Time period: 6 months ago Location: Ruusan Participants: Tsubasa Arus(me) and Ashla Drexdell (Kiala) Other Info: Nah
{A bit short... Just trying to get the ball rolling}
The Vagabond fell out of hyperspace over the world of Ruusan. Tsubasa sighed, leaning back in his chair in the cockpit of the vessel. He glanced at the woman that sat next to him out of the corner of his eye as he guided the ship down to Ruusan's surface. Ashla, he thought. They'd traveled together for some time, after discovering that their teachers had known each other a while ago. She was a Matukai, as was he--one of the group of Force sensitive warriors that focused on the Force through their bodies. For a time, all had been well. They got along well at first, and secretly, foolishly, even, Tsu had harbored thoughts of love. But, it had become clear quickly enough such things weren't meant to be. They were too different. He was cocky, and quick to act, whereas she was more reserved, and not one to fight easily. It had strained things between them, and had only grown worse as time passed. Tsu often found himself wondering how long they'd be traveling together if things kept up as they were. But what would be would be.
"Well, we're here," he said to her as he guided the ship down to land in a clearing by a small village. His amber eyes turned to look at regard her as he spoke. She was small, Tsu didn't doubt that those that did not know her might think her frail, or weak. But seeing her in action and numerous sparring sessions had told him that she was anything but that. She was fierce, and a gifted warrior, and it took a lot to make Tsu think that about someone. "What is it we're here for, exactly?" It had been her idea to come to Ruusan. He just piloted the ship.

Ashla sat in the co-pilot chair, going through landing procedure. She sensed Tsu's eyes on her as always. She sighed inwardly. He was such an infuriating individual. They were polar opposites. She was calm, composed and serious. He was cocky, arrogant and head strong. Why did he have to be some damned handsome. They're masters had trained under the same master.
They had met because of they're master's. Had decided to travel together for a time. And so they had for well over a year, nearly a year and a half. It had been fun at first. On more than one occasion shey had gotten into a spot of trouble. They handled it as they were trained to do. But one problem remained. She tried to avoid fights, where as he seemed to go out of his way to get into them. She had even had to use the blade of her wan-shen, and once it left the safety of it's shieth, blood 'had' to be spilled, and spill it she did. It was this that had caused the tension between them of late. To think she had once had romantic notions about this man.
As the ship landed, he saked her why they were there. She looked at the village. It was here she had been born. From here she had come. She didnt remember any of it. She had been taken to an orphanage in Olmondo. Her parents had died, and there had been no one to take care of her. She turned to Tsu, her eye's calm and serious, but to those that know her. As only Tsu and her Master knew her. They're was a small degree of fear--"I was born here".-- She paused for a moment, her eye's a mystery--"I want to know if anyone here can tell me anything about my parents. I would like to know."--She didn't say anymore, simply got up and headed for the ramp.

Tsu sighed at Ashla's answer. So they'd be looking into her past. Interesting. He sat there a moment longer after she left so he could think. He remembered some things about his own upbringing, before his mentor--a Cerean by the name of Barsavi--took him away to learn the ways of the Matukai. He hailed from Fondor, though he hadn't seen his family since he left all those years ago. All those years ago, he thought with a bit of a smirk. Come on, Tsu, you're not that old. That was true enough. He was 29, and would be 30 in about a month-- still young for a human, and even younger for an Epicanthix, which is what he was. He reached up to his neck and pulled out a necklace from underneath his clothing. It was a small azure crystal--one that he'd gotten from his parents the day that they were separated. But he could reminisce later.
The young Matukai rose to his feet and made his way to his room--which was on the opposite side of the ship from Ashla's--to get his weapons. He always carried three: his wan-shen, which hung compacted from his hip, his teacher's sword, which he wore slung across his back, and a short jagged vibroblade, which hung opposite from his wan-shen. That brought another thought of the difference between Ahsla and himself to mind. She was so hesitant to use a blade on someone, always claiming that weapons should be feared and respected if they were to be used. Tsu thought that was rather silly, to be honest. A weapon was a tool, an extension of oneself, and nothing more. Once he'd said as much to Ashla in some offhanded manner once. She hadn't taken kindly to it. But that's the least of the problems between us, he thought with a bit of irritation as he finished strapping on the sheath that held his sword on his back.
He made his way down the exit ramp of the ship and stepped out on to Ruusan. The sun was high, and the air was comfortably warm. Tsu smiled softly to himself. One thing his teacher had imprinted in to him was a love for nature, and days like this were great to him. Where is she, he thought impatiently as he took in the scenery of area around the small village, spying mountains off in the distance. "Ashla," he called out as he went back to the ramp. "You coming?"

