Reven took his mask, without the mask there could be no new Mandalore, without a Mandalore to lead them, the Mandolorians had become nothing more than Mercenaries...

Though during the period of the Jedi Exile Canderous Ordo would self proclaim the title of Mandolore upon himself.

So there could be a small military force of Mandolorians out there.

Ok, according to plot line 2 the mando's are sundered yet again.

According to Wookieepedia, there are still plenty of "Mandalorians" But they exhist mainly as workers, and as a people. Their culture would not change. Their force as a military is more or less null and void at this point. Thats mixing plot line two with cannon timeline.

Any survivors of the brief war would still exist as mercenaries and bounty hunters.

That about right?

It wont be for another...2000 years or so before Jaster Mereel attempts to reunite the Mandalorians under his Super Commando Codex, which is meant to stop the Mercenary lifestyle.

As far as wookieepedia is concerned, it is cannon. It was written prior to this RP line.

If you want to say that this RP is the only thing thats real, why even designate an era? Why bother to be sure people's characters aren't too close to cannon. Why even call it a Star Wars RP at all? Why have Jedi?

If your intention to not involve the history of Star Wars, why not just call it what it is? A rip off, or an emulator.

We designate an era to outline the technology and the history leading up. We create our own story for the purpose of discouraging canon characters.

And the beauty of Star Wars canon is that it is ambigous. Nothing has been written explicitly for this exact period in time. Which means that we can fill in the gaps.

And, in any RP, the players write their own story, creating their own history. Otherwise, all players do is copy canon events.

If you don't like it, leave. But don't call it a Rip-off or an emulator. If you do, I'll remove you.

I noticed that it is in fact, an ambiguous area in the timeline. Guess where I saw it? Wookieepedia. If you read back I never actually said that wookieepedia was fact, I did however attempt to point it out as an excellent source for information.

As a writer, and student of history, you understand the necessity of checking your sources. Thats all I was doing, and attempting to confirm here.

All right children, settle down. You both make valid points, so why don't we just keep this what it is: A Plot Discussion. You both are getting a little side tracked with your squabbles.

I don't really want anyone getting banned. We need the members, and it would be a shame to lose a talented and active member.

I don’t see what the problem is as it’s common practice among role-playing forums, which utilize a different universe, to twist the canon slightly. Most do it to avoid being boring or predictable, or so that they can include original characters with more ease. While others are simply playing it out how they would have actually liked to see it. It’s usually only attempted by the forums with a little imagination, actually.

Whether or not you like it, the forum is “based” off the Star Wars universe and most of the RP’ers here are probably fans, so something silly like “Why have Jedi?” or “Why even call it a Star Wars RP at all?” should be pretty self-explanatory. And, even if they’re not carving the canon history into their hearts, it doesn’t mean they’re not trying to make the forum’s plot as close as possible to a canon setting and they probably don’t want to meddle with times which have a set history, so choosing an era makes sense. Also, if they simply labeled it “Star Wars RP” without setting an era, how many Obi-Wans and Luke Skywalkers do you think they might have to deal with?

Xaojii, Reigner, Myself, and Myn are about to begin the first real battle of the war. It will be taking place on Dantooine. Other battles will follow in rapid succession. If you want in on this or any other battle pm the following people.
