How many drinks had Kailani had tonight? The question slipped into Shine's mind as he watched the woman grab the ale bottle and down another "healthy" swig of the stuff before setting it back down with a sigh of relief. She'd been hard at it from before they got here, one of the whispers he heard while she was tossing the Twi'lek and Shine had not seen her slow since his arrival. There was no doubt she was way more on her way to dream street then he was....but that wasn't always a bad thing. Besides, she seemed to be fine....very fine...and far be it from him to silence her joys.
Besides....it might make her a little more wild when in the privacy of another...something Shine still found himself hoping he'd get a chance at.
It wasn't looking all that great in some areas, but Kailani wasn't favoring either of them more then the other, so that was a good sign. Though Asyr's posture and growing smirk told Shine that the man thought differently. Don't get cocky yet my friend, you still haven't won the game. Shine rose an eyebrow when Asyr teased him over the dice once again, though his response this time was simply a shrug of his shoulders. "Believe what you want I suppose. But I'd have nabbed a lot more sevens for myself and more doubles for her if that were the case don't you think. And maybe let you win something now and then." He returned the look Asyr gave him, nodding over his glass before turning to focus on Kailani.
“Looks like we’re a couple a trend setters. Who’d a thunk it?”
Shine chuckled at this, nodding in agreement as Asyr followed suit. "Cept we got the right to say we started the party and have the best players so far. We're still standing."
With that said, Shine settled back to listen to Kai's story, again ever attentive to the details of every word that made its way from her lips to the air. It was a story of her first breath of true freedom, breaking free from what her parents were forcing her to do to seek her own path in life. It was something Shine was slightly familiar with, becoming a pilot instead of a cop, although he figured since her situation was a bit different then that. And more complicated, especially since it was concerning the Prince of Corellia. Shine had heard stories about the handsome Rook but being a pilot and in space or training most the time, had only heard those stories or seen him on the holonet.
To stand up royalty was an amazing tale though and when she mentioned Drake Hellion, Shine almost gasped in surprise. He'd heard the name, known of the man...and to hear that Kailani had gone with him for an adventure was a surprising shock to the mind. The mental image of a girl who knew nothing about such things driving a speeder and crashing it in the same day made Shine chuckle as he raised his glass to follow up with what she said at the end of her tale. All three of them downed a drink in honor of it, Shine wiping the little bit that escaped him off with his skin. He'd gotten used to the feeling of no shirt on, so the warm drink on his arm surprised him for a brief moment....a moment that was conquered by Kai's latest roll.
He had been joking before about her ending up with a clothing roll...and yet there it was. Double threes. It seemed that a small bit of anticipating silence came over Asyr and Shine as they turned to watch what piece of clothing she'd take off....and she did not disappoint. "Lady luck plays no favorites it seems. But indeed, I'm not against any plans she may have for us, provided she makes the right plans of course." A whistle of respect were Shine's response to what article she choose to remove, watching as one hand slid up her back, twisted once, twice the snaps were heard and she produced that red bra onto the table before them.
Shine laughed after she was done and passing the dice to Asyr, taking the rum bottle and pouring her two quick drinks in succession. "Now that is quite a feat Kailani. Got some skills with those hands of yours I see....I do nope that's not their only trick though." He winked at her, hoping the meaning within his meaning would make its way to her. It wasn't a had one to figure out either; any smuggler would be able to break open that hidden message. And with any luck, give her some ideas on how to play the game later should I win the pleasure of her company.
Asyr grabbed the dice from her a minute later and was about to roll them....when movement behind Shine caught his attention. He didn't even need to look to know what was happening behind him; the scuffle of seats and footsteps, combined with Asyr's tense state told him all he needed to know. Trouble was coming...and coming fast. Almost by instinct, one of Shine's hands made a slow slide off the table and drifted down to the holster as this side, clicking it open quietly as the source of possible pain and trouble made its presence known.
As expected, it was the men from earlier. Lady luck must have been sideswiped or chosen to throw a twist into their plans for the night. Shine sighed as he turned his eyes to watch the four who approached, the one with the bald head proudly calling out Kailani's last name as his fellows started to move to surround them; a man with their leader and one to the back of Asyr and himself. Shine quietly sipped at this drink as the man bantered for a moment with Asyr, his mind working out a solution if...no when this came to fists. The fact that they knew Kailani was a bit of a surprise...but considering she had likely been here before, the possibility of her meeting them a time before was not lost on him. So much for a simple night of fun.
Asyr was quick with the rebuttal...and the man at his back was as quick to put a blaster to Asyr's head. His fingers wrapped a little tighter around the grip of his blaster, then Nikto behind him too busy staring at Kailani's form and chuckling at Asyr's predicament to notice what Shine was doing ever so slowly. And he was about to draw that blaster when Asyr's eyes gave him a brief look...one he knew. The wait look. Had it been a stranger, Shine would have acted anyway, unsure of if that stranger really knew what he was doing. This though, was Asyr. And Shine knew very well he knew what he was doing.
