Bio:
"Fallen, Broken.
Simply dissolved, Into an incomplete thought.
An empty shell cracked and disfigured.
With no remorse, I have been blinded by the darkness.
With no distain, I have received my punishment.
And with no haste, I await them".
-Birth-
Grawn Ianie had been born on the Outer Rim world of Tatooine. The desert world made life on it harsh because of the extreme heat and dangerous wildlife. He was raised outside the protection of the major settlements, living with his father, a former Jedi knight, Erfies Ianie in a small cottage (think Lars Homestead) a few miles away. Erfies had forsaken the Jedi teachings to be able to pursue a marriage with Grawn's mother, Mariel , who he had met during a mission to the planet of Dxun. They were instantly smitten with one another and met in secret over the course of two years. Finally,no longer being able to bare staying away from her, Erfies gave the Council his lightsaber and left the Jedi Order on good terms to live peacefully with his beloved.
The day Grawn had been born was a rather joyous occasion. Erfies could sense the potential the newborn had and was able to convince his wife to let him train the young boy. If the Jedi came for them, he would willingly give them Grawn, knowing a future he could have and if they didn't, he would teach him himself. While Mariel didn't care for the idea, she agreed. For the first three years of his life, Grawn was lovingly cared for by the two lovers, Erfies usually the one to make trips to the local market for supplies while Mariel would watch the budding baby boy. By the time he could walk, which was earlier then what was normal for a baby by a few months, he could nearly figure out how to open doors from just watching his parents do so by getting a stool. Erfies had to install locks to make sure the troublesome child couldn't get himself killed out in the desert.
-Death of the Mother-
Grawn was 3 when his mother was taken. Unfortuantely for the family, it wasn't pleasant. The home which they stayed was close to the terrority of a group of Tuskens who didn't care for outsiders hunting their bantha for food, for when money was hard to come by, Erfies would often hunt for meat and whatever sparse vegetation could be found. This led to an attack by the Tusken Raiders which would claim Mariel. One night, as Grawn slept and Erfies along with Mariel sat in the living room of the humble home, a noise pierced the silence outside. A concern look came to Mariel's face, but Erfies calmed her as he went to investigate. Stepping outside, he looked into the black, cold night and saw nothing. Then a scream came from inside the house.
Spinning around, the exiled Knight was quick enough to use the Force to slam the Tusken Raider that had entered the house into the wall. Pulling Mariel to him, he drew his spare lightsaber that he had made without the Councils knowledge and pierced the creatures heart. More came from the kitchen as Erfies told his wife to stay put as he rushed to meet the robed humanoids. His blue lightsaber seared flesh and cloth with ease, breaking gaffi batons and rifles even easier as slowly he pushed the Tuskens assault out the back door. Seeing the Tuskens retreat into the night made the old Knight sigh with relief, however the Force whispered of something else. Running back into his home, he heard the muffled screams of his wife as he entered the living room to see Tuskens rushing out the door.
Erfies ran in pursuit and saw a few Tuskens with a bantha trying to get away with the love of his life. Drawing on the Force, Erfies ran with incredible speed and as he drew close, threw his lightsaber. The blue blade slammed into the banthas head and made it fall forward, the Tuskens and Mariel flying forward. The Tuskens barely had time to get up before the Knight jumped into the air and landed on them, cutting and slashing them to oblivion. When the dust settled, Erfies and Mariel embraced each other in a tight hug, tears streaming from the womans face as her husband tried to comfort her. The two began to walk back towards the home when the unthinkable happened.
The sound of a Tusken rifle firing filled the air and Erfies eyes went wide as he turned to see his wife fall. Time slowed as her body hit the sand softly and Erfies's eyes went to the shooter. A Tusken on bantha-back sat on a small dune not to far away, the rifle being shook in the air as it screeched in victory. The exiled Knight's body quivered as his anger boiled and his eyes narrowed.
