Lux, being of Arkanian decent, was born with the characteristic white hair and pointed ears. However, unusually enough, given his lower caste lineage, he possessed the pure white eyes of the "pure" Arkanians, a trait uncharacteristic of his "offshoot" heritage. He is thin and pale, bearing a single large scar on his chest and stomach that resulted from typical Arkanian experimentation as well as numerous other scars riddling his body from various other experiments and battle wounds. As a Mandalorian, he almost never removed his armor except to sleep for apparent embarrassment over his more defined, "frail" looking features in comparison to the militaristic Mandalorians. As Head of Ataxia Research and Development he still concealed his appearance as often as possible and frequently wore armor. However he no longer confined himself to solely Mandalorian designs and occasionally donned experimental armor of his own design. He wore his hair relatively short and slicked back at all times so as to fit better in his helmet.

Bio:
Lux was born to a sickly mother and a distant father. Lenore and Balzac Teper were of the mining caste and both had spent both their lives in total poverty. After having been married for only a year, Lenore conceived a child. Although she was thrilled, Balzac was fraught with worry over his wife’s delicate health which steadily declined as the pregnancy progressed. Lenore died shortly after giving birth to the child, holding the delicate bundle in her arms, her last words were his name; Lux Teper. Lux’s father made no secret that he resented the young Arkanian for Lenore’s death and quickly became a despondent alcoholic. Lux would find no solace from his father’s inebriated wrath for, every time the man would gaze into his child’s eyes, he would see the pearly white of nobility. The child’s eyes reflected Balzac’s loss and reminded him always of his lost wife. The child wouldn’t speak a single word until the age of 11.
Lux would be rejected by his peers as well later in his life. His “noble” eyes singled him out as a freak, a fake, a mutant. All his classmates would keep their distance from the silent boy who’d come to school every day with new bruises on his face, arms, and legs. Even his teachers found his silence and hybrid countenance disturbing and kept their distance. No one ever bothered to question the origin of his wounds.
One fateful day his life changed, not for better or worse, it merely changed. Balzac Teper was on of many working in a tunnel of the extensive gem mines of Arkania when a miscalculated blast resulted in a cave-in. Balzac was crushed along with five other colleagues. Lux then the age of 10, was left orphaned and alone. For years he roamed the streets of a poor miner's district, a beggar. He was discovered one day by a passing aristocrat and scientist of Adascorp. The man’s attention had been seized by the blank stare of Lux’s “Noble” eyes. Then at the age of 15, he was adopted immediately.
What would seem like a dream come true turned into a nightmare. The scientist was an old man who went by the name of Nero Ciminosus. Nero was a man of infinitely insatiable curiosity. He maintained an ever growing library of any and every record, account, and story he could get his hands on. Nero also had a love of travel and had spent much of his early years voyaging through the galaxy. Unfortunately, he had never nurtured the concept of compassion over logical betterment and, staying true to the stereotype, was keen on using his young ward as a test subject for his numerous experiments. The results were a permanent scar spanning his chest and stomach as well as several artificially produced and installed organs, among which was a Pulra genetically stripped of it's sentience and forced to take the form of a heart and lungs.
Lux lived miserably with the old scientist for 7 years, his only solace being in the vast library the old man possessed, which he was allowed to peruse often. It was through this library that the young Arkanian would be able to develop his naturally adept mind and exercise a learning speed that would be crippled by any teacher. He encountered a good many fascinating books, records, scrolls, and data holocrons, absorbing them all ravenously. The most fascinating document he found was a data holocron filed among the records regarding the history of the Mandalorians. It was a copy of scientific records from the Mandalorian Wars and recalled numerous experiments performed by an infamous Mandalorian Doctor; Demagol. Like a good horror novel, the document enthralled Lux with it's strange and weird operations. The holocron even contained a few remarks on Demagol's reverence to Lux's own species, praising their love of science and uninhibited use of it. This apparent compliment made Lux swell with pride, for the first time in his life, he loved what he was if only for a moment.