Ashla made a quick stop by her room and retrieved her own weapons, wich consisted of her wan-shen, the blade in a sheith on her belt, and the staff broken down into its segmants also on her belt. She also carried the lightsaber she had won from the dark jedi. She excited the room as Tsu called for her--"Yes, I'm coming Tsu. Be patient"
As she aproached Tsu she was wearing her Matukai robes. They fit her well. The portion covering her chest was tight, showing off her figure, but the arms were loose, which allowed her complete freedom of movement. Her pant's were tight as well, and she wore calf high brown combat boots, as well as brown combat gloves. She looked out the ramp at the small village and frowned. The dragon tatoo's, one on either side of her face seemed to lean in toward her eye's.--"Its not what I was expecting"-- was all she said before heading down the ramp, and began walking toward the village. If the beauty around her had any affect on her it wasnt obvious. She just seemed to glance. Tsu would have known that she saw much in those simple glances, and that she, like him loved nature, though she had more of an affinaty for Shili, the grass covered world of the Tagruta.
Ashla noted a small group of people heading there way. They were armed, and had the look of people who knew how to use they're weapons. This was a mining comunity, so these were probably the local law officers, or guards. Or they could have simply been armed citizens. It didnt matter. Ashla was here for answer's, and she wouldnt let these men and women get in her way. Correction, woman. A woman was leading the group. She seemed to be a woman in her early thirties, with black hair, and bright green eye's. As Ashla, and Tsu approached the woman called out. "That's far enough, what be ye buisness in Garat?

Tsu continued to wait for Ashla after he heard her call back. There were some people moving about the village, but he didn't pay much attention to them. People would go about their way, and as long as they didn't get in his, there wasn't much of a problem. His amber eyes flicked over to Ashla as he heard her coming down the steps. And lingered a moment longer than he had intended them to. Her attire complimented her figure, that much was certain, and whether or not he liked her, Tsu knew beauty when he saw it. Even so, the glance was just an instant longer than a normal one, and she might not even have noticed. Heh, she notices everything, he thought wryly as he stood up from leaning against the ship.
He nodded at her words. "Yeah, it's pretty small. But sometimes there's more to these places than you'd think." It was true. His own hometown back on Fondor hadn't been very large--relatively speaking--but it had been a good place. And if this town was a mining town, as it looked like it was, the people were more than likely good, hardworking folk, something Tsu had no problem with.
Tsu looked up to see an armed group approaching them as they made their way into the village. "I wonder what those weapons are for," he said softly to Ashla, the barest edge of eagerness coloring the edge of his voice. How strange they must have looked to the outsiders, Tsu realized. A woman in green and brown robes with a blade hanging from her hip, accompanied by a man in a fairly tight-fitting garment on his upper body with a loose sash hanging about his waist over his pants, along with some metal gloves, with not one, but three weapons draping from his form? Not too mention they both had some tattoos on their faces in the same area. They could be members of some nefarious group! Or not... Whatever the case, Tsu certainly could see the reason for wanting to investigate, though he hoped the people wouldn't get too rowdy, for their own sake.
The lead woman's question got a quiet chuckle from Tsu. "Our business is probably the same as anyone else who comes to this little place," he said, looking at her weapon. His hand brushed lightly against the hilt of his jagged vibroblade--an intentional message that was meant to point out that he had his own weapons, it a not-so-subtle fashion. "If you don't make any trouble, there won't be any from us," he added with a mischievous grin.

Ashla noted how his gaze lingered and she felt a small thrill rise up from the pit of her stomach. So even after a year and a half of traveling together, she could still get his attention. She mental cursed herself. "Fool. There is nothing there. There cant be." She eye'd the people, and sensed an air of tension about them. "These comunitties are raided sometimes Tsubassa. They are being cautious, can you truly blame them?"
Ashla's hands stay away from her weapons and she gives Tsu a dirty dirty look when he makes his thinly veiled threat.--"Dont mind my friend. He is a bit...gung-ho. I am Matukai Adept Ashla Drexdrell, this is Matukai Adept Tsubassa Arus. We mean no ill intint to you or the people of this comunitee."
She stepped infront of Tsu, to make sure the fool didnt try anything.--"I was born in this village nearly twenty-five years ago. My parents died when I was still young and I was sent to an orphanage in Olomando. I am merely here to see if anyone remembers me or my parents."--she paused for a moment. To these people her voice would have sounded calm, controlled, and even. But to Tsu, there is an edge of eagerness, even trepadition in her voice.
The woman eyed her closely--"The name be familiar. Yer last name atleast. Them folk died in a speeder accident when meslf was not but a girl. Mayhap me mam can tell ye more. Just mind ye keep yer man under control, ye hear?"
Ashla's jaw nearly dropped when the woman reffered to Tsu as her man. It was purpostious. Unthinkable. --"He's not my man. Merely a friend with whom I travel"--once again, calm and even. But Tsu would have picked up somthing else. A very slight under tone of regret. Ashla followed the woman, who introduced herself a Gernie, and who turned out to be the police chief of the village.

