His eyebrows are thick, and are arched ever so slightly, he was told all his childhood, that he had his mother's eyebrows. Vortigern has a suit of armor that employs an energized exoskeleton that includes a series of servomotors. These characteristics enhance Vortigern's strength. It is crafted of Phrik plates. It is gold colored with a black tint around the edges. He also has a pair of electrobinoculars, a power lamp that can create a beam of light up to 100 meters long and 50 meters wide. Vortigern also has a comlink that allows Vortigern to communicate at a range of 100 kilometers with full encryption capabilities.

Vortigern wears clothes of the finest quality. In his palace and in times of peace, he wears black robes with an emerald green trim, a black handwoven tunic that was made on Vjun is clasped over his robes with a gold clasp. The robes and cloak are lined with armorweave as protective measures. On his feet are black dress boots made from rare Rancor leather.

Early Years: The Birth of Prince Vortigern Procyon
Prince Vortigern Procyon, was born in Cinnagar the planet Empress Teta's capital city. He was the only child of King Emrys Procyon and his consort, Queen Andromeda Pollux of Chandrila. From the beginning of his life, Vortigern was privelaged and would be destined to experience the finest things life had to offer. Vortigern was pampered beyond belief, with the finest clothes and the finest everything. **
Between the ages of two and six, Vortigern was just like every other child. Though of course, he wasn't like every child. He was the crown Prince, and when Diplomats would come to pay Emrys a visit at the Palace, they would always bring something from their planet to Vortigern, as what they called "A token of good faith."
By the time Vortigern had reached the age of six, he was raised to be a a perfect diplomat, and he had been taken to diplomatic meetings on Empress Teta and even a few close-by planets since he was four. Emrys knew Vortigern probably didn't understand most of it, but he knew if he started showing how Diplomatic meetings work at a young age, Vortigern would realize more when he was older*. Not only was Vortigern taught by his father, but Emrys had some of Empress Teta's finest Diplomats and Negotiators. What he saw as useless at the time, he would come to realize in just a few years time, that all his teachings and being taken to diplomatic meetings, was to prepare him to inherit the throne.
Ages Six to Nine: Intense Schooling and Inheriting the Throne
After Vortigern and King Emrys had returned from a diplomatic meeting on Coruscant, Vortigern learned that he was being enrolled in the best school that Empress Teta had to offer. The school was located at the other side of the planet, but still in Cinnagar. At first, he didn't want to leave his parents, but he eventually came to love that school, and thought of it as a second home.
During his time at school, Vortigern was taught every thing that could be taught to a child. He especially loved to learn about the history of the planet, and it's involvment in the Great Hyperspace War. Of course, his teachings were light at first, as he grew older and more able to handle a bigger school work load, he was taught more and more.
"Vortigern has a craving for knowledge. He wishes to learn as much as he can as quickly as he can. Some of the other students have come to resent his craving for knowledge, because they feel he is cheating in some way, to get the marks he does. I just believe Vortigern is a smart young child." -Professor Markus Tskar
Vortigern stayed at that school, only returning to the Empress Teta Palace, when school was out. During these breif two months, Vortigern was taken to watch diplomatic meetings and military drills, with King Emrys always telling him "One day, this will all be yours. You need to watch and learn."

One day, when Vortigern was nine, and returned to school after a breif vacation, he was pulled out of classes and told some grave news. King Emrys had died from Hyperspace Pox, a deadly disease that caused Emrys great pain and extreme weight loss. Vortigern noticed this change in his father's appearence, but attributed it to stress or some other non-lethal factor. Anyways, Vortigern was now King of Empress Teta at the age of nine.
Ages Nine to Eighteen: Empress Teta Ruled by a Regent
Vortigern, was still obviously too young to rule an entire planet, so power passed to Emrys' brother, Lord Crux Procyon. Crux was a cruel man who favored military power over economic growth. While Vortigern continued his schooling, Crux ruled Empress Teta with an iron fist.
From the ages of nine to twelve, Vortigern was banished from Empress Teta's palace by orders of "King" Crux, and Vortigern's mother Andromeda was imprisoned by Crux for what he called "High treason." Vortigern hated his uncle's abuse of power, especially with Crux doing what he wanted when he wanted. Vortigern didn't feel like that was how a King should act. Vortigern especially hated how Crux treated his mother, but still not even fully grown there wasn't much he could do.
