Time Scale

By popular consensus, this thread will be set eight years ago (that is to say 3610 BBY). For your convenience, this means that:

Sali Hyria is 19 years of age and is currently an Onderonian princess. Her father was assassinated last year, but her mother continues to serve as Onderon's reigning monarch.

Avirod Escara [aka Prince Sarala], aged 17, is the current Prince of Keren, Naboo. His father serves as Naboo's lifelong King, and as such Avirod also serves as an abassador for Naboo. He is not yet a Senator.

Plot

I was thinking something along the lines of Avirod travelling to Onderon to speak with Sali’s mother (if we choose to set it eight years ago) or with Sali herself (if we choose to set it five or six years ago). Whatever happens, Sali could be kidnapped (this might be more convincing if she was only a Princess, as she could be held to ransom, to try to extort money from her mother).

We could either do it that Avirod is kidnapped, too, or that he somehow stows away aboard the kidnappers’ ship. I personally prefer the first option, as it makes more sense, although the second could work, too.

Of course, this is only one suggestion

So are you looking for mainly PCs for this, or NPCs?

I'm actually rooting for Sali to be a princess. Just makes a little more sense since Sali as an actual queen would likely be captured, but she'd have the guts to attempt at getting away.

With her being a princess, Sali would still be somewhat of a little girl still and upset over Daddy's death. Also, there's someone to ransom too. Never know what the advisers might say.

Okay. At this point in time, Lanara Skysiri... my bounty hunter... was about 4-5ish years into a term with the fine Corps of Republic Marines. 5-6 years ago she was part of the Delta Force like special forces group... and she'd have done things like this many times. xD So, um... if you guys need someone to save your characters, I'd happily oblige. ^^ If not, well, I hadda try.

Considering both Squee and I have expressed a preference for setting this 8 years ago, it seems like that's pretty much gonna be the case.

If, Delta, you're okay with donating Lanara during that time period, I personally would be more than happy to welcome you into the plot. How much of the actual rescue she manages to do, and how much of them is somehow bodged by Sali and Avi would have to be worked out at a later date XD

As for Mara's question, I don't know about Squee's opinion, but I have no particular preference as regards PCs or NPCs. I would suggest, however, that PCs might make for a more interesting history, as it would give them a "past" with Sali and Avi. I'd still be more than happy with NPCs, though, depending on what Squee thinks.

All right. My apologies for such a long absence. My name on the "Members on now" stream can be a bit deceiving, since I am half here and half not more than... half the time. xD

So, I don't mind NPCs. PCs I like, too, if we can get it. I don't mind Lana being there, Delta. Not sure if I already told you that or not when you mentioned it to me. Try and see who else might be interested in this now. Maybe I can trap one or two friends in a corner, point my finger in their face and say, "You owe me one!" xD
