for the infant child, his family refused to release him to the Order, he was far more important to them as the Fashad heir. When the Sith came much later however, this was given a second thought as they stated they had no intention of keeping him from his birthright, something the senior Fashad patriarch then found to be of use to his dynasty. From the time of his birth to the age of seventeen, Janse would simply be Prince-Governor of Tarka. This lofty status was hammered into his head from the day he could understand basic, as his education, his social interactions, even his nannies spoke to this. By all rights Janse was prince wherever he went. To this toddling child, servants knelt, and shopkeepers provided wares upon requested, knowing the government would pay his way without question, and punish them should they refuse. This, understandably, gave this boy an immediate feeling of self importance, and superiority to those around him, yet all was not sunshine and rainbows of rule for this child. To live up to his ancestry, Janse was forced to learn the rigorous customs of noble diplomacy on his home. He learned the exact etiquette for each bow depending on a persons status, which address was acceptable in which circumstance, and even the exact time to conduct and handshake with a fellow. His education was filled with these bits of decorum, as well as the usual knowledge taught under a more ordinary tutelage, under penalty of punishment. Janse flourished under these studies, even coming to enjoy the minutia of them as he learned. It was during this time that Janse met the boy who would become his best friend, another young noble named Asoman. Asoman was a lesser noble of a more remote city on Tarka, Nikamedia. Nikamedia, unlike Janse's home of Estan, was a poorer city, one not blessed with the good soil so prevalent on Tarka that had made it such a florishing Agri-world, and it's ruling family were among the least wealthy on the planet. As such, even though Asoman was of the same status as Janse, he never had access to the finery or regalia that his fellow student did. This did not impede their friendship however, as the two grew quite close over the years of their education. From cooperative pranks on their instructors, to escapades into the city, the two were inseparable. It was only when they reached maturity that the cracks of their differences began to show. All while the two had been romping around the Capitol, resistance had begun to brew on the planet, specifically in Asoman's home province of Nikamedia, for not all was well on Tarka. The laboring class, that did not enjoy the fruits of their work, had begun to grow rebellious under the iron hand of Janse's father, and even had some limited support among the ruling class eager to replace the Fashad dynasty with their own. This came to a head when Asoman's father engaged in a full blown uprising against Janse's father, pulling the pair of friends to either side of the conflict as heirs to warring Governors. This was when the young Fashad Prince finally came to understand his station, for it would not be his father that lead the armies in the field, the danger was too great to risk the ruler, it would be Janse. And Janse hated warfare. With his formal tutelage complete, now came his informal one. He was to put down a revolt, learn to lead men, and figure out how to prevent such a conflict in the future. Yet, unlike during his schooling, Janse did not perform well in this. Despite his former friend leading the opposing armies much of the time, the Fashad heir had learned little of the humanity present within those of lower status than himself, and was utterly brutal, both to his own men fighting for their Governor, and the opposition facing them. Janse, seeing his own men as little more than peasants who could easily be replaced, had no issue sending them eagerly, and often, to their deaths in suicidal charges on enemy positions, all in the pursuit of appeasing his father. The war was bloody, and poorly managed, with two young heirs acting as generals for armies that were poorly trained, but eventually one side won out. The loyalists. Summary executions were common in the war for the traitors, and Janse never had problems with them. They were simply peasants after all; ones who had the gall to challenge their rightful leaders, but when the rebellion crumbled and it came time to end those who had lead the revolt, Janse found himself having to order the executions of Asoman, and his family. To this, he refused, and offered the family safe haven under his banner. Janse, thinking little of their motives, or even their actions, happily ate meals with the family, laughing and joking as if everything that had happened, was just a squabble between friends, something that would age into a joke with time, but his guests were less warm, even grim, during these elaborate victory dinners. They knew it would not last. When Governor Fashad heard what Janse had done, he came personally to order his son to do what had to be done. This was the moment the reality of rule was set for Janse. Everything had been an adventure, a fancy story for Janse filled with laughs and having things his way, but when his father arrived and re-imprisoned his friend, he got a reality check. Janse was not only forced to attend the following execution of the people he had nights before been sharing food with, he was forced to give the order. All the while, the senior patriarch repeated to Janse, "You must not be the weak. Link." Words that would echo through Janse for years to come. With hot tears on his cheeks, and a quivering youthful voice, he ordered deaths just like so many times before. But this time it hurt. From this pain came resolve however, as Janse sought to justify his actions. He would not be the weak link, that meant he had to kill Asoman, that meant he was beneath Janse, that meant killing him was right and just. He would not be the weak link. Janse became rigid in his dedication to his family, because he had to. The young Fashad, unable to face his actions and their wider implications, dove into his role, his status. He took on the task of rebuilding from the conflict, and was equally efficient, and brutal as he was given command of a team of engineers. Lives were lost in the effort, and somewhere deep in Janse's mind, something hurt for every one. But Janse would spare them no thought, and thankfully, around this time, the Sith arrived. A file was found, and Janse's latent affinity for the force was uncovered by the Sith, who now sought to induct him into their ranks. Unlike the Jedi however, Janse would be able to retain his position as heir to Tarka. So, eager to leave this place, and the long banished memories that still seemed to stab him, Janse, and his parents agreed. Now twenty years old, and a long time student within the Sith, Janse seeks to maintain his honor, and bring further power and prestige to his lineage, through whatever honorable means he can. He is currently awaiting a master to take him on as an apprentice. |