Tsubasa snorted derisively at Ashla's words. "Well, maybe if they'd grow some fruit downstairs, they wouldn't need to worry about being raided." He said back to her in the same quiet tone as the people approached them. "It's not like it'd be that hard to scare of some raiders, not if they band together and stand their ground." He was going to say more, but he decided against it, and kept the rest of his comments to himself.
He chuckled softly to himself as Ashla stepped in front of him once they were talking to the armed people that had come to meet them. "Hey, hey, what would make you think I'd do something, Ashla," he said, with that same mischievous grin on and a dangerous spark in his eyes. But he quieted down and let Ashla have her say, though he didn't take his eyes of off the woman that led the group that had come to meet them. His eyebrows rose a bit in surprise as she spoke. So this is her home? The young Matukai looked around the small village. I knew she was from Ruusan, but I never knew this is where she hailed from. His eyes turned to look at the woman that stood before him. Interesting...
And then the woman made the comment. Tsu's eyebrows went wide in amusement, and he could feel surprise surging through Ashla. "Her... man? You think... I'm?" He threw his head back and laughed at that, and he heard Ashla stammer out a response, with what he thought may have been regret coloring her voice. "Oh, that's funny," he said when his laughter died down. "I didn't know they made such fine comedians on Ruusan," he finished, looking into the woman's eyes as he spoke. Tsu turned to look at Ashla. "Let's be off then, shall we, dear?" With that, he set off into the village, chuckling to himself as he walked.

When Tsu commented about what made Ashla think he would do somthing, she nearly sighed in exasperation. Nearly. Instead she merely turned to him and raised one neatly plucked eyebrow--"Because I know you, Tsu. Your always itching for a fight"--despite her tone, a feint smile crossed her lips for his eye's only. This smile lit up her face, transforming her from a modestlt pretty young woman, into a radiant beauty. Then he laughed at Gernie's coment, and her face became as blank as a sheet of parchment once more.
Ashla was quite as they followed , Gernie. She told herself she was a fool. That she was being childish to think that there could ever be anything between her and Tsu. Then as all women do, she came to the conclusion that it was all his fault and not her own. He was after all the imature one, who acted like a banthas backside, not her.
Both her and Tsu recieved many odd looks as they went on through the town. It was of a decent size. Maybe a thousand people in all. Men, women, and children included. So this is where she would have grown up. This is where she would have been raised if her parents hadn't died. The people wispered about them, and more than a few made a coment about her lightsaber, uttering the word Jedi.
Gernie looked at Ashla--"So..ye Mata-whatsits...ye some sort o' jedi?"
Ashla smiled feintly--"Matukai. And no, we are not Jedi. Though we do hold many of the same beliefs. But we are not a celebate order. We can marry if we choose"--her eye's flicked toward Tsu briefly, and flushed when she caught Gernies knowing gaze before continuing hastily--"Also, we concentrate the force on our own bodies, instead on inanimate objects. The Matukai are fewer in number, maybe fifty in the intire galaxy. Nor do most of us use a lightsaber. I carry one yes, but it is a trophy taken from a dark-jedi. We prefer a bladed weapon called a wan-shen."
"Can ye even use it?"--Gernie asked, raising an eyebrow "Yes, I can. I was a jedi youngling before I was a matukai. I'm not nearly as good as a fully trained jedi, but it does have its uses."--She stepped around a small pot-hole, and continued on beside Gernie, until they came to a small house
Gernie looked at Ashla--"My mam, is inside. Yer lanky friend can wait out here. Mam is a bit frisky, an he looks like the type she'd pinch on the rump"
Ashla chuckled and stepped inside with Gernie. After a while, Ashla comes back out, something held tightly in her hand. --"There is a hotel down the streat where we can stay. It will alot more comfortable then 'The Vagabond'. We'll be here for a couple more days." Ashla turned and headed down the street toward a cantina. 'The Rowdy Rancor'