Without thought, the Force came to him and he was running full bore at the Tusken Sniper. The robed humanoid attempted to fire off a few shots as it kicked its bantha into moving, but Erfies deadly lightsaber deflected the bolts as he quickly closed the distance. Leaping from the sand, he Force pushed the Tusken off its mount and sent it into the air. The bantha ran away as the Tusken neared the ground, but Erfies was there to catch it by the throat.
With a roar, he slammed the Tusken to the ground. Erfies would be there would what seemed eternity as he continued to lift and slam the Tusken's body to the ground even after the life was choked from it from the death grip the man had on its neck. From the house, little Grawn watched without a word. Several minutes passed before the Knight regained himself and returned to the home, holding Mariel's body in his arms.
-Training-
The next day, her body was burned in a pyre outside the home. Grawn was silent throughout the whole ordeal, to young to understand what had happened. Erfies, grief stricken not only by Mariels loss but his embrace with the dark side, was silent as well. For the next two years, Erfies would take care of Grawn alone, only leaving the house to gather what was needed. The child's potential for the Force grew with each passing year and as he became five years old, Erfies, who had long ago put Mariel and the tragic night behind him, decided it was time. He would teach his son to uphold the Jedi and their ways, regardless if they approved or not.
Beginning with Form I lightsaber combat, Shii-Co, Grawn was given a training lightsaber that Erfies had also smuggled away prior to his leaving. As he taught his son the basics of Shii-Co, Erfies also taught him the ways of the Force and the Jedi Code.
There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no death, there is the Force.
Each day, Erfies would take Grawn out to the sand dunes to practice meditation and to recite the code. It took only a week for the boy to memorize it and his father was proud as Grawn's progression slowly, but surely grew with each passing week. Sometimes, Erfies would take Grawn to the cantina in the nearest settlement and ask him the various emotions he felt there.
By age 6, Erfies was stunned to find that Grawn could actually pick up a word or two from their minds, often times it being a bad word and the old Knight needing to make clear not such a word was to be spoken. The two bonded as the training progressed, Grawn was finally being able to utilize Shii-Co in a half way decent manner and his growing abilities in the Force brought a equalibrium to the child. Erfies found that while Grawn showed skill in both lightsaber and Force, he didn't quite have a strength in either.
Days turned to weeks and weeks into months as father and son trained, Erfies growing ever proud of his child. He knew Mariel would be proud at the handsome young man their boy was becoming and Grawn loved his father dearly, regardless if he made him do chores and train on a daily basis. However, only weeks after Grawn turned eight, things took a turn for the worse. Much worse.
-Dark Reunion-
The Dark side found its way to the humble home in the way of two visitors. A knock came to the door as Erfies meditated with Grawn in the living. The father and son both blinked at each other in confusion. Who would travel out this far? Erfies stood up and approached the door, opening it to reveal two cloaked men. All was silent as the exiled Jedi was about to ask what they wanted, when one of the men drew back their hood and said.
"Greetings, brother"
Before Erfies could react, the man launched a tremendous Force Push that threw him against the wall across the room, cracking it. Grawn was up immediately, staring at his father as he knelt on the ground and screamed, but he was cut short when the other man unleashed a torrent on Force Lightning on the small boy, throwing him against the wall and knocking him unconscious. Erfies saw this and bellowed with rage, his lightsaber flying to his hand and igniting to meet the two men.
The cloaked figures drew lightsabers of their own and the three combatants started a deadly dance. Erfies was a successful Makashi duelist and was able to handle his own against several lightsaber wielding foes at once. The battle raged, the men coming in with two different forms, switching with each other as they pressed on Erfies who only waited for his chance to strike. He parried and dodged until finally the hooded man swung to hard and struck the floor, giving Erfies time to stab at the man's chest.
The saber cut clean and the man fell without a sound, the red lightsaber deactivating. Little time was spared as the man who had force pushed him came at him. The two fought their way back to the living room and just as Erfies saw an opening, the man gripped him in the Force and slammed him into the ceiling, then the floor and then to the wall. His lightsaber leaving his grip, the exiled Jedi was powerless as the Dark Jedi unleashed a torrent of Force Lightning on him. Seconds seemed like eternity as lightning wracked his body then Erfies went limp, but held a tiny spark of life.
