The majestic hum of a lightsaber could be heard from the cargo bay of a very average freighter. The pilot of the the freighter didn't care about the noise, after all he was being payed to fly two passengers and he really needed the money. Inside the cargo bay, Reven could be seen swinging his purple bladed lightsaber in perfect horizontal and vertical angles. The hapan's blade work appeared to be very raw and due to his inexperience, all of his swings could kill someone even though the lightsaber form he was using was meant to disarm without seriously injuring his opponent.

Takumi woke up at the sound of a lightsaber being swung, he groamed and complained he had been sleeping in the cold hard floor for the force knows only how. Taku sat and his neck was really hurting, he groamed again and began rubbing his hands against his eyes while he gave a big yawn.
"Nice to see you working so hard" Taku said lazily as he finally stoop up, yawing again he walked toward his Hapan apprentice, his form was still clumsy and unrefined well at least as unrefine as Shii-cho could get. Taku smiled and removed his large bulky robe, showing underneath a simple yet stained outfit, two large lightsabers hung from his belt.
The large man crossed his arm and smiled confidently "Ya ready for round two?" Reven might have a small edge over Taku this time, since the large human was still sleepy.

Reven ignored Takumi's groans as he continued to practice the very basic attacks of Form I, but when he heard Takumi's voice, Reven turned around with his lightsaber deactivated and said "Yeah, I figured that I'd get nowhere as good as you with a lightsaber unless I practice. Speaking of lightsaber combat, you told me that you know 4 forms, and yet I've noticed that you practice 5 when I watch you train"
Reven was of course talking about Form V seeing how it had two variations with one suited for lightsaber combat and the other more suited towards blaster bolt deflection. When Takumi asked him if he was ready for another spar, Reven just smiled as he activated his lightsaber and held the blade in a very basic balanced two hand guard. Sure this wasn't a move from Form I, but this was something he noticed Takumi use when he practiced Ataru and saw it as a more practical way to hold a lightsaber.

Takumi led out a deep booming laugh "Oh? Due tell?" he said as his hand went around his belt and grabbed the lightsaber that used to belong to Takumi's first master, a powerful Jedi guardian who taught most of the tricks Taku knew. Taku wanted to know more of what form Reven was refering too, he liked it when the hapan kid intuition was spot on, so he wanted to see to what extent Reven's insticts
"You have good eyes kid" Takumi said as he ignited the icy blue lightsaber, Reven was already incorporating what he saw into his bladework, that was good.Hhe walked up to his apprentice with the lightsaber aimed at the ground, it was a casual guard made for quick defense or attack, yet it was not a guard that belong to any form of lightsaber combat.
Takumi started easy, using Shii-Cho simplistic attacks, the blue blade was sent in a quick three blows, eached aimed at a diferent body section, right arm, left wrist and right leg, the body sections which Taku assumed that Reven might be at the very least familiar had he been reading the datapad the former Jedi had made, which held the most basic of information about several things that the Jedi learned about, from the principels of each lightsaber form to several meditation tips and a little info on some force abilities, not the best source of information but Taku figured it would be enough for Reven now.

"Well this form I've noticed seems to have a balance of defense and offense. Your blade is kept near the body in order to defend your self better and I thought that it was form III at first until I saw some of it's fast strikes. I then thought that it was a combination of two lightsaber forms until I noticed that the blade was still close enough to your body to quickly switch from offense to defense" explained Reven as Takumi activated the blue lightsaber. This was of course the first time Reven saw him use the blue lightsaber and really liked the color of the blade a lot better compared to the one he was using.
When Takumi attacked Reven with the blue blade, he had an easier time blocking Takumi's blows with the balanced two hand guard and Takumi's last blow was pushed away with a simple parry. Reven would then proceed to send multiple slashes at Takumi's arms with most of them being diagonal which indicated he was using the more practical live combat form. After each blow, Reven would take a step forward doing his best to keep Takumi on the defensive while moving forward. The only flaw in his blade work was that the blows didn't seem to be that controlled since they could kill someone and he was putting too much weight and strength into the attacks. So a simple parry is all that is needed to throw him off balance as he loses control of the momentum of his attack.

