Alright, so, as most of you know, with the start of ACT I, we’re beginning a huge galaxy-wide conflict: The Rim Wars. And, due to the fact that we faced several difficulties in the First Battle of Subterrel, I’ve decided to come up with a basic idea on how we’re all going to participate in galactic warfare fairly.
You’ll notice that each world has been labeled as belonging to a certain Faction. The current factions are Republic, Sith, Hutt, Corporate Sector, Mandalorian, and Neutral. Now that the war has begun, each of these planets is controlled by somebody. Within The Rim Wars, worlds will be attacked and conquered. The way this works is pretty simple. To demonstrate, I will use the world of Kashyyyk.
Kashyyyk, while a neutral planet, is not defenseless. It is still inhabited by a powerful species, the Wookiees. So let’s say the sith decide to attack for whatever reason. What happens next is somewhat like character combat. One or more players will either play or NPC the sith forces. Then, one or more OTHER players will play or NPC the wookiees. The two sides will engage in battle over the planet, and whichever side is victorious, takes control of the planet.
Now, you may be wondering to yourself. “Self, how do two sides compete when they all have fictional unlimited resources?” Well, the way it will work is a lot like DeathMatch combat. All battles will be followed closely by some member of the Staff or a volunteer proctor. This proctor will make sure that nothing goes awry (God-modding, etc.)
Basically, though, the better writers will win the battle. The Procter should do very little but make sure that things keep moving and that nothing goes wrong. In order to make the battles work when more than one person is on any given side (as I hope there will be, at least in the major battles) it may be best for allied players to discuss strategy before acting.
Any character may only be in one battle at a time, but a player may NPC as many battles as they wish, as long as they do not NPC both sides of any given battle.
To close, I would like you all to rest assured that there is no plan for The Rim Wars. The outcome depends entirely upon you all. NO mod or admin is allowed to state what planets may or may not be attacked. If you want to send the entire army to Coruscant on day two, go right ahead. I can not, and will not stop you.
