Name: Lucias (Tenkai)
Age: 20
Race: Human
Birth place: Chinine (see info here)
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 125lbs
Eye Color: Glazed over white (were light blue)
Hair Color: Gray
Appearance: Lucias is a young man of unimpressive and unremarkable stature. He has very pale skin and usually wears simple, tattered robes, giving him the appearance of a vagrant to those from more civilized star systems. Lucias' most defining feature would be the burns on his face around his eyes, scars from the Force Lightning which blinded him. Also as a result of this injury both of Lucias' eyes are dead, glazed over white. Often he wears a blindfold over his face to cover these scars. Lucias' hair had gone completely gray by the time he was 16 years old, before which it had been a dark blond color. It is a rare condition, but one that does occur in Humans.
Personality: Lucias is usually a very quiet, but curious boy. It would not be a stretch to call Lucias a loner, cruelty levied upon him in his life has left him introverted and socially detatched. In addition to that, Lucias' past has also instilled in him a somewhat sadistic mischievousness.
A life time living in the wilderness of Chinine has also caused Lucias to develop quite a few interesting mannerisms. Aside from his Masters, Anjuu and Raina, Lucias has had no human contact for the majority of his life and is very socially immature. Personal hygiene is all but a foreign concept to him, as is any of the typical manners or shame expected of an individual in civilized society. Lucias has no qualms living on the street and eating whatever scraps he can find. One of Lucias' favorite hobbies is climbing and perching himself up in high places. On Chinine, one would have to stay up off the ground while at rest in order to avoid predators, a habit which Lucias maintains today even on cityscape worlds such as Nar Shaddaa.

Bio:
((A good deal of exposition for this bio can be found by reading the history for the planet Chinine.))
Lost
The baby boy who would one day be known as Lucias was born to Coruscanti parents who had come to the uncharted planet of Chinine rather by accident. They were a wealthy couple who made their fortune mapping new hyperspace routes from the core worlds to newer Republic territories in the Outer Rim. Exploring uncharted space was a dangerous job, and those who were willing to take the risks were paid well for their exploits. Marcus and Eva were among the best at what they did.
Eva was with child during this particular expedition, but their schedule should have had them back in the core well before Eva would give birth. Their good fortune, however, was about to run out. While charting a route deep in unknown space, Marcus' hyperdrive malfunctioned. The couple was stranded, and worst of all, they had no way of communicating exactly where they were. Their emergency supplies would run out in a few days, and they would soon need to find food and water of their own.
The star system they happened to be stranded in had many planets, but only one that seemed to have a habitable atmosphere. Their were no civilizations, but Marcus determined it was their best chance of surviving long enough for rescue, and set the ship down on Chinine.
Eva remained on board the ship while Marcus ventured out to explore the planet. It was a harsh and unforgiving environment. The entire day side of the planet was covered in a thick fog. Most of the terrain was untamed forests and mountains. The overcast skies and fog of the day made navigation difficult, and Marcus found he could not venture far from the ship for fear of not being able to find his way back again. Though the days were harsh, the nights were far worse. At least during the day the temperatures were bearable. At night the temperature would fall well below freezing and the moisture in the air would fall as snow and ice. The skies would clear and the light of the planet's large moon would cast an eerie glow over the landscape. The cold might not have held Marcus back, but the night also brought with it predators which hunted in the moonlight.
Marcus had been largely unsuccessful in finding food or a good source of water, and the couple's strength was waning. When Eva began to give birth, the outcome seemed inevitable. Eva had no food and very little water for near a week, and hadn't the strength to survive childbirth. She died, and Marcus was left with their son. That night Marcus decided to take a chance at finding food at night, and left the newborn on the ship. Marcus would never return.
Found (Age 0 - 5)
The newborn baby boy would surely have died alone on a strange planet... but in fact he was not alone. Chinine had no civilizations, the closest thing to it were the ruins of the old Kumori village. It would be a strange place for someone to choose to live, especially an old recluse, and former Jedi.
Anjuu had awakened that morning with every expectation that the day would be like any other on Chinine. His hut was built from stones retrieved from the stream at the bottom of the hill upon which the Kumori runs sat. The stones were placed over the foundations of a home that had stood there once many, many years ago. That morning Anjuu headed down to the stream to fetch some water when he came upon the frozen body of Marcus, collapsed on the hillside. The body was dressed in fine linens, and wore a blaster pistol on his hip. The old man was curious as to where this man had come from, and followed his trail through the morning fog. The trail led back to a ship.