The man revealed himself to be Ibapo Ianie, brother to Erfies and Grawn's uncle. Ibapo had been discovered missing when he was sent by the Jedi Council to the planet of Korriban to investigate possible Dark Jedi gatherings. He wasn't heard from afterward and the circumstances of his vanishing were never discovered. It was clear now that the Dark side claimed him that fateful mission. He explained to his brother that he had heard of his departure of the Jedi Order and had spent years discovering his location. He had felt a powerful being within the house and had originally thought it was him, only to discover the boy was the source. The boy, he explained, would be an excellent addition to the Dark Jedi ranks.
Erfies was left to die as Ibapo whisked Grawn away to Korriban, a planet reknown for the Dark side.
-Dark Fall-
Grawn awoke in a dark cell, stone all around him with only a barred door. Wearing rags and hunger in his stomach, the boy got up and saw the dark man from his nightmare standing on the other side of the door. The man greeted Grawn with a wicked smile and informed him that he was his uncle, Ibapo, and that he killed his father. The boy was shaken as Ibapo continued, telling him he would no longer learn of the Light, but the Dark side of the Force. Grawn's eyes went wide as memories of his father telling him the evil of the dark side came to him and he defiantly told the dark man off, refusing to listen to him.
However Ibapo wasn't a gentle man, releasing a torrent of Force Lightning on the boy. Falling to the ground, his muscles and body jerking and spasming, Grawn could only listen as Ibapo told him he had no choice. He would learn or die. From that point began the cracking of the child into a twisted shadow of the dark side. If only Ibapo had been aware at that time how much success he would achieve in that goal. And how it would be his undoing.
-Breaking The Light-
Pain was the first lesson in destroying the boy. Hunger, Torture, Beatings, all inflicted pain. Without food, the stomach was empty and left a void that agonized until it was sated. Torture brought fear of pain and fear in general. Ibapo knew he had to break the boy before he could begin rebuilding him and thus this is how the first days of Grawn's training began. The child laid on the stone ground of the deathly silent room with minimal light and no food. The hunger made seconds seem like minutes and minutes as hours and sure enough it began to take its toll on Grawn.
Before long, the boy would do anything to please Ibapo to achieve anything that would cleanse the agony from his stomach. Through this, Ibapo taught him of the ancient Sith Lords and the Sith in general with Grawn fully paying attention as to get what he desired the most. The next step was the ability to inflict torture instantly and this came in the form of a metal collar that Ibapo placed around Grawn's neck. It served as the Master's Force Lightning with a flip of the switch and over the years, the boy would feel the spasm of his muscles when he displeased.
As much as Grawn tried, the Light did little to make the pain numb or go away. The eight year old couldn't meditate on the fact the constant pain in his stomach from lack of food and thus his mind was never clear. When finally the last method, Beating, came into play, this is when the influence of the Light shattered. The child could only be quiet as the old man would assault him, insulting and chiding him. Calling him weak, telling him how he couldn't save his own father and was no use to anyone.
Hate grew like a dark flower in the boy's heart and by the end of the first week, the Light was a lie to him. A lie his father had tried to instill in him. The hatred was a ever growing vinemass that started to expand through the boy until that was all he knew. Hate for the Light, hate for the Jedi and ultimate hatred for his uncle. This would be the foundation of the black power the boy would manifest within himself.
-Learning the Code-
Ibapo had fallen to the Dark side when he found the Dark Jedi he was sent to scatter on Korriban. The cave/compound that Grawn and him were resident in had belonged to the group. After killing the men in anger, Ibapo began to study the scrolls and holobooks the Dark Jedi has stashed and with them began his own rise to dark power. This would be how he taught Grawn the art of the Dark side as well.