"Shien" Taku said smilling as he brought his blue lightsaber to bare and firmly blocked his apprentice first attack, the former Jedi allowed the Hapan boy to lead the course of the battle. He effortly using Shii-Cho blocked kept himself in the defensive, allowing Reven to get more familiar with the engagement of lightsaber combat.
"Shien, the brother in arms of Djem So. you see kid form V is made out of two separate paths of swordplay" Taku spoke between the blows he exchanged with his student. Takumi allowed Reven to keep the offensive for a time, but eventually he got tired of following Reven Rythym so at one particulary blow, Taku paried away Reven purple blade and brought back his lightsaber throwing a straight vertical slash aimed at Reven left shoulder, he of course took care to do the blow not to fast so Reven would have time to react and block or simply dodge the attack. Takumi proceeded to make several quick attacks in a left, right, left, left pattern.

"So in a sense, Form V is more practical to learn since it has an answer for lightsaber combat and blaster bolt deflection?" asked Reven figuring that Shien was good at blaster bolt deflection since it did take most of it's defensive blade work from Form III. When Takumi parried his blow, Reven suddenly stumbled forward toward Takumi as he lost his balance as Takumi raised his blade for another blow. When the lightsaber came crashing down , the hilt of Takumi's lightsaber hit Reven's head since he was too close for Takumi's blade.
Reven winced in pain for a very brief second before Takumii started to attack him in a series of fast blows at his arms. In order to defend him self, Reven blocked the predictable blows before throwing a horizontal slash at his right hand.

(Soorry so short I know ) "Shien is a defensive form... yes. It's best used against blaster fire and it's usefull in a lightsaber duel, you of course need patience to properly used it." Takumi said while he pounded Reven defenses "Shien relies on speed and controlling your opponent, you wait and wait till a opening appears and then you strike!" He said as Reven made his counter attack, one that Takumi countered by attacking, forcing both sabers to clash and hiss at each other. The lightsaber lock was short lived however Takumi superior strength easily defeated Reven attack, Taku proceeded to keep on the offense sending a similar strike aimed at Reven left arm.

"Do you think I'd be any good with Shien?" asked Reven right before their two blades clashed. As the two blades hissed and crackled, Reven was pushed away by Takumi's superior strength and when Takumi started attacking, Reven did his best to quickly block and parry the simple strikes of form one. After several strikes, Reven noticed that Takumi was aiming for his right arm with basic diagonal and horizontal strikes. As Takumi bright his arms back for another strike, Reven had somewhat of an idea on how to counter this attack. So as Takumi swung his blade, Reven made a subtle adjustment in the angle of his parry in order to intercept Takumi's hand instead of the blade. Since Takumi wasn't swinging at top speed, there was always the chance to stop himself and let the parry miss leaving Reven's defenses open.

"Sure I guess, you look like the type that moves around a lot" Taku jested and smirked as he re adjusted his attack to meet the kid's counter attack, the boy was already applying cunning into his attacks, both lightsabers clashed and Takumi withdrew his offensive Taku's free hand made a sign for Reven to come at him.
"I could teach you boy" Takumi waited for the boy to attack "But not yet, once I consider that you are better with Shii-Cho I could start giving you lessons on Shien"

Reven of course wasn't surprised that Takumi was able to readjust his attack in response for Reven's counter attack. When the two blades clashed, Reven was expecting to be pushed away by Takumi's superior strength, but instead he pulled away and made a sign with his free hand to come at him. Reven would then hold his blade out in front of him in a 45 degree angle and slowly started walking towards him. Once he was close enough, he made 3 quick sudden strikes. One horizontal slash at his waist, followed by a diagonal strike at his upper left arm, and then upper right arm.

"So what is it about Shien that you like" Takumi spoke while going on the defensive, one two and three steps back, and two parries the former Jedi allowed his apprentice to take the offensive. Reven was an amazing learner he was grasping the basics of everything quicker than Taku expected and even quicker than how Taku learned those things, the former jedi with his weak connection to the force, being below most Jedi in terms of raw power and even more so less talented. Takumi felt honored to have such a powerful apprentice, if only little Taku would dedicate himself to pass everything he knew to the boy, no matter if it was only a little.

"I actually like both variations of form V since it provides an answer for blaster bolt deflection and lightsaber combat. I mean sure, I could learn a cool looking form like Ataru, but the fact that it lacks defense and isn't that great against blaster makes it less practical for someone who is traveling across the galaxy encountering who knows what" said Reven as he continued his basic offense.
"Plus as you're student, it might be best to learn your main form of lightsaber combat" said Reven as he made a horizontal slash at his right arm followed by a downwards strike at his forehead.

