Dark and cold. Void of noise and emotion. The abandoned transport ship slowly drifted to nowhere. Why to no where? Because of it's only surviving passenger, Halc Greimmer, who just a few days ago had to run for safety and hide upon this odd transport ship. The ship itself was just a bloated tug with hyper drives dragging sealed containers connected by hatches for easy access to inspect cargo when needed. A pirate transporter loaded down with all the contraband it could. Little did the crew know that their demise was hiding in their fridge.
When well along their way Halc was discovered. They tide him down and beat on him to get answers of how he got on board. Though Halc had his eyes open he was still a sleep. The pain did not wake him what did was the opening of a tin of expired bantha meat. Eyes flying wide open and the unstable mind taking in all that was done to him and through the force what might be done to him. As a sun going nova Halc's force surge rose to such a height that any force user in the quadrant would have felt it. Halc's force burst forth as a force scream. The scream was flooded with the darkest of energy, not the normal screams he would use on simpletons. The crew grasped their heads and thrashed about the ship, on the floor, strapped in chairs, and writhing in sleeping births.
It went on for an hour. At the end of the hour all but Halc was dead due to brain aneurysms or jumping out the escape ports to get away from the screaming. Halc was so tired out due to the screaming he went back to sleep, waking later to hunger pains. Letting himself out of the bindings Halc ate the spoiled meat and wondered throughout the transport and the containers searching for anything shiny. What he found he brought back to the dining table and piled it on it. Every thing from jewels to shiny tinfoil.
A week had gone by and Halc was content with wondering the containers and counting and looking at all the shiny things. He would go back to the fridge to sleep and wait till this peace and calm became disturbed.

Miran, having been hired by a rather shady man to investigate his missing cargo shipment, slowly pulled back on the throttle. She heard the hyperspace engines winding down and checked her fuel supply: 18 minutes at full power, 2 days of normal flight. She spotted the freighter on her sensors almost immediately, the massive vessel having almost no allowances for trying to be stealthy. It was unpowered, with nothing but the emergency comm beacon and a pair of running lights setting it apart from the void.
She powered up the sublights at a quarter power and matched speed with the vessel before cutting them out again. She hit the maneuvering thrusters, aligning the Cuyir to a nearly perfect alignment and cut in the computer. It finished the docking procedure and a thud echoed thru the hull. Miran stood and checked to ensure her pistol and force pike were in their place on her armored thigh. The inertial compensator hung from her belt made her movements easier, but the 36 kilo armor she wore was still very heavy. She wasn't going to risk leaving herself exposed to whatever hit this ship, however, so the extra bulk was more than worth it.
She had heard the stories, of course, of ghost ships plying the space-lanes. Of ships filled with dead crews that would look out the viewports and terrorize anybody that came onboard. Personally, she discredited these incidents, but that didn't mean there weren't a dozen different possibilities which justified her using her armor, including decompression.
She decided against carting her rifle into the ship, and that Darren should remain behind until she had cleared the vessel. Darren agreed, albeit somewhat annoyed at the prospect, and took up a position by the comm. Miran drew her pistol and opened the airlock. The wait for it to cycle was, as always, quite short, and she stepped into the other ship. Her HUDD automatically compensated for the lack of light and displayed the sensor results. The EM spectrum was silent, save for the batteries powering the subspace radio, and the thermal emissions were minimal.
EDIT: OOC: if you can manage to kill Miran, I don't mind over much. I appreciate the challenge of keeping her alive more than the challenge of making a new character.