Anjuu could sense there was something still alive on board, and so he entered the ship and found the newborn. The Force was strong with the boy, this much Anjuu could tell, and what's more the child was malnourished and in need of a warm bed.
Anjuu himself was the last sort of person you'd imagine would care for a child. He was rustic and dirty, he had only one robe which he washed in the stream perhaps once a month. The fabric was worn with age and bore many holes. Anjuu also wore long, unkempt hair and a scraggly white beard. His face held deep creases, and was an earthy color, though that was more likely due to how dirty he was than to any sort of tan on a planet like Chinine.
The old man brought the child back to his hut, and their he would raise him. Anjuu named the boy Lucias, after one the former rulers of Chinine. It was a part of the planet's history, a history Anjuu had been studying for nearly forty years. The history of the Kumori.
The Legend of Tenkai (Age 5 - 12)
Much of the history of Chinine had been lost, along with the planet's former inhabitants. When Anjuu first arrived on Chinine, the Kumori civilization was much as it is today; ruins. What had happened to the Kumori remains a mystery, though a good deal of their knowledge survived in the form of hieroglyphs and writings on old parchment (a truly archaic form of recording knowledge for this galaxy).
After finding the village's ruins Anjuu had become obsessed with the Kumori, so much so in fact as to become estranged from the Jedi Order so that he may devote his life to their study. According to Anjuu's findings, humans first arrived on Chinine some tens of thousands of years ago, most of which having been slaves. Among these was a man notorious for his exploits in battle against the slavers. A man known simply as Tenkai. Tenkai was a Force sensitive and those who followed him attributed his powers as a form of divine providence. Considering Tenkai a living god, his disciples followed him to Chinine where they founded the Kumori Village.
For generations afterwords the leader of the Kumori would take on the title "Tenkai" as a symbol of their relation to the divine. These rulers were always Force sensitives chosen from among the masses for their prowess in combat and unique powers. Kumori society was one of greed, war and bloodshed. Shortly following the death of the original Tenkai the tribes split and would exist in a state of civil war for thousands of years. Though their society was primitive the Kumori were fierce and brutal warlords who believed strongly in the providence formed through combat. Their rituals for using the Force and for training their youth to become "Kumori" might have seemed brutal to the Jedi, and bordering on the dark side.
Anjuu believed that there was a deeper truth to be discovered in using the Force as the Kumori had. However, he himself had spent the majority of his life as a Jedi. A true Kumori was trained from birth. It was an opportunity he now had with Lucias.
Anjuu raised the boy as best he understood that the Kumori had raised their children, teaching Lucias of the history of Chinine and training him in the art of war. They were lessons far removed from those Anjuu had been given as a Youngling. If the Jedi Council were aware that Anjuu was still alive and teaching young Force sensitives such things they likely would have deemed him a Dark Jedi at best. Anjuu would have argued that he was a Gray Jedi, as he never would advocate the use of emotion such as fear and anger in combat. Emotions were to be controlled, if not killed in order to maintain focus in battle.
Lucias was an attentive student, if not slightly introverted. As a young child growing up in harsh wilderness, Lucias often found himself very lonely. He longed for someone his age to play with, but such things were only fantasies on Chinine, "To be Kumori, is to be one," Anjuu would say. It was a mantra of sorts, the first line of their code. Supposedly the Kumori were completely self sufficient and lived lives in isolation from others in order to grow their own strength without depending too heavily on others. It explained why they choose such a planet for their homes.
By the time Lucias was twelve he was already being instructed in the basic use of the Force, mainly to aid in his hand to hand combat training and technique with a bo staff. The staff was chosen simply because there were no other weapons available on Chinine aside from the sturdy branches of Isochro trees. Using these simple sticks Lucias was trained in bojutsu.
A Chance Encounter (Age 13)
After his thirteenth birthday, Lucias was considered grown. It was at this age that most Kumori would retreat to train by themselves and prepare for their trials. The Kumori Trials were difficult and had a low survival rate. There was no time limit for how long a youth might train before taking their trials, and indeed it was said many never gained the courage to undertake them. Lucias himself had mixed feelings about it. The trials were what he had been training his entire life for, but still, he felt empty inside. A deep melancholy saturated Lucias, and he felt no compulsion to train.