By the time Vortigern had reached the age of thirteen, Empress Teta was a very powerful military planet but it's people were living in near poverty, and any protest by the people was crushed by Crux's assasins. Vortigern, now able to properly handle weapons, was enrolled in an intense military-style training regiment, and was trained in the art of war and in the use of weapons. Crux felt that he had nothing to fear from Vortigern, and allowed him to continue the schooling plan set by Emrys.
This was his life for five more years, until on his eighteenth birthday, he left school and saying he was now the true King of Empress Teta, entered Empress Teta's Palace and demanded Crux give up the throne to him. Crux merely laughed before spating at Vortigern's feet. Crux had his soldiers arrest Vortigern, on the same trumped-up charge he had arrested Queen Andromeda on nine years earlier. Vortigern was taken to a high-security prison located in the Iron Citadel, where he was forced to stay for four months eating nothing but old Republic military rashions. The time in prison, wasn't wasted though, Vortigern used the time to get his body into perfect shape. Vortigern had slacked off in his training so much, that he was unfit to continue running the drills, and was kicked out of the school for "Lack of effort." The following is a transcript as to why Vortigern was kicked out:
"File # 2234998. Subject: King Vortigern Procyon.
Granted the subject is to be our new and noble leader, he has let himself get so out of shape, he cannot even do the prescribed military training regiments. We have done the best we can with him, but we are no longer able to train him as he seems unwilling to go any farther with it."
Four months after he was thrown in prison, in the dead of night, a team of guards entered Vortigern's cell and told him to hurry up and follow them. Vortigern was rather skeptical at first, but eventually after they convinced him they were helping him escape, he followed them. Tragedy struck, when almost out of the Citadel, they were spotted, and the guards tossed him onto their waiting speeder and told him to flee. Vortigern fled the Citadel, but didn't know where to go after that, as the entire planet was under the control of his deranged uncle.
For seven months, Vortigern hid out in an old cantina, located on the other side of Cinnagar, far from the Palace, near Vortigern's old school. disguising himself as a drunk, and sporting a full beard and almost always wearing a hood. Eventually, his disguise was figured out, as he was spotted by one of his old teachers who had since joined the ETLF. Eventually, the teacher pointed the ETLF in Vortigern's direction, and he was approached by members of the Resistance, which comprised of a powerful military arm who were angered at Crux's abuse of power. This group, called the Empress Teta Liberation Front to Restore the Usurped King (ETLFRTUK) or more simply the Empress Teta Liberation Front (ETLF), convinced Vortigern to join them.
Ages Nineteen to Twenty: The War Against Crux
After joining the ETLF, Vortigern was smuggled deep into one of Empress Teta forests, to the ETLF training ground, where new recruits, mainly ordinary citizens wronged by Crux or his policies, could be trained and supplied. Most of the supplies were old and damaged slightly, but still useable. It was here, where Vortigern stayed for a year, to train the men and recieve a small bit of training himself. A few ETLF were former high-ranking Empress Teta military, who deserted and joined the ETLF.
On the eve of Vortigern's twentieth birthday, he was told of a mission, only known as "Operation Emrys," which was the ETLF's all or nothing fight. King Crux had alienated himself from the Republic due to his actions as King, and Republic troops had been withdrawn from Empress Teta, as well as Republic ships and the promise of any aid in case Empress Teta is attacked.
Operation Emrys, commenced at sunrise the next morning, with ETLF troops assaulting the Citadel and Palace head-on. They knew the casualties would be extreme, but they had to buy Vortigern some time to enter the palace with the ETLF Vanguard, and hunt down Crux. Vortigern aided in the assault, on the Palace grounds, and eventually, he and the Vanguard entered the Palace, and located Crux in his throne room with his bodyguards.
After a brutal fight, in which Vortigern was injured by a blaster shot to the right thigh and a vibroblade slash across his right eye, the ETLF Vanguard won, and Crux was surrounded. Swearing at the men and cursing at Vortigern, Crux declared "I have done everything for my people." With those final words, Vortigern ordered Crux to be executed. At sundown, Crux lay dead, and Vortigern was on the Empress Teta throne.
