Dumb Luck (Kozeph, Reven)

[Derriphan]

Beaten, battered, and most of all broken as an individual. Her reign as the arena champion had finally fallen as she was beaten by her opponent who was by far superior to her and had ended the fight quick. She was disappointed most of all in herself. That she had reigned for so long as a champion and had made her master so happy. it had been ages since she had been disciplined by him or any of his lackeys. Now she lay on the floor with a foot on her chest as the crowd cheered and booed at the same time.

Her breath shallow as her face was mildly bruised and her head was literally spinning with stars. A few arena guards entered the arena with stun-batons as they rounded up the winner and dragged away the loser, and dragged was what the literal was. Dragged up the stairs to her Hutt master and thrown before him as she looked up weakly at him but then bowed her head back down in fear that she would be harmed farther. The Hutt spoke and she understood what her fate would be. She was picked up this time and taken somewhere. Cleaned, re-clothed, and her wounds had been bandaged. A lift rose up in the arena as they were on a pedestal with Kharr between two guards.

One holding a stun-baton the other holding a blaster. she sat there tied to her chair and fastened around her neck was a pretty little slave collar that would administer a shock if she misbehaved. One of the guards spoke loudly into a microphone as he addressed the crowd.

"The Owner of Kharr would like to offer the crowd a proposition. There is many of you who love her, and have favored her for the past several months as reigning champion maybe even had your eyes on her in more perverted ways. Now, we offer the lovely Kharr to you for a night and you may use her as you wish as long as she is not killed or any of her bones broken.

We start the bid at ten-thousand credits, can I hear eleven-thousand?"

Of course the arena flared up in whoops and howling as they the perverted men and women alike started to bid on the poor Cathar. Within the first five minutes they worked their way up to nineteen thousand and continued to rise.

[Reven]

Reven could be seen in the stands walking towards his seat with a smile on his face. You see, Reven placed a bet that the now current champion would beat Kharr, and despite the fact that he bet a small amount of credits, he won a lot since the odds were in Kharr's favor. After all, she was the arena champion. When he took his seat, he saw the loser being lifted by a pedestal with two guards between her. Since this was the first time Reven has been to an arena fight, he couldn't help but feel puzzled on why the loser was being brought in with new clothes.

Since Kharr seemed like a savage animal when she fought the current champion, Reven was of course intimidated by her appearance, but now that she didn't seem like a rage filled warrior, she seemed very attractive to the young hapan. Then one of the guards told the audience that Kharr's owner was going to sell her off for the night so that the buyer could do any perverted thing he or she wanted to do to her. This of course shocked Reven since he would never think that the now former champion was a slave which made Reven take a closer look at the cathar and he noticed the shock collar around her neck.

As the audience started betting, Reven could help but feel repulsed by the fact that the audience had that many perverts. And as a former slave, he couldn't believe that her master was selling her to some random guy to sleep with her for one night. Reven of course heard stories about this, but he had never witnessed this before. Reven would then turn to a hoarse voice coming from his left saying that he was betting 2,000. When he turned to the voice, he noticed that it belonged to a fat man in his forties with 5 O'clock shadow which made Reven cringe in digust at the thought of him having his way with the beautiful cathar.

There has to be something I could do to save her thought Reven as he tried to think of some kind of way that he could help her. He of course thought about threatening the middle aged man to bet for him and give the cathar to him for the night, though that was only something he wanted to do as a last resort. After all, knowing someone that can use the Jedi mind trick to manipulate the minds of others is a better more moral option.

Takumi sat quietly on a chair next to his apprentice, this was by far one of the most boring arenas he had ever seen, it was nothing like the one in tatooine or the one in Cato Neimoidia who paled in comparison to the one in Geonosis in Taku taste, who had fought in many death matches and arenas across the galaxy.

Takumi did not bother betting here, his money was quietly drained away by each round of drinks he bought. The night was pleasent enough, Reven seemed to be on winning streak so that means, they might have enough money to leave the smuggler moon quickly enough, while Taku liked Nar Shaddaa he was getting bored of it with Reven travelling had regained a meaning to the broken and former Jedi guardian.

The only match that brought interest to the large man was the last one for the night, the one between the champion and one looking to replace the young cathar. It was a short but brutal fight one that Takumi enjoyed, but in the end the cathar girl was defeated and now was being offered... Taku felt a little bad at how she had been treated, he had a soft spot for slaves apperantly since his current and the apprentice he had so many years ago by chance where at some point in their lifes slaves.