Lucias had been taught that emotion would erode his abilities as a warrior, and indeed they had. His depression may have only grown deeper had it not been for the day he met Raina. Lucias' exploration of the planet around the Kumori Village had led him one afternoon to area that seemed out of place from the rest of the forests. It was a low valley in which the trees were dead, even during the day. The branches of these trees were twisted and contorted into all sorts of unnatural states, and strange vines covered the ground, all emanating from the same source. Lucias could feel it; it was a strange, cold feeling, as if the life had been sucked from him and his blood stopped in his veins. Lucias' curiosity caused him to follow this feeling and the vines deeper until he came to ziggurat structure almost completely hidden by the vines.
The Force was disturbed here, and it had seemed that he was not the only one attracted by the old temple's dark side presence. As Lucias approached the temple's entrance he was stopped by a blue lightsaber blade which ignited in his path. The young woman whom the lightsaber belonged to, Lucias had not felt at all. Was she somehow able to hide her presence in the Force? The question didn't bother Lucias long as he was more surprised to see another human being than anything else. The girl was beautiful, with long dark hair and deep blue eyes. She had pale, smooth skin and full lips, and she wore dark colored robes customary of a Jedi. Her name was Raina, she was a few years older than Lucias. She had sensed the Force strongly in Lucias and thought he was a Jedi, though upon closer inspection he wore nothing but tattered robes and was armed only with a wooden stick. He was harmless.
According to Raina, she had come to Chinine to hide from the Jedi, as they had cast her out. She was living in the old Kumori temple when she sensed Lucias coming and thought he was a Jedi sent to find her. Lucias wasn't too terribly familiar with the ways of the Jedi, only the few details Anjuu had taught him. Due to this there seemed to be nothing suspicious about Raina's story. What's more, Lucias was entirely new to the idea of friendly company, and encountering Raina had brought to the surface an entire cacophony of "feelings" he had no center for. Raina could sense this from the start. Lucias was certainly unusual, and she was unsure of what to do with him at first. It wasn't until he mentioned his training as a Kumori, and the lessons he'd learned from Anjuu's archives that Raina saw a use for him...
A Descent into "Friendship" (Age 13 -16)
Lucias was all too pleased to have at last made a friend, and Raina was all too willing to play the roll. The Force was strong with Lucias, and Raina could see him becoming a useful asset. She offered to help with his training for the trials, and Lucias was eager to accept.
The two of them lived in the Temple which had once served as a place of sacrifice for an ancient Kumori King. The dark side was strong within the Temple, but Lucias did not recognize this as a threat. He was naive and trusted Raina when she told him the Force in a place such as their Temple would give him power. Lucias could not deny Raina's claims, and in following her training he found he could use the Force in some new and interesting ways.
Most startling among the new powers Lucias was taught was the ability to project Force energy from his hands, like arcs of lightning. Raina demonstrated her own talent to do this and Lucias attempted to recreate it. His abilities were limited, Lucias was only able to conjure short bursts of lightning, often in single bolts. Raina told him he would need to feed off his emotions in order to increase his power, something he'd been taught not to do by Anjuu.
Raina also instructed Lucias in the basic use of a lightsaber, teaching him the attacks and parries associated with Shii-Cho. Lucias had no means of constructing his own lightsaber on Chinine, so Raina allowed him to use hers for his training. Lucias had never been off world, but Raina certainly understood the necessity in Lucias being able to use a weapon other than a simple stick.
Lucias never suspected any ill will from Raina, and did as she instructed. With time she was able to refine Lucias' Force abilities, even teaching him to use the Force to aid his movements when using a lightsaber and his bo staff, bettering his speed and strength slightly beyond what he was able to achieve naturally.
After a few years had passed, Lucias' hair had begun to gray. Whether this occurred naturally, or was caused by prolonged exposure to the dark taint of the Temple, Raina was unsure. Her apprentice had become fairly strong, and at this point Raina deemed she had spent enough time on this rock. She had gained almost everything she could from the Temple and from Chinine.
