Bio: Rem was born to a Mandalorian Mercenary by the name of Ardent Loria and a woman that was her mother, a woman Rem still knows nothing about. Ardent and Rem's mother lived fast and fell hard. Home for them was wherever they made it. They traveled the Galaxy, Rem's mother admiring Ardent's warrior spirit and Ardent enjoying finally having someone at his side after a long life of nothing but fighting wars on others behalf.
However the romantic vagabond lifestyle ended when Rem's mother found out she was pregnant. Both Ardent and her were annoyed at the prospect of raising a child, but neither wanted to commit to 'removing' the problem before it presented it self. Too much trouble and room for regret later on. So she carried the pregnancy to term and after the turn of the New Year, gave birth to Rem. She had her mothers eyes but her fathers dark hair. Holding the newborn in her arms, she decided she couldn't give her up. She was just too darn cute. And Ardent was honored to have a child so like him brought into the galaxy. However, shortly after Rem's birth something terrible happened to her mother.
What it was, Ardent never spoke about it after it occurred. His heart was broken but he persevered through his pain and kept finding Mercenary work through out the Galaxy, to keep both him and his daughter alive. Rem also grew up with stories about the Mandalorian wars through out history, how the Mandalorians had followed the Sith through out history and received so little in return aside from devastation to both their people and their wealth. Rem soon grew to resent, and eventually hate Sith (and other Dark siders all together) During her toddler years, Ardent also started to notice something strange about Rem.
When she cried, she shook objects through out the room. She snapped toys she was bored with without even touching them. When she giggled, her voice amplified and shook the entire foundation of wherever they were living at the time. Rem was Force Sensitive, he discovered! But he didn't have time to worry about the possible implications of this. In his efforts to keep clothes on Rem's back and food in her stomach he had fallen in with some pretty seedy people. He had refused them a job, and in revenge they attempted to target his family.
Bad move.
Ardent killed the people sent after Rem and the bastards who sent them. But now he was a wanted man. And so he did the only think he could think of to keep Rem safe. A girl with her abilities needed to learn how to master them. And so he left her on the steps of the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine, and left her behind.
Since then Rem has had sporadic contact with her father while she has trained to become a Jedi, usually a holo-letter on her birthday with some credits attached. She longs to see him face to face again and is intent on making that dream come true. Meanwhile, she continued her training at the Enclave. Her master, a Falleen Jedi named Zyr took an interest in the young human right away and gained permission to take Rem as her Padawan.
After more than a decade of your typical Jedi training, Zyr decided to take Rem on her first mission that promised combat. A Dark Jedi had taken up root somewhere in the plains of Dantooine and they were to apprehend him. The mission went to plane, locating the Dark Jedi in a small campsite he had made for himself. However, he proved unwilling to go quietly.
And more than that he proved to be a more than capable combatant. He engaged Zyr and Rem in a fierce duel and despite her every effort to protect her apprentice, Zyr was slain, impaled on the Dark Jedi's crimson blade. Grief stricken, Rem charged the Dark Jedi head on...and lost her right hand to a quick, disdainful slice of the mans Lightsaber. However, in his arrogance as he prepared to finish her off, he failed to notice her raising her lightsaber behind him with the force. He was bisected in a quick flash of blue light, and she then crawled over to tearfully embrace her masters limp body. She promised both her self and Zyr that she would become the Jedi Knight Zyr told her she could be. After this, she received a cybernetic replacement for her hand.