Relaxing his hand from his blaster, he turned his attention to the two men standing at the table head. The Gran had pulled a blaster too, keeping it trained on Kaliani and Asyr as a whole...though he constantly keep turning his eyes to watch Shine as well. Shine contemplated his options as he waited for Asyr to make his move....and that was when he noticed the the chair the man was standing beside. The idea flew through his head and a small grin slide across his features as he caught Asyr's eye again, glinting mischief to follow when the party started. Slowly his leg drifted towards the chair, his hand drifting closer to one of the bottles...and he waited for the act to start.
When Asyr made his move, so did Shine, taking advantage of the Gran's reaction. Thr Gran swung his weapon towards the Echani when Asyr struck his attacker, ready to end the Asyr's battle before it began....and then found himself stumbling forward as a chair collided with his legs. As soon as Asyr had started to disarm and deal with his attacker, Shine had booted that chair straight into the Gran, shattering his balance.
The bottle of whiskey was in his hand before the Gran managed to slow his trip and glass met those eyes as the bottle smashed, hard, into him. The Gran stumbled back as blood dripped from his face and eyes, curses in a language Shine did not know as he tried to shake the haze from his mind. Shine didn't wait for him to recover before he shot from his seat, bringing elbow up to jaw to stun or ko the man before grabbing the collar of his vest and spinning him into a throw that forced him to collide with his Nikto friend. Both men went down in a pile of flesh that cursed in basic...a pile that spilled a pile of drinks onto a group of equally rugged looking spacers.
What followed was like someone dropping a bomb into a crowded circle....absolute chaos. A single domino that set up the others to fall. And all Shine could do was throw up his arms and prepare for the fallout.

Kailani enjoyed the leers and lecherous glances from the other tables as she settled herself in rather inappropriate dress. A few low whistles pierced the air as she had settled back into her seat. Smiling brightly she watched as Asyr took the dice and readied himself for a roll of his own, seeing what Lady Luck dealt him that night. Then, sh*t hit the fan.
"Quix!" With an audible groan as she turned about with a snarl. “What do you want, Darius?” She hissed twisting about in her chair with a glare.
"Can't believe you, woman. Y' must be desperate to be tryin' to get these fellas." The bald thug laughed, resting an arm on the back of her chair, leaning in close to the woman. Sour ale wafted off his breathe grossly. “Like you’re such a damn fine catch yourself, Darius. F*ck you!” She shouted. Moving to shove the thick human away, she was stopped as Asyr spoke. Turning, her face twisted with anger as she watched as Asyr attempted to stand up for her.
"Could be, that miss Kai here has standards that you just don't meet, friend.” He continued, shooting a cool smirk to the table before continuing. "I mean, I think we both have you beat. So if you don't min-"
Then the blaster hit his neck, and with it Kailani’s anger grew, she began shouting. “Darius you spineless bastard, get outta here! I’m gonna kick your ass!” Standing up, the blonde woman grabbed her jacket and tossed it on, face wrinkled with fury and mind turned to violence. Darius though, used to such a response merely ignored Kai, tilting his head to one of his thugly friends to handle her. The Gran had his blaster trained on her, but that didn’t stop the flood of enraged yelling that poured from the woman’s lips. Her string of colorful words though was cut short as the boys seemed to move in unison.
Asyr had in a flash of white hands both disarmed and slammed the human’s face into the table, shattering a glass into it. The Gran attempted to dart forward, but Shine too was upon him within seconds. Darius, bleeding and scraped up as he was gave a moan of pain before staggering up. Blood blurred his vision, but he'd recognize Kailani even through the haze of pain and red. He lunged at her with an incoherent roar. The force of her boot to his face emitted an audible crack. Something was certainly broken after a strike like that.
Pushed backword by the force of Kailani’s roundhouse kick, the ruined man fell backwards onto a nearby table to the shock and screams of the patrons. Toppling back, and breaking the table those patrons ran into others. Old grudges boiled to the surface as Bennigan’s busted out into an all out brawl. Still shaking with fury the blonde woman turned about snarling as she grabbed a nearby spacer who had in his grip a large chair ready to smash over Shine’s head for spilling his drink and scaring off his lady friend. Wrenching the man in her grips she twisted him to face her, punching him in the face and laughing as he crumpled to the ground.
His friend of course didn’t take too kindly to this. The fist hit Kailani hard, harder than she was expecting . Landing the blow on her face, Kailani staggered backwards clutching it, another stream of curses flooding from her lips. Though it didn’t stop her from finishing off the guy who had dared to strike her. Rushing forward, she tackled him, punching him in the face repeatedly as the rest of the patrons yelled and fought behind her. In the moment of pure, blinding rage all other thoughts disappeared. She was lost in the feeling of her gloved fists hitting his face until it was reduced to bloody gore.

With the bald one down, Asyr turned his focus elsewhere. Shine had taken the initiative to attack some of the others, and that had set the whole of the bar off like a match dropped in kerosene. Even if the other patrons in the place didn't have anything to do with the first conflict, they got involved. As one fight spilled from one part of the bar to others, then more would break out, and so on and so on. It was the way of things; especially in places where nearly everyone had soaked their brains to hell and back with alcohol.
Asyr loved it. Bar fights were a thrill, where he got that rush that let him know he was really alive. Why, if this one was a good one, he might even sweat a bit. Maybe.
