The Battle of Ilium (mods please read)

Ok, so heres an idea, now I'm not sure if I have much credibility on this site or am even supposed to suggest ideas, but I have a good one. Heres the idea.

The Crystal Mines of Ilium have always been where the Jedi go to make their sabers, It is a land of ice. I propose that the Sith attack the Jedi on Ilium, not only to obtain another crystal facility, but to slap the jedi in the face as well. heres a map, you guys are welcome to request changes.



Im not sure whether this is in your best intrest atm, just throwin it out there. I think this would be good to do.

There's only one Battlemaster and one Sith Lord at the moment, and we're both busy on Subterrel.

Ilium doesn't have that big of a population on it as far as I know...

There is very little on Ilium of interest to really either side from what I remember, not in terms of the republic or sith regular military.

as i explained, the jedi lightsaber creation facility is of importance to the jedi, and the republic will back them up

In this realm, the Sith will not want to openly attack the Jedi less put the will of the council against them. The GM of the Jedi will not face open war unless face on attacked. This would be an open attack that may push the hand of the council.

Battles concerning a faction are handled by the mod controlling the faction most of the time.

PSF and myself control the Jedi really, Cyberguy controls the Sith and Fringe.

I control the Republic more or less.

So you posting the intro wouldn't be needed. There's no Lightsaber facility as far as I know on Ilium. Jedi needing crystals for their lightsabers find the crystal on their own pilgrimage of sorts.

It's not industrialized as each saber is normally unique to the person.

This Attack seems rather useless if i might say. Why would the sith want to waste there time and effort attacking a crystal/lightsaber construction facility. I mean if there are few of them I'm sure their plot would lead to something else. as in the Jedi academy book series the remnants of the empire didn't waste there time attacking useless places, and yes though they are different era's it is a similar situation.

There is a crystal cave, but as far as i know, that is it. I'm not familiar with anything resembling a facility or anything more industrial than a natural cave full of crystals.

My point is just that it's not a militarily a point full target and while both the sith and the jedi have reason to want the cave (there arn't light saber factories) their is no certainty their regular militaries would help any after all for the armies it'd just be a costly waste of men and material.

Well the what planet would be a military priority? Wat if the sith besieged like kashyyk or something?

A military priority for the republic to hold would be any republic or neutral planet with a rare/vital natural resource or a shipyard/factories (Major ones).

Attack courscant it self thats a suicide but hey it's no doubt priority...

Kuat would be a more likely target, but I don't know about it's possibility and it'd also mostly be a space battle for it's orbital shipyards.

I do believe the next attack will be on Min Cal. Shipping yards and an unstable future. The people there have just emerged from a civil war and the Republic has staged most of its outer system defenses there. If the Sith attack and win, they gain the shipping lands, defeat most resistance in the Outer Rim, and gain the moral to attack more populated and defended worlds like Kuat or other Core Worlds.

hmm... im not a fan of space battles... but. w/e I think the sith should look into, as Myn put it, worlds with vital resources... like mannan.. or bepsin. then again gaining mon calamari would cripple the republic forces by reducing their fleets production abilities.

Ok, let me say this, and may it be the end of it.

Ilum, is located in the unknown regions (Galactic Northwest, from the core). It is so far out of the way, that it's captureing would do nothing more than piss off the Jedi. It is an un-strategic location for anything more than a last stand, or an insighting event.

Next.

The only building on Ilum, is a Jedi Temple. Within the temple nothing moves, nor stirs. It is very quiet, and very isolated, and very cold. Jedi would only go there for contemplation, and to complete their Lightsaber. Sith would never go there, unless there were a danged good reason.

For a Jedi it is an isolated location used only for a milestone event for a student of the lightside of the force.

A True darkjedi, would not know its location.

A Jedi who fell from light, assuming they knew the location in the first place. Would A.) Not wish to disturb its location, B.) Not care enough to disturb its location, C.) Not want to waste the time it would take to disturb its location.
