We all have our arguments to the creativity, or competency of our dear Mr. Lucas, but one things for sure; he knows how to make a couple bucks. He knows when to cash in just at the right moment for him to get money.
Lets take a look at HD, wherein he managed to remake all the old movies look /good/ when this technology hadn't yet been too successful in restoring older films. Now, that's gone off like wildfire and everything is in HD.
Well, in my mind I have a feeling that old George wouldn't sell in unless they had captured a way to make his movies in 3D look good. Honestly, he's always been innovative as far as the graphics, the filming, and the ideas go. I think he'll restore them into an epic 3D experience, but I'm not quite sure if I'll want to go see them all xD
Possibly the third one, because it'll be epic to see those sword fights in 3-D (if its any good). So, your opinions? Do you think it'll be a success, or a flop? Which movies (if any) will you go see? YOU DECIDE :3

Eh, I've never been much of a fan of 3D in movies to begin with. Always just felt like a stupid gimmick to me. Will these do well at the box office? Probably, with Star Wars in the name. Am I going to see any of them? Not currently planning to, no.

Bah, a waste of time in my opinion. 3D is losing its novelty. This is just a way for them to earn more money. Not gonna see them, though Rugs is right, probably will do well in the office because its Star Wars. Der ^_^

Blah blah blah Star Wars in 3D Seriously. :/ I just don't approve of 3D at all. To me, it's a stupid gimmick used only for 'OMFG IT ARE SO DEEP' or 'OMFG FLYING AT ME' effect. It just doesn't interest me at all.

3D would be alright if people actually did it properly.
Most 3D movies now days are just like some effects in the beginning of the movie and then the producers kinda forget it was supposed to be in 3D and there is barely effort in attempting to make the entire movie a '3D experience'
If I hear good things about it, I'll go but otherwise :/

Agreed with Jazen.
IMO they are doing this to obtain MOAR money and it will likely be even more chopped up and re-edited than the latest blu-ray releases.
I am a fan of the movies but no thanks. Pass.

Say what you want about Lucas's writing and storytelling skills, but he's always been on the forefront of film tech, and he does not skimp on the special effects. We're talking about a guy who when existing special effects studios couldn't give him the dedication and quality he needed, simply made his own. And it was awesome.
So I don't think there's a whole lot of reason to be concerned that the 3-D job will end up a horrorfest like The Last Airbender. That said, I'm not sure I like The Phantom Menace enough to want to pay 3-D ticket prices to see it in theaters. Maybe when they get around to Revenge of the Sith...

^ my sentiments exactly. George Lucas knows technology, so I'm gonna say it'll probably be of pretty high quality. Now, I probably wont see some of them, but meh. I didn't get to see all the Star Wars in theatres in the first place, so the original three, and probably the Revenge of the Sith (I saw this one...it was just epic.) I'll see even just for the theatre effect. They can have my money for all I care D< not like one ticket is going to do much to help/hurt Lucas' billfold.
Anyway, I think Sparra covered most of what I was feeling about the whole thing :3

I had heard a while back that putting them in 3D was already in the works. But it might have been rumor.
Anyway... I'm sort of on the fence with this one.
I mean, I have seen 3D movies that have been both made in 3D on purpose, and then others that were originally 2D and then later released as 3D. And my opinion is that it's kind of worthless to take a movie that was in 2D and years later turn it into 3D. There's just not much of that '3D wow/shock factor' to it. There's a big difference between the two kinds of 3D movies.
But on the other hand, it's Star Wars, and I have a hard time saying no to anything SW-related. ;p
