Bio:
Izual was the first of five children to be born into the Strauss family. A simple middle class family, the Strauss' were doing about as good as any family could be. Though having five children was an imposing task Mrs. Strauss took it in her stride and handled them all very well. As the first child though, Izual always seemed to receive just a little more love from his parent's than his other siblings.
He attended school as any normal child would. Izual definitely possessed above average intelligence but nothing that truly set him apart from others. The boy made friends easily, and was somewhat looked up to by many other children his age. Even at such a young age, this garnered jealousy from some of his other classmates. Izual had his share of tussles and fights. Aside from that, he was a rather pleasant child and went about life as any normal child should.
It wasn't until Izual was 13, that his life took a drastic turn. His youngest sister had always had a weak constitution. She had gotten quite sick before, enough to worry Izual and his parents greatly. Yet she seemed to pull through every time to his relief. She had been sick for the last couple days but Izual expected her to recover soon, but it was not to happen. He had been called out of class, taken home, and given the news of sister's death. It hit him harder than he ever could have expected, and it would take him a long time to recover.
Izual's personality changed after his sister's death. He wasn't the content child he had once been. As could be expected of any teenager who had been through such trauma, he had to find an outlet. There was drinking for some, drugs for others, but for Izual it was fighting. Any little instigation was more than enough reason for him to start a fight. Initially the school let it slide to a certain extent, he was still punished but not as any normal kid would have. They could only do this for so long, as the violent behavior continued.
Mrs.Strauss had taken her daughter's death about as hard as her son. The only thing keeping her from breaking apart was her husband and children, and Izual wasn't helping the situation at all. It wasn't long before he was kicked out of his first school, and the family had to move. Things progressed or degraded depending on how you look at it, once Izual changed schools. Instead of fighting at school, he got into underground fighting. Though he hadn't had any formal training, he was a natural brawler. Slowly making his name in the underground fighting circuit.
Years of fighting had honed Izual into a tough albeit cold teenager. His underground fighting had given him an outlet for his anger. Soon his grades began to pick up at school, and he almost completely stopped fighting at school. Neither of his parents could with certainty guess what their son was up to, but they could no doubt make an educated guess. They had three other children to worry about though, and realistically, Izual wasn't causing them any direct trouble. The teenager had truly believed that fighting was something that he could do for the rest of his life. It would be, but just not in a way he could have predicted.
Returning from another evening of fighting, Izual stumbled on an incident that truly shook his foundations. Upon passing one of the city's rather sketchier part of town, he heard loud screaming coming from inside of one of the run down buildings. The scream absolutely rattled the kid to his core. He could hear the pain, the cry of despair in the voice. Adrenaline began to pump as Izual shot into action. Moving towards the side alley, he found a small window that was possibly attached to the basement. Glass shattered as Izual barely managed to slip through the window.
He had indeed seemed to have been in the basement of the building. Another scream spurned Izual to move faster, up the stairs and onto the next level. The main level seemed to be empty, but voices and screaming could be heard upstairs. Quickly making his way to the next floor, he finally stopped in front of the door from which the screaming came. Izual gathered his courage, and his anger as the door slide open. There in the room were four other men, and the bloody and bruised body of a young girl. They turned to see the figure of Izual with a mixture of surprise and perverse pleasure on their faces. That was all he needed as the teenager shot forward.
Izual planted a fist in the first man's face, sending him reeling. He kicked the next man square in the chest. Ducking the 3rd man's swing, he sent his fist into the man's kidneys. So it followed, as Izual brutally beat up the four. Luck was on his side as all the men seemed to be quite drunk and their attacks were sloppy. Three of his companions incapacitated, the fourth man decided to step the fight up a notch by whipping out a knife. At this point, Izual's adrenaline was starting to drop, and fatigue was setting in. The man came at him with sloppy strikes but the tired Izual still managed to get cut multiple times. Finally making a hasty jab, Izual reversed the man's strike and sent the blade into the other mans' chest.