Two men, both obviously drunk, came rushing at him, even though he hadn't done anything to them. Maybe they were friends of the man he'd just slammed into the glass. Or maybe the alcohol in their blood and the hairs on their chest had just gotten the best of them. Asyr didn't care either way.
The first one swung at him. Asyr leaned back out of the way of the blow and stepped aside, kicking out a foot to trip him. With a push, he sent the man tumbling down to the ground. There wasn't time to do more to him though. The second came at him, swinging wild hooks at him that might have been close to decent if he wasn't drunk. But he was, and even buzzed as he was, Asyr wasn't going to be hit by the likes of that. He stepped back, dodging the blows smoothly, and then stepped forward while ducking beneath one of the blows. In single smooth motion, he grabbed the fellow's legs and, using his powerful back, lifted him up from the ground and heaved him onto a to table nearby. Plates and glasses flew every which way as the legs on one side of the table gave out and the thing fell over, with the unfortunate lout with it.
His partner was getting back to his feet by this time, but Asyr was on him before he could do anything. His hand went to his throat, and he stepped forward past the man and kicked one of his legs out. With his opponent's balance so thrown off it, it was a simple thing to slam the back of his head down into the ground. That was two down.
He glanced back to see Kai and Shine still fighting. Well, Shine was, at least. Kai looked like she was wailing on some guy, but part of that was obstructed by the broken table. The Nikto, however, had regained his balance by now and was stalking toward her back with a broken bottle in hand.
Asyr darted over there and put himself between them. The Nikto swung at his head with the bottle. Asyr ducked the blow and deftly caught that wrist and knocked the broken glass free. The Nikto countered with a punch toward his stomach. However, Asyr could read his motions and saw the blow coming. Acting quickly, he emptied some of the air from his lungs and tensed the muscles of his stomach. The fist hit him dead on, oh yes, but with his stomach turned into a proverbial wall of stone, Asyr didn't bat an eye. It had been a big part of his training growing up--taking hard blows to areas like his stomach and back to learn to deal with them and build pain tolerance.
The Nikto looked surprised. Asyr just smirked. Tightening the grip on the wrist he held, he brought it up a twisted it over to break it and then flipped the Nikto to the ground. A follow-up kick broke ribs and took him out of the fight.
It had only taken a moment to deal with that problem, and when he turned around, he was surprised to see that Kai had seemed to lose all control and was focused on beating the ever living piss out of some unlucky man's face. She's past that. Asyr glanced around. The brawl was starting to die down, but it was still going. Focusing on one thing so heavily would be dangerous.
He leaned down and put a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Look alive, Miss Kai," he said with an easy smile. "This one's dead, or probably wishes he was. There are still other faces to beat in."

It always amazed Shine how quickly a bar that was, up till a moment ago, a party of laughter and friendly patrons, turned into the degrading situation that was now over taking the bar one drunken member at a time. It only took one bad seed to stir up trouble, four in this case, to turn those happy smiles into drunken frenzies that turned man against, man, woman against woman. Sometimes woman against man, as far as Kailani was concerned. And it was amusing to watch that the major reason for people adding to the chaos was their drinks getting spilled. Which prompted strikes. Which prompted retaliatory strikes. Which prompted visits to the hospital for likely to be half the bar by the time this winded down.
But Shine wasn't thinking of the later. He was thinking of the now....anything else and he would likely be one of the many that would be groaning on the floor later. Darius and his crew had been dropped with relative ease, but now swarms of new foes were rising up. And they didn't even have a beef with Shine or Asyr or Kailani or anyone else they fought with; they saw people and they just went for them. Well, they did go for whoever spilled their drinks or the what not and more then a few of them were bee-lining for the trio, seeing them as the cause of their misfortunes...but mostly it was random brawling. Grinning, Shine ducked a flying jug as he reached down and grabbed his shirt, throwing it over his shoulders before turning to engage an oncoming group.A sound behind him caught him by surprise and he turned for a moment to spy a spacer flying off his feet from a well placed kick from Kailani..a man who a moment later would have dropped a chair on his head. Shine sent Kai a wink of thanks before turning to his oncoming attackers.
Two men...and one very pissed off lady. She would have been someone to admire...if she didn't flash black teeth and showed nails as chipped and jagged as her companions teeth. Shine winced at the sight, and braced himself for the incoming attack. Like the man from before, Shine had the advantage as they were visibly buzzed more then him...but that was no reason to let his guard down.
Asyr was one skilled in several martial arts....Shine on the other hand, had a much different approach to combat. He was considered to be what people would call an environmental fighter. It meant he didn't just fight his enemies one on one, he used the area around him to his advantage. He did have some skill though, military sparing did that for you...and he was not above using every advantage he could get to out fight his attackers. And the chaotic bar gave him plenty of options on what to do.
The first of the men came strolling in quick to him, a fist already raised to strike at him. Dumb move; he could have at least waited till he was closer before showing his intended attack. Shine easily sidestepped the drunken swung before catching the man's outstretched arm and putting his weight into directing the man's forward momentum a different way. Right into his rushing friend for example. The two men cursed out as they collided with one another, their bodies collapsing to the ground in a heap of tangled limbs. He didn't have time to admire their attempts to get free, as a slicing hand nearly clipped a piece of his skin from him.