Lux was at the age of 22 when he was liberated from the cruelty of his adoptive father. It was by chance that he witnessed his adoptive father perish at the hands of one of his own experiments. A huge, unrecognizable chimera had broken free from its restraints and snapped the frail old man in half. Nero’s foresight was Lux’s godsend that day for the old man had kept a basic blaster in his lab at all times in case of such emergencies. After fumbling through the dusty old drawers for a few seconds, Lux aimed and fired at the beast. The pitiful creature was killed instantly as Lux shot through the creature’s eyes from a distance of 10 meters. Having never wielded a weapon before, he’d found the trajectory of the blaster bolt easily figured in his head from the various holocrons and books he’d read on technology of the sort and didn’t consider the feat something of note (although, had anyone else been around they would have told him otherwise).
For a year after his guardian's death, he prepared the late doctor's assets to allow him travel through the galaxy. Lux was keen on visiting the base planet of the Mandalorian clans to learn of their fascinating philosophy and history. At the age of 20, Lux left Arkania, bringing as much of the massive library as he could with him on his voyage. As a child Lux had discovered his destination to be the Concord Dawn through the many documents he'd read and viewed, he knew of the Karatos Plague, he knew of the vaccine, and he was determined to get it and join the ranks of these awesome survivalists. Through the use of the wealth left to him by the ancient Arkanian scientist, Lux easily paid for a ship, fuel, and supplies for his galactic travel.
It took about 5 months to reach his destination, utilizing both hyperjumps and pit stops along the way. In his spare time aboard the ship Lux trained himself for combat, using the various techniques he'd read about and memorized. Quickly he mastered marksmanship, using his ambidextrous nature to wield two blaster pistols at once. This led to a fond partiality towards a pair of heavy Arkanian blaster pistols that he’d continue to use throughout his career. He found himself proficient enough with a blade, though without a sparring partner he had difficulty developing his skills in unarmed combat.
Only a day from his projected arrival, Lux had a nasty first hand lesson of how harsh the universe could be. He was attacked by pirates who'd been scouting the area for an easy target, they thought they'd found one. He had been sleeping when a large jerk rattled his ship and he was jostled from bed. The pirate gunship had actually rammed into his own vehicle and forced a docking while at the same time shooting into Lux's craft and damaging the engines, effectively disabling the ship.
Lux grabbed his dual Arkanian heavy blaster pistols and hurried from his room. He reacted immediately to an almost instantaneous close encounter with a particularly large and hairy pirate with three shots to the brain at point blank. This alerted the pirate’s 6 comrades, three of which were shot down as they approached from either side of Lux. The last three pirates took longer to arrive and confronted Lux when he ventured closer to their ship. After shooting one in the throat, Lux received a heavy blow to the gut as a rather fast and strong Bothan delivered the unpleasant punch. Thinking quickly, Lux aimed upwards as he buckled and fired off five shots into the Bothan's lower jaw, emptying the content’s of his skull against the ceiling. The last pirate was a Rodian and somewhat of a coward. The pirate retreated to their small gunship in an effort to escape the fate of his comrades. Upon trying to dislodge his own ship from Lux's, the idiot Rodian tore open his own cockpit and opened a hole in Lux's craft. Exposed to the cold vacuum of space, the Rodian promptly exploded and froze while Lux retreated further into his own ship and sealed off the damaged rooms.
Unable to properly orbit, the small ship he piloted began descending too quickly while Lux tended to a severe burn he'd received to his shoulder in the attack. Rushing and struggling against the planet's pull, Lux was forced to make an emergency landing and crashed into the inhospitable planet a day early. With much of his training facilities and library destroyed, Lux dragged himself from the wreckage. Lux tried saving what records he could and managed to salvage a blaster pistol, rifle, and his dual Arkanian heavy pistols. He limped for about 3 miles before being discovered and taken in by a Mandalorian farmer and his wife. They tended his wounds and gave him food and a bed. They nursed him to health for about a week until he could walk easily and he left the couple with thanks, repaying what he could with his blaster rifle and light pistol as well as two data holocrons he'd already memorized. They directed him to the main base for the Mandalorian military. For two days he hiked in that direction and upon finally arriving he was turned away. Not about to give up so easily he related a few of the numerous troubling events he’d endured (pirate attack included) and was permitted admission. He was quickly inoculated with the Karatos Plague which he'd been lucky enough to avoid contracting while there and for the next several years he worked and trained as a Mandalorian soldier. He climbed the ranks quickly, using his high intellect and dexterity with a blaster to ascend among his peers. His skills were praised in the academy and he was quickly assigned to Special Ops, reflecting his keen ability to work alone, see in complete darkness, and kill from long distances.
