Psych

So, I started watching this show a week or two ago and as soon as I started I could not stop. I don’t know how this show manages to be ridiculously silly one moment and then deadly serious the next but it pulls it off really well.

The content itself is hilarious as well, from the random throw-away lines to the well developed pop-culture tributes, it kept me highly amused and interested throughout. I also enjoy how it’s open to referencing The Mentalist on several occasions (since the shows are based on a very similar concept, though I find both are highly amusing).

I managed to watch all 5 seasons over the past week or so and I’m kind of upset I have to wait until the summer for season 6.

Just wanted to know if there are any other folks out there who watch this show and what they think/like about it.

<3 Psych. I pretty much am laughing during 95% of every episode.

And despite the fact that about 90% of the TV I watch are crime-related, this show is still fresh and new all the time. Plus freakin' hilarious. And the writing is awesome.


(PS: I love the references to the Mentalist, because it's pretty much almost a ripoff of Psych and it makes me laugh because the Mentalist is so stupid. ).

Every time I eat a pineapple I think of them. ^^ I've the first three seasons on DVD, and have watched every one of the episode commentaries on them. ^^

Do you do the Spot the Pineapple thing? My sister tries every week and rarely finds it. It frustrates her.

I actually find The Mentalist amusing for its own reasons but Psych is just fantastic.

And the Psych-outs for the three hole punchare hilarious. Finding the pineapple in every episode seems quite the challenge but I think one day I'll try to see if I can find it.

This show is seriously just amazing.

I don't think they started the pineapple challenge right away, so it's only in the last 2-3 seasons, I think. I don't remember.


What your guys thoughts on Shawn and Juliet hooking up? Personally, it seems too soon for me. But as long as the writers keep things fresh, it should work out. (A lot of TV shows go down the tubes once main characters get romantic).

There's been a pineapple in almost every episode, even since the very beginning. It's something they just started doing, and then it caught on, and more recently has become the sweepstakes thing. X)

Too soon? It's been five frikkin' years... Even though I haven't been watching it for that long. X) But that's beside the point.

I'm not really worried. I have a lot of faith in the writers for the show, and I know that even if they've gone 'will they' vs 'won't they', they have something splendid planned. X) Remember 'A very Juliet Episode'? It's almost been one year.... :3