Turning to the source, he saw the woman swinging wildly at him, trying to slice at him with those nails of hers. Dear lord, how sharp were those things...and what foul surprises he'd get from one if it connected. And she's with those men for what......I hope its not for what I think it might be. Oh lord. Her constant shrieks, curses and flails were annoying if nothing else...but not a threat. And like he'd said...he was good at using his environment to his advantage. In the chaos, plenty of things had spilled to the floor...including several jugs of spilled drinks. As he passed by one, he gave it a shove towards her with his foot...and she lost her balance as her foot came down on it and the jug shot out.
Her cry of surprise mirrored Shine's sharp gasp of pain as she feel forward, a final attempt to attack him slicing a red line in his skin. He winced at the stinging pain, but was enough into the rising knee he had coming to her gut that he was able to ignore it. She roared out in pain at knee met ribs, then went silent as Shine dropped an elbow to the back of her head. She slumped silent to the floor, stunned and sleeping. And he left it at that, turning to look for where Asyr and Kailani had gone in the chaos.
He managed to spy glimpses of them through the chaos that he was dodging, Asyr pummeling the Nikto from earlier, Kailani beating...some unlucky sod. Then's Shine noticed that the man known as Darius was standing again...and conversing with very big man. The well muscled man that stood to his left had to stand at least short of seven feet tall....and Shine didn't want to guess his weight. Whatever Darius was screaming at the man was lost in the raging shouts and violence, but from the way the man's eyes trained on Kai and Asyr, Shine could wager a guess what was about to happen.
Time was short. Asyr was tough, Shine knew this, but he wasn't looking towards the man. And combined with the chaos, he couldn't hear the man coming either. Shine's eyes darted around the chaos for something, anything that he could use to take the man down. His body wouldn't be enough. And then he spotted a small metal tub that had once held ice and booze. Dashing into the raging crowd, he kicked the metal bucket up into his hands as he passed it and spied his next step. A table. Ducking an incoming swing from another patron, Shine put all the strength he could into his legs...and jumped up to the table and into the air. Right towards the big man. With all the force he could muster, he slammed that bucket down on the man's head as he passed him, landing into a roll on the other side. Something pricked his back, causing a sharp pain..but he ignored it.
The man stumbled as he was suddenly cut off of sight and dazed by the metal hitting skull. Angry words echoed from that metal head and Shine cursed when he saw the man starting to pry it off. Rushing to his feet, Shine ran towards another table, yelling to Asyr as he passed. "Asyr, tiny coming your way. I'll get him high, you go low."
He was close enough for the man to hear him over the ruckus and as soon as he finished speaking, Shine burst into a full second sprint for a moment to gain the needed momentum. From floor to table to air again he went, bringing his knee up high and smashing it into the man's chin, gripping to his body as he did before dropping down to the floor and rolling to the side....to avoid what he hoped would be a rushing Asyr to give the stumbling giant a through follow through. And just for good measure, Shine managed to swing his leg around to swipe at the man's. Trip him for the finale...always fun.

The bar, the brawl, even the idiot Darius faded from her mind as fist met face with a sickening wet thud. The fool before her was bleeding profusely, his nose and face battered by the studded gloved fist as Kailani pounded without mercy. Groaning he had long stopped struggling against the onslaught of her focused beating, the blood splattering back against her shirt with every strike. Electricity crackled across her skin as a strong hand gently touched her shoulder. With a feral twist blood soaked fist poised she struck at her newest attacker. His words didn't even register in her rage clouded mind until her hand hit the wall of hard chiseled abs. The pain of hitting the marble wall that was Asyr's chest snapped the woman back into reality.
Recoiling and shaking her hand Kailani let loose another stream of profanities. Her eyes closed tightly as she clutched her hand, the pain was far more intense now. The smoke had lifted from her eyes and rage ended.
"Frell, man! That hurt like a son of nerfherder." Kailani sputtered wiping the reddish liquid off her hands taking only a moment to look over at the damage she'd caused. "Frell..." Shaking her head she turned back to the bar. People were really letting loose. People the mood had turned sour and people were out for blood. Blasters were out and shots fired. Darius was shouting at someone who could only be described as a giant who then lumbered towards them. Her hand scrambled into the oversized jacket withdrawing a single blaster pistol. The giant of a man loomed over them a vibrosword clutched tightly in hand as the petit woman growled angrily.
Then in a sudden shower of ice and a loud TWANG, Shine tackled the man, slamming a bucket of ice over his head and succesfully disorienting him. The vibrosword dropped, falling to the table with a buzz as woodchips and splinters hit the air. Shine, making a brilliant recovery turned to the Echani with a devilish smirk.
"Asyr, tiny coming your way. I'll get him high, you go low."
"Shine, I owe ya one, mate." Kailani said as the two men nodded in agreement to take down the massive gentlemen. Kailani had her sights set for someone else though. The bastard that had started everything, Darius. Blaster still clutched in hand the woman glanced over at the vibroblade as it spun lazily about, scuffing the surface of the table. Might as well take it. Who knew what one might need. Deactivating the blade she gripped it in hand, Tiny certainly wouldn't be needing it anymore.