A year after graduating from the academy, Lux was sent on a mission on a neighboring planet to assassinate a corrupt political leader. Shortly after arriving, he was confronted with suspicion at a local cantina while looking for much needed intel. A few patrons who supported his target got rough and threatened to call for the authorities, not keen on being caught up in a mess with the local government, he killed everyone there without mercy. He later sniped the politician through his office window before escaping in the diplomats own private vehicle. This mode of behavior set his reputation for the rest of his career as one of the most merciless and morally questionable individuals within the ranks of the Mandalorians, earning him the nickname of “The Lich”, for his cold nature. About three years after the assassination, he was sent to another mission to kill off an infamous smuggler. He was sent with a small squad of 4 men, himself included, all of which were volunteers. When they confronted the smuggler in a small spice warehouse Lux found himself surrounded by traitors. They'd been paid off to protect the target and inhibit any assassination attempts, after sustaining a rather nasty injury from a blasterbolt to the back, Lux retreated to their ship, upon which they'd brought numerous explosives. Intent on keeping their betrayal a secret, the three traitors pursued him into the craft only to find themselves locked in as Lux broke through the cockpit. None escaped as he jetted away and fired a wrist-rocket at the ship, detonating every bomb inside. After the incident he quickly destroyed the smugglers private hovercraft with a second wrist-rocket as the man tried to escape and promptly ordered a pickup back to Concord Dawn. For the next few years he had no more similar incidents, though his reputation as being cold and merciless was maintained throughout his time as a Mandolorian. Unfortunately he was slightly looked down upon for being physically weaker than most and in 10 years he only managed to reach the rank of Captain.
Although ambitious within the Mandalorian military, Lux’s intimidating reputation coupled with vicious rumors of inhumane experimentation impeded his progress and he gradually felt more and more boxed in within the very culture and society he’d admired through historical records throughout his adolescence.
Eventually, an answer came in the form of an encrypted signal sent out through the Galaxy by a Guild of apparent calamitous intent. Lux listened intently as the man thoroughly explained their purpose, becoming more interested with every transmitted syllable. Quickly, Lux used what knowledge he had of signals to track down the transmission that had been sent over a secure network. He had their location within 2 hours and promptly replied. Expressly impressed with his ability to track down their location, the Guild readily accepted him into their ranks.
Quickly Lux forsook the Mandalorian life he’d attempted for 10 years and packed his bags. He covertly commandeered a Viper-class ship and made his way to the Malifactor; the Guild’s base of operations. Lux was welcomed with open arms and was quickly appointed a High-Councilman and Head of the Science Department. It was while aboard the Malifactor that Lux made acquaintance with the first Dark side user he’d ever met. Her name was Serith though she was referred to as Mistress by all aboard the ship. Lux also made acquaintance with a peculiar construction droid that had gone haywire and developed some semblance of a personality on it’s own, the droid referred to itself as Excon Ackdem.
Lux was quickly charged with the establishment of the Guild’s Scientific Branch and he looked to Arkania. Quickly he tracked down three individuals, a couple of investors known as the Quertios and a rather wealthy man of corporate esteem known as Visari Netellus. Using his natural wit, he quickly caught the interest of both parties and formed the scientific branch of the Guild in the form of Ataxia Research and Development as a branch of Visari Enterprises with himself as Head Director and Chief Scientist.