{Mmk, so I thought I'd lay out the possibility for a bit more action later on, in addition to what we already have planned out, should we decide to go with it}
Tsubasa decided to look around the town some more as the group made their way through it, rather than waste time thinking about what may have been. He could sense a bit of turbulence in Ashla, perhaps as she looked back on things that could have been herself. Or maybe not. Tsu snorted softly. If she wants to look back on things, that's her problem, not mine, he mused to himself, and decided to think nothing else of it. He paid some attention to Ahsla's conversation with Gernie, but most of his attention was focused on the people of the town.
Despite, or perhaps because of whatever troubles they may have faced from raiders, they were a hard, sturdy-looking folk. Tsu could appreciate that; it was always good to be around hardy, down-to-earth people. But he did notice that he and Ashla were on the receiving end of some rather strange looks as the trekked through the town. He was used to that, though; after all, the two of them were both a bit odd looking, especially with their facial tattoos and the weapons that hung from them. But he head one word that he'd not heard in a long time: Jedi. Now, this had to pertain to Ashla, since he did not use a lightsaber; he'd never been a part of the Jedi Order, and had been trained as a Matukai from the beginning. But Ashla had been a Jedi, a youngling or something of the sort, so she knew how to use a lightsaber. She'd gotten another lightsaber somewhere along the road and carried it with her now. But a wave of light amusement passed through him at the thought that some would think her a Jedi, but he didn't mention it.
He grinned wryly at Gernie when they came to the small house. "Well, what makes you think I wouldn't like having my rump pinched," he asked with a sly wink and a laugh before leaning against the wall outside next to the door. He closed his eyes, and opened himself up to the Force as he waited on the two to come back out and fell into a light meditative trance. Even as he focused on the Force at it flowed through him, he reached out, to listen to those around him. One in particular caught his attention.
"Did ya hear," said the rough voice of a man, "rumor's spreadin' that the raiders might be comin' back sometime soon."
"Really," answered the voice of another, seemingly younger man. "I guess it's been too long since the last raid, hasn't it?"
"Aye, I guess so. Word is, if they move, they're gonna move soon."
"And you know how they are... They always come at night."
"Yeah, I just hope..."
Tsu's eyes slid open as the voices faded away, and he looked over to see the backs of the two men as they walked off to another part of the two. Heh, he thought as he absentmindedly brushed his hand against the hilt of his vibroblade, so some raiders might come soon? Interesting... A moment later, Ashla reemerged, and suggested that they stay at a hotel during the time they'd be there. Tsu nodded in agreement. He was perfectly fine sleeping out under the stars, really, but a hotel would be nice enough. He fell in behind Ashla as they headed to the cantina--the name of which evicted a laugh from him. "Ashla," he said quietly, for her and her alone, "I've heard rumors that the raiders that raid this place may be preparing to strike again."

Ashla looked at Tsu as they headed for the inn/cantina. She raised a single eyebrow-"then it seems to me, that you may get a fight after all if they strike in the time that we are here". Ashla's face is as calm and composed as always. Though somthing about the eye's suggetsed somthing was bothering her. She didn't say a word, just went in the front door of the tavern. She spoke briefly with the inn keeper, and reserved two rooms.
As she began to head up the stairs, she turned to Tsu.-"It might be best to bring the ship into town. There is a landing pad not far from here. And while your doing that you can bring me back duffle bag if you would please Tsu..thankyou"--she walks into her room and closes her door without even waiting for a reply. The normaly polite Ashla, had been slightly rude.
She went into the fresher, and took full advantage of this luxary. Vagabond was nice enough, but it was somewhat spartan in nature. Normaly this wouldnt have bothered Ashla. She was a Matukai, and lived with only the basic's. But kark it, she liked a nice hot shower. While in the shower she dwelled on the conversation with Gernie and her mother, Maybel. She had an aunt and uncle that lived on the other side of town. Her aunt was her mothers sister. Her blood. Her uncle, Regnek had forced her aunt, her name sake to give her away. From all acounts, he was neither a kind, nor gentle man. Her aunt had been eighteen when her mother had died. She would be forty now.
As Ashla left the refresher, using a towel to dry her hair, she didnt notice Tsu sitting on her bed. When she did she let out a small yelp, and covered her naked form with the towel. How much had he seen. Why hadn't she seen him there. Why hadn't she sensed him!!!-"TSUBASA!!, What the KARK are you doing in here!!!"-Her face was beat red, and the normaly composed young matukai was completely, totaly, one-hundred percent flustered. No man had ever seen her unclothed. Not one since she had been a very very small child. She stared at Tsu, making sure as much of her form was covered by the towel as possible--"Well?!?!, what are you doing Tsubasa!"- She brushed damp hair from her eye's, then hastily grapsed the towel again as it had slipped when she had released it with one hand. Her heart was beating so fast and so loud, she was certain they could have heard it three streets over.