Betrayal (Age 17)
When Lucias turned seventeen, Raina convinced him that he was ready for his trials. Lucias knew that to pass the trials he would have to be alone, and he had no idea how long it would take him. He conceded that it may be a long time before he saw Raina again. After saying his farewells, Lucias returned to Anjuu and the Village. He dared not tell the old man anything of his training with Raina, as he would almost certainly see their relationship as a weakness and perhaps would consider him unfit to become Kumori.
Anjuu could feel that something was... darker about Lucias, but it was nothing he thought terribly out of the ordinary. Dismissing the thought, Anjuu told Lucias what he would have to do. First he would have to find a Lilith blossom and take the plant with him into the caverns of Mount Kurokari. The mountain was a long dormant volcano that rose up over the old village. Supposedly it was a Force nexus of considerable power. Once inside Lucias would have to burn the Lilith blossom.
Lucias was confused, "Is that all, Master?"
"What comes next, is up to you."
Lucias had no idea what to expect within the caves, but he felt he was ready, no matter what awaited him. Lucias climbed up the side of the mountain to the altitude at which the purple Lilith flowers would grow. Upon plucking a single bloom, Lucias carried it into the caverns which led deep into the mountain. The Force was definitely strong here, strong enough to attract the attention of creatures other than Lucias.
The Displacers, feline like predators that hunt on Chinine at night would spend their days within the caves of Mt. Kurokari. Lucias' clumsy entrance stirred up a sleeping pack of the beasts which immediately charged their prey. Lucias used his staff to keep the Displacers at bay, utilizing his weapons long reach to maintain a safe distance. Killing the beasts with the staff however would prove more difficult, though Lucias thought this a perfect opportunity to make use of what Raina had taught him. Summoning up the power of his emotions, Lucias managed to zap one of the Displacers with Lightning, another he used to the Force to grip and crush its neck.
The final beast leaped at Lucias, who blocked its jaws with his staff held horizontally in front of him. As the creature bit down on the staff and locked its jaws, Lucias twisted the staff with jarring force, wrenching the Displacer's neck and snapping it. With a yelp the predator was silenced and fell limp on the cave floor.
Following his encounter with the Displacers, Lucias found a large chamber within the cave in which he could perform the ritual Anjuu had instructed him to. Gathering wood from the outside, Lucias built a fire which cast a strange red glow through the cavern. Shadows danced on the cave walls as Lucias tossed the Lilith flower he'd plucked into the fire. At first, nothing happened, but slowly the smoke from the flower filled the cavern.
As Lucias sat in front of the fire, time seemed to slow. The shadows dancing on the walls seemed to take on tangible shapes, as if they were being cast by people. Then, Lucias felt a breath of cold air on the back of his neck. He turned quickly to see the Kumori village behind him. A fresh snow had fallen and covered the ground in a thin sheet of white. As Lucias stepped forward he could feel the cold of the snow on the heels of his feet, and hear the crunch as he brought his weight down. In front of him now, Lucias could see a pair of bodies laying among the ruins. They too were covered by the falling snow. Through an unsettling silence, Lucias approached the corpses and knelt down beside them, brushing the snow from their faces. They were Anjuu and Raina. Their flesh blue and their eyes staring lifelessly up at the sky.
Startled, Lucias scrambled to his feet and backpedaled, only to bump into someone behind him. Raising his staff, Lucias spun around to strike the person behind him. With a smack the man's hand shot out from his robe and caught the staff before it could hit him. The man behind Lucias was slightly taller with long gray hair that partially covered his face. He wore black robes which wrapped around his body like a cloak, and a blindfold over his eyes.
Unable to wrench his staff free from the older man's grip, Lucias released his weapon and fell back on his butt before shuffling back and away, "Who are you!?" he demanded. His shout eliciting no visible reaction from the man.
"My name is Tenkai," he replied finally, dropping Lucias' staff.
Lucias raised a skeptical eyebrow, "THE Tenkai? I doubt that..."
The man chuckled, "I'm A Tenkai. That should suffice for you."
Slowly Lucias stood back up, careful not to take his eyes off the stranger in front of him. The man didn't seem to pose any immediate threat, that is, Lucias did not sense any intent to harm from him. Then again, Lucias could not sense him at all, "Who are you? What's happened here?"
"I killed them, of course," Tenkai answered.
The candor of his response startled Lucias who found his anger quickly building, "Why? Answer me!"
"Mm, why indeed," Tenkai retorted casually.
The blind man's blase attitude was only making Lucias angrier, "Cut the cryptic act and give me some answers, or should I line your body up next to theirs?"