Bleeding from multiple wounds, and dead tired, Izual still felt accomplished. He managed to call the authorities and was taken to the nearest medical facility along with the girl. After receiving medical treatment, the police questioned him multiple times, and eventually let him go, satisfied with his answers. The next day, he received a rather heroic welcome from those in the underground circuit. He was also approached by an imposing man, who said he had heard about Izual's recent exploit and had a proposition for him. The man was an officer in the military, and recommended that Izual sign up. He didn't accept at first, but over the next couple days, the idea began to appeal to him greatly. A week after saving the girl, Izual signed up for the Sith Army.
Izual's reason for joining the military was pretty simple. He wanted to experience that same feeling that he had the night he saved that girl. There was something about triumphing over those four men, the satisfaction in knowing that you had accomplished something to be truly proud of. He believed that if there was any place that he could experience this feeling again, it would be in the military. Though this would be a completely different animal from his underground fighting.
There was no doubt that Izual showed potential. Though he never seemed to excel as some of his other peers did. As a child, he had once been able to draw others to him, it seemed that had not entirely left him. He was constantly made squad leader during many of the training exercises. His sometimes unusual and non standard tactics made him an interesting candidate for the brass. Though at this point in time, he still hadn't displayed his full leadership potential.
On completion of basic, Izual's superiors recommended that he attend OCS, as they believed he showed leadership potential. While many would jump to the honor, the young man politely refused the offer. He wanted to earn his salt as an enlisted soldier before attempting to become an officer. It wasn't unheard of, so his superiors allowed his request. Though it wasn't as if he graduated completely without merit. Upon completing basic, he was given the rank of sergeant right out of the gate.
The new soldier was initially assigned to the army's 121st infantry division. Though it was a new experience, it wasn't all that exciting. The truth was that there wasn't much for the army to do at this point. It was obvious that they were training for something which could be easily guessed at, but he didn't see a war happening anytime soon. Thus it was a rather steady but monotonous road for Izual.
That wasn't to say that Izual didn't pick up some interesting things along the way. Along with his promotion to staff sergeant, he was given the option to focus on a specialty. There was snipers, communications....Izual chose demolitions. He didn't really have a specific reason why he was drawn to such a thing but apparently it was the right choice. Anyone could see that he had a knack for this whole blowing things up deal. It was a skill that would support Izual throughout his military career.
It wasn't until Izual had been promoted to Warrant Officer 2nd class that his career took an interesting turn. Izual was introduced to a rather serious looking soldier who definitely didn't belong in the normal army. Just as he had guessed, the man was from special forces and came to offer Izual a place in it, assuming he made it past their initial training. This wasn't an offer he could refuse, it was a chance to hopefully actually do something meaningful.
Special Forces truly was a totally different beast, but Izual relished the challenge. It was much more demanding both physically and mentally but he was soon fully assimilated. Those in his unit had already had combat experience in places they couldn't divulge yet it was clear by just looking at them that they weren't lying. Therefore he made sure to listen and observe carefully so he could pick up as much as possible. That being said, Izual didn't see any action until his first year in SF was nearing its end.
Apparently the Sith Empire had their own internal problems aside from the tension with the Republic. Every once in awhile, a band of insurgents would decide that they wanted to do some real damage. The government didn't take too kindly to such thoughts. It was the Special Forces job to make sure that they didn't have the chance to inflict any damage. The mission was relatively close to home as it was still on planet. They were to infiltrate and neutralize a wealthy oil magnate, who decided to take bribes from some rather unsavory characters. Intelligence suggested that he was gathering a small private army that would definitely be up to no good.
Upon arrival at the compound, the squads were in for a nasty surprise. It seemed that security was double that of what intelligence had initially indicated. Despite that fact, the mission was to proceed. Things soon went south as Izual's squad leader went down, with about half of the other soldiers either being injured or killed. The ensuing confusion and lack of structure was only making things worse. Izual quickly recovered from the initial shock, and began patching together squads and handing out orders. The mission was a failure, but thanks to Izual, a good deal of soldiers were still living. It was clear to his superiors that Izual's potential was being wasted, and that it was time he became an officer.