(OCC- I never have a need to TKO a char just to move a thread along. I love my chars to suffer with being the last living things in the verse. So no worries. Tho you might want to kill your self when you can't get rid of the little madman. hahahaah)
*Sound heard with in the force*
thump thump .......thump,thump,thump........Thumpity thump.
The sounds of two hearts awoke Halc. Fear that wandered in his mind started to take over which grew stronger with every passing second. This fear started to manifest it's self as and over all force fear coming from Halc. Slowly his mind tried to search out what it was but uncontrolled and maddened as Halc was all it did was move things here and there. This gave the ship that haunted feel of things going bump in the night.
Tools rattled and bounce on tables as Halc's force searched for the heart beats. Nothing was on the ship yet. Halc's fear grew more and more fearing what was coming for him. Thinking to him self in fits of madness......
scared sounding.....Why? Why are they coming here my precious, my love. Is it because Halc being bad and making those around him silent? What can we do will we wait and see? ..... ...... Yes lets wait and see that is the Jedi way..... but is it any longer our way my Love. Hmmm.... we must think upon this. Boy we are getting hungry again but they are out side and we are inside..... in shock...... but or precious is out side with them. Oh if we weren't so hungry we could think better. But we must wait 'It' is or way.
So with the fear building up in the transport ship Halc heard and felt the clank of the ships joining. It drove him further in his maddened fear curling tighter into a ball and letting his force wander through the ship searching again.
Halc's hungry mind fixated upon a empty tin of bantha meat near the now opening hatch slowly it rolled by with ghostly grace and clinked and banged it's way toward the mess-hall. The sound of the tin echoed of the metallic walls eerily. Every one in a while it would fall over and through the force Halc would rite it back up and move it onward toward the mess-hall. Items trembled as the tin got closer to the mess-hall. Papers moved by and unseen or unfelt wind drifted in the stale air never landing. The light of the mess-hall came and went at irregular point in times. Empty pipes howled as wind moved through them. With all this going on Halc tried to further bury himself in the force the result was more external movement of items and things.

Miran's breathing echoed loudly in the confined space of her helmet. She was used to it, but it was always a little unnerving to breathe in utter silence. She checked the external microphones, ensuring that they were working properly. The system was working normally, there was just nothing to be heard.
"Darren, are you getting all of this?" she asked softly. "There's nothing here. Even the life-support systems are silent." She extended the range of her sensors, but as usual they were worthless for anything outside of her line-of-sight. The metal simply was not transparent to the EM spectrum. "Yeah. I would think everybody is dead. Did you check the emergency system? Maybe there was an explosive decompression."
Miran started walking further into the ship before she spoke again. "There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the ship itself. There's a breathable atmosphere here, and the environmental systems aren't picking anything up." Darren sighed over the commlink then. "Be careful, hon. Something about this doesn't feel right." She grinned in her helmet, "I always am." "I just knew..." "Shh... I'm picking up something."
Miran's audio sensors detected a slight clanking noise. She guessed it was about twenty meters away, but it was impossible to be sure. She slowly worked her way towards the sound, with her pistol at the ready.
Her sensors picked it up before she did, as often happened, and the can was immediately targeted and analysed by her combat HUD. By the time she was able to react, the HUD had labeled the target as inert and non-threatening. Except it was floating in a full-grav environment. "Darren, there is definitely something wrong here. Does that look to you like what I think it is? "Nope. There's nothing on the sensors that could cause that. Only thing I've ever seen like it is a jedi, but they had a lot more control over it." "That's what I thought. It might explain what happened here." she paused and waited for a moment, wondering if anything else would happen.

The fear started to ware on Halc as well as the hunger.
Did we wait long enough? I don't know. What is she? She! How do we know it's a she? We feel her here and yet she feels shiny as well. OOOhhhh Shiny I must see her.
Reach out in the force Halc started to paw at her with multipel hands and tapping on her HUD unit. Every once in awhile a force hand would find a joint and pull at the pieces of armor.
Wondering to selfShe is shiny for sure love, but is she real we saw ones that were no longer flesh. We should speak to her. Yes speak we will.
Taping into the force Halc brought his voice to be heard in the mind of the female. It sounded wavey and lucid when he spoke as if he was speaking through water.
Echoing to Miran......Who is you? Is you a love? Are you shadow of life and darkness? Did you bring anything yummy to eat or are you yummy? I'm so hungry.