Tenkai chuckled again, "Hm... so much anger," he observed, "the future is never set. There are many paths with which our fate might unfold, though after meeting you, I see now the validity behind this one."
"What are you talking about?"
"A Kumori is one; alone," Tenkai answered, "Remember that, Lucias. Remember that when you consider those you thought close to you." Following his unsettling words, Tenkai turned to leave. Lucias moved to pursue him, but with a wave of his hand Lucias became dizzy and passed out onto the ground.
When at last Lucias awoke, the only light in the cave came from the faintly glowing coals of what had once been his fire. What had happened? Was it all just a dream? What had Tenkai's warning meant? Lucias' trials had raised more questions than answers, but perhaps Anjuu would be able to shine some light on what he'd saw.
As Lucias climbed down from the mountain and headed back toward the village, he could sense that something was out of place. Night would be falling soon, and with it would come the cold. Lucias quickened his pace. By the time he returned to the village, a light snow had started to fall and dusted the ground in white. Lucias could hear a strange sound in the distance, like someone was slamming a door. As he approached Anjuu's hut, Lucias discovered the door was left open and was swinging in the wind. With growing fear Lucias hurried into his master's home only to find the old man's body sprawled out on the floor in a pool of blood. His lightsaber was by his hand and much of the furniture and walls had been scored and sliced.
"Ah... Lucias. It's about time."
The sound of a familiar voice behind him drew Lucias' attention. Raina was standing behind him, a knowing smirk forming from her full, red lips.
"You... did this?" Lucias stammered.
Raina loosed a long, loud cackle which was absorbed into the void of silence all around them, "Oh, poor baby," she taunted in a faux pitying tone, "why so hurt?"
Lucias could only shake his head, "But... you're my friend. Why would you do this?"
Raina pouted, obviously teasing the boy, "I'm sorry, honey, but I don't have time for friends. The old man had something I needed. He was unwilling to give it up quietly. Now that I have what he knew, you and I are leaving this rock."
"No..." Lucias answered in a low rasp.
Raina's eyebrow raised, sensing the defiance in Lucias' voice and the hatred rapidly growing inside him, "You don't have a say in the matter. You can come with me as you are... or with a pair of broken legs. It's all the same to me."
Lucias glanced back at the ruin of the old man who had been like a grandfather to him his whole life. Extending his hand, Lucias summoned Anjuu's lightsaber to him and ignited the silver blade. Raina had taught him to fight with it some, but it was likely he wasn't nearly a match for his former teacher. That didn't matter right now. All that mattered to Lucias in this moment was the pain of betrayal, and venting the anger that was welling inside him as a result.
Raina scowled, igniting and raising her own lightsaber, "Good. Hate me. It will serve you well in time." she snapped, an icy callousness in her voice.
Lucias could hold back no longer. In a rage he charged forward, slamming his lightsaber down on Raina, and following it with a series of savage blows. Lucias was physically stronger than Raina, but her technique was able to compensate for this, deflecting the majority of the power behind his blows to the side. When Lucias' initial onslaught gave way to fatigue, Raina spotted an opening and seized it. Locking her blade with his, Raina spun her saber and twisted Lucias' from his grip. Now unarmed, Lucias attempted to lurch in close and simply overpower Raina. She responded by raising her hand to Lucias' face, and digging her finger tips into his eye sockets. Then, channeling the dark side through her limb, Raina loosed a terrible blast of Force Lightning from point blank range, right into Lucias' eyes.
In an instant, Lucias perceived a blinding flash, and then, darkness. The ferocity of the attack seared Lucias' flesh and scorched his eyes. The pain was so intense that Lucias passed out almost immediately after the assault. The world had become nothing but blackness and pain, and though he was blinded now, a new kind of sight came to Lucias. It was unclear at first, but as his senses adjusted and his emotions calmed he found he could perceive the world through the Force.
Raina had carried Lucias' lifeless body back to her ship and had just set him down in the cargo hold when he began to come to. Lucias' "eyes" now were able to perceive the entirety of his surroundings, no longer what was just in front of him. This perception was very different from regular sight however, and being new to it, Lucias was unsure quite what to make of what he was sensing.