Izual completed OCS without much difficulty and was given the rank of 2nd lieutenant upon graduation. Many times it was hard being an officer and given a squad of unknowns and working well together. Izual, luckily didn't have such a problem. He was known to those in the SF, and to them, he had already earned their respect. Thus when he was given command of his first squad, things went along quite smoothly.
The next couple years were marked with sporadic missions, alongside promotions. Now in his mid thirties, Izual had achieved the rank of captain. His reputation among those in the Special Forces community had been steadily growing. He was slowly turning to legend, and his appearance acted as a catalyst. Multiple scars covering face, showing that he was not afraid to get in the thick of things, and willing to take large of amounts of pain for the mission and his fellow soldiers.
More years passed and Izual found himself on Dantooine. The first true battle that he had ever been in. These were no rebels but the Republic, a planet that was home to the famed Jedi Enclave. His SF had been key in the Sith Empire's overall victory. His courage and strategy in battle had gained him the rank of Major. There were few who didn't know of Izual's exploits in the military community. Not everything was going good for Izual, and the Sith Empire, atleast so he believed.
Though Dantooine was unexpected, Mon Calamari and Mygeeto were even more so. Izual and his group were sent to Mygeeto, and so he did battle there, and once again the Sith Empire was victorious. Once again, his military prowess had garnered him the rank of lieutenant colonel. It was after this battle, that Izual noticed some disturbing things. These invasions seemed rather out of character for the Sith aristocracts. There were rumors about others pulling the strings. Being at an upper position in the Special Forces, Izual was hearing stranger things by the day. Then came the invasion on Rhen Var, and suddenly things became clear. Izual did not support these 'Sith', and made that fact clear. Some of his peers agreed, most did not. The lieutenant colonel's future is now suddenly very unsure.

Omega squad had dispatched to the planet, to deal with some radical aristocrat who had ideas that were not to the liking of some. Their mission was designation was simple, infiltrate the camp and eliminate the aristocrat. Of course while the order itself may sound simple, it wasn't exactly a walk in the park. Omega squad had been lying in wait just outside the compound perimeter. The compound was actually the Aristocrat's mansion partly turned into a fortress but it wasn't without weaknesses.
He heard Static on his comm and then a click
"Lead..."
He clicked his comm and responded
"This is Lead, go ahead Bravo"
Another quick hiss of Static
"Found what looks like an unused back entrance, overgrown with plant life, explains why it doesn't seem to be heavily guarded. There is a guard who is patrolling near the area but seems to keep his distance as to not suggest where the entrance is."
"Roger that Bravo, ghost the guard, we will rendezvous at your location in 5..out"
Five minutes later Omega squad rendezvoused at the overgrown entrance, and as expected, there was no guard in site. Izual gave a quick series hand signals which indicated for Bravo and Delta to clear the door while Sierra would prime the door with explosives. Thermal had suggested there were two guards right behind in this door, inside the compound. The compound wasn't too heavily defended, so Izual didn't mind making a little noise. Sierra gave Strauss a thumbs up and signaled for anyone to back away. Izual turned to Sierra, nodded his head, and there was an explosion.
Delta and Izual burst through the door, swiveling their weapons from left to right, scanning the area. He was surprised when no one came running. Another series of hand motions, and the squad moved in slowly, and began to spread.
"Man those guys got squashed.."
"I think I stepped in somebody's stomach"
"Cut the Chatter you two."
As the squad made their way to the interior of the compound, Izual would hear intermittent clicking on his comm signaling it was clear. The Captain heard voices and signaled for the squad to take cover. He peaked around the corner and saw two guards walking and looking quite bored. Izual pointed at Delta and Sierra and then clenched his fist, signaling them to hold. He then pointed at himself and Bravo and drew a quick line across his neck with his finger. Strauss and Bravo flanked the two soldiers and just as they passed in front of them, jumped behind and slipped a dagger into the back of their neck.
Izual moved his finger in a circular motion and the squad regrouped on him. Hopefully they would finish this mission quick and be back in time to get some food.
