For readers, a note on the Miraluka race and how it relates to Kei.
Name: Kei Haener
Race: Miraluka
Age: 12
Height: 4'10"
Weight: 108 lbs
Appearance: Kei is just a bit short for her age, something she isn't happy about, standing at four feet, ten inches. As for her weight, it's also below average, though just a bit this time, since it's 108 pounds. Her eye color is rather fitting and stereotypical, considering she's blind; it's a rather pale gray color, although you wouldn't be able to tell since she has her eyes covered with a piece of cloth. As for her hair color, it's pretty dark to say the least, so much so that it'd be difficult to see her hair if you were searching for her in the dark. Finally, her skin tone is rather..well, fitting again, since she was born on Tatooine, a desert planet; her skin tone is tan.
Personality: Kei is not very...well, jedi-like at first glance. She is usually pretty moody, and stubborn to boot. She almost always believes she is right, which means she can be overconfident at times. Despite these qualities that are pretty much anti-jedi, she has a few jedi-like qualities as well; for example, she has great determination when doing something, and is loyal to a cause that's worth fighting for. She also has a great deal of compassion, despite her stubborness and, again, despite her stubborness, she is open to the ideas of others, provided they're logical ideas.
Birth place: Tatooine, Anchorhead
Faction: New Jedi Order
Rank: Youngling
Bio: Kei was born into a dirt poor family on Tatooine, but despite the dirt poor status, her family got along just fine; it was just her, her father, and her mother. Her mother worked in a...less than moral place, due to the fact that she hadn't lost her youthful look from the birth of Kei, and her father worked as an engineer, repairing any ships that came through Tatooine for a reduced fee. One interesting person that periodically was in Tatooine was a jedi. She only saw him once or twice though; from what she gathered of him, he was a decent person, and although he didn't tell her much about the jedi, her father did, spending more time with him.
Anyway, Kei admired the jedi, and was disheartened, since she believed she could never join their ranks; she had no idea that she had already been using the Force to see people. She frequently spoke to her father about what the jedi were like. Using his information from the single jedi he spoke to, he decided to tell her. Her chats with her father about the jedi were cut short, however, when a traveler going through believed her father to be cheating him; it didn't take long for the news to reach them that her father had died. This was the time when Kei began to grow moody, and subsequent events didn't help out at all. Soon after her father had died, she was playing, as she often did, and had wandered outside of the city, into the deserts of Tatooine. She wasn't out in the desert for long, of course, but she had managed to find her way back to the city without being eaten by any animals, or being attacked by any Tusken Raiders, due to her force abilities. Her mother, however, had attempted to follow her; she, unfortunately, met the Tusken Raiders.
She learned of this swiftly too, and with no one to pay for it, she was kicked out of the house she had been living in for quite a while. She was forced to live on the bitter cold and hot streets of Anchorhead, but only for a short while; she happened to wander by the spaceport one day and realized that a jedi was present. She didn't know it, but the jedi she sensed was there was familiar with her, and just as she was leaving the spaceport, he called out to her. She was, obviously, hesitant at first to approach him, but then she recognized his voice and that went away. She recounted what had happened to him, and after he asked how she had come to escape the desert without harm, she told him of how she 'saw' so to speak. Recognizing this as a force ability, the jedi soon decided to take her back with him for training into the Jedi Order.
She just narrowly managed to become a youngling before she hit the age of six, and almost immediately, the other younglings were wondering how she saw. Due to her race, that should have been pretty obvious, but she told them anyway. Some of the younglings weren't impressed, having seen it before, but the ones unfamiliar with the Miraluka species were curious about it. At the time, she was wondering just how it was she had come to naturally use the force like that with no instruction, and decided that it had to be something inherent to her race. When she asked about it, she was told that her species usually did use Force Sight to see. Other than the revealing of how she saw, her youngling years went fine; she was obviously proficient when it came to the Sense category of the force, since that was how she saw the world.