"Good enough" Taku said, using his lightsaber to block Reven first attack and he simply made a step back completly dodging the attack that fallowed. Takumi immidiatly pushed forward and made an attack from above looking to slash across Reven abdomen.
Takumi kept on the offensive, making a fairly easy to read pattern for his apprentice "I think it's about time I teach you the basic target zones" Takumi said as he kept on the offensive. "Pay attention, first I'll do them with out saying which of them are, then you'll tell and see if you guessed right"
Takumi stepped back and allowed Reven to put himself in a defensive stance. Without saying another word Taku pushed forward, first he attacked at the head, then keeping on the offensive his blue lightsaber went for a blow aimed at Reven right arm. The former Jedi pivoted and slammed his lightsaber immidiatly at Reven left side then he proceeded to manuever himself so his lightsaber could strike the right part of Reven back. Taku pushed through and sent his lightsaber at the young hapan right foot and without wasting the momentum he stroke at Reven's left knee. His attacks was slightly faster than before but there was no killing intent in them so Takumi attacks would only conected with Reven lightsaber and if he did not position himself fast enough the attack would never come through.

Reven would parry the blue blade away from it's intended target before Takumi started going on the offense. Since the attack pattern was easy to read, Reven really didn't have a problem blocking and parrying all of Takumi's attacks. And while he continued to be on the defense, Takumi would then tell him that he was going to teach him the basic targeting zones by actually aiming for them instead of telling him. Takumi would then step back giving Reven plenty of time to put his blade in front of him in a 45 degree angle like last time.
Takumi would then attack the young hapan with a slash to his head, but Reven quickly blocked the blue blade by bringing it up. After that, Takumi sent a blow to his right arm followed by a blow at his left which Reven blocked. After that, Takumi would maneuver around Reven which Reven couldn't respond to since shii-cho's only foot work was advancing forward giving Reven no way to defend himself. However, the blade didn't make contact with his back at all. Reven would then turn around only to encounter Takumi's attacks at his right foot and left knee causing Reven to lose balance and fall to the ground as he attempted to back away from the attacks.
Reven would then look up at Takumi feeling a bit ashamed that he couldn't respond to Takumi's last two attacks. After all, he knew Takumi expected great things from him.

"Hmmnn" Taku said as he ended his attack, he turned off his lightsaber and left himself in casual stance "So those are the target zones, did you figure out how many of them are and which are they?" Takumi said, he knew Reven was smart and his intuition was good and above all he learned fast... to fast, hopefully he wouldn't get to cocky once he reached his full potential. Well what Reven did after Takumi dies it was none of his business... well at least Taku liked to think of it that way.
If reven did not figured out each of the areas then Takumi was willing to explain things agains, this time in a more traditional manner.

Reven took a second to think about all of the attacks Takumi used against him to show the body target body zones. From what he could tell by the number of blows Takumi used against him, there was six body target zones that shii-cho attacked which seemed to be everything but the front torso. This of course made sense to Reven since shii-cho's main focus was to disarm without seriously injuring his target.
"There are six target body zones and they are both arms and legs, the back and the head" said Reven as he deactivated the lightsaber and got up from the floor of the ship.

Remeber that boy" Taku said settling into a defensive stance of Shii-Cho. "Your turn kid" Taku said smilling, it was nice to spar with someone from time to time. (blegh short post I know )

"Here goes nothing" said Reven as he threw an over head slash at Takumi's head followed by a slash at his right arm, followed by another slash at his left arm. After that, he would throw another slash at his left leg, followed by a slash at his right leg. As for the remaining target zone, Reven walked around Takumi to get to face his back and threw a slash at the center of his spine. It would be clearly obvious to Takumi that the young hapan needed to work on the back target zone since since nobody would let him just simply walk around him. But then again, shii-cho was well known for having poor footwork.

Takumi looked on as his apprentice attacked him, the former Jedi easily deflected Reven attacks he having the advantage of height and experience.... and natural agility... Now that Taku thought about it he had not given Reven training regime he should have, he was slowly bringing him up to speed with lightsaber training and was teaching slowly but steadily the basics of each force "category" but he had not given Reven a couple of good old tips to keep in tip top shape. But right now he had to focus and give a very obvious lesson to his apprentice.
Takumi noticed that Reven was unsure of how to manuver himself behind, when the hapan did eventually get behind the large man becouse he was allowed, but Reven attack had no effect since in one sweep the large men was facing him again and parried the blade away.
"Not sure if you've been reading much of the datapad I gave ya.. but there is an entry about something called sokan, have you read about it?
