Dude, he was the joker in the new batman movie=badass badguy. "The Knight" from a Knights tale, though that part is arguably gay as he went for the rich chick that looked like a 10 year old boy and not the rugged buxom armor smith with the cogney accent.

Mary kate oslen raped him and set it up. It's all a lie.
Completely kidding, but yeah Sir Ulrich von Lichtenstein was my dream boy in my high school days, which was only like 2 years ago, but still. I really did love Heath Ledger, he was one of my favorite actors.

I never watched any of his movies. But I was planning on watching Batman: Dark Knight. It's tragic what happened to him. Anyone know if he finished the movie or if they have to get a new actor to finish joker?

It's sad really. His last role is a crazed psychotic madman who looks nothing like the joker.

From pictures I thought they did a fantastic job picking him for the role as the joker, i just wonder what they'll do now if they didn't finish filming.

Yeah, its too bad Tim Burton Effs' up everything he gets his hands on. I liked the first Batman but I think they are stretching it with the crack addict Joker.
though the movie is scheduled to release this summer so they must have finished filming End of 2006 or early 2007.

Yeah...the idea they set up for this joker is kinda lame. Ever since the creation of joker he was a crazed killer with great jokes. This guy seems like a killer with a smile he painted onto his face while on crack. Maybe if he looked remotely close to the canon version of the joker I'd be satisfied.

I always took Joker to be a thinker, not a fighter. Kinda prissy, a dandy...someone that fought with the mind and not with the fist. This is definitely an odd, gritty take on him. It sounds like he's got the voice down, from what I can hear on the trailers. I'll just have to reserve judgement until I actually see the movie.
Let's just hope it turns out to be something good and memorable. I'd hate to have his last performance be horrid so that he's remembered for that AND possibly committing suicide.

It sucks that heath ledger died he was a good actor. Except in brokeback mountain which I'm not going to get into. AS joker I hope her did a good job cause as of right now no one can beat Jack Nicholson at that part. hopefully Heath can live up to the role even though he's dead....

I doubt it was suicide... He had a daughter didn't he? And he'd just finished a big movie. The guy had everything to live for.
No, I heard somewhere that he was an insomniac, and took sleeping pills. I think he took too many and thats how he OD'd... That's what I've heard..

Not trying to dig up all old threads but I wanted to commend the late Ledger on his preformance in the Dark Knight. It was a honorable, though untimely, ending.

All I have to say is that his "ending" in the Dark Knight film was well played. And his performance was uncanny. A totally different Joker from what we've seen, and yet truer to the actual character then ever. Fantastic job; it was as if he dissappeared into the role.

Heath Ledger totally blew all the actors off the screen in Batman: The Dark Knight. His portrayal of a deeply complex and yet brutally simple Joker was fascinating and has made TDK one of the best comic book films of our time.
The film itself was riveting and seem to tick all the right boxes. Furthermore, there were moments of utter brilliance in that film that i will always remember and i'm sure everyone else will. However, what I would say is that the ending with the two boats though compelling, in comparison to the rest of film fell slightly short of my expectations but nevertheless the final confrontation with Two Face quickly whisked away any doubts.
It's a great shame that he died at such a young age.
