Belas Ryant here for this Holonet news update:
The Situation on planet Devaron has grown direr, with once peaceful protests now breaking out into full fledged rioting. Many of the locals are dead or injured from the large scale disturbance over who can hold governmental power.
For those who don’t know about the current state of Devaron, here is a small rundown:
Under long standing traditions, only females of the Devaronian species are permitted to hold places of political power. Recently this system has come under fire from the males, causing protests, boycotts and in the worst of cases, rioting and murders.
To combat this planet wide violence, there have been an all time high number of arrests leading to execution, as well as an influx of emigrants leaving for other worlds. Our sources also state that the Jedi council has taken an interest in this case, and will be sending a Diplomatic Party to help with negotiations. With luck, both sides will be able to reach a consensus and reduce any further casualties.
Those planning on traveling to Devaron are advised to stay away, as everyone is on edge and may perceive any outsiders as a potential threat.