Taku sensed Reven desires, the boy wanted to save her for some reason. The former Jedi took a deep breath and sighed heavily, "No choice eh?" He said standing up and looked down on Reven with serious looking eyes "You want to save her eh? got any idea how to do it boy?"

[Derriphan]

"I hear sixteen thousand, sixteen thousand! Can I get seventeen, seventeen?"

The price continued to rise at a grueling rate, the Hutt Master really wanted to make some nice coin off this slave since she had lost her match but sadly the odds were stacked against her. The person she faced was more or less not a slave and the only reason he participated at all was the good amount of coin he could of earned. His skills were far superior to the young Cathar's by many a year and his wisdom period far surpassed the sheltered girl. A smile rose on the auctioneer's lips as he added something in.

"May I remind the audience. She has never been touched by another man's hands. She is pure in more ways than one.."

This had the audience hooting and hollering as they easily got seventeen-thousand and it quickly raised to twenty and then stood still for a few moments longer while another bid twenty-one and had a look of petrifaction on his face. A older being and it was hard to tell what species he was but what ever he was he had a humanoid appearance which was hidden by a cloak and a helmet. His face scanning left and right to see other people pondering if they should go the next grand to get what they wanted.

"Any one offering twenty-two thousand?"

The man at twenty-one thousand couldn't budge another penny, if someone bid above him they'd have her. No one else seemed like they wanted to budge either, they loved their money as much as they favored the attractive female Cathar.

[Reven]

When the auctioneer told the audience that the cathar was pure in more ways than one, Reven couldn't help but wonder what he meant by that. Sure he could understand that the fact that she was a virgin made her pure, but he couldn't see anything else that made this young woman pure. After all, she was a frightening opponent to face. When Takumi asked Reven on how he was going to save her, Reven knew right away what to do, though it all depended on Takumi's skill with the Jedi mind trick.

"Can you use the Jedi mind trick to get that fatty over here to bid for us and give us the cathar for the night?" asked Reven as he pointed to the fat middle age man next to him who was too preoccupied with the bidding to even notice Reven calling him fatty.

"bingo" thought Takumi, he was starting to figure out how and what made his Hapan apprentice tick. The former Jedi didn't really care about the slave girl or actually this whole ordeal, he had seen this event oh so many times ever since he left the Jedi order. But Takumi wasn't about to say no to Reven, if the boy wanted to become a "hero" he would not stop him no matter how foolish his goal was, if the boy thought he could become one Taku would teach him all he knew so the boy could survive in this galaxy that might soon be in flames.

"I guess, watch and learn Reven, keep your senses to the force open and feel it" he said a bit tipsy while standing up and approaching the table of the man Reven had been so kind to point out, the large man sat on the table without permission and the man began to complain "Relax my good man" he said using the force to calm down the man a little, Taku had only two strong aspects in the force, one which was to use the force to augment his physical traits while the other was to influence the mind of those of weaker will. "Ain't she a nice price eh? that slave girl?" he said, he would use the man pervertion and desire for the girl to get him to buy her. "You see that kid over there with me? thats my brothers kid he just turned eighteen you know?" Taku smiled while slowly bending the man to his words "I know we are good friends and all, and I'm kinda embarrassed about asking this to you, but could you buy her? for him? for me?" the man nodded with every word, he really had a weak mind "I'll repay ya later, right now im short on credits" he lied of course, well at least about the part of paying the man back, the rest was true Taku was short on credits as always.

The former Jedi weaved at Reven to approached the table, just as the "fatty" stood up and said "TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND! LET THE KID HAVE HER!" he shouted hoping to win the cathar. Taku grabbed Reven by the arm "Now it's your turn to figure out how to get her out of here, if you need help just call.. I'll go and enjoy another drink" Taku said slyly, if reven needed help he would have to figure out how to call the former Jedi with the aid of the force since they didn't have any comunicators with them.

[Derriphan]

"TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND AND SOLD! To the kid up front! Come and claim your prize!"

A leash that was fastened around her neck was pulled roughly as she quickly moved to her feet from her knee's. In the guards other hand was a remote that went to her shock collar which went from zero to ten. The free guard carried a heavy blaster as they made their way through the crowd as people quickly dispersed from the arena and they made their way to the sight of the boy standing before them. First they handed him the leash which was made of black leather that connected to a rubber fastening from her collar. They smiled sheepishly and spoke.

"Well you have yourself a beauty here. She's a fine Cathar and very obedient as is the quality of her species. This collar is of the finest shock collars around. This little device here works like a charm, here let me show you."