{This probably comes across a bit awkwardly, but oh well. I try xD}
Tsu grinned wickedly as he walked beside Ashla. "That would be fun," he said as he flexed his hands in his gloves, causing them to pop loudly. "It's been a while since I've had a good fight. Let's hope these raiders are up to the job, then. " He let a short bark of a laugh loose as he looked down at the woman that walked beside him. "The normal goons get boring after a while, y'know?"
The two continued on to the inn in silence, and Ashla reserved two rooms. Tsu started to make his way up the stairs behind Ashla when she turned around and suggested that he go bring the Vagabond to the landing pad in the town. He agreed with a nod and turned to leave when he heard her abruptly close the door to her room. Heh, what's wrong with her, he thought as he made his way out through the lobby of the inn. He walked back out into the town to go back the way they had come. Evening was approaching, and the sun was getting lower in the sky, and was about to slip behind a range of mountains in the distance. He thought about a number of things as he walked, from things to do with Ashla to the possible raider attack to things he could do to make himself a better fighter. It was just good to have some time alone to think about whatever he wanted.
Tsu took a quick shower on the ship and changed in to some more casual clothes--a somewhat tight dark blue shirt with no sleeves, leaving his very well defined arms bare, along with the few scars that crossed them, along with some loose grey pants and his regular shoes. He wore only his short jagged vibroblade on his hip now, and put the rest of his stuff in his own bag. Once he was done getting everything together, he flew the Vagabond the short distance to the landing pad, paid the fee, and made his way back to the inn, carrying his and Ashla's things as he went.
He dropped his things off in his room, and went to Ashla's to drop off hers. As he was preparing to leave, he heard movements in the refresher room. Movements that said someone was coming out. Wonderful. Tsu made to go to the door and leave, but there wasn't enough time to get out, and it'd be rather awkward if she came to him running to get out a like a crazed man. So, he quickly decided to do something else. If there was gonna be an awkward situation, he was gonna play it up. Besides, Ashla's reaction might be amusing. So he quickly sat down on the bed and threw on a simple--if somewhat mocking--smile.
And he had to fight to keep his eyebrows from flying off of the top of his head and his jaw from falling to the ground. Ashla was... well, nekkid, for lack of a better word. This is gonna be interesting, he thought as he waited for her to notice him, and started thinking of a way to get out before she decided to punch him. He didn't have to wait long. "You wanted me to drop your stuff off," he said wryly in response to her stammering as he stood to his feet and stepped slowly to her. The plan was to stay steady, with an air of cocky self-assurance--which wasn't usually a hard thing for him--but his eyes weren't cooperating, and the dropped down to look over her when her towel fell. But he decided to run with it, letting them come back up slowly until the met her eyes, and letting himself smirk just a bit. And though he may have seemed steady outwardly, he was far from it on the inside. She is going to KILL me, kept running through his head, and he was torn between the urging of his body to stay, and the urging of his senses to get the hell out. Thankfully, his senses were winning. "But, if you want some privacy, I'll leave you be," he said as he stopped, just a few feet away from her.
Perhaps he'd taken to many hits to his head over the years, because he did something next that he'd not planned on doing. He leaned forward, and kissed her. It was a quick thing, though thankfully, it wasn't rushed. He paused after he did it, in a moment of shock, and looked into her eyes before turning to leave. Tsubasa didn't stop moving until he was in his own room with the door closed. It was then that he realized his heart was racing, and there was a bit of sweat on his forehead. Not to mention that he felt rather warm all of a sudden. "Jeez," he said with a sigh as walked to sit on his own bed, "that was unexpected." And that it was. But he didn't have much time to spend thinking about it. He and Ashla still had things to look into in the town.