Searching the brawling crowds Kailani found Darius by the back, limping and ready to bail out on his men. "Coward," She muttered darkly, eyes set on him as she hopped over tables and upturned chairs, green eyes glittering dangerously. Moving into the back room, the door swung slowly behind him, and in a flash Kai was with him. The back room, mostly used for preparing the limited selection of food they served at the establishment. Quiet as mouse she stalked, vibrosword and blaster clutched one in each hand.
Darius limped slowly, towards the door blood dripped on the floor haphazardly.
"Leavin' so soon, Dar?" Kailani asked, her voice filled with the same harshness exhibited that the beginning of the evening. All softness, all pleasantness was lost.
Eyes wide with fear, Darius could feel the blood pumping hard in his veins, leaking out over his face between the shards of glass embedded within. He reached the door, one hand fumbling with the lock as the other pointed a blaster at the woman.
"Back off Quix, 'is gone on lon' enough dun'cha think?" He stammered, sweat mingling with the lifeblood that smeared his face and vision.
"Nope. I think we're just gettin' started." Her face was serious, cool and collected. Thinking back to the pitful man she'd left behind, Kailani clenched her fists, trying to control the fog of hate that was clouding her mind. The blood on her fists were was still wet, staining the silvery studs bright red as the spacer continued to struggle, perturbed by her long silence, her hesitiation. Twisting about Darius finally flicked the lock open and the door swung out. A single shot fired from Kai's blaster, hitting the spacer in the back of the knee. Darius' groaned was blocked out by the sounds of closer shouting, the door to the back room busted open with a bang and with it the woman turned about to investigate.
A pair of drunken slobs had taken their fight into there, shouting and cursing. Another blaster was out and bolt fired off, hitting the ceiling with a loud PEW. "Will you f*cks knock it off?! I'm tryin' to have a moment 'ere!" She shouted before turning her attention back to the open door. But Darius was gone. Jumping the door, Kailani turned about on the path, looking for where he could have gone. All that remained was a blood stain where he had fallen.
"Frell!"

{So sorry >_>}
What if she doesn't realize it's me? a little voice wondered in the back of his mind. If Kai was as lost in her bloodrage as she seemed to be, Asyr didn't think she would, not at first. Maybe she would...
No. She didn't.
He saw her start to turn around, notice the way her hand clenched and pulled back, ready to strike. So he did the same thing he'd done for the Nikto. As her hand flew toward him, his stomach tightened and hardened. Her hand hit it. She recoiled and shook her hand out, screaming more profanities. For his part, Asyr simply looked down to the blood smeared onto his abs and chuckled.
"Frell, man! That hurt like a son of nerfherder."
"My apologies, Miss Kai," Asyr answered quickly, looking off to the side. Then he looked to her, and despite the chaos around them, flashed a little grin. "I'll make it up to you later tonight, promise. But 'til then, we still got some heads to crack."
With Kai seen to, Asyr turned his attention to the fray around them. It was dying down, with most of the patrons of the bar standing there as if in a daze or out on the ground, unconscious or too drunk and in too much pain to move. Still, some stragglers continued to fight and throw wild hooks and haymakers at each other. A few had even pulled out pistols now, but drunks made for terrible shots.
Glancing back behind him, he saw that Darius, bloodied face and all, had recovered. Asyr nearly felt a bit of a kindred admiration for the man; it took a lot to get back onto your feet with a huge gash in your face and blood trickling into your eye. Pity it probably wasn't the worst that was going to happen to the guy.
Darius was talking to a large man. A very large man. His body was massive, and he had a few good inches on even Asyr. That didn't bother the Echani as much as it might some other men; Asyr was big yes, and he was very strong--stronger than even his size might indicate. Even so, he'd come across guys like this before. They weren't the type to get into a long, drawn out battle of punch-trading; they almost always won. Asyr knew how to take people out in the blink of an eye, though, and with Shine helping, they could send Biggy over there off to la-la land before he could even think about wrapping those thick sausage fingers around their necks.
Pushing himself up to his feet, he kept sweeping his gaze around. Shine was already starting to charge the big guy with a large metal tub in hand. Asyr chuckled softly and started to twist around so he could assist, when he noticed a more immediate threat. The pair of roughs that Shine had sent to the ground in a tangled pile earlier had regained their footing. However, instead of going after Shine, the guy that had put them on the ground in the first place, their alcohol-riddled minds decided the tall, half-naked Echani was the one that had to pay. Got a few seconds. Let's get this over with. Asyr merely snorted. Gotta take the threats out of the fight, Shine.
He moved back and to the side, giving himself a bit of room to work and making them follow him. Light glinted off of something in one of their hands. Knife. "Oh come on," he jeered, "that's hardly fair!" Hardly fair to them. He wouldn't need any of the weapons around his belt to deal with the two.
The first one reached Asyr and threw a wild swing with his right fist, then his left. Asyr easily ducked the first and blocked the follow-up with his forearm. His counter was swift and furious. Fist to gut, elbow to face and a hard shove with both his powerful arms to send the drunk stumbling back away from him just as his buddy approached with the knife, ready to cut Asyr open.
