Rank: Staff Sergeant
Name: Lanara Skysiri
Race: Rilan (custom race, link)
Age: 30
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 150lbs
Appearance:
Lanara's normal eye color is a honey yellow, however after believing that she saw her lover, Remiel Archibald, die in a hale of blaster fire her eyes have changed into a stony grey. The color representing emptiness. She has moderately long blonde (she recently dyed her hair, it was a soft brown) hair that hangs down just past her shoulders, though she generally ties it up in a bun or a pony tail. Despite the woman's past she has few scars on her body and she's since removed all of her tattoos. Save one, which is a pair of angel wings on her back. These wings aren't the cute little ones you see, but rather more the size of bird wings... and they end just at the small of her back.
Outside of her armor, she is generally seen wearing some kind of tight tee shirt, the bottom to a battle dress uniform, and combat boots. Althought, the woman does wear more feminine clothes when she chooses... she just feels more at home with her military style clothing. She is almost constantly wearing her necklace, which her mother gave to her when she was in high school, as a sort of keep sake to remember her late parents. The only time that she is not wearing it or has it on her person is on a mission or when it has a relatively high chance of being stolen. The same goes for the nearly two foot long feather in her hair, which was given to her by the supposed-late Remiel Archibald. It never leaves her person. In combat, she slips it into a sheath and under the breast plate of her armor.
Unless stated otherwise, the woman always has her MAP-77 pistol concealed on her form somewhere. Generally on the hip, covered by a simple leather jacket.

Bio:
As with all people, Lanara's story begins with her parents. Two Rilan Jedi, Victor Firians and Elsa Skysiri, met and fell in love on a mission. The two managed to hide their love for years, until Elsa found out that she was pregnant. So, the two fled to Corellia, and one year later they had their child, a beautiful baby girl whom they named "Lanara."
They decided that it was best to hide their... history... from Lanara, as well as their race. The former was rather obvious; they didn't want to lose her to the Jedi, but the latter... that was a little more complex. There were few Rilan around the galaxy, and the ones who ran around with any attachment to the last name "Firians" risked getting found by the Morequai and killed.
The Morequai were the rather... malevolent... rulers of Rilia, the Rilan home world. About 50 years prior to Lanara's birth there had been a prophesy that the descendants of the Contess, the former ruler of Rilia, would return to free the Rilans from the Morequai. The Firians were these descendants. Even though Lanara did not carry on her father's last name, she was still at risk, and that is why they did not tell Lana that she was a Rilan.
She had a rather happy and care free childhood; she would often go out and play with the other children in her apartment complex, and throughout her early years her only real concern was one thing: when mommy was cooking dinner. To say that Lanara and her father were close would be an understatement. Lana would often go with her father to work, though all she ever did was play with her toys or carry on a rather cute conversation with her daddy, she was called "Daddy's little helper" more often than not.
The shy little girl mostly kept to herself at school, for the first few days she cried for her daddy... and threw a toy at a boy who said something about her being a crybaby. In the coming weeks she slowly came out of her shell, however, the girl even found school to be somewhat enjoyable. Of course, the toys, stories, snack times, and once hourly naps helped the situation out some.
The next three grades of school where an absolute blast, until she experienced the cruelty of children. A human boy began to pick on her because of her eyes, which changed colors with her emotional shifts, she tried her best to shrug it off... but it was hard. Until one day she came home crying with a bruise on her shoulder and flaming red eyes, that little boy hit her. That is when Victor decided that it was best to begin to teach his daughter martial arts. Teras Kasi to be more precise.
For the next few weeks she endured his taunts, saying and doing little in retaliation. Until one day he tried to hit her again, figuring that action would get her attention. It most certainly got her attention, but it was not the greatest of ideas. He ended up on his back, balling his eyes out... though that was a minor pain compared to the embarrassment of being "beaten up" by a girl.
