It was like any other peaceful day on Glee Anselm when a newborn arrived to the galaxy. Morak Assio gave birth to a son who she promptly named Daros after the father. Even as a youngling Daros was different then the others. As the other enjoyed swimming in the water, and exploring down under. His eyes always wander to the sky. Daros' father had been a republic soldier and was barely ever home. It was on Daros' fifth birthday that his father brought home a gift, it was a model of a Hammerhead class cruiser. This was the start of his great journey towards the stars.
That starship became his beacon, he would never go any where with out it. When others asked him to use it he would clutch it to his chest and shake his head saying that it would bring bad luck to his dad if any one else touched it. Even though it was a lie to keep others from touching it he started to actually believe it. Even when his mother would take him into the water to swim, he wouldn't let her take it from him. It was strange. But that one ship was his dad to him.
When he was seven years old his life began to have a new meaning. It was one of the cloudier days which just added to the days events, as if the clouds knew what was about to happen. Two men in full military uniform walked up to the door of the Assios. Morak, Daros' mother, was first to the door. As soon as she opened Daros could feel his mothers sadness causing him to rush into the room. The two soldiers reported that his father had been killed during a patrol of the outer rim worlds and that they would investigate further. It was that day that he swore to follow in his fathers foot steps and join the republics military.
His career in the republic's Navy stared out slow. Just a bit of patrols and such. But it was during these patrols that he would prove his skill as a fighter pilot. It was during his second patrol that his captain's ship was blown out of the sky by a stealth bomber. The second in command was frozen and lost for words so Daros acted. Taking command over the rest of his squad not only safely away from the ambush but pushed the attackers back. After that he was presented as a first petty officer at the age of 21. Over the next four years he continued to prove himself doing escort missions, patrols and other smaller task.
When news of the attack on Dantooine his thoughts went to Yuris who had died in the battle. But it wasn't till after what he witnessed first hand that he wished he would of enjoyed the slow days more. Daros was there during the Sith invasion of Mon Calamari. He was one of the fighter pilots locked in dog fights though out the battle. It was during this battle that he escorted a number of escape pods safely to the atmosphere and earning him his rank of Lieutenant. Even though he doesn't feel like he deserved it.

Daros walked in full uniform with his hat under his arm. The ceremony had just ended and he walked down a large corridor on a Dreadnaught class cruiser. "Lieutenant, for protecting those fortunate enough to get to the escape pods." He said more to himself as his right hand itched the top of his head.
"For your bravery during battle I award you..." the Commander had said placing the badge on his uniform. 'I was just doing my duty, there are others, do I really deserve this?' These thoughts flew through his head as the commander continued to speak.
Letting his hands rub the sides of his head he looked up as he heard clapping. "Congratulations Daros." A female spoke as he looked up to see who it was. Giving a faint smile he stopped where he was and placed his hands in his pockets holding his hand between his forearm and hip. "Gewn, didn't know you would bother showing up. After all last I heard you were commanding a fleet of your own." He spoke with out missing a beat.
Shaking her head she walked up to him, her head only coming to his chin and looking up, letting a finger casually trace from his shoulder down his chest. "Now I wouldn't miss my greatest rival's ceremony, after all, I'm glad to see you made it out of there alive, a lot of good men died." She spoke, her voice letting a bit of sadness show. "I suspect you heard about Yuris?"
Daros only nodded as the girl backed away. Gewn was Yuris girl in the academy. The two of them would fight like cats and dogs...it always made Daros chuckle about the irony. But Gewn was one hell of a pilot. One that Daros had the pleasure of dueling against in the simulators. They were tied 4 to 4 as of now, Daros had won the last one. "I'm sorry I didn't make the funeral. I wasn't aloud to leave my post."
Gewn nodded before taking a step back and Saluting. "Indeed, But I think Yuris would understand. But don't be a stranger Daros, we still have a score to settle."
Without actually realizing it he shook his head at the girl. Even at a time like this she could be so carefree. Perhaps that was his problem, he never just enjoyed life. Everything was a mission to him. Letting out a light sigh he took the hat from beneath his arm and looking at it. War was upon the republic and there was nothing he could do to stop it. But Daros would make damn sure that the sith and Mandalorians would burn.

Dreams to Reality
Daros had his mother sign him up for the Naval academy as soon as he was of age. There he spent almost every waking moment to being the best he could be. Mainly focusing on fighter piloting but made sure he had a well knowledge of all the types that he could.
As he furthered his training he made a good friend with a Bothan named Yuris Mogtrin. He was going for an officer position hoping to command a flag ship in the near future. It was during their last year at the Academy that the two dueled with vibroswords. Closer to the end Yuris cut Daros' cheek just under his eye leaving a scar. Luckily this didn't hurt their friendship since they had both agreed to the risk before.
When Daros graduated from the Academy he was held in the top 5% of pilots, While Yuris gained Officer status becoming the captain of a Hammerhead class cruiser. The two then split up as they were stationed at differnt planets. Yuris at Dantooine and himself near Mon Calamari.