"Today is a great victory for Empress Teta. The tyranny you faced under my now deceased Uncle Crux is over. You will have every economic oppourtunity, but don't believe for a minute I will stop expanding our army. I will not sacrafice planetary safety for economic safety, but I unlike my uncle will give money back to the people and allow people from the lower-class to rise to the top if they work hard enough and earn it. Empress Teta is free." -King Vortigern Procyon on the morning after he took the throne that was usurped from him.
Ages Twenty to Present: The Reigning King of Empress Teta
After claiming the throne that was rightfully his, Vortigern, re-established ties with the Republic and promised a new era. One of prosperity and great economic prosperity for Empress Teta. Vortigern released his mother, but her time in prison had greatly weakened her, and she died two months after her realease. This was a time of great mourning for Vortigern, and he allowed his most trusted aid, General Viscinti Hexxar, to rule in his stead for two months. General Hexxar was one of the ETLF Vanguard, who accompanied Vortigern into the palace when they were battling Crux. Hexxar wasn't as lucky as Vortigern, and lost both an arm and a leg in the fighting.
Once his time of mourning was over, Vortigern reclaimed the throne and continiued to rule Empress Teta. On the day of his twenty-first birthday, Vortigern was approached by a millionaire weapons manufacturer and from Kuat with an offer. The businessman offered his daughter, Adara, in marriage. Adara had breath-taking beauty, and Vortigern agreed. He felt a pact between the two powerful military planets would be good for both Empress Teta and the Republic. Empress Teta was reknown for their weapons and Kuat for their Ships, it was a perfect diplomatic move. They were married two months later.
Immediatly after his marriage to Adara, Vortigern cut back on government spending, and started to give money back to his people to help them get back on their feet after the harsh rule of his uncle. Vortigern, was also away from Liberatore Palace, for long stretches of time, so he could watch over military operations. Vortigern would also occasionally visit some of the areas that were affected the worst by his Uncle's reign.
Three years after their marriage, Adara gave birth to a son, Prince Emrys Procyon II. Vortigern had it all, and now with his people prospering and his planet economically flourishing, Vortigern was at the top of his game.
Feeling rather secure in his power, Vortigern removed some of the ETLA he had placed in government offices, and allowed the people to choose who would represent them in the Senate. The people chose Bin Lostarz, a well known and well-respected Empress Teta weapons manufacturer. At first, Vortigern was rather skeptical about Bin being elected, for Vortigern feared he would favor war to bring in profits for his business, but Bin chose to be neutral and a great choice for the Senate.
The removal of many of their members from government prominice, angered the ETLF, and they began to reform themselves against Vortigern. As the ETLF said in a charter stolen during an Empress Teta raid on one of their training grounds:
"King Vortigern has corrupted his puropse as King, and is now making Empress Teta a Kath Hound, curled at the Republic's feet. He has not done actions that have aided the people, but has done his actions to benefit the Republic. As he is our king, he must work for the benefit of the people, and if he doesn't we, the Empress Teta Liberation Front, have the right to remove him from power and replace him with someone who will work for the good of the people." -A passage from a stolen ETLF charter
For the next eight years, the ETLF launched guerilla warfare tactics and actions of assassination against Vortigern and high-ranking members of Vortigern's government. Empress Teta was held in a state of panic, and for the first time in many years, the Iron Citadel lay deserted for fear of ETLF assault if they were to convene. Eventually, Vortigern had enough, and ordered all ETLF members to be rounded up and imprisoned.
"The ETLF have stopped progress and life on Empress Teta for too long. I shall not stand for it any more, I will end this on my terms." -Vortigern's proclomation declaring all ETLF to be arrested.
This came to a head, when an Empress Teta prison ship, was attacked in space while transporting captured ETLF members to a prison on Coruscant. The attackers were a large group of pirates and mercenaries who left none alive, and caused the prison ship to crash into a heavily populated area on Empress Teta. The pirates and mercenaries were later linked to the ETLF by the man leading the attackers, a well known and high-ranking ETLF commander named Verestesious Gornuk. Gornuk was later arrested and confessed to the assault on the prison ship. Vortigern realized his tactics weren't working, and agreed to have a sit down with ETLF commanders and hear their terms. After a month of intense negotiation, both sides agreed to an end of hostilities if Vortigern promised to have an ETLF represenative aid Senator Bin Lostarz. Vortigern agreed for the safety of his people.