Forcing the boy to read books was how he gained knowledge. Just as his father had done, Ibapo taught Grawn the Sith Code and with the instruments he had to "help" the boys progress, was able to get him to memorize it in two days. For hours on end, Grawn would recite the lines,
Peace is a lie; there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.
And within a week understood each for what it meant. His progress was steady, as Ibapo wished, but even though the boy was good, the Dark Master would still beat him. While the trama to his body was ever apparent on his small frame, not even Ibapo could sense the cracks in the boys mind.
-Sampson-
Months passed and Grawn was a broken shadow of his former self. He knew by now nothing pleased his uncle and that all he could do was hold on to what little he had of his sanity. A sanity that was slipping as Grawn often would see things in the dark. Things that were never there. On days that Ibapo wouldn't retrieve him for training, leaving him in his dimly lit chamber, he would cower in the corner as abberations of darkness hissed and snarled at him from the dark corners. The ability to cry was forgotten to him so all he could do is watch them as they paced those corners.
This continued on for weeks until one particular night. Grawn watched with terror as the creatures began to leave their corners and advance on him, their long serptine tongues and jagged claws reaching for him. The boy screamed at the beings to leave him alone, his anger exploding. The result was a black shape that poured from his mouth and hovered in the air between the imaginary monsters and Grawn. The mass soon began to take form and within seconds was in the shape of a hound, two glowing red eyes coming to life as a maw of teeth came to be.
The hound roared and leapt into the creatures midst and began to tear them apart with teeth and claws that were the size of knifes. The boy only watched in awe as the creature destroyed the abberations and then turned to him. Normally, a child would fear it, but Grawn felt a connection with the hound and watched as it approached him. The claws disappeared and the giant maw shrunk until the hound looked rather docile. It sat down before the child and bowed its head down, Grawn knowing it wanted him to pet it.
With a small smile, Grawn placed his hand on the dog and pet its short black fur, knowing he now had a friend. The boy's eyes went wide when he heard the footsteps of his uncle and told the dog to hide, for he knew if Ibapo saw it, he would destroy him. The hound understood and licked his face before disappearing.
-Ways of the Red Blade-
Lightsaber combat was to follow with Grawns Force training. Ibapo finished training him in the ways of Shii-Co and taught him many of the other forms of lightsaber combat. The one Grawn favored from the get go, was Shien, also referred to by the Jedi as The Way of the Krayt Dragon along with its cousin, Djem So. Often times, Grawn would wield his lightsaber in a reversed grip when using Shien, which would drive his uncle nuts for lack of a better word because of how unorthodox it was.
Other forms he learned, was Ibapo's favored use of Dun Möch, which would involving taunting their opponents to disrupt flow of concentration. While many could withstand such a barrage while in combat, often times after prolonged periods, the effects could demoralize the foe. He would use this often against his nephew in duels. Along with that, Ibapo made sure to enstill every aspect of lightsaber combat into Grawn except the use of double-bladed lightsabers which he thought were barbaric and crude.
Training wasn't always on a schedule, as Ibapo forced Grawn to always be aware of his surroundings, often times commencing to attack his nephew at random moments of teaching and silence. It proved effective as eventually Grawn was able to learn to feel the flux in the Force when his uncle went into his combat mood. For the first several years, it was rare if Grawn could stand up to Ibapos assaults, because of the older mans strength and experience. This often resulted in extensive wounds and near death experiences.
-The Assassin's Path-
At the age of 12, Grawn was given two choices. To focus on lightsaber combat or to become balanced in both lightsaber and the Force. The youth thought hard and believe that be balanced rather then being powerful in one while being weak in another was foolish and thus, the Dark Master began to train him in the way of the Assassin. Stealth was key and be trained the boy in one of the most deadly way possible.
Ibapo would send him into a underground cavern nearby that was a series of maze like tunnels. The maze itself was guarded by several beasts known as Tuk'ata or Sith hounds, as Ibapo would tell Grawn. His goal was to navigate the maze using the Force to hide himself from the creatures and retrieve an object at the end. However, no harm was to come to the beasts themselves so Grawn didn't have the option of ending their lives if they caught him.
