Before entering the ship, Han placed a hand on the cool surface of the vessel. Take us safely, he muttered under his breath. despite his feelings about flying, he himself was an accomplished pilot. He supposed it was his most recent adventure that unsettled him now. Jumping from a space craft into free fall to try and land safely on a planet's surface gave him an appreciation for the ground. Specifically staying on it.
Upon climbing the ramp he hit the panel that raised the deck. He shuffled into the cockpit and setteled in the copilot chair. He worked, for a moment silent, on entering the destination into the navigation system. Then he finally spoke, We are heading to Ossus of the Adega system. Former home the Jedi and once the primary library and storage facility of the Jedi. The planet was devastated in a Sith attack leaving the world barren. Hopefully the underground structures will be untouched. Rumor has it the ancient Jedi Masters stumbled upon an artifact that will help us in our journey.
Under normal circumstances he would offer a lesson. Though with the restricted space, he sided with letting Phoenix take the lead in conversation. The girl may have come across a question in her rest. Again, Jahn would be completely open with her. From the complexes of the Force to specific questions about himself, she had a right to know.

Phoenix finished her checks as Jahn settled into the copilot chair. She raised the landing gear and the ship hovered for a moment before she pulled back on the controls and they began to rise. Clearing the hangar, Phoenix turned the ship and pointed it skyward. Giving the engines a little more juice, they began a steady ascent. During this, she listened as Jahn explained their destination.
Her eyebrow raised as he spoke. She had never known of this place, much less its significance. One more secret the Jedi kept from her. Well, no more. Jahn would not keep knowledge from her, she knew this. She smiled as the ship exited the atmosphere. Soon, she engaged the hyperdrive. It wouldn't take long for them to arrive at their destination. It wouldn't take long before she and Jahn would study the truth about the force. She would learn the secrets the greedy council hoped to keep hidden. She wondered if even the story about a Sith attack was true, or if it was an invention of the Jedi masters in order to keep others from discovering their secrets.
Phoenix turned to Jahn. She sensed his pause after speaking, and felt that it was her turn. He left space for her input or questions. And she did have a question. She almost began with the word master, but stopped. At the cantina, Jahn had made it clear that he would serve as her guide and instructor where necessary, but he didn't want the mantle of master. Now she understood something within herself. She had readily called him master because she had been taught to do such things. The Jedi made sure that all knew their place and level. But they were not bound by the Jedi, not anymore. Jahn could be her teacher, her guide, and still be equal to her. This was a new concept, but an exciting one. So with a bold smile, she spoke.
Jahn, since I was a youngling, I have been told to seek the will of the force. As if the force is a being, with a mind of its own. But if that were the truth, then why would something so powerful, allow lowly beings to manipulate it? The Jedi are wrong, aren't they? The force is no being, it is an essence in us. It is a connection that we control, is it not? It is ours to command. I can see no other truth. I used the force to stay alive, I fed on it. Why would the Jedi hide such a power from us, when it could help so many? Her eyebrows knitted together as her face fell serious. If I had followed the Jedi way, I would have been doomed to slavery and death. Why would the Jedi, who claim to value all life, not teach me the very skills I need to survive? Is the council that greedy, that they horde this knowledge to share only among themselves?

He adjusted himself in his chair, she had chosen Jedi philosophy; interesting. To say the Force has no will would be foolish. We have been given a command over a power that wraps the universe and binds it. Now what ordains a being to have that connection? he paused giving a moment to let her think.
From the Jedi's point of view Force Users are to listen and take direction of the Force. Now this also is not entirely unfounded. We are in fact now following a vision of the Force. I called it but it was provided. We each have a destiny and a future, the Force can aide you in your path, though I would say that it does not control it. You were meant to survive your challenge, the Force provided the tools for you to live. The Jedi, as a whole, do not take advantage or teach all the tools of the Force. Again he took a moment trying to muster the lesson he was trying to convey.
Think of the wind. A powerful force of nature. Though what would it be without leaves to blow? The Council chooses to act as leaves waiting for a strong wind. This method works but times do call for a new approach. There are beings like yourself who look to harness the power of the wind, use it. But I would say that the existance of the wind and our ability to feel it is the will of the Force.
Jahn looked to his companion, she was young and able to lose her path. Though not a Jedi it was important to know your responsibility. Our Force is powerful, we are responsible for the outcome of our uses of the Force. This is how the Light Side came to be. Certain Jedi feel that there are tools of the Force that are inherently dark and lead inevitably to destruction. I tell you that this is not true. The Force binds all, as death is a part of life. Open your mind and heart to the Force. You will be amazed at the power and abilities that are present. Though a word of caution, I expect you to unlock your powers but you must always be aware of your heart. Follow it and you cannot lead a destructive path. There will be Dark side followers who will seek to manipulate you and take hold of your heart. Use it for their ends. You must overcome this, rise above it.
Then Jahn drew silent, he had opened many doors. Some he feared he may not be able to answer for. Though he felt she needed reassurance, and warning. He hoped that Ossus would provide more for him to teach to the girl but he still expected more questions on their voyage. He wanted her to make clear her point of view and ask where she did not understand.

