Lee Ru sighed heavily as he looked at the scanners. "Kojii!" He sang, "Wesa bein havin company!" He powered up the engines, shields, and ion cannon while Kojii ran to the cockpit, and jumped into the pilot's seat. A minute after they spotted the ship, they were weapons hot and manoeuvring to intercept.
The ship the Xijulba's crew had targeted was a simple freighter, about fifty meters long, but it was under-armed and under-powered, the easiest type of target to tear apart. The Xijulba powered towards the freighter at full military and opened up with a barrage of ion cannon fire. The targeted vessel didn't even have time to react beyond some sluggish evasive manoeuvres before the ionizing effects kicked in and splashed across the vessel.
Lee Ru fired at the crippled vessel twice more, hitting with both rounds to ensure their electronics were good and fried as Kojii manoeuvred the Xijulba into a docking position. The airlocks sealed together, and the pair made their way down to the docking port.
Both were, of course, armed with the weapons of their trade. They forced open the docking port on the vessel they had just disabled, and mag-sealed the airlock of the Xijulba, just to be on the safe side. They searched the ship and took the three crew members prisoner. A cursory inspection for hidden compartments revealed a solid half-dozen with spice and some light-arms, which they stowed within the Xijulba's extensive hidden compartments and returned to their prize, clearing out as many of the hidden compartments as they were able to find and as much of the legitimate hold as the Xijulba could store, before returning to their own vessel and flying off.
They had almost made it scott-free, when a group of fighters jumped in only a few thousand kilometres away. They were obviously part of an escort detail, and some of them had light damage. "Lee Ru, we're going to have company. Are those prisoners secure yet?" Kojii called over the intercom, disturbing him as he locked the last of his recently aquired slaves in their holding cells. "Nutsen!" He cursed, "My bein der in a hurry."
He flew up the rungs of the ladder as fast as he was able, before tripping on the last rung and landing flat on his face in front of his console. "Oww!" he cried before he shook his head and climbed into his seat. He'd barely sat down before the fighters were in firing range and opened up with a barrage of concussion missiles. "Get usen out of here!" Lee commanded Kojii as he started firing the laser cannon.
"I'm trying, I'm trying." Kojii replied angrily. The Navicomputer was still processing the coords. The ship shook violently as the missiles impacted the shields and one of the missiles managed to collapse the port shields. Laser fire etched it's way across the armoured hull, barely avoiding a blowthru. "Kojii!!!" Lee called again. The Navicomputer beeped and they jumped into hyperspace.
Lee sighed in relief as the stars lengthened into infinity. After a few moments of silent relief, he looked at the Navicomputer. "Bastion? Why bein wesa headin to Bastion?"
"It's about time we meet up with the boss. We've been away for almost a year after all." Came Kojii's measured reply. Her lekku twitched in annoyance. "Fine den. But yousa gettin to bein meetin wid da boss disa time." Lee left the room, presumably to double check their passengers' accommodations.