Quickly, Lux’s acquaintance and subsequent favor with Visari proved a boon as He was promptly introduced to a sprouting faction of Sith who called themselves the Dominion. They were led by a man whom most referred to as “Shard.” Lux soon found himself in this man’s presence and The Dominion quickly became his biggest and most important client. In essence, Lux Teper works to design and produce technology to both be sold for profit and provided to Dominion as the meat and potatoes of their ever-growing military force. He cares little for the cause he fights for, rather, he finds solace and comfort in the one thing he’s always enjoyed; research.

"Your orders Captain?"
The sergeant was obviously nervous, the sound of him shaking made Lux want to spit.
"Stand back and let me do it..."
He turned his head towards the sergeant slightly, his armor making but a whisper of a scrape as he does so...
"And i hope that sound is just you shivering from the cold, sergeant."
The soldier quickly nodded,
"Of course sir, it's just the cold..."
The night was starless and chilled Lux's armor, the same armor he'd had since joining. He'd refused the newest design and insisted on something similar to the archaic look of the armor he'd seen in Demagol's Data Holocron. He was adamant that no other would due. And so he wore a much more outdated suit than that of his subordinates, he'd tell them it was for the challenge of having less technology and the thrill of danger but it was mostly a nostalgic affection for his childhood hero, something no Mandalorian would understand.
"Sir?"
A private spoke up.
"What?"
His tone was harsh for having his musings interupted...
"Which one's the target?"
Lux thought to himself, God I hate newbies...
Lux and three of his subordinates laid prone atop a roof, looking down upon a small gathering of men and a blue slavegirl with head-tails. The man holding her by the chain collar was fat, darkskinned and unshaven. He dressed gaudily and stood out like a light. He was their target, a wealthy slave trader who'd been riding the system too long and peeved the wrong people. Lux and his group of Mandalorians were hired as mercs to take out the man and his body guards.
Lux didn't care who died, the two body guards and the slave trader were all he wanted and if he had to kill everyone there he would...
"All of them."
Lux's finger tightened on the trigger of his rifle, it was the only one among them without a scope, he didn't need nightvision because, being an Arkanian, he could easily see in the dark. A loud "B-Pow!" rang in the night as a single shot flew through the air a good 30 yards and slammed straight into the fat man's throat, leaving him to fall backwards, choking as he died. His guards looked on in terror as their employer fell.
Another "B-pow!" rattled Lux's hands as the closest bodyguard to the fat man jolted and fell, a hole burned clear into his skull and obliterating his right eye.
The last was a blue man with black hair and red eyes, a strange species that Lux hadn't seen before, it intrigued him...
The last shots fired were two closely timed blasts, taking out the last bodyguards left knee and right thigh, buckling him over and onto the ground.
"Come."
"But sir-"
"I said Come!"
Lux stands and jumps, activating his jet pack and making his way down to the corpses and the Twi'lek slavegirl. He lands and the slave cowers in fear, backing away as Lux kneels over the agonizing blue man...
"Answer me and you may live.
What's your species?"
The man simply grimaced in pain and spat on Lux's helmet.
There was a sudden loud scream that phased into a gurgle and a choke as Lux brought a small serrated knife across the man's throat, spraying his own helmet and chest plate with crimson blood as the red-eyed man died before him.
"Disgusting cretin..."
He stands and looks at his soldiers,
"Take the body, I want to analyze it..."
The sergeant picked up the body and jetted off back to their ship. Lux looks at the bodies of his targets through the screen of blood on his helmet before suddenly hearing a high-pitched yelp. The Captain looks up to find the private holding a rather nasty looking knife up to the slavegirls throat...
"Private. Did I order you to kill her?"
"Y-yes sir, you said 'all of them'..."
The Private's voice shook with nervousness, he hadn't wanted to kill her or he'd have done it already...
"So I did..."
Lux turns and waves away any questions...
"Proceed."
Lux jets away, the high squeal of the Twi'lek's deathcry rings in his ears like a sigh of the wind. He'd have no mercy, and wouldn't allow it in his subordinates, there would be no turning back.