The little blade sliced through the air, very nearly finding Asyr's flesh, but the Echani leaned out of the way of the blow. Asyr took a half-step back, bringing himself closer to the wall, making himself a tempting target for another attack. That was the plan. He didn't have time to toy with this one, especially not with the big guy still to deal with. The second attack came almost immediately after the first, and a grin almost broke over Asyr's features. He couldn't have asked for a better attack.
It was a stabbing slash aimed at Asyr's throat. With a practiced ease, Asyr leaned just far enough to the side to avoid the slash. While he did this, and the man's momentum took him forward, he reached out with his left arm to place a hand on his shoulder; meanwhile, his right fist exploded forward and slammed into the side of his opponent's ribcage. The strength of his blow, coupled with the idiot's forward momentum in the opposite direction snapped a rib. Asyr was just getting started.
Before the pain could even fully register in the drunk's mind, Asyr acted again, shoving forward with his left arm as he hooked his right leg around the left of the other man and jerked it back. In a single motion, Asyr laid him flat on the ground. There was a loud crack as his head slammed into the ground. Continuing with the attack, Asyr levied a brutal kick into the man's side and followed with a devastating punch to the ribs with all of his weight and strength he could muster thrown behind it. His fist slammed into the man's ribcage with the force of a chunk of rock dropped from the top of a building. Bone shattered beneath the blow.
That was about the time the knife clattered as it hit the floor.
All in all, it had taken a second, maybe two to deal with him, but the knifeman was out of the brawl for good. Asyr looked up to see his buddy--now with a bloody nose--had recovered from the shove. A quick glance back showed the big man had that bucket Shine held earlier on his head. Least Albartos is creative, he mulled, straightening back to his full height.
The drunk ran at him again, bellowing incoherently. You'd think he'd learn after getting knocked flat. This time Asyr didn't entertain the notion of letting him get close. He grounded his weight and let his leg surge out and forward in an explosive kick that hit the man square in top of the stomach. His strength erupted out through his powerful muscles, and force of the blow actually lifted the drunk from his feet and pushed him back a few feet. He came down and crumpled to his knees, hunched over and clutching at his stomach and broken ribs. For a moment, he dry heaved and then coughed wetly. Specks of blood colored his lips red and fell on the ground beneath him. Asyr grabbed one of the broken table legs from the ground and cracked it over the lout's head.
And that was that for him.
"Asyr, tiny coming your way. I'll get him high, you go low."
Asyr glanced back to see the big guy had managed to get that metal bucket off of his head. Shine ran forward again, and leaping off of table, delivered a hard knee to the man's face. Asyr watched calmly, waiting to see what would happen. The big fellow staggered and even nearly fell when Shine kicked out at his leg. But somehow, amazingly, he stayed on his feet. His eyes fell on Asyr, and their gazes locked for a moment.
Big guy was pissed.
He started to charge at Asyr. Asyr let a little smirk cross his face and then exploded forward with a speed he'd yet to show all night.
Two bounding steps took him forward and he shoved off the ground, pushed off the wall with his legs and zipped through the air, spinning into a brutal kick that had his boot slamming into the side of the big fella's jaw. Hard. Asyr normally would've landed in a crouch, and he might have been able to now, but he didn't trust himself to try it, buzzed as he was. So instead he pulled his arms in and landed in a roll on his side, then came up to settle on his heels in a low crouch.
The big man stumbled and fell to his knee, but he would not go all the down. Even with his teeth broken and his mouth bloody from their combined assaults. "Come on! What the hell do they feed you?!"
Remarkably, he started to stand again.
Asyr wasn't going to let him.
He exploded forward as the big man pushed himself up. Using the man's bent leg as a step, Asyr grabbed his right arm and twisted it up and around while he leapt up and behind to perch on the man's shoulders. Asyr then curled forward, using his body weight to tip the guy over and take him into a controlled flip that would made him go into a roll and slammed the big guy down on his back. They hit the ground, and Asyr came out of his roll with his legs wrapped around the big man's shoulders and neck and that massive arm held behind the big man, over his own body. He used his body like a lever and pulled back, pushing on the neck and shoulders of the big man and push up with his hip, where the arm was settled. He could've snapped the arm then if he wanted to; he nearly did, but other things were already in mind. He tightened his grip with his right hand and let the left fall away to reach down to his belt and grab at one of his knives. When he had it, his hand darted back up and the blade sunk into the big guy's massive bicep.
A roar of pain filled the bar, but he didn't stop. Asyr was aware of several things stabbing into his back--broken glass, more than likely--but he didn't pay them any mind. Now that Biggy was taken by pain, he unraveled himself and gave a crushing blow to the man's throat, very much like the first one Shine had ever seen him give, back in that embassy on Rodia.
The big guy gurgled and coughed, then fell silent. Asyr stood to his feet, breathing just a little heavy and looked around. The bar was quiet, save the sound of Kailani's angry yells and a last scuffle dying down. It was over.
He reached around and pulled the little pricks of glass from his back and looked at them. There was a tiny amount of blood on some of them, but reaching back to feel himself, he didn't feel any real bleeding.
He walked over to the now-ruined table they'd been sitting at before everything went to hell and grabbed his black shirt. "Nice work, Albartos," he said with a respectful nod to the smaller man. "Knew we'd still make a good team." With an easy motion, Asyr slung his shirt back on over his shoulders, though he left it unzipped and hanging open for the time being.