OOC: sorry about the delay. Miran's a bit odd when working with insanity.
IC: Miran started. What was that? she thought to herself. Something brushed up against the smooth surface of her armor, before it lost it's purchase and slid off. The hell is going on? "Darren? Are you seeing this? Darren's voice came over the comm, "Seeing what? There's nothing there." Miran sighed. "More jedi stuff I'll bet. It's brushing against my armor." She was just about to say something else when she was cut off by a voice that echoed in her head.
Who is you? Is you a love? Are you shadow of life and darkness? Did you bring anything yummy to eat or are you yummy? I'm so hungry. It was not wholly unexpected, she had encountered a jedi like this before, but the tone, what he was saying... "Darren. He just did that telepathic chat thing. I don't think he's sane, but he's definitely aware of us." "Osik. Do what you can, Cyar'ika, I'll see if I can spot him from here."
Miran acknowledged and started searching the ship room by room, using her sensors and hoping to find the slightest difference. The slightest hint there was something off kilter.

Is she confused? She know not where we are. We must show her the way yup yup.
Taking hold of the force and Miran's hand Halc moved Miran toward the kitchen gently moving her along till she stood in the door way of the kitchen. At that Halc tried to leave the fridge, but the door was blocked. Halc his force power had jammed the chair under the handle of the fridge and with feet wedged in the grated floor Halc was going no where fast.
He tried to make the fridge move but it to was bolted down to the floor so that in a crash it would not go flying away. With thumps and bangs Halc thrashed from with in the cold box. It was the force's will that they came at this time for Halc would have starved to death in the fridge.
How are we to show her we're here?... eyes popping wide.....The precious!!! They can help us.
With that Halc started to draw the pieces of precious items to him from the table to the fridge and draw them up to the center of the door.

Miran was not just frustrated anymore. Not finding the jedi was fine, so long as the hut'uun didn't bother herself or Darren she didn't care one way or another, it was his aloofness that got under her skin. Not only did this guy, whoever he was, not show his face, he had been manipulating her from the beginning. She was not one to be manipulated.
She continued her search of the ship, using her anger as both a shield and a fuel source, while patiently awaiting the discovery of the jedi's hiding place. And then he started tugging on her hand. If that wasn't enough to set her over the edge, not much would be. She barely managed to contain herself when the anger burst forth. She managed it, however, forcing that anger into her telepathic shielding.
While she was doing that, she was dragged along a few meters towards the galley. She hadn't searched the galley yet, but now that she thought about it, it was a likely hiding place for him. He had mentioned he was hungry after all. She slowly moved her way into the galley, the matte-black armor plates sliding silently as she moved, not that it mattered against a force user. The room was wholly illuminated by her sensors, which revealed several bodies on the floor. "Darren. I just found the crew." Darren glanced back to the display with Miran's sensor output on it and cursed in Mando'a. "Shab! That's not good. Watch your back, Cyar'ika.
"Yeah." Her voice was stable, but she was unnerved by those bodies. Not one of them was injured physically, but there were dried torrents of blood coming from their ears. Something nasty happened here. That was when she heard it. The sensors picked it up almost immediately, pinpointing the direction it came from. It wasn't loud, a simple shuffling sound followed by a quiet thud, but in that deadly silent tomb, any noise stood out.
She was almost immediately facing in the direction of the fridge, not quite sure where the sound had come from beyond the direction. As she watched, the fridge, with a metal chair wedged tightly against it's door, shook slightly against the bolts restraining it. It was minor, but the multispectral sensors picked it up effortlessly. Then several cans of half-rotten food moved, clattering against the cooler and just hovering there.
Obviously, she was supposed to move the chair out of the way. But she did so cautiously. She was still pissed after all, and being manipulated into doing something else was not very high on her list of priorities. The latch clicked as the chair clattered away, and she turned her pistol and attentions toward the fridge as it slowly creaked open.