He would run or die. Running meant punishment.
The first few days, he couldn't even get past the first hound without the beast charging. This resulted in punishment of no food and beatings. After a week, he was able to quiet his footsteps with padded boots and use the Force to mask himself enough to get past the first beast. The second beast however, caught him by surprise and it was only Ibapo that stopped Grawn was being mauled to death by it. This continued for months until finally, Grawn had gotten to the end.
Only to find the matriach of the pack of tuk'ata. A creature with a slight attunement to the Force and twice the size of her children. Grawn remained in the same spot for days, studying the female leader as he began to calculate her sleep times and patrol schedules. The object Ibapo told him to retrieve was on a stand that was directly behind the female's nest. Finally, after three days of no food, silently watching the female, he moved.
The Force would do him little good, as apparently the object she made her nest by made him somewhat immune to it, so he collected several rocks from the area and his first move began. Quietly, he threw a rock down one of the two long passages before it ended in her room. As he wanted, the creature growled and went in pursuit of the noise. Grawn knew this wouldn't buy him much time, so he sped towards the object before she returned.
Grawn had his hand around the small sphere thing when a growl behind him made his blood freeze. The female was returning up the hallway, faster then normal. His mind racing, the boy made for the opposite passage just as the female came out of hers. Immediately concealing himself, he made it out the rest of the cavern without alerting the beasts and returned to Ibapo outside the cave.
The Dark Master was displeased with the length of time it took and shocked him with Force Lightning, causing Grawn to drop to the dirt fast, due to being starved and tired for over three days. The small object rolled from his hand as unconsciousness took him and Ibapo pocketed it, picking his cloak up by the hood and dragging him back to the compound.
-Breaking Down-
Years passed and as his stealth/assassin training progress, so did his slip on sanity and reality. Grawn developed a sort of extreme bi-polar disorder or multiple personality issue. Sometimes he could be a brooding, dark, calculating figure whos attacks and strategies were clean and precise. Other times, he was something much darker.
He could be a blood lusting monster on the edge of insanity, trying to kill whatever had particularly enraged him. Ibapo often commented on Grawns ability to reduce himself into an animal as a weakness, but it served the teenager well as his training progressed. Sampson would appear for frequently as time passed and the teen even could hear the hound growl in his own mind. This was often when Grawn would become a beast, as if Sampson initiated such a process.
The hound would manifest itself when Grawn was studying, not really being a distraction but served as a sentry for Ibapos approach. Really this was Grawns ability to sense through the Force becoming stronger but he wasn't aware of this as the years continued to go on.
-The Missions-
When Grawn turned 16, Ibapo felt that his training needed a change. The boy needed to be used for useful things and thus Ibapos ambitions became clear. The Dark Jedi Master fancied himself a sort of icon for the future Sith Order that he had envisioned and used Grawn to further his goals. Ibapo would often watch the Holonet and developed plans for dealing with people he believed would hinder his path.
One such man or rather, Mon Calarmarian, was Cikil Tarpaits. The Mon Cal was the senator for his planet and Ibapo felt he was becoming to bold. While not explaining why the Mon Cal was a threat to his "vision", Grawn was dispatched to the Senators vacation home on Naboo.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Old
He went on several other missions of assassination, when something needed to be silenced permanently, Grawn was called in. He proved to be extremely skilled in stealth tactics, but never shying from open combat. He was given a pearl for his lightsaber, a Krayt dragon pearl, as a reward for his skills. He continued to train under his uncle and by the age of 20, was able to keep up against with him in sparring sessions. His use of the Force was also exceedingly acceptable, managing to dispatch his foes by choking or using Force Lightning while being able to maintain his senses to a degree.
But under all the training and missions, his utter hatred for his uncle never dissipated. He remembered the day he was taken from his family clearly and waited for his chance for revenge. He knew he wouldnt be able to destroy his uncle until the time was right. Grawn continued to learn under Ibapo, while masking his hate for the being who had killed his father. The day he would get his revenge, Grawn knew, would be soon.