He was walking toward her. Toward her. WHat the feck was she going to do. He was so close she could smell the soap he had used to clean. The scent of his skin, his hair, his breath. Each one as compelling as the last. Each one screaming to her. Her instincts told her to let it happen. Her senses told her to hit him as hard as she could. Fortunately for him, her instinct's were proveing the stronger today. He was so close, so karken close to her. His eye's. She had never notice just how unique they were. Amber eye's gazed into her's, and her midnight blue orbs stared right back. She swallowed hard as he came closer still. His eye's travelled her body. She felt her blush deepening, but there was nothing she could do. She was rooted in place. She couldnt move. Oh sweet Force", she though as he leaned in closer. She held the blanket firmly in place with one hand. Her lips parted as he leaned in and kissed her. She had never kissed a man before, her heart was racing, she could scarely breath. He was kissing her, and she was kissing him back. She brought the free hand not holding the towel up to rest on his cheek. She would have continued the kiss if he hadnt broken it off. She would have let it go much further if he hadn't broke the kiss. She stared into his eye's, her soft pink lips open slightly, as if she was going to say somthing, or expecting another kiss. But he just stared at her. She saw what was in his eye's. He was shocked that he had kissed her. This wasnt one of his ploys. This was open and honest. It took Ashla a moment to realize that he had left, and in that moment her brain finaly started working. She rushed over to her duffle bag and quickly pulled on some clothing. She put on the only dress she owned. It resembled her matukai robes a great deal, but there were notable differences. It was white and tan for one. For another it left her shoulders completely bare. In her mind she was kursing Tsu, cursing herself, cursing anyone she could even remotely blame for this entire situation. She left her room with only the blade of her wan-shen on her belt, and her lightsaber. She stopped by Tsu's door, and nearly nocked. Ashla wondered if he could sense her. Eventualy she decided against it, and went downstairs . She spoke breifly with the inn-keeper--"Could you please let my traveling companion that I have gone to the other side of town to talk to the Cordans?"--The innkeeper nods his balding head and she heads for the door. Ashla hurried along, inhailing deeply the cool night air. She hadn't planned to visit her aunt until the next morning, but she needed to clear her head. Her brisk pace carried her to the other side of town in a a quater of an hour. Taking out the piece of papaer Maybel had given her, she locates the apropriate house and nocks on the door. A woman opens the door. It was as if Ashla had stepped into the future, so alike was she and he aunt. The same black hair, a midnight blue eye's. Her aunts eye's were older, wiser, and there was a touch of grey about her temples.--"Ashlayd Cordan?"--Ashla asked hesitaintly. Ashlayd nods, her eye's wide, her alabaster skin pail, as if she had seen a gost-"Oh..by the Force....Ashla"--Ashlayd took in the sight of her niece, drinking it in--"Come in child..come in"Ashla and her aunt talked for a couple of hours in wich time Ashla learned a great deal about her parents. Her father, Marcus, had been a mountain of a man, standing over six foot in height and weighing over two-hundred pounds. Her mother Dainai, had been only slightly taller than she herself was. They talked, and they laughed until the front door opened and in stepped trouble. Regnek was home. ( Le Outfit ){ how Ashla is dressed. And yes, at this point she has long hair. But not brown. still black. Also I dont mind if Tsu shows up there, but Ashla is going to kick Regneck butt in the next post"--XD}

Tsubasa stayed in his room and merely thought for a while. To be honest, he was still in a bit of shock after what happened in Ashla's room. It was a strange thing for him to have his normal air of cocky assurance blown, and he wasn't quite sure how he felt at the moment. Sure, part of him had rather enjoyed the events that occurred a few minutes earlier, but the other part of him wasn't so sure. So he just sat there, on his bed, arms folded in his legs, and thought. Eventually, he came to the realization that he'd been staring at an old scar on one of his arms and looked up, wondering how much time he'd wasted. "Come on, Tsu, you can't sit here and mope all night," he muttured to himself as he rose to get his wan-shen out of his bag, "You've got things to do."
The wan-shen went into the sheath that his master's old sword usually went into, since he decided to leave the sword in the room; he wouldn't need three weapons. He slung the sheath across his back and checked to make sure he had his short jagged vibroblade at his waist, and made his way down to the lobby. The innkeeper told him that Ashla had made her way to the Cordan household, and upon Tsu's request, gave him directions, so Tsu made his way back out into the town.
Tsubasa was rather surprised to see that night had fallen, and he could see two of Ruusan's three moons in the dark sky. The night air was cool, and most would probably question his decision to wear the sleeveless shirt he was in, given that in addition to having no sleeves, it was also relatively thin, but he was a Matukai, and such things didn't bother him. It'd have to be much colder than it was to bother him, and Matukai were trained to adjust their body temperature in response to extreme heat or cold, so even then, he would have been fine.
The presence of another tickled at the back of his mind, and he turned to find a man walking behind him. "Hello stranger," the man said as Tsu stopped. Tsubasa bristled imperceptibly at the sight of the man. Something about him irritated Tsu, but he wasn't sure what it was. "Can't say I've seen you before," the stranger continued. "You can call me Regneck. What brings you here?"
"You can call me Tsu... I'm here with a... friend of mine," Tsu responded slowly.
"Are ya? I don't see anyone there witcha."
"Oh, she went to find someone. I'm going to meet her now."
"Whereat? I might be able to help ya get there."
Tsu paused for a moment. He didn't really want to tell Regneck where he was going, but he didn't know many of the places in the town, and saying that he came from the inn would be a waste of time. "The Cordan household."
"Well then, why didn't ya say so earlier? I'm headin' there myself," he slapped Tsu on the back with a hearty laugh and started to walk off, and Tsu fell in behind him with a sigh. A short while later, they arrived at the house, and Regneck opened the door. Ashla was inside, along with another woman. Tsu's cocky smile returned as he looked at both of them after stepping in behind Regneck. "Hey folks. How are we this fine evening?"
{Alright, I hope that would fit with Regneck's personality. If it doesn't just let me know}