Halc struggle with the door and tried with all his tiny muscles could do, but the door would not budge. He was going to grab hold of the new one and bring her closer to open the door but then he felt her in the room. Close and with her eyes locked in anger at the fridge. He noted that he must have done some thing wrong again but what he knew little of beings bigger than himself.
As he felt her move closer to the box he slowed his movements. Not able to see her he closed his eyes and felt her with-in the force. Yes she had anger but it was not her. Her being was a calm life with limits to people and boundaries. This is what he saw and felt, she had anger toward him for touching her and making her come to him with out her permission. He now felt sad at what he did he began to cry softly not letting the darkness of the force flow around him in it's sadness. The click of the fridge door brought Halc back to the now. He saw he was in the darkness for the things he did to her. He needed to make amends for it.
Slowly the door opened and there was Halc a poor sight of a wasted Aleen. His clothing was rancid and dirty. His true color was tinted by his own blood of the beatings he took at the hands of the pirates. Now it was dried and flaking as he moved slowly from the some what roomy fridge. Tins clanked as they fell upon the metallic floor either empty or to rotten to eat. He looked starved. But some where in his eyes an endless fire in the force could almost be seen in his large lantern like eyes.
Halc shifted uneasy on his feet not just sure what to say the his second savior. With head down and eyes away from her he moved to a nearby table which was mounded with all sorts of shiny objects. Reaching into the pile Halc grasped the only thing he felt truly unique. He held it with both hand hiding it until he was near to her. Lowering his head more he held up his filthy clutched hands slowly opening them. Held with in them was a cats eye shaped Rainbow Gem stone of three inches in length.
Slowly Halc said.........I'm sorry for touching joo. I did not know you only let one who is near touch joo. Sorry for darkness of mine. Joo may have my Precious of Hapan.

Even with the insanity that the jedi had shown, Miran was caught completely off guard at the figure she saw when she opened the freezer. She was expecting one of the jedi she had occasionally encountered over the years: disciplined soldiers aged far beyond their years. Instead, she was confronted with a man, child-like in both mind and stature. She was speechless, virtually unable to act as he moved about the room.
On some level, her combat training and reflexes still allowed her to keep track of the little man as he moved about, but she was still not reacting on a conscious level. It wasn't until he was talking that she came to her senses, and her combat-hardened mind filled in the lapse in her short-term memory.
...ching joo. I did not know you only let one who is near touch joo. Sorry for darkness of mine. Joo may have my Precious of Hapan.
She didn't quite know how to respond to that. Decorum said she should take it and provide a service equal to what was being offered, but what was that he was offering? It reacted oddly on the infrared spectrum, making it difficult to ID properly. She holstered her pistol and drew a glowrod, turning it on to coat the room in a dim light.
She slowly reached out, and cautiously took the gem from his hand. She turned on the external speaker on her armor. "Uum... thank you." she said softly, her anger forgotten in the shock of the moment. She looked at the stone in the palm of her gloved hand for a moment. "Oh, right. You were hungry, weren't you? Let's see if I can get you something to eat." She turned off the external microphone and carefully placed the stone in her belt-pouch. "Darren? You been getting all this?"
Darren's reply was almost instantaneous. "Yeah. What do you want to do with him?" "Well, I want to find out what happened here. If we can get away with it, I would like to bring this ship in intact." She sighed, "He doesn't appear to be hostile at all, would you mind bringing a ration pack? Leave it in the airlock, there's no sense exposing you to whatever happened over here. I don't think it's a plague or virus, but there are too many questions to risk it just yet." "Sure thing, Cyar'ika. I'll have a rat pack in the lock by the time you get there."
She turned her external mike back on. "Alright. My husband is going to get some food for you. I'll be back in a minute with it."

Halc watched the shiny stone leave his hands. Apart of him wanted it back but another knew better. These two side bickered with in his mind until the words "hungry' and 'food' made their journey to his awaiting ears. His wide lantern eyes widen more at the thought of food. Then a thought raced through his mind.....
Food. .. Food in the back, in the way back. Past the funny looking beings, should I go and find the food or wait. .... Is she coming back? How long has she been gone? Did say she has food or she has no food? ..... Oh well She not coming back but I like her she nicey nice. I'm hungry, why was I waiting? Oh well... I know where find food.
With that Halc moved to the connected cargo containers. As he neared the first container the ships auto systems kicked on. The life supports and sub-engines started to power up. The containers had no breathable air which made it easier on the ships engines and those aboard. Motion sensors were place for a reliable way to access the containers with out having to pump atmo into all the containers. Only the ones occupied were given atmo.
Halc went through four rooms before coming to a door, the door with the funny people. He tilled his head to the right and then to the left, but still he could not feel the funny people that were held with in. The door opened revealing ten Krath War Droids, five on each side of the container. Halc did not look at them nor did he slow to see how shiny their armor was. The last time he stayed to long they moved and stood over him and he did not like things that were that tall looking down on him. Though they did him no harm he still moved quickly to the farthest container.
The door opened and he found frozen angel fish and montitia feed nerf steaks. He pasted these up and went for the cans of expired bantha meat. Sitting down on a crate in the cold storage container be opened the can and slowly ate the rancid meat forgetting about the new arrivals.