With his head was still down, Lucias could "see"... or perhaps "feel" Raina who was still in the cargo hold with him. Her presence was like a like a beacon shining through a thick fog. Though more than that, Lucias could "see" her movements before she actually made them. It was an ability all Force sensitives had, but one that had become more tangible now with his Force Sight.
As Raina leaned over to take his lightsaber from him, Lucias grabbed it and spun around. Raina was going to jump back in response. Anticipating this, Lucias ignited his lightsaber and threw it to where Raina would be. The blade impaled her through the heart while she was still in the air. She was dead by the time her body crumpled back to the ground.
The Last Kumori (Age 17)
After killing Raina, Lucias found himself struggling to cope with his blindness and his new Force Sight. He could feel the Force and sense its energy as it came into contact with objects around him. By altering and directing the Force he could use it to feel his way around. It was a very slow process at first. The Force flowed through all things that lived, and Chinine was choked with life. The planet which had seemed so isolated and sterile to him before now seemed to burn with life energy that surrounded and suffocated Lucias' new found senses. There was also something else here, something that dimmed the fires of life around him, an emptiness. The emotions Lucias felt from the planet was doing something frightening to the Force. Whatever it was, Lucias understood it to mean that he couldn't stay here.
Lucias was no pilot, and it took some doing to figure out how to get Raina's star ship working. When finally he managed to commandeer her ship, Lucias had little choice but to go where the ship's autopilot would take him. He traveled to the systems programmed into her navicomputer, no particular destination or purpose in mind. He traveled to worlds which teamed with sentient life, which was a considerable culture shock at first. These new worlds afforded Lucias some opportunity to get used to his Force Sight, and to test some of the advantages and disadvantages of the ability.
The cryptic warning Lucias had received from his vision in the cave on Chinine had been validated by Raina, and had left Lucias deeply distrustful of others. As such he kept to himself, exuding a cold and uncaring demeanor. Most who passed him considered him nothing more than a vagrant due to his poor clothing and obvious blindness. The grotesque spectacle that was Lucias' dead eyes and burnt flesh proved quite off putting to others as well. Lucias started wearing a blindfold so as to not draw too much attention to himself. However, it was hard for a man with talents such as Lucias' not to attract attention, especially on worlds like Nar Shaddaa.
Lucias' path had led him to the smuggler's moon where the sight of his lightsabers drew some less than savory attention to him. The bounty on Jedi was high, and as far as most of the bounty hunters knew, there was no stipulation stating the Jedi needed to have eyes.
While on Nar Shaddaa, Lucias found his way into a cantina, only to be asked to leave due to his poor appearance. The Redros bouncers knew who to let in and who to turn aside, and a blind kid wearing rags did not scream "big spender". The bouncer's asked him to leave, and Lucias refused. The situation quickly escalated to where one of the bouncers drew a blaster pistol and jammed the muzzle between Lucias' shoulder blades to make sure the blind man knew what he was dealing with.... and to make sure the blast would make as little noise as possible.
Sensing that the Redros was about to squeeze the trigger, Lucias immediately hit the deck, and the bouncer's blaster bolt was fired right into the chest of his partner. From the ground, Lucias swept the bouncer's feet out from under him. The Redros fell back and lost his grip on his blaster. Lucias then sprung up to his feet, catching the blaster on its way down and turning it on the bouncer, firing a single shot into his chest. After a short pause, Lucias could feel the stares of the others in the cantina on him, and decided he had overstayed his welcome. He dropped the pistol and hurried out of the cantina.
Lucias' exploits had caught the attention of an Exchange Boss, a wealthy man named William Hoenn. To Hoenn, this Jedi might be worth more than a simple bounty. He ordered Lucias be brought to him alive and unharmed. After a few weeks, and a few bounty hunters, Lucias was finally detained and brought before the Exchange Boss.
"What is this about?" Lucias asked.
Hoenn examined the young man before him. He certainly was like no Jedi he'd ever seen, "You are an... unusual Jedi specimen," Hoenn commented.
"I'm no Jedi." Lucias answered.
"Then what are you?"
"I'm... something else."
Lucias' words seemed to amuse Hoenn. Indeed, he didn't care if Lucias was a Jedi, Dark Jedi, or what have you. His talents were obvious, and that was what mattered, "What is your name, boy?"
Lucias hesitated. He had not thought of his own name since he left Chinine. A piece of him had died there with Raina and Anjuu, the part of him that went by the name Lucias. So then who was he now? He was a Kumori... the last Kumori, "My name is Tenkai."