tluin = a derogitory term that begins with an wh. You can probably guess what that is))
Ashla raised a single eyenbrow as Regneck enters. He wasnt a large man in hight. Maybe just a hair under six foot, but his build was slightly stocky. He had a scgraggly beard, and greying unkempt hair. Ashla could smell the reek of alchohol on his breath. Then Tsu came in behin him, and she pailed, then flushed slightly at the thought of what had trasnpired a few short hours ago. She tore her gaze from him and stared at Regneck.
"Why who is this deary...another of yer little tluin friends?"--Regneck said
Ashlayd stiffend--"No!, she me sister Daina's daughter ye drunken lou...ugh!"
Regneck had back handed Ashlayd--"Don ye talk ter m-". Regneck never got the chance to finish his sentence, interupted in much the same way he had just silence his wife. Uxcept it was Ashla back handing him with enough force to make him stagger back. He eyed the tiny warrior in suprise--"Touch her again...and you die"--Ashla's tone was dark. It promised death as certainly as walking into a Rancor den.
Why ye little wretch!!"--He rushed Ashla, pulling a knife from his belt. She dodged and turnd, and let his arm pass over her shoulder. Ashla reached up and grabbed Regnecks wrist, and jerked down with more strength than would have been expected from her slight build. The strain of that one swift jerk shattered bone, and tore thhe ligaments in his arm. She then reached back over her shoulder with her left hand, grabbed his and flipped him over her shoulder onto his back--"Stay down"--She said as she took the knife from his now limp hand.
She glances at Tsu, a feint smile on her face--"go ahead...say it"--before she turn's her attention to her aunt, inspecing Ashlayds mouth where Regneck had struck her.
"I'm fine child...I've had worse from him"--Ashlayds eye's widen as she looks over Ashlas shoulder--"LOOK OUT!!". Ashla spun about as Regneck had leveled a blaster at Ashlas back. Ashla's body, hone by years upon years of training reacted before she could think. She threw the knife with a underhanded flick of her wrist, and buried it in Regnecks eye. His body jerked and convolsed for a moment before he fell completely limp.
Ashla stared at her dead 'uncle'. She never enjoyed the taking of life, but she did it when it was neccisary. she glanced around the room, her aunt's face was as pail as fresh snow. She was free of him now. She knew that..but the fact she had just watched her niece..a woman far younger and smaller than Reneck, beat and then kill him. She was clearly in shock. Ashla turned from her aunt, unable to meet her gaze. She turned instead to Tsu. The pain in her eye's was plain as day. She had come here for answer's, not to spill blood.--"Go ahead Tsu...say it"

Tsubasa nodded slightly to Ashlayd in greeting. He smirked at Ashla when he saw her go pale, but he said nothing of the events that had transpired earlier. But things got a bit crazy before he had a chance to say anything else.
He tensed when Regeneck struck out at Ashlayd, and almost moved to stop him, but Ashla was on it immediately. One of his black eyebrows lifted a bit at Ashla's death threat. Now, Tsu was all for having a good fight, and he wouldn't even object to Ashla beating the daylights out of this Regneck character, but to kill... It wasn't something to do lightly, and even he was rather wary of taking a life. I hope she knows what she's doing, he thought as he eyed Ashla and Regneck. Apparently Regneck didn't appreciate the threat, because he pulled a knife and rushed at Ashla. But Tsu only shook his head. Perhaps Regneck was a competent fighter, but he would surely fall against Ashla's training. Tsubasa winced a bit at the sound of breaking bone before Ashla flipped the man down to the ground.
The young Matukai laughed wryly when Ashla told him to say what he'd been going to say, and once more, right before he'd been about to speak, things got violent. Regneck attacked Ashla again, and he paid for his foolishness. Dearly. For a moment, there was nothing but silence in the room as everyone took in what had just happened. Finally, Tsu sighed heavily before crouching down next to Regneck and pulling the knife from his eye and closing the man's eyelids. "Well," he said slowly as he stood up and turned to look at Ashlayd, "I'd like to think we could have met in more.... uh... cheerful circumstances, but it is what it is." His eyes swept back and forth between Ashlayd and Ashla, noting how similar they looked. "I am Tsubasa, though you can call me Tsu if you wish," he said with a slight bow of his head. With that, he turned to Ashla. "So, uh... I'm assuming she's a relative of yours?"