Miran walked to the airlock where Darren had placed the rations, thinking about what they were going to do. There being survivors was, of course, the desired result, but this.... child.... unnerved her. "Darren. When you get back to the cockpit, see what the closest place to refuel is. Let's see if we can get this freighter up and running again. Is the full environment sensor in the airlock?"
Darren grinned, having already anticipated Miran's concerns. "Yeah, and I was already on my way to the cockpit to look that up. I wouldn't feel comfortable flying that sucker very far without giving it a once over. As a precaution, let's move the cargo onboard the Cuyir, just to prevent them from spotting it while they're giving the freighter their systems' check." Miran laughed, "That's a given. Whatever this guy was shipping, sure isn't going to go over well with most planetary authorities." The pair was quiet for a while. Miran occasionally heard a beep or two as Darren accessed the computer while she unloaded the sensors and the rations.
"Bantha Breakfast Biscuits, Darren? That'll make one hell of a first impression on the little guy. Barely met ten minutes ago, and now we're trying to poison him!" She laughed and continued her work while Darren came over the comm to defend himself, "It's not like you were going to eat it. Besides, he's half-starved. He'll probably like it and ask for more!" Miran just shook her head and grinned. The sensors were inside the ship now, and if there was an airborn contaminate it would soon be found. She grabbed the rat pack and headed back to the galley.
The galley way empty, but the IR sensors in her HUDD did a fine job of tracking his footsteps. He was headed to the cargo containers. "Darren. He's run back to the cargo containers. He's probably after the ship's stores. It's been almost two weeks since this ship reported in, I'll bet half the store is spoiled by now." "Probably." was all he said. He was paying her problem little mind as his attention was spent on the other problems at hand. She kept walking, moving thru the containers one by one and taking a rapid stock of what was in each of the containers while she went. Most were more-or-less typical trade goods. Expensive cloth, two containers filled with utterly rotten crates of once-valuable fruit, and a a container full of slightly unusual parts. And then she found it, the cargo her employers were looking for.
"uuh... Darren... This is going to be a bit more problematic than I had anticipated." Darren, shaken from his reveriee, replied. "What's wrong, Cyar'ika?" Darren asked before he checked her sensor feed. "Oh. This is going to be interesting." She stood still, surrounded by the Krath War Droids. They were taking no threatening action, and they were obviously waiting for orders, but she was still a little uncomfortable around them. Their reputation was legendary.
Miran slowly moved out of the cargo container, unconsciously holding her breath and hoping they were not going to attack her. They didn't, much to her relief, and the next thing she knew she was in the ships store, confronted by a disarming little blood-encrusted alien shoving rancid bantha meat into his face. Miran shuddered and turned on the external speaker. "You know. I have better food for you right here." Miran held up the ration pack and opened it for him, revealing the oddly colored bantha biscuit. "It probably tastes better than what you're eating now." She knelt and offered the ration to Halc, beconingly.

As Halc ate greedily at the spoiled meat he could feel Miran's sig. coming nearer to him. He watched her through the force until he could see her. He also noted that she balked a little at the strange beings, like he had when he first encountered them.
Upon entering the hold he was in he listened to her words. The words better and food got his attention. He saw the odd colored biscuit and slowly reaching out he took it. His eyes fluttering back and forth from biscuit to the faceless helmet. The biscuit was huge in his small Aleena hands his tiny fingers digging into the biscuit like as if it would jump from his hand and run off. Bringing it up to his nose he sniffed. Snorting and shaking his head and pulling the biscuit away from his face he said. . . . . .
Food odd, very odd. Not sure if rock or food. Has no smell but feels odd in life....bringing it closer to face he takes a bite. .....Blarg ........ it no has flavor eiver. It need companion.
Halc tilts his head to the left and starts to think, but it lasted for only four seconds. He swipes his light saber from his belt and tosses the biscuit into the air. Swiping the biscuit with the blade and toasting Halc then caught the biscuit and smeared the rancid meat between. Opening wide his mouth he took as large a bit his small mouth could. As the meat squeezed out the sides of the biscuit Halc groaned in pleasure at the combination. Readying for another bite he looked up a Miran and then at the biscuit. Holding the biscuit up to her he asks. ....
You wanna bite?