One year after the Empress Teta-ETLF Cease-fire, Adara gave birth to a second child, this time a daughter, Princess Andromeda Procyon. Not too long after Andromeda's birth, Vortigern removed the ETLF appointee from the Senate after proof came up that he was taking bribes. The ETLF didn't like that and they resumed their guerilla warfare tactics against Vortigern. The Second Empress Teta-ETLF War would last for two years, until almost all the ETLF were either rounded up and imprisoned or killed.
Any remaining ETF members fled Empress Teta and their whereabouts were unknown, until recently, when Senator Bin Lostarz was assassinated by the ETLF. Vortigern swore to end the ETLF reign of terror, and two months after his thirty-fifth birthday he did. All ETLF were either killed or imprisoned, thus ending the Second Empress Teta-ETLF War, hopefully for good.
"The ETLF are dissolved. By the might of the Republic and our great planet, they have been eradicated and can threaten us no longer. I wish to thank all those who participated in the effort to eliminate the ETLF. My heart goes out to those affected by the ETLF and those killed by them." -A statement made by King Vortigern Procyon, announcing the end of the Second Empress Teta-ETLF War.

King Vortigern Procyon of Empress Teta and his bodyguards, were walking down a busy street on Coruscant. Vortigern was there on the request of the Senate, to tell of important events of Empress Teta. Normally, this would have been the job of Senator Bin Lostarz, but as Senator Lostarz was recently assasinated by an ETLF resurgence group, and his successor had fled Empress Teta in fear of his life, Vortigern had yet to name a successor.
Turning to face one of his bodyguards, a Frax Frogal, Vortigern smiled and said "You know what? It would be great if Coruscant gave itself over to us. We could use the extra land to fit in all the egos of the Empress Teta Generals!" and there was a smidge of laughter, but suddenly, there was the sound of a blaster and Vortigern was on the ground, clutching his chest.
His bodyguards swarmed around him, and yelled "Assassin!" and he saw someone's back, running away like a Hutt runs away from a shower. Vortigern heard blaster fire, and then he saw the same guy collapse on the ground, and not move anymore. Frax turned around, and bent low over Vortigern to check his vitals. "He's Alive!" Frax shouted. Smiling weakly, Vortigern asked "Did you get him?" and then the world went black.
EIGHT HOURS LATER, Medical Ward in Coruscant
When Vortigern woke up, he saw that he was laying in an all white room, with a Medical Droid buzzing around. Sitting up on his elbows, he saw that all his bodyguards sat either in the room with him, or standing at the entrance to his room. Frax came over and said "Good to see you up my Lord." Vortigern smiled at Frax and asked "Who shot me?"
Frax frowned and said "An ETLF assassin. We killed him though, I wish we hadn't, because now we won't know who sent him. Just get some rest, and heal up. The Senate has granted you a reprieve until you heal up, and are investigating this matter. Don't worry about us, or your family, the Empress Teta Palace is the safest place for them right now." Vortigern sensed the truth of Frax's words, and when he laid down, Frax turned on his heel and resumed his guard at the door.
*I didn't know how to properly word it, but an example would be if you start talking to a baby from birth, they are supposed to learn to speak quicker. That is how Emrys felt about Vortigern, if he was around Diplomats from a young age, he would be a better Diplomat when he was older.

Eventually, the teacher pointed the ETLF in Vortigern's direction, and he was approached by members of the Resistance, which comprised of a powerful military arm who were angered at Crux's abuse of power. This group, called the Empress Teta Liberation Front to Restore the Usurped King (ETLFRTUK) or more simply the Empress Teta Liberation Front (ETLF), convinced Vortigern to join them.
Ages Nineteen to Twenty: The War Against Crux
After joining the ETLF, Vortigern was smuggled deep into one of Empress Teta forests, to the ETLF training ground, where new recruits, mainly ordinary citizens wronged by Crux or his policies, could be trained and supplied. Most of the supplies were old and damaged slightly, but still useable. It was here, where Vortigern stayed for a year, to train the men and recieve a small bit of training himself. A few ETLF were former high-ranking Empress Teta military, who deserted and joined the ETLF.
On the eve of Vortigern's twentieth birthday, he was told of a mission, only known as "Operation Emrys," which was the ETLF's all or nothing fight. King Crux had alienated himself from the Republic due to his actions as King, and Republic troops had been withdrawn from Empress Teta, as well as Republic ships and the promise of any aid in case Empress Teta is attacked.