For a few short moments his eyes roved around the bar as he leaned down to pluck his knife from the arm of the fallen giant. Where'd Kai go? There she is. She was over near the door, looking out to where Darius had escaped. "Miss Kai," he called, walking over to stand near her, "how well do you know these fellas?"

[Well I'm not sorry *sticks out tongue* Heh]
Jesus that man had some amazing balance. And legs that felt like tree trunks. Against any normal man, the power of a high knee to his jaw would be enough to send them into a deep sleep for a long while. And even if by some miracle that the man was able to keep on his feet, he would be dazed, confused. The leg sweep would have taken any balance someone hit by that knee had and flipped it upside down...along with them. But by the gods, the man had legs as thick as tree trunks and even when Shine hit those legs as hard as he could...the man did not fall.
He stumbled sure...and he did not fall. And even from his angle, Shine could see that the man was pissed. And the direction of his rage was focused not at the man who'd hit him...but at Asyr. Somewhere inside Shine that stung a bit...but then again, Asyr had been the man's target in the first place. Maybe he was just building up his rage to finishing what he'd been tasked with.....maybe he was that simple. Either way, the man had his focus....or so Shine thought. Just before he exploded towards Asyr, he did give Shine attention one more time....in the form of those massive hands swinging back and cold cocking Shine across the cheek.
Wood broke where Shine crashed into and for a moment, the world was really spinny. It was like being really drunk.....minus the slamming pain in his cheek. Despite that, Shine laughed as he shook the haze from his mind and pulled himself to his feet from the remains of....well it looked like it was a table before. Or maybe it was a chair. He couldn't be sure. He's built like a tank and he slaps like a woman. Kai fights more like a man then he does...and at least she's pretty to look at.
Shine had just set his eyes on the man, who was busy getting into a new brawl with Asyr...when a blaster bolt whizzed by his head, buzzing off the tips of his front bangs. His eyes opened a little wider with surprise at that and he turned to the direction the bolt came....and spotted the Gran from before. One of his eyes was still dripping blood, the other half open through a swell from bruising....but that third eye was narrowed at him in anger. And even though Gran's were ugly as sin and their expressions almost always seemed to be one of anger...Shine could see the Gran was steaming. At him.
It was by some form of luck that Shine hadn't been tagged right there. But then, he was the one who'd basically crippled the Gran's depth perception and ability to get a bead on him. Luck was there...but so had been Shine's work. He'd saved his own hide without even knowing he would; funny how things sometimes worked out like that. But dwelling on this for long would be a bad idea; the Gran was already trying to steady himself and his aim for another shot. There's always someone who's got to take the fun out of brawl by bringing a gun to the party.
Before the Gran could get another shot off, the blaster in his hand went flying off into the crowd as something smashed into it. Something hot and burning. Like the bolt Shine had just fired from the blaster at his side, which had cleared his holster in no time flat, aimed at the Gran and let one loose. The Gran hissed and grabbed his wrist in pain and anger, its teeth rubbing against each other in a gritty glare at the man who'd twice made a fool of him. Shine simply cast the Gran a smile, spun the blaster around on his finger and slipped it nice and easy back into its place at his side. Putting his arms up to either side, Shine curled his fingers back towards him twice in succession. An invitation to try his luck on a more physical ground.
"Its bad manners to spoil a brawl just because your face got a little prettier. Come on then, I'll teach you how a brawl is supposed to be played...unless your as chicken as you are ugly. You have looked in a mirror lately yes?"
Whatever nerves on edge the Gran had, Shine's mocking managed to tip them. With a roar that seemed more primal then civilized, the Gran hopped a pair of woman slapping and ripping at each other's hair and burst into a head on charge at Shine. Ah, there was nothing easier to take down then a foe that was thinking with the blood rushing to his head instead of logically. And seeing as the Gran was charging like a raging bull......
Shine waited till the Gran was almost on him before stepping to the side, one foot remaining in place to await his guest. Sure enough, the Gran noticed his mistake too late, tried to correct his speed or direction...and ended up flogging himself as his feet tangled after he made contact with Shine's outstretched foot. That roar turned into a squeal of surprise as the Gran went tumbling over himself and into the very stubborn bar counter with a surprisingly loud "TWACK". Even Shine had to wince at the sound as the image of how much pain the Gran was sure to be in played on his mind. Couldn't have happened to a better guy at least. Thinking his foe done, Shine started to turn...and was met with a fist to the face.
Now that was the first real surprise Shine had taken today. Shine shot back from his attacker, buying himself time...time to shake that hit from his senses and to identify his attacker, who was already rushing in for a second hit. Flesh met flesh again as the man nailed Shine with another hit and again Shine stumbled back in surprise, until his back hit the counter. He felt the blood dripping from his face but didn't have time to worry about how bad he might have been hurt. That could come after he dealt with the man who was trying to cause more.
The man's second strike had done him the favor of bringing his focus back at least. And despite the fact that his head spun a little and he was seeing several stars, he was able to squint at his foe....the first man Asyr had taken down. Well look who woke up. The man was already moving in for another hit, the pain he'd suffered at Asyr's hand visibly clear across his face...as was the rage behind the growing smile the man had. How he was standing was another miracle for the night that Shine didn't have time to really ponder. He was up, he was angry and he saw an easy mark in Shine. Did everyone think he was easy bait or not worth their time? Low blow to pride. Blood dripped from his previous wounds as he drew his arm back for another strike.