Reborn (Age 18 - 19)
Assuming the title of "Tenkai" Lucias was reborn on Nar Shaddaa as a cold and ruthless Mercenary. With the Exchange, Tenkai would work as a bounty hunter, assassin, personal guard, whatever he was needed for. If nothing else it gave his life some direction... and it gave him some decent clothes. The exchange provided him with new robes, black of course. Tenkai kept his original blindfold.
To accommodate his new career, Tenkai also upgraded his weapons. He reconstructed the lightsabers he'd taken from Raina and Anjuu, combining them at their bases to form a double hilt lightsaber which he could use in a similar fashion to his bo. However, being a lightsaber, it would require much more training before he could wield it as confidently as he could his staff.
His other weapon, the bo staff itself, was remade as well. A wooden stick simply would not due outside of Chinine. The Exchange was kind enough to provide him a new staff, one made of lightweight durasteel combined with a small trace of cortosis. The very small amount of the lightsaber resistant alloy meant that Tenkai's staff could take a hit from a lightsaber blade, though if pressed against it, the blade would still melt through.
Today, still using the alias Tenkai, Lucias works as a Merc primarily for the Exchange, though he is certainly willing to take any contract if the price is right.
RP Sample:
A cold wind whipped through the Refugee Sector on Nar Shaddaa as Lucias huddled down in the shadows between a pair of heavy durasteel crates. There was a time once when Lucias could walk through the high-rise docks of Nar Shaddaa with no one regarding him as anything more than a homeless begger; a time when he still was Lucias. That was years ago. Today he was more commonly known as "Tenkai", a mercenary for hire. Tenkai's new found fame, or perhaps infamy, had made it increasingly difficult for him to stalk his targets. Tenkai was certainly not the kind of man who blended in with a crowd. It was probably the blindfold and seven foot long bo staff that did it...
This particular evening Tenkai's bounty was a Duros who had fallen behind on his gambling debts, a typical assignment. The Pazaak Den drew in spacers from all across the galaxy whose naive perception of their own luck was greatly disproportionate to the contents of their wallets. These spacers were small time, but the pay was good.
This particular target was said to have been asking around the Refugee sector for passage off world. A big no-no by Exchange standards. After the Duros had accumulated enough debt, his ship was impounded by the Exchange and he was unofficially black listed. Unofficially because you'd never hear about such a thing on the holonet, but everyone on Nar Shaddaa knew the rules. They knew because if they didn't, it was their ass.
Tenkai encountered the Duros as he met with his contact. Though he was hidden in the dark behind durasteel crates and out of site, Tenkai could clearly "see" his targets through his Force Sight. As the two moved, Tenkai shadowed their movements from the alley, finally getting ahead of them and stepping out from behind the crates into their path.
Upon spotting the blindfolded "Jedi", the Duros and his Twi'lek pilot froze.
"Nice night for a stroll..." Tenkai commented, the monotone nature of his voice only making his targets more nervous.
"Tenkai... we were just on our way to your boss..." The Duros lied.
"To pay him back!" The Twi'lek added, finished the Duros' sentence.
"Mm, is that so?" Tenkai answered, absentmindedly twirling his staff around fingers, his head wandering a bit, not fixing on any particular location, "Well lucky for you, the nature of your debt with the Exchange has changed. Your money is no longer any good here. I've been hired to square the debt for you."
"R-really?" The Duros asked, choking back his optimism.
"Really really. 'Cause right now, all my boss wants is a pair of corpses." As Tenkai finished his sentence the Twi'lek pilot immediately began to choke. The sound of his neck being crushed thoroughly frightened the Duros who took off into the alleys. Tenkai had yet to flinch, he waited until the Twi'lek crumpled over dead before he began to walk after his prey. He did so enjoy the chase.
As the Duros weaved his way through the crates in the Refugee Sector, Tenkai monitored him through the Force, calmly walking where he and the Duros would eventually meet. Sure enough, the panicked spacer rounded the corner only to bump into Tenkai. His bumbling pleas to beg for his life fell on deaf ears as Tenkai ignited the blue blade of his lightsaber and used it to rake the Duros across the chest. With a muted scream he fell, lifeless onto the duracreet. Another day, another low life, another credit.