Operation Emrys, commenced at sunrise the next morning, with ETLF troops assaulting the Citadel and Palace head-on. They knew the casualties would be extreme, but they had to buy Vortigern some time to enter the palace with the ETLF Vanguard, and hunt down Crux. Vortigern aided in the assault, on the Palace grounds, and eventually, he and the Vanguard entered the Palace, and located Crux in his throne room with his bodyguards.
After a brutal fight, in which Vortigern was injured by a blaster shot to the right thigh and a vibroblade slash across his right eye, the ETLF Vanguard won, and Crux was surrounded. Swearing at the men and cursing at Vortigern, Crux declared "I have done everything for my people." With those final words, Vortigern ordered Crux to be executed. At sundown, Crux lay dead, and Vortigern was on the Empress Teta throne.
"Today is a great victory for Empress Teta. The tyranny you faced under my now deceased Uncle Crux is over. You will have every economic oppourtunity, but don't believe for a minute I will stop expanding our army. I will not sacrafice planetary safety for economic safety, but I unlike my uncle will give money back to the people and allow people from the lower-class to rise to the top if they work hard enough and earn it. Empress Teta is free." -King Vortigern Procyon on the morning after he took the throne that was usurped from him.
Ages Twenty to Present: The Reigning King of Empress Teta
After claiming the throne that was rightfully his, Vortigern, re-established ties with the Republic and promised a new era. One of prosperity and great economic prosperity for Empress Teta. Vortigern released his mother, but her time in prison had greatly weakened her, and she died two months after her realease. This was a time of great mourning for Vortigern, and he allowed his most trusted aid, General Viscinti Hexxar, to rule in his stead for two months. General Hexxar was one of the ETLF Vanguard, who accompanied Vortigern into the palace when they were battling Crux. Hexxar wasn't as lucky as Vortigern, and lost both an arm and a leg in the fighting.
Once his time of mourning was over, Vortigern reclaimed the throne and continiued to rule Empress Teta. On the day of his twenty-first birthday, Vortigern was approached by a millionaire weapons manufacturer and from Kuat with an offer. The businessman offered his daughter, Adara, in marriage. Adara had breath-taking beauty, and Vortigern agreed. He felt a pact between the two powerful military planets would be good for both Empress Teta and the Republic. Empress Teta was reknown for their weapons and Kuat for their Ships, it was a perfect diplomatic move. They were married two months later.
Immediatly after his marriage to Adara, Vortigern cut back on government spending, and started to give money back to his people to help them get back on their feet after the harsh rule of his uncle. Vortigern, was also away from Liberatore Palace, for long stretches of time, so he could watch over military operations. Vortigern would also occasionally visit some of the areas that were affected the worst by his Uncle's reign.
Three years after their marriage, Adara gave birth to a son, Prince Emrys Procyon II. Vortigern had it all, and now with his people prospering and his planet economically flourishing, Vortigern was at the top of his game.
Feeling rather secure in his power, Vortigern removed some of the ETLA he had placed in government offices, and allowed the people to choose who would represent them in the Senate. The people chose Bin Lostarz, a well known and well-respected Empress Teta weapons manufacturer. At first, Vortigern was rather skeptical about Bin being elected, for Vortigern feared he would favor war to bring in profits for his business, but Bin chose to be neutral and a great choice for the Senate.
The removal of many of their members from government prominice, angered the ETLF, and they began to reform themselves against Vortigern. As the ETLF said in a charter stolen during an Empress Teta raid on one of their training grounds:
"King Vortigern has corrupted his puropse as King, and is now making Empress Teta a Kath Hound, curled at the Republic's feet. He has not done actions that have aided the people, but has done his actions to benefit the Republic. As he is our king, he must work for the benefit of the people, and if he doesn't we, the Empress Teta Liberation Front, have the right to remove him from power and replace him with someone who will work for the good of the people." -A passage from a stolen ETLF charter
For the next eight years, the ETLF launched guerilla warfare tactics and actions of assassination against Vortigern and high-ranking members of Vortigern's government. Empress Teta was held in a state of panic, and for the first time in many years, the Iron Citadel lay deserted for fear of ETLF assault if they were to convene. Eventually, Vortigern had enough, and ordered all ETLF members to be rounded up and imprisoned.