Phoenix's eyes looked forward as Jahn spoke. Though she did not look at him, her mind envisioned his words as he spoke them. She understood her own brashness at saying the force had no will. It's will was to be, and to be used. She could understand this, and accept it. But it would take time, and meditation. She wasn't much for listening to the force, as Jahn must have done when he called on his vision. She didn't know how to not act.
It was this aspect that had shaped her philosophy. She used the force. She often didn't listen to it. She called on it for specific purposes, and thus had not learned of how to seek it's will. She still wasn't sure if she would ever do that. She would leave the wiser acts to Jahn, and she would act. Jahn could have his visions, he could listen to the will of the force, and she could act on it. Her thin smile made another appearance. They could make a great team. Him as the brain and her as the spear.
Thinking of weapons, Phoenix felt a sudden absence at her side. Her lightsabers. Gordon had them when she was captured. But there was no way she would be seeking him out. As Jahn had said that some dark users would seek to control her heart, she knew that Gordon would do the same, that he had been doing just that. It was what the Jedi did. She nodded, acknowledging the message. It might not have been fully understood, but it had been received.
Will I be able to build new lightsabers on Ossus? She asked, turning now to look at Jahn. A spark of remembrance of her revenge on those slavers danced across her eyes. Oh the fun she could have had with her blades in her hands. She could almost hear the hiss and sizzle they would have made, slicing neatly through their flesh. She missed their hum, and the vibration of energy they put through her.
((Lol, Left you an easier question this time!))

Naturally, he responded coolly. On the planet you will find everything you need to forge a new blade. Jahn let a moment pass. He remembered that it was her former who took her last saber. To the girl, a lightsaber was as much a part of the body as her arms. Not an extension but very much a part. he reached into his garments and produced his own blade.
Take this, I know its not the same but it has served me well. He offered the cylinder. Jahn wasn't sure what they would find on the planet's surface. Likely there were scavengers who would not take lightly to new competition. It seemed fitting Gordon took her blade, Jahn would provide another. 1.5 meters in length twist the pommel and the blade extends to 3 meters.
It was at this time he felt an odd disturbance. Not dangerous, more of a calling. He felt confident the summons was coming from Ossus. Jahn could not pull himself to conger a vision. He would just have to trust in their resourcefulness. Fatigue was growing on him and he was not able to exert the strength.Phoenix, how much time do you think we have until we reach Ossus? He had a lot on his mind. He wanted to take any and all questions Phoenix had, but he would have to be on his game once they reached the planet. He would have to budget enough time for rest as he had not slept the night before.

Phoenix's eye grew weary at Jahn's offer. She had never been given anything so freely since she was a youngling. Gordon's gifts, even his gifts of wisdom, had always come at a price. Above all that, she had never been given a lightsaber. The construction of her own two had been more grueling than she had ever expected, and she was always somewhat sure that Gordon had made it so on purpose. The man never trusted her, his own Padawan.
And so it was with timid caution that she took the blade in her own hands. Her brows knitted together as he explained it's specifics. It's weight was light in her hand, and already, she could feel it's unique pulse, calling to her. The lightsaber was a weapon, there was no denying it. And no matter who constructed it, no matter how much peace they had in their soul, deep inside that weapon, was a call to kill. Phoenix felt it more now than ever.
Returning back to the moment, Phoenix looked at the navigation readout, and then back at Jahn. He did seem tired. We have about five standard hours. Go rest, I will handle things here. She clipped the lightsaber to her side, already feeling a slight ownership of it. Though she knew she would return it when she constructed her own, she had a confidence that she could use the blade with the same skill she had wielded hers, a deadly accuracy.

Jahn force a smile. He was concerned how she would perceive the gift. The blade, to the Knight, was not emotionally attached. In his time in the Order, Jahn was recognized as a powerful duelist. Not only because of his finesse in tactic, but he had spent years refining his saber combat. He learned to adapt. Early in his years, Jahn had placed studying the Force in the back. Through training and fighting he unlocked the mysteries of the Force. Many of the masters were wary of his disregard for philosophy but he managed to pass all their tests. He was deemed safe from the call of the Dark Side and allowed to forge his own Jedi path. Perhapses now he regretted their negligence as he peered into his uncertain future.
I think I will retire. If you need me, call. There's not too many places to hide on this ship. He rose and slid out of the cockpit. Making his way back he chose a passenger compartment. Using his cloak as a pillow he made himself as comfortable as possible and settled in. Mentally he prepared himself to sleep for about four hours. He would use the last hour to stretch and help Phoenix land. Hopefully they would be able to make it planet side without conflict. Jahn didn't look forward to space combat.
((Sorry for the quickie I just want to roll this thread to Ossus and meet Jenno asap))