They took the shock collar and quickly put it over to one. The Cathar female yipped for a second or two as her hair stood on end and then as soon as it started it stopped. As it switched down to zero. They had a cruel smile pressed upon their lips. As they then handed the remote to him in his free hand.

"Now I must remind you that she is to do anything you wish. You may hit her and abuse he as you wish. She has a quick regenerative ability, so her bruises or cuts heal faster than most. Enjoy her kid, I wish I could be there to see what ever you do to her.."

They both hand wicked grins on their faces as they then parted away from him. Disappearing into the ring and behind another locked door. As the lights remained on and the club was still dispersing, only a few people left. The female Cathar still tied to the leash looked up to her Master for the night. Her Hutt Master told her to do as he wished. Golden eyes looked up through dyed purple hair as she blinked slowly, her ears twitching as she looked at him with curious eyes.

She was only to speak when spoken too. That is what her Master told her. White teeth slid from her mouth as she lightly bit her bottom lip while she looked up at him. Kharr was scared, it resonated from her very being. No idea what to except from him, her Master spoke of things he might do to her but her innocent mind couldn't understand or even process what was being spoke cause such words were alien to her and for a very good reason. The last man to have laid hands on her was dead, and now she was going to be touched by this mans hands in what ever way he wished.

[Reven]

As the audience started to leave, the two guards brought Kharr to Reven. One of them was holding her by a leash and the other one had a large blaster that intimidated Reven somewhat due to it's size. The guard holding Kharr gave Reven the leash and told him that she was the finest of her species and that the shock collar was the finest around before saying that he was going to demonstrate how the shock collar worked.

"Wait, you don't have to !"

But before he could finish his sentence, the guard set the shock collar to 1 causing the cathar to yip in pain as her hair stood up. As he watched the poor slave get shocked, he personally wanted to gut the guard where he stood, though logic told him that doing so would get him in trouble and might lead to the darkside. With a cruel smile, the guard handed him the remote to control the shock collar as Reven took a deep breath to help calm himself to keep his emotions in check.

The guard would then tell the former slave that he could abuse her as much as he wanted due to her fast healing factor and that he wished that he was there to see whatever he did to her. The guards would then leave the arena and Reven stayed where he was until everybody left having somewhat of an idea on what he was going to do next. As soon as the last person left, Reven dropped the cathar's leash and took out his lightsaber. He would then activate the weapon causing a purple blade of light to appear. After that, he threw the remote for the shock collar into the air and sliced it in two.

"If you leave the planet tonight and go into Republic space, you'll be able to live you're life as a free man... I mean woman instead of a slave. Just be sure to get that collar off of you" said Reven as he deactivated the lightsaber and placed it in his pocket. He would then turn around and head towards the exist. I honestly hope she didn't mind the free man blunder... thought Reven looking quite nervous. It literally took everything he had to say that to a beautiful woman like Kharr with a straight face instead of his usual timid expressions.

Kharr watched the man drop her leash then ignite a light saber before her. Her body shuddered in fear as she expected nothing less than death at that final moment even though he wasn't allowed to kill her. Watching the remote to the shock collar be tossed into the air he sliced it in half as it clanked several times to the ground in its two pieces. Her head cocking to the side as she looked at him with the most curious of expressions. He spoke quickly about her getting into Republic space then being a free women but the world free was alien to her. Once he turned around and headed towards the exit in almost a jog she followed close behind.

Grabbing her own leash in one hand as she stuck close to him. Moving even a tad faster into him as she chest came in contact with his back and she stopped for a minute as she almost fell over her own feet. Looking at him with those curious golden eyes. Still not understanding what words he had spoken. Kharr was told to follow who ever took her and to listen to what ever they said. Sadly the words of her leaving and being 'free' were alien to her and she didn't understand the concept. It was hard to grasp that she could do anything she wanted when she wanted. Her teeth biting her bottom lip again as she looked up at him with her beautiful golden eyes. They looked for direction and the only logical thing to do without talking was to follow him or risk punishment.

[Reven]

As Reven continued walking, he suddenly felt something large and soft hit his back causing him to stumble forward as he did his best to regain balance. Once he regained his balance, he would turn around and notice Kharr on the ground, looking up at him with her beautiful golden eyes. Being the nice guy that he is, Reven's immediate reaction was to extend his hand towards the cathar in order to help her up.

"Are you aright?" asked the young hapan with a concerned look on his face.

Takumi allowed Reven to head out and go on his little adventure, mean while the former Jedi finished his conversation with the "fatty" and "Suggested" to the man that he should stop coming to this kind of stablishments and the man took the suggestion to the heart and left before he realized that he had just lost most of his savings.