Miran blanched behind her helm at the rancid bantha meat being spread across the biscuit. Sure, she understood the biscuit being flavorless, but... "ugh..." she shook her head in distaste. This was repeated when Halc offered her a bite. "No thanks" she choked out, "I'm not hungry."
Her comm chimed and she turned off the external speaker for a moment. "Miran, the sensor just finished up. Whatever killed the crew is not airborn." Miran had a feeling she knew what the cause was, looking at the survivor's diet, "You might want to check the food. The survivor here has a particular preference for rancid meat. And since it's safe enough, you might as well come on over as well; see how much damage there is to the ship's systems. Just be careful about it, Cyar'ika, something doesn't feel right."
Miran could see his grin on the other side of the comm, "You know me, Cyar'ika, I'm always careful." She signed and turned the external speaker back on, focusing her attention back to the little alien. "I'm going to move the cargo over to my ship while my husband fixes this one." She triggered a command in her suit and the HUDD vanished as the transparisteel plate retracted. The external speaker turned off. "You coming with me or you going to keep him and his shiney tools company?"

Halc's great big eyes blinked slowly as he listened to Miran. She made mention of tools and a him. Halc tilted his head to the right and said....
Him! Who him? Is he the one that you let touch you? I like hims and mustard. Mustard is good. Him is nice? Must be nice if he wit joo. I see if him nice.
Halc gulps down the biscuit and folds his tiny arms behind him like an Admiral of a ship. His little feet banged on the floor as he left the hold. coming to the war droids Halc looked to his right and then his left. The droids were slumped over in a resting position. Halc coughed and stomped his right foot and the droid came to an attention. Halc slowly walked through them looking at each one in turn. When he got to the other door he turned and said ......'At ease!' .... and the droid slumped back into their stasis mode. He looked at Miran and said.
Shall we go?
He then turned and walked back to the mess of a mess hall.

(Occ-Story cut short regret not truly ending it the way it should.) Halc's tiny feet patted on the hard metallic flooring. All the while Halc whistled a happy little tune. Then fear grabbed hold of him. What was this fear? Was it a approaching dark sider? No, in fact it was the tune he was whistling his father always like that tune. It was the same tune that stood clearly out in Halc's mind on the day his parents were killed and ravaged by the wild rancor when he was little. He could see it all over again the warm sun the sweet smell of the newly blooming sweet grass. His brothers and sisters laughing at an old droll and dry humor joke his grandfather like to tell. There standing before him was his mother not wanting to leave him. His father still whistling looking to the horizon. All the while Halc could feel death upon the air and he could sense the rancors coming. Muffled he could almost hear his voice talking through weeping sobs not to go. Letting go, his mother left him and joined the others while his father pushed the external buttons to seal the hatch. Halc's father- Now Hal you be a good aleen and wait for us to come back. You hear? OK. We'll see you later.Halc could see the hatch closing and being able to do nothing to stop them. With a resounding metallic boom the hatch closed and seal their fate and Halc's forever. Snapping back to reality Halc's mind still held on to the final image. he looked around an wondered if who he saw was real or just with in his mind doubt started to break down his hold upon the flood gates that held his force in check, but it was to late. His hold upon the force snapped and it overflowed into him. It poured out like a torrent making it's physical form as a force scream. The scream echoed through out the ship and through out the force in that region. Halc screamed until he was horse but the force scream continued on for two hours, then Halc's world went black. He later found himself at fondor and a place called Hotel Cali. There is where he recouped much of his mind and spirit. Still the haunting of the day of his family's death hung over him like darkness upon an eclipsed moon. Would he regain his mind? Or would he chose to never remember that day ever again. -END-
