Name:
Sheeor Mericle
Race:
Cathar (main species)
Age:
12
Height:
5 feet (6 feet when adult)
Weight:
110 lbs (250 lbs when adult)
Appearance:
Sheeor Mericle is a Cathar. Cathar are all lionlike in appearance, but have many human qualities, such as the ability to walk and run, and the ability to hold things. Cathar are covered in fur, though the amount lies within the species of Cathar. Although having similar physical traits to an adult, as an adolescent Sheeor has much more body hair, sharper teeth and claws, and a much leaner body build.
Sheeor's appearance is slightly different than that of a normal Cathar. Sheeor has darker fur on his body, and light green eyes, like the color of lime. His chest has black fur while the rest of his body is covered in a mahogany coat. His mustache (when he grows one as an adult) is black and in a Fu Manchu style. His hair is black. His claws are not black, but rather white, for once he reaches adulthood they turn black.
Even as a growing child his body is extremely muscular and lean. Some Cathar end up being huge brutes of strength and muscle, while others possess the fate of a lean but strong stature, like Sheeor. He can leap an impressive 8 feet, and has the trait all Cathar have that is night vision, which is a result of his pupils, which have the traditional "cat eye" in the intense light.
Personality:
Sheeor is quick to listen, but slow to speak. He says very little unless he asks a question, and loves to learn and pursue knowledge, inner purity and strength, even as a child. The whole Cathar race is based upon high moral values, but the Cathar still tend to have rather quick tempers. Sheeor is pretty bad about that, which is quite a disappointment, for his force sensitivity is high. The temper can turn nasty if the situation does not become controlled, and the good thing is that the Jedi usually can handle the "Kittie's fury".
The sad thing is that this anger never showed itself until Sheeor's first Master, Gu Yenn passed. He was Sheeor's idol, his first mentor and saviour from the hell that was his home. He adored Gu Yenn, and was destroyed when word of his death reached the Temple. Despite his massive potential with the Force, Sheeor was quite distracted and abandoned for most of his eight years at the Temple, for Gu Yenn was constantly on missions involving peacekeeping amongst the galaxy. But throughout this whole ordeal with the death of his master, Sheeor has gained humbleness, surrounded by patience for a new master to arrive.
Although humble, Sheeor has a problem with stubbornness. It takes a lot to push this little guy to understanding a concept, and even more to change his mind. To him, the galaxy should always make sense, and if someone tries to tell him something outside of his understanding, then confusion sets in. Over time this pride will diminish, but at the moment, other than the natural anger of his race, will be the thorn in his side.
But as a child, Sheeor is fun and loving, and clingy to his elders. He loves to laugh and have a good time, and play is vital to his growth. Loving to be alive is probably his greatest moral as a creature, and that's what keeps many of his friends going. His optimism is what separates him from his young peers, who most of have just left the comfort and love of their parents.
Birth place:
Sheeor was born and raised until age 4 in the Vast Veldt region of Cathar.
Faction:
Jedi
Rank:
Youngling

Genesis
Sheeor was born in the center of the Vast Veldt region in Cathar. Both his parents were hunters and merchants, who sold the skins and eyes of the Kiltik beetles in which they killed together. With both of them being the largest of the tribe, it is easy to conceive that Sheeor would be large as well. Mulkane, Sheeor's father, was born on Cathar and grew up in the same tribe that he resides in to this day. Grayna, Sheeor's mother, was born on Dantooine, and moved to Cathar to see her race's home world. The two of his parents met during a bi-annual Blood Hunt.
It only took two months for Mulkane and Grayna to fall in love, and they then married. A year later, Sheeor was born. Considered amongst the tribe as a freak, Sheeor possessed the unusual trait of black fur that made him so peculiar. His odd coloring was very much a burden, for he stood out on the brown savanna like a strawberry in a blackberry bowl. He could never go on hunts, and once the Great Hunt started, he was not allowed to attend. Mulkane begged the tribe elder, and with that, was granted the ability to attend.
Sheeor, barely walking at the time, was traveling with Mulkane and his uncle Brawn. Suddenly a Kiltik beetle pounced on Brawn, and was killed before Mulkane could kill the beetle. The tribe elders saw this as Sheeor's fault, and ordered him to leave the tribe altogether due to his fur getting someone killed. The three left the tribe reluctantly, after many hours of begging, and in short time, were on their own. And on that day was Sheeor's first birthday.
The trio walked the savannas of Cathar living off the land and acting as nomads to the harsh environment populated by poisonous plants and dangerous insects, like the Kiltik. Never were they disturbed by the other tribes though, which if they had stayed, would have surely killed Sheeor. It was one day, when Sheeor had just turned two, that would change the Mericle's lives forever.
The Answer Unfolds
It was a normal day in the savanna. Mulkane had just returned from the forest with some berries and a dead eeeyonk. Grayna was boiling water to remove any parasites. Sheeor was sitting on the ground, and was suddenly pounced on by a young Kiltik, rogue and hungry. Sheeor, out of the will of the Force, dodged the Kiltik's attack and gave Mulkane enough time to slit the throat of the beast. This was the Force, and all three of them knew it.
At this moment everything was different. From being in such a remote, Outer Rim planet, it was almost unheard of for the Cathar to know what the Force was, but somehow they knew. Grayna instantly screamed, and Mulkane ran to the two year old and picked him up, smiling. To him, his son actually had something going for him, and they knew now that Sheeor had help already on the way, for even though they didn't know until now, others already did.