"The ETLF have stopped progress and life on Empress Teta for too long. I shall not stand for it any more, I will end this on my terms." -Vortigern's proclomation declaring all ETLF to be arrested.
This came to a head, when an Empress Teta prison ship, was attacked in space while transporting captured ETLF members to a prison on Coruscant. The attackers were a large group of pirates and mercenaries who left none alive, and caused the prison ship to crash into a heavily populated area on Empress Teta. The pirates and mercenaries were later linked to the ETLF by the man leading the attackers, a well known and high-ranking ETLF commander named Verestesious Gornuk. Gornuk was later arrested and confessed to the assault on the prison ship. Vortigern realized his tactics weren't working, and agreed to have a sit down with ETLF commanders and hear their terms. After a month of intense negotiation, both sides agreed to an end of hostilities if Vortigern promised to have an ETLF represenative aid Senator Bin Lostarz. Vortigern agreed for the safety of his people.
One year after the Empress Teta-ETLF Cease-fire, Adara gave birth to a second child, this time a daughter, Princess Andromeda Procyon. Not too long after Andromeda's birth, Vortigern removed the ETLF appointee from the Senate after proof came up that he was taking bribes. The ETLF didn't like that and they resumed their guerilla warfare tactics against Vortigern. The Second Empress Teta-ETLF War would last for two years, until almost all the ETLF were either rounded up and imprisoned or killed.
Any remaining ETF members fled Empress Teta and their whereabouts were unknown, until recently, when Senator Bin Lostarz was assassinated by the ETLF. Vortigern swore to end the ETLF reign of terror, and two months after his thirty-fifth birthday he did. All ETLF were either killed or imprisoned, thus ending the Second Empress Teta-ETLF War, hopefully for good.
"The ETLF are dissolved. By the might of the Republic and our great planet, they have been eradicated and can threaten us no longer. I wish to thank all those who participated in the effort to eliminate the ETLF. My heart goes out to those affected by the ETLF and those killed by them." -A statement made by King Vortigern Procyon, announcing the end of the Second Empress Teta-ETLF War.

King Vortigern Procyon of Empress Teta and his bodyguards, were walking down a busy street on Coruscant. Vortigern was there on the request of the Senate, to tell of important events of Empress Teta. Normally, this would have been the job of Senator Bin Lostarz, but as Senator Lostarz was recently assasinated by an ETLF resurgence group, and his successor had fled Empress Teta in fear of his life, Vortigern had yet to name a successor.
Turning to face one of his bodyguards, a Frax Frogal, Vortigern smiled and said "You know what? It would be great if Coruscant gave itself over to us. We could use the extra land to fit in all the egos of the Empress Teta Generals!" and there was a smidge of laughter, but suddenly, there was the sound of a blaster and Vortigern was on the ground, clutching his chest.
His bodyguards swarmed around him, and yelled "Assassin!" and he saw someone's back, running away like a Hutt runs away from a shower. Vortigern heard blaster fire, and then he saw the same guy collapse on the ground, and not move anymore. Frax turned around, and bent low over Vortigern to check his vitals. "He's Alive!" Frax shouted. Smiling weakly, Vortigern asked "Did you get him?" and then the world went black.
EIGHT HOURS LATER, Medical Ward in Coruscant
When Vortigern woke up, he saw that he was laying in an all white room, with a Medical Droid buzzing around. Sitting up on his elbows, he saw that all his bodyguards sat either in the room with him, or standing at the entrance to his room. Frax came over and said "Good to see you up my Lord." Vortigern smiled at Frax and asked "Who shot me?"
Frax frowned and said "An ETLF assassin. We killed him though, I wish we hadn't, because now we won't know who sent him. Just get some rest, and heal up. The Senate has granted you a reprieve until you heal up, and are investigating this matter. Don't worry about us, or your family, the Empress Teta Palace is the safest place for them right now." Vortigern sensed the truth of Frax's words, and when he laid down, Frax turned on his heel and resumed his guard at the door.
*I didn't know how to properly word it, but an example would be if you start talking to a baby from birth, they are supposed to learn to speak quicker. That is how Emrys felt about Vortigern, if he was around Diplomats from a young age, he would be a better Diplomat when he was older.