She flew through school with ease, little Lanara even managed to complete the next 6 grades grades in five school years. During that period in her life she went through a lot of first times; first boy friend, first falling out, first training bra, first speeder, at times it was great... and other times... not so great. It was during this time that her father gave Lanara a necklace, it was the most beautiful thing that she ever saw. It was made of flowing and twisting silver lines that curved into a midnight black gem, which had strange letters etched into it. These words were in Rilan and it was a family heirloom that dated back to when the Contess ruled over Rilia, not that Lanara knew that. She still wears it to this day.
By her twelfth and final year in school her father had taught his daughter all that he could about martial arts, both defensive and offensive. This proved to be a blessing for Lanara, and a curse for her soon to be ex boyfriend... who left her for another girl, whom Lanara hated to no end by the way.
The Rilan was infuriated when she learned that her boy friend left her, so angry in fact that her the hue of her eyes went black. That was her color for extreme, near immeasurable anger. Yet, strangely, she could control herself... limiting her retaliation to property. When her Ex's new play thing tried to fight Lanara things didn't end up so pretty on the the play things side; She ended up with a broken arm, two black eyes, and many bruises.
Her anger was finally beginning to subside, until Victor and Elsa told her of their past...
17 - 22[/center]
After she graduated from high school Lanara's parents approached her and explained what they were, why they left the order, and why they hid this fact from her for so long. To say that she was infuriated was an understatement. Lanara felt as if her parents stole her birthright, knowledge and manipulation of the Force, from her. Almost instantly the girl went down to the Naval recruiter's office and signed up with the Republic Navy as a marine. Lanara lied about her age so that she could get into the military a year early and as far as her parents knew she just ran away from home. About one year later, after Boot camp and her MOS training, she contacted her parents to tell them where she was. While most would consider this an act of mercy, Lanara considered it another way to spite her parents, she knew that the military was the last place that they wanted her.
Over the next few years she went on many missions with her platoon, most of them where against pirates, rebels, and even the occasional terrorist cell. During her short career in the regular Corps she garnered a huge respect for the... ingenuity... of the lawless, many of her friends were lost to the often overly-complex booby traps that pirates left in their bloody wake. She proved herself time and time again during her deployments, once on a mission above Tatooine she saved a member of her platoon that was pinned down by intense pirate fire and could not get back to the shuttle so that the pirate ship could be destroyed by the Cruiser's rather sizeable guns. Against the orders of her lieutenant she ran back into a maelstrom of blaster bolts and saved the man, she took a few blaster bolts but otherwise turned out alright. After the incedent her Lieutenant tried to have her thrown out of the Corps for ignoring his order.
He was laughed out of the Company CO's office.
For her galiant acts in the face of incredible danger, Sergeant Lanara Jenner recieved the Star of the Republic, on of the highest honors that the Republic could bestow. It was on this day that she was approached by a man, a Colonel in the Navy by the name of Lytle Byron, and he offered to have her go through selection, boot camp for Spec Ops, and if she passed selection she would be put into a NavSpecWar unit. Seeing this as another chance to prove herself, Lanara took the man up on his offer. That night she went to sleep in her bunk on the RSS Defiant.
She awoke at the edge of the cliff with a crudely drawn map and a note that read "Get to the shuttle by 0330"
As it turned out, there had been 59 other prospects other than her, and the last one was left behind on the hostile planet. Naturally, the Republic would not have left the last man to die, those sixty men and women were the best of the best of the best, that last man would just have to wait a few days for the next shuttle to pick him up. For the first time in Lanara's life, she was not in first place, but she was most certainly not the last either. This only fueled her drive to win, and at the end of the three month program she was one of only 4 people selected to join the SO BDE along with two unmentionable people, and Tyren "Rex" Berik.
The next 3 years included many missions, most of them were ship borne hostage rescue missions or three man assassinations, it was during these time that Lanara really developed the skills that would assist in her next career, which would happen to be on the less-than-legal side of the law.
Lanara was 25 when she was assigned to a new unit, which was dubbed the "Hell hounds," they were a group of the super elite whose sole purpose was basically to ferret out and "silence" any dissidence in the Republic. It was during these three years that she more or less perfected her skills in hunting, tracking, and just about everything she would need to be a decent bounty hunter. She was also designated AER-08 "Ector" shortly thereafter, she had a tendency to get up in the heat and needed a partner to protect her, especially one with an energy shield.