She proved good in the Shii-Cho style, along with melee combat; this is probably because she can tell just what exactly someone is going to do while in combat. Since she is using Force Sight all of the time, she is able to see everything an opponent may be doing, be it a subtle step in a direction, or a jump up into the air. Also, her hearing has emerged as a secondary way to replace her sight; it is rather impeccable, and it hasn't been unknown for her to be able to tell just where a person is, based on the sound they make when they move.

The blind girl was walking; more specifically, she was walking through a rather desolate hallway, making her way to the area used for younglings. At the moment, she was nine years old, and had been a youngling for three years; some people still didn't like her too much, and others just tolerated her. There really weren't that many that weren't either mean to her or didn't care about her; basically, she didn't have that many friends. It didn't bug her too much though, since she wasn't social to begin with, and even if she were, she wouldn't be friends with people who couldn't get over her blindness.
She paused, since around the corner, she could 'see' three auras, each moving around slightly and apparently talking to each other quietly, judging by the way their hands were moving. She slowed her pace in order to become more quiet, and made her way over to the corner leading into the hallway the three were at; she concentrated, and could hear their voices. Apparently, they were three males, and they had been planning to jump her, for reasons that she couldn't fathom, since she didn't stay listening too long before she decided to stop them from bothering her.
One moment, the boys were still whispering their plan to each other, and the next, she stepped into view of them. They, of course, rushed towards her, but in one fluid motion, the nine year old girl used Force Push, and knocked the boys away. Realizing how useless it would be to try and approach someone that would just continue to push you back, the boys fled, and she was left not knowing what they had planned. It wasn't like it mattered to the girl though, since this happened rather sporiodically, and at times, seemed to be just plain random. With a sigh, the girl went on her way, proceeding to the chamber the younglings were to be in. She, of course, was going to be late, due to the three that had made her late, but she did find some satisfaction in the fact that they would be late too. Before she went on her way, she walked over to where the three boys had landed after her Force Push, and picked up three scraps, obviously they were from the clothing of the three boys.
She stopped in front of a door and paused again, this time focusing on her Force Sight ability. It took a couple of moments, but she was able to see the aura of the door, and then past that, she saw the aura of a group of people; the auras were child-sized, and among them was a bigger aura, obviously coming from the one teaching them. She decided she might as well not delay the scolding to come any longer and proceeded to open the door, and then step into the room, closing the door behind her. Obviously, the Jedi noticed her and turned towards her as she entered. "Kei, this is the fifth time you've been late. As a youngling, you should try and be on time," He began to explain to her; she had heard this lecture before, and despite that, she tried to listen to it everytime, since he was still her elder.
The lecture seemed to go on and on, but eventually, it ended. "What do you have for an excuse this time?" He finally finished, and she paused for a few moments. "Well, actually, I would like to tell the truth this time," She stated, and as she said that, she could feel three auras move slightly; she found herself wanting to smile just a little. "Him," she pointed at one of the culprits. "Him," She repeated, pointing at another culprit. "and him are the reason I was late." She finished, pointing at the last culprit before lowering her finger. "Prove it." One of the culprits replied, and she had suspected he would say that. In response, the young girl simply presented the scraps from earlier to the teacher. "Just look at their clothes, and I am sure you'll see those scraps match up to the holes perfectly." She said simply; she had gotten an edge of the culprits for once, having finally thought to bring some proof instead of just naming the culprits without proof.
Essentially, all Miraluka are born blind, since they lack eyes, but they also are born with the ability to see using Force Sight. Their Force Sight was so strong that, just by looking at a sith or a jedi they could see the force radiating off of them. Also, for social reasons, they usually hid their eyes via a mask or a headband, similar to Kei's cloth. Due to the fact that Kei's Miraluka, her parents are as well, although they seemed to have less of an attachment to the Force; that's not to say they weren't Force-sensitive, they just weren't as much as she was.