"Aaah what should I do now?" Taku said with boredoom, meaby he should have gone with Reven but it was to late for that. Taku was bored, bored he needed something to pump his blood back to activity... something anything just as long as Takumi could work out his boredom. The bear of a man found in the end what he was looking for, in the back of the bar in a corner where a couple of men began to arm wrestle Takumi joined...

[Derriphan]

She slowly and hesitantly took his hand as she helped herself up with his help. Brushing her bottom off with her hands as she continued to look up at him. It was impossible people were not this nice, only one person had ever been this nice to her and that was her master that trained her in the arts of fighting. This man he seemed genuinely nice. He didn't resonate a dark presence from him but more of a light one, she couldn't exactly explain it but she could feel this, as if it were some third sense.

"I'm... okay... Master..."

Her voice barely above a whisper and abused from years of disuse. That hand of hers still clutched the leash in her hand as she offered it to him out of sincerity as if he dropped it and she meant to give it back to him. From her very essence she radiated confusion, not sure what to do in this situation. How come she wasn't quickly carted off to where ever this man lived? She expected nothing less to be used for what she was good at. Dancing, cleaning, cooking or perhaps even repairing his droids? Honestly she didn't know what to do in this situation so out of sheer caution she asked in her same small voice.

"What can I do to please my Master?"

She asked, cocking her head to the side a little. Looking for direction through this man hoping she'd be given some chore to make herself useful. Hoping that when she was brought back the next day that she wasn't talked about poorly or else she risk severe punishment for not pleasing the Masters who paid so much for her.

[Reven]

After Reven helped the young Cathar off the ground, she told him that she was okay and called him master in a tone so soft that it was practically a whisper. Did she just call me master? thought Reven as she offered him the leash. And as soon as he noticed the leash, it finally hit him that this slave didn't even know what the word, free, meant. Though he did have a feeling that she wanted to be free, even though she didn't know how to articulate it. When the cathar asked the young hapan if there was anything she could do to please him, he couldn't help but think about what any 17 year old wanted to do with the beautiful woman causing his face to turn a bit red.

He would then shake that perverted though out of his head knowing full well that he needed to do the right thing. His hands would then start to rise up planning onto unbuckle the collar, but as he did he quickly remembered that this cathar was a ruthless fighter. And as one, she might see someone's hand's reaching out to her neck as a threat to her life and could possibly kill him.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you" said Reven as he reached out towards her neck and unbuckled her collar causing it to fall to the ground.

"Kharr, as someone who used to be a slave, I always wanted to do what I wanted without some master owning me and I'm pretty sure you feel that way. Well, that's what being free is all about and you now have the opportunity to be free by leaving this planet. But as you're owner I do have one request that I want you to follow for the rest of your life, don't call anybody master" said Reven trying his best to have Kharr understand what it means to be free.

[Derriphan]

She winced and closed her eyes even though he explained that he was not going to hurt her. The familiar click of her collar as it all of a sudden fell to the ground as she opened her eyes slowly. Rubbing at the tender skin around her neck that was red and raw from the collar grazing it all these years. Touching it she winced once again as it hurt to even touch it. Looking up into his eyes she listened to him as he spoke and his request was for her not to call anyone Master from now on and it was hard to understand what he was saying. Looking up at him and rubbing her neck gently she spoke again in her soft whisper.

"I don't know what to do. I don't have anywhere to go. Can I go with you?"

She asked him in a gentle voice as her free hand came out to grasp his. It was slightly gloved with a piece going in between the finger middle and ring finger and connecting to the rest of the outfit she wore. It was all one piece and was very stretchy. The outfit conformed to her body and shoved off just about every curb and bump she had. Gripping his hand hard as she smiled meekly at him. Her ears twitching on top of her head.

"Please?"

Giving it one more reassuring tug as she stopped rubbing her neck and then she brought her hands down toward her stomach as she laced her own fingers and hung her head low. Hoping the plea for help would get her some where since her Master was asking her of this.

"My name is Kharr, Mas- ."

She cut herself off from saying it as she seemed to shrink even smaller in front of him. Not sure what to call him since she couldn't call him Master. Then what she supposed to call him by, did he have a formal name?

[Reven]

As Kharr asked Reven if she could go with him in a gentle voice, she grasped his hand causing Reven to blush slightly. After all, this was the first time a woman held his hand, and when she tightened her grip, he looked down at her hand and noticed how it was slightly gloved with a piece going in between the finger middle and ring finger. His eyes would then follow what the glove connected to, which happened to be her one piece dress, which showed every curve on her body. After staring at her figure for a couple of seconds, Kharr would then tell the young hapan her name before realizing that she didn't know his.