Though at first she was rather cold to the droid, Lanara not only grew to like Ector, but to love him. After a few short weeks of being in his presence constantly she began to consider him part of her... a non-living part... but a part nonetheless.
About three years into their service with the hell hounds Lanara and Ector were sent to Balosar to "silence" a drug dealer who managed to get his hands on some rather... critical... information regarding the military communication encryption codes and was threatening to sell them off to the Sith Empire if the Republic did not pay an outrageous sum.
It took them months to find, then infiltrate the ring, then finally set up and execute the hit. Every single part of the plan ran like a well oiled machine... except the exit plan. In killing the Drug Dealer they stirred up a hornets nest in his (not so) little hideout, a huge fight ensued. In the confusion little Ector was hit by an Ion Rifle, temporarily knocking out his systems. Lanara was already out of the building, assuming that Ector was with her.
The drug dealing ring was later raided by a H.A.L.O.A.T.W squad, and Ector was recovered. It took him a few weeks for his system to fully reboot from the blast he took, but when he did the little droid was reassigned to a new partner and not Lanara. She had retired from active duty during those weeks. He assumed that she was dead, and she surmised the same.
To say that Lanara was crushed would be an understatement, and to be honest... she was the happy go lucky woman that the Firians side of the family seemed to inspire. Until that day. After that she was a mere shadow of what she once was... while she did have her "up" days, most were bad. She decided not to re-up her contract less than a week after she lost her companion. If she only waited another week she would have been reunited with him.
The great thing about serving in the military is that you have little to no expenses, so after 11 years of seving (and 6 of those years being in spec ops) you wind up with a good chunk of change. She spent almost all of her money from those years in the military on two things: 1) A suit of brand new armor and (2) A Heavy Blaster Carbine.
One of her first jobs as a mercenary, along with her long time friend Rex Berik, was to rescue the kidnapped wife of a senator from Balosar. The kidnappers were blackmailing the senator into voting against a particularly important bill that would help to topple their little drug dealing ring on the planet. This was most certainly their cup of tea.
It still took them months to find their quarry, and they had to infiltrate their organization as potential enlistees. When they struck, they did it hard and fast... most of the men were dead before they knew what was going on. They left the leaders of the ring alive and brought them back to the Senator, who in turn submitted them to the authorities. They received a very pretty penny from that job, more than enough for them to buy a ship and hire a decent crew.
The first thing that she did was go back to Corellia so that she could visit her parents. She felt terrible about her actions towards them earlier in her life, and wanted was seeking forgiveness. The woman returned to find that her parents were long gone, and after some asking around she discovered that they had both been killed, by a Dark Jedi no less. Lanara's eye color shifted from her natural brown to a deep blue as she realized that her parents died thinking that she was still angry with them.
With a heavy heart she returned to the Event Horizon, her ship, and lifted off of Corellia... never to return by choice. Her next job was to steal a rather important (and expensive) artifact from a rich conneisur of ancient blaster weapons. The job went on without incident, from Lanara's stand point at least.
Her final notable job with her crew was rent-a-cop duty on Coruscant, times had gotten tough and that was all that was the only job that she could get a hold of. Lana was to simply guard the prison, but instead she ended up helping 3 of the prisoners escape with the help of Remiel Archibald, a Rilan Grey Jedi. The Event Horizon, and her crew were lost during the initial events... and she took the death of her long time friend and minor love interest, Rex, particularly hard.
To make matters worse the pirate who agreed to pay her twice the amount that her former employer offered left her to die in the prison, lifting off before she could board. She would have been hauled off to jail if it wasn't for Sylbia, one of the three that she agreed to break from the prison, she would still be rotting in jail.
The two fled to Zeltros, where they met up with a who called himself Ocelot, was starting up a Mercenary crew. Seeing as she lost her crew, she was more than happy to join up with the man. Their first job was a smuggling run that started on Balosar...