Trouble arises
Of course now, the Mericles couldn't stay in that area anymore. They knew now that everyone looking for them had a two year head start, and could possible be Cathar by now. And since Sheeor unleashedThe Force that he possessed, anything Force sensitive that were looking could much easier locate them, and kill them. They ran far throughout the land, going to the one place they knew that they could hide: The Barrens. The Barrens were a group of mountain ranges circling the entire North Pole of the planet. The base of the mountains were surrounded by deserts, while the summit itself was covered in Taiga and snow. The summit could serve as a great hideout, but the problem was the desert in the way, white radiated 270 miles from the mountains. And the group themselves were already 130 miles from the area considered "The Desert". It was going to be a long walk.
But safety was more important than comfort to this trio. Months and months of walking finally paid off when the three reached the end of the desert. Food and water was scarce, but it didn't matter, for there were other resources the trio used for energy. They stopped and breathed, and set up camp so that the year's hard work could be rewarded with sleep.
Of course Sheeor himself was too young to understand what was going on, but one memory still resides in him today. One day when within miles from the summit, Sheeor was with his parents and were then confronted by Dark Jedi. They pulled out lightsabers and went after Grayna and Mulkane. The two instantly grabbed anything they needed and scooped up Sheeor and ran. They ran for hours, despite the hunger and thirst that burdened them. One time they looked back, and saw the Dark Jedi to be walking slowly in the opposite direction. What was the point of this they thought, and continued running. They were now hiking at an alarming rate up the mountain, and once snow was under their feet, stopped to rest. Sheeor was crying, for the first time in his three years of life did he realize what danger and trouble his horrible life was in.
For the next 5 months the trio lived on the summit, boiling snow and eating deer and berries. This wasn't as bad as desert living, but they needed to figure out what to do with themselves. Should they stay here for eternity? Or should they go to the other side of the planet and see if another tribe would accept them? The adults decided to wait it out for a few more months, but once winter came around, it was time to move.
The cold was unbearable. The parents knew they couldn't stay where they were, but they also knew they couldn't go back to the desert, for the Dark Jedi were there. The only answer was to go up. High up the mountain towards the volcanic crater, which would supply more than enough warmth. They trekked up the mountain at a slow pace, and eventually, after a week, made it.
The change in temperature was almost too hard to bear, but they were safe, had food, and somewhere to rest where they weren't getting too cold. Everything seemed to be good. But trouble was coming the next day...
Descent
It was time to go. Winter was over, and the volcano was acting as though it was time to blow. They were walking around the edge of the crater, when the Dark Jedi that disturbed them surrounded them. They demanded Sheeor. Mulkane refused, and the leader of the Dark Jedi Force pushed him into the volcano. Horrified, Grayna dropped to the ground and Sheeor stood there oblivious to the death of his father and the predicament they were in.
Suddenly, a starship dropped down and someone Force Stunned Grayna, and demanded the Dark Jedi to leave, for there foolish use of the Force had attracted them to Sheeor's location. Reluctantly they retreated for fear of being captured, and the person told Sheeor to get it the starship, for his mother would be safe. A few more people exited the cruiser, and nodded to the leader that the situation was under control. Sheeor got in, and the starship took off. He was now with the Jedi Order, going back to the temple to become a youngling.
Potential
On the way to the Temple, Sheeor asked the man what was going on. The man said that he was a Master of the Jedi Order, and was taking him back to the Temple to hopefully become a Jedi as well. Sheeor asked how he found me and why, and the Jedi replied with words Sheeor would never forget: "We were on a mission in Vinsoth, a planet quite close to here, trying to get to a Chevin warlord to free some slaves. Suddenly me and my fellow Jedi Knights felt a disturbance in the Force, as if some evil was stirring up. We discovered the evil was coming from this planet and came here. We circled around until I randomnly suggested the volcano in which you were found, and sure enough evil was there, but there was a diamond in the rough, and the diamond was you, dear boy."
Now Sheeor was at the Temple. The rise of Jedi has been going on a lot recently, despite the fact that Sheeor was discovered in an Outer Rim planet. Sheeor felt at home in the Temple, and comfortable amongst the other Jedi. Two days into his stay at the Temple, Sheeor was brought to the Council, and was appointed to the class that Gu Yenn taught, who Sheeor later discovered was the Jedi who saved him back on Cathar. Master Yenn saw much potential in Sheeor personally, but for four years, little was taught amongst his class except humbleness.
This greatly angered Sheeor, for after four years of nothing but learning patience, his 8 year old mind was starting to grow eager, for no "Jedi" powers in his opinion were being taught. He finally found relief when he was beginning to be taught meditation. This calmed Sheeor's inner self and taught him the basics of Force control. Without those four years of learning meditation, he would never succeed as a Jedi. These were the vital days of his young life.
And this Force control did benefit him. Once Master Yenn started his teaching on basic Force powers and lightsaber training, Sheeor flourished. Second only to Falgo Aderi, a Corellian that soon became Sheeor's rival and best friend. They constantly were practicing saber training together and were giving eachother tips on form. These were the golden days.
Loss and Gain
Tragedy struck a few months after he turned 12. Master Yenn was pronounced dead after not returning or being heard from in six months, despite rescue and communication attempts. This destroyed Sheeor greatly, and despite his frustration with Master Yenn, he loved him very much. So once he heard of his death, his anger began to develop. He became stubborn and almost unteachable, and was instructed to have at least 2 months to himself in his chambers. During that exile Sheeor started gaining control, and is now ready to begin Jedi Training once more, granted a Master shows up to teach him.