"My name is Reven Starlight and yes, you can come with us. However, my companion, Takumi, and I aren't that rich and I often have to work in various jobs in order to pay for our traveling expenses. Since there is no way that I can pay for both you and Takumi, you'll also need to work in order to pay for your traveling expenses. As for what you do with any of the left over money you earned is up to you" explained Reven as he rubbed the back of his head nervously with his free arm. He honestly hoped that he wasn't giving her the impression that he was some kind of pervert like most of the audience members earlier after looking at her body.

[Derriphan]

Kharr couldn't understand or figure out why people were so fascinated with her body, but of course she was extremely naive in the real world mind set. Looking up at him as his eyes briefly scanned over her physical prowess his name was spoke through his lips as she mouthed it with her lips to get a feel for it. They weren't very rich and honestly she didn't care and she'd have to work to pay her own way.

"Re-ven.. I can fix droids... and I can dance... I can cook and clean...."

She mouthed his name very slowly as she was still getting a feel for it. Then she had to tell him what she was good at since she doubted he knew. Looking up to him as he rubbed the back of his head with his free hand and she could feel that he was unsettled around her. Kharr didn't know why nor did she understand.

"Mas- Reven.... Where do we go now?"

A distinct rumble was heard that almost hurt to feel. She was ridiculously under fed. Even though she was one of her masters prized fighters and prized slaves. Since she was such a rare specimen, a Cathar female and the loyalist of slaves you could own. Even though deep down rooted in her core she had a rebellious side that yearned to expose itself and to kill anything and everything around her.

[Reven]

"You can repair droids? That seems pretty interesting. I honestly would have never guessed that you had that kind of skill after seeing you fight and what you were in and what you were being sold for" said Reven looking quite interested about the fact that Kharr could fix droids. After he said what he said, Reven couldn't help but get the feeling that what he said was insulting. After all, one could assume that he had the assumption that all slaves that fight and are sold for sex weren't skilled or smart in anything else.

"Oops, sorry about that! I really didn't mean to insult you by what I just said. It's just sometimes I feel nervous when I'm around someone someone of the opposite gender and I sometimes say something stupid" explained Reven right before Kharr asked him where to go. But before Reven could respond, he heard the cathar's made a very familiar growling sound that he had only heard when he was a slave.

"Kharr, when was the last time you ate?" asked Reven with a very concerned and worried look on his face.

[Derriphan]

Merely nodding her head to what he said she thought nothing of it when he could of never guessed that she could do these things. Now she shook her head from side to side showing that she did not take what he said as an insult. There was far worse things she had been called, and far worse things done to her. The scars were still there, mostly across her back. Reopened several times with a whip with metal tips. It was a lesson learned many times and she could remember the pain as fresh as if it were yesterday. Having been asked the last time she ate she had to dig into her mind for the answer.

"Yesterday morning."

She remembered and spoke in her still small voice. Walking past him she really wanted to get out of this place. Sick and tired of the blood and booze spell that had long since integrated itself into this arena and club. The many fights and murders that had happened in this very arena. It was a shame and the thoughts briefly flashed through her mind and she couldn't believe that she had done these things convinced that it was another person every time she remembered it.

"You cannot insult me Reven.. I have suffered far worse in my eighteen years.."

Whipped, beaten, shocked, burned, all methods of torture she had endured them and sometimes they were for pure entertainment. Just because she could heal faster than most this is why they did it. If she didn't cry or scream they'd hurt her more until she did. A sick form of entertainment she hoped she wouldn't have to endure again anytime soon, and as she remembered all this pain her eyes became glossy with the memories and she slumped her shoulders in the memories that were still flashing through her mind.

[Reven]

The fact that Kharr last ate yesterday morning really didn't surprise him After all, he has seen it in the slave quarters and yet never experienced it for himself. After all, his step mother, Jane Starlight made sure that he had just enough food to go through the day to the point where she sometimes didn't eat for a day. And when she mentioned that she couldn't be insulted since she went through much worse, Reven could feel what she was feeling as she remembered all of the pain she went through.

"I really had it lucky..." muttered Reven to himself. As a former slave, he knew he that he was lucky since he had someone to take care of him and he never had to experience some of the horrors that many slaves face to this day. But he never knew how lucky until today. He would then walk up next to Kharr as she started to walk away and but his left arm over her shoulder to comfort her.

"Just because you can't be insulted still doesn't mean that people should insult you. Is there any place you want to eat at?" asked Reven.