Ashla nodded at Tsu's question-"My aunt..."-She glanced at Ashlayd, who was looking at her niece as if she didnt know what to make of this tiny woman. Ashla met her aunts gaze. Ashlayds is uncertain, Ashla's is vulnerable.
Yer a trained killer?..thats what ye have done with ye life girl?"--AShlayd asked her neice in a soft voice [teal]
"No. I am a matukai. I have been trained to defenc myself, and I will."--Ashla sighs--"I supose you beter call the constible Aunt Ashlayd....we might as well get this over with"
Ashlayd hesitates for a moment, then eyeing Tsu calls Gernie. Ashl turned to look at Tsu. What was he doing here. Why had he followed her. She walked over to him, her eye's questioning, as is her tone--"And why are you here Tsu...I left word for you that I would be back shortly."--Ashla seems to have gotten a bit of her fire back.--"Did I give any indication I needed you to follow me? Or perhaps you think I cant take care of myself is that it?"--It would become obvious to Tsu, that Ashla was using him to vent.--"You think that one kiss gives you th..."--Ashla stops in mid-sentence, and flushes turning away from Tsu--"I..I'm sorry Tsu. I shouldnt be yelling at you"
((Sorry. Best I could do. GGgrrr...couldnt think of anything else to say)

{No worries, happens to all of us}
"I see," Tsu said, before crouching back down to move Regneck's arms to his side, in preparation to move his body somewhere less... out in the open. He looked to Ashla and Ashlayd as he went about his work. They did look very similar, with their midnight black hair and their dark blue eyes. "I can see that."
Ashlayd's question brought a bit of a frown to his face. A trained killer? Certainly the Matukai were very formidable fighters, but trained killers? Hardly. "Yes," he said as he stood back to his feet. "We are trained in the ways of the Force and combat, but we are not out to kill." The two long strands of hair that fell down either side of his face and on down his torso waved slightly as he shook his head. "Killing isn't we take lightly, though it is something we will do if it's necessary." But that was enough of that.
Ashlayd left to go find Gernie, and Ashla started to stare Tsu down in a way that made him a bit wary. "Something wrong," he asked as he raised his eyebrow a bit at her. She came a few steps closer to him, and then started questioning him, of all things! At first, it merely annoyed Tsu, but as she went on, annoyance gave way to anger. Had he not considered Ashla a comrade, he might have struck her; as it was, wiry strands of muscle flexed and stood out in his forearms as he clenched his fists in anger. He hadn't even done anything, and this is what he got from her? Tsu's eyes narrowed dangerously at the short woman that stood before him, which, for most--as Ashla would know--was a sign that he was on the verge of attacking them. But he would not do that to her. Not here, anyway. "Well, then," he said, after she gave her apology, not even trying to hide the anger from his voice, "Damn straight you shouldn't be. I came here because we're traveling companions, remember? We've been doing this for about a year and a half now. Or did you forget?" Tsubasa snorted in irritation. "And don't forget those times I've saved your sorry ass. Times when you thought you 'could take care of yourself.'" That was true, if perhaps a bit unfair. They'd saved each other a number of times during their travels, but Tsu didn't really care about being fair at the moment. "But if you want me to be gone, then fine," he said, before turning on his heel and walking out the door.
He leaned against the wall outside the small house and waited for Gernie to make her way over. I just don't get her, he thought in his anger. Sometimes she seems like the best thing in the galaxy. But other times... she really pisses me off.

Ashla indures Tsu yelling at her. She had yelled at him first and without reason. And then he just left, leaving her alone in there with her guilt. She sighed to herself and sat down on the couch and held her head in her hands. She sighed and waited for Gernie. It didnt take long for the constible to show up.
As Gernie walked into the room, her eye's rested on Ashla. She raised one raven eyebrow at Ashla's atire.-"Already getten inter trouble are yeh Ms.Ashla". She knelt beside Regnek, "ye got 'im good. From what yer aunt says, tis a clean cut case of self defence..but I need ter hear it from ye"
Ashla procedes to explain what had happened, and Gernie merely nodded--"we'll 'ave this clear up in a jiff...don' ye fret none. He was a bad 'on, bound ter happen to 'im sooner rather than later if ye catch me drift"
Ashla merely nods--"Am I free to go?"
Gernie nods--"that ye are"
Ashla nods again--"Thank you Gernie"--Ashla walks outside and up to Tsu and speaks to him softly--"I am sorry Tsu....I..I shouldnt have acted the way I did. I..I dont know how I feel about what I just did. Part of me is glad I killed him, and the other part hates me for being glad. I lashed out at you...I'm sorry"--then for no aparant reason, she hugged him and extends fully up on her tip-toes and kissed him.
((HAH HAH, heres more tension for these two))