When Grawn became 26, Ibapo took him to a large plateau outside of his hideout on Korriban. The two watched the sinking sun as Ibapo told Grawn his graduation was nearly at hand. Soon he would be able to dislodge himself from his uncle and pursue his own dark path. The old man explained to Grawn that the final test was that Grawn and him fight, if he was able to defeat him, he could go.
A few days later, Grawn was led from his quarters to a large room. Across the room, Ibapo stood, his lightsaber drawn. The time had come.
The two dueled it out, exchanging blow after blow from one another with their lightsabers, while finding time to use the Force. Grawn fought with his hate in check, only deciding to use it if his uncle had gained the upper hand. Finally, when Ibapo had unleashed a storm of Force Lightning with only Grawns lightsaber to stop it, he decided the time was now. Ibapo was surprised as suddenly he felt years of hate and rage fly from his nephew, he pressed on harder with the storm. Finally, Grawn Force pushed the old man backwards, stopping the lightning and finally getting the opening he had needed. He gripped his uncles neck with the Force, the old man gasping for air. With both hands, Grawn enclosed his uncle in the Force and with a roar, squeezed. The result was Ibapo entire body being crushed on the inside, Grawn dropped the lifeless husk to the floor.
His revenge complete, Grawn left Korriban abroad his ship "The Red Fury" and departed the planet at which he had suffered so much.

Rattling chains echoed in the darkness, a darkness that could not be pierced by any natural light source. Grawn opened his eyes, the black assaulting him not only visually but it weighed on him physically. His legs strained under a invisible force and he couldn't summon the strength to repel it as it drove him to his knees.
As his knees hit the floor, the ground radiating a cold that pierced him, the force relented but he was unable to rise. His head went up and a portion of the darkness was pierced by a shaft of light. The area it lit up revealed the source of the rattling. A man was suspended above the ground, two chains binding his hands above his head. The man was well known to him, because it was practically him.
"What is this!", demanded the Sith to the man.
The head of the man was slumped forward in what appeared to be defeat or weariness. This was immediately proven to be neither as his head rose, his face gray and cracked and his two glowing red.
"You failed, Grawn. You failed not only yourself, but me. I was very patient with you, but now I'm at wits end", a voice that sent chills up Grawn's spine filled the chamber, but the mouth of the man never moved, "action will be taken."
"Sampson, enough! I will not stand for this! Release me at-"
"SILENCE!" the roar echoed loudly throughout the black area and made Grawn feel as if his head was punched by a wookie. "I have been here for years, you fool. I have been the focuser of your wild emotions. I made you powerful, but no more! I will no longer be the horse, Ianie"
The chains that held the human shape of Sampson went stiff and the clasps sprang open. What normally would've been a quiet thump of feet hitting the ground was made into a shockwave. The power struck Grawn full force and sent him flying but before he went to far, he was caught in a grip of raw power. His head looked to Sampson, who held his palm open.
"You have been dethroned, fool".
The force that now held him threw him to the ground, his face striking the ice cold floor. It then picked him up and threw him against the wall, the sounds of snapping bone bouncing off the wall. Grawn coughed blood as he was thrown before the feet of Sampson, the doppleganger-like creature kneeling down to his former master.
"I'll take good care of you"
Helplessly, his will and strength drained with every second by a power that held him so firmly, he levitated to the chains. Like serpents, the clasps latched upon his wrists and dropped him to the floor. Unable to act as he was drained, Grawn's eyes closed and true darkness took him, a laugh following him to unconsciousness.
In the Sith Temple, in the chambers of Grawn Ianie, his eyes opened. A small smirk came to his face as he rose up from his bed, his irises slowly changing from yellow to that of fire, flickers of orange and red mixing in. The smirk went to a fierce grin as he brought his hands up to see. He was now in true control of the fleshy vessel.
"So much work to do. So little time to do it all."
