At a baseline, however, it is uniformly onyx-black in colouration and covers the entire body. An optional helmet, the design of which is up to the wearer, affixes to hardpoints around the torso's collar. The picture above is the personal armor of Darth Viren, a custom design that incorporates many traditional aesthetics associated with the ancient Sith Warriors such as a blood red facemask. Function The Krayt-class Assault Armor is a top-of-the-line defensive system that is designed to afford the wearer supreme, if cumbersome and conspicuous protection during the heat of all-out war, inspired by the Beskar'gam of Mandalorian warriors. It is a favorite of Praetors in the Sith Order's Cult of Strife. To this end, it is manufactured with these capabilities: Defenses: Duraplast-phrik alloy construction affords the armor first-grade defensive qualities at reduced weight; it can withstand repeated punishment up to and including direct hits from heavy repeating blaster rifles, light grenades, shatter guns, and other anti-infantry weapons. It is even highly resistant to blows from more exotic weapons such as lightsabers and vibroweapons. The reinforced duraplast in the alloy affords it good protection against ion weaponry and EMPs. The suit is hard-sealed and equipped with a climate control system that allows its wearer to survive in extreme weather conditions, such as lethal heat or cold, for up to 3 hours. Oxygen recyclers within the suit allow the wearer to survive in a vacuum for up to 30 minutes unaided. Helmet: The removeable helmet contains a customizable heads-up-display that provides a wealth of information on armor power supply, atmospheric conditions, physical condition, structural integrity of the armor, and distance to a pre-defined objective through uplink to an orbital satellite. The helm contains a built-in communications device that can be tuned to any receiver, and coded to specific encrypted frequencies as to avoid interception. Filters within the mask render any and all inhalant toxins inert, and can extract oxygen from hostile environments. The viewports possess electrobinocular magnification up to 3x, and have limited night vision capabilities. Sonic dampeners near the ears provide protection from sound-based weaponry.  Body: Inter-locking servos join together at each of the suit's key joints, including; elbows, shoulders, knees, hips, ankles, wrists. These powered actuators provide the wearer with sufficiently augmented physical capacity to offset the armor's considerable weight by providing superior freedom of movement when compared to other full body armor. However, its weight and generally bulky construction are still troublesome to bypass unless the wearer is sufficiently strong already. Power: Normally, the power cell-based energy system is self sustaining and requires no charging. However, extensive field operation, battle, and general wear can cause system degradation over a period of time. Additionally, a strong enough direct hit from a sufficiently volatile source can compromise the power grid, resulting in nigh-immediate shutdown excepting a 60 second emergency battery. This weakness is somewhat compensated for by duraplast's natural EMP-resistant qualities.