He never got that third hit in. Now that he was facing his attacker, Shine was able to be ready for his strike. The fist met air as Shine dodged to the side and almost immediatly after, Shine grabbed the man by the wrist and slammed his arm against the unyielding counter. A howl of pain went shooting into the slowly quieting bar...a howl that wasn't going to end soon unless something else was done. Not if Shine could help it. Training had always taught you never to give your opponent a chance to recover. A good lesson, especially when fighting against opponents who knew nothing of a fair fight. So before that man could recover or make the fight into one where Shine would be at a disadvantage, he acted.
His fist met the man's face, a move that was repeated to his side, forcing the man to buckle slightly. Grabbing him firmly by his hair with both hands, Shine slammed the man headfirst into the counter and held him there. Another slam followed, erupting a gasp from the man before Shine hit him down again. The man groaned in pain and weakness....and before he could stumble away of be given a chance to recover, Shine reached down, hooked his arm through the man's legs...and heaved. He heaved the man up onto his shoulders, holding him around the legs and around the neck with his other arm for just a moment before he tossed him. Legs up first, head down, over the counter. A thick crash and a sickingly crack came as part of the man hit the counter on the way down before his body vanished behind the bar.
Lifting his hand to wipe the blood away from his face now that he had a moment, Shine turned to the slowing brawl. Asyr was just finishing off his foe...and Kai....there she was, bursting out the door screaming profanities. Now where would she be going? Shine made a move to follow...when the man behind the counter shot up again, screaming in anger and drawing a long knife from his belt. He didn't even get a chance to use it. Shine's fist met his face again, a single blow to the man's jaw with every ounce of force Shine could give. Back went the man into the various bottles and wines behind him before he slumped down to the floor again, his eyes white to signify he was really done this time.
Finally able to take off, Shine started making his way towards the door, sharp kicking the stirring Gran on his way out. As the fighting was dying down, Shine was able to mostly move unopposed to the now open doorway...only a few slight swings that were really just the final moments of a drunken man before he went to take a nap. That lingering pain in his back reminded him that he must have rolled over something eariler....a hand back found that he had a little shards of glass stuck in him Wincing, he pulled the shards out quickly; they weren't deep so the bleeding was only light and nothing to worry about for now.
Shine nodded to Asyr as he came to walk with the man outside to find the raging woman that was Kailani screaming words into the darkness. Apparently Darius had escaped from her...a fact the woman did not like much. Folding his arms across his chest, Shine raised an eyebrow and chuckled slightly. "From the sound of it, more then she would like, not enough for him to like. At least, that's what I gather from the way she avoided looking at them when they came in. So Miss Kai....care to let us in about your old "friends"?

Kailani had spent her time shouting out into the night air outside of Bennagian's, the skywalk stretched out around her busy with people hurry to and fro. They paid little mind to the woman as profanities spewed from her delicate lips. The bastard had gotten away, again. Pacing about the woman was obviously disheveled from the brawl. Her long curly hair had come undone and poofed wildly about her face, the rips in her shirt had stretched out to the point where it would have to be disposed off. Kicking out angrily, her boot hit a speeder bike with a metallic twang, toppling the sleek black and yellow machine over. This no doubt had a domino effect, a long line of speeder bikes knocking back one at a time to the ground.
"Miss Kai," Asyr called out to her, twisting about Kailani looked up at the much taller Echani man, her fury melting some. The night wasn't a total loss yet. She'd made some damn useful company, that much was for sure. "How well do you know these fellas?" Opening her mouth to respond, a dull throb came from her cheek. It was bruised badly, she could feel that much. Taking a single finger she gently prodded the purplish flesh beneath her eye. It stung, but nothing the girl couldn't handle.
"From the sound of it, more then she would like, not enough for him to like. At least, that's what I gather from the way she avoided looking at them when they came in. So Miss Kai....care to let us in about your old "friends"?
"I swear I'm gonna gut 'im like a fish!" She shouted before reining back in her temper. "That bald nerfherder was Darius. He use ta be on the ole Bloody Hand.. Drake got damn tired of 'im though. He was always tryin' to take an extra piece for 'imself. And he seemed to think that 'Yes' means 'Yes' and 'No' means, 'take me, I'm yours' " she spat out, walking back into the wrecked dive. Bennagian's certainly wasn't going to be getting any more business any time soon. The crowd had done a number on the place, but they always got back on their feet, this wasn't the first time. Nor would it be the last.
"After he left workin' for Drake he started workin' for this other guy, Lou. They propositioned me for a job before, but theres no way I'm willin' to get within' twenty paces of either of 'em, ya feel me?"
Reaching the table they had been at before, Kailani took a third of the credits left in the pot, as well as her bra and tucked them into the baggy jacket before zipping it up. "But yeah, needless to say especially after tonight, neither of 'em are my best friends. Prollly gonna get grief for this, but it was well worth it, am I right?" A grin slide across her lips and she smiled brightly at both of them, tucking hands into her pants pockets. She still hadn't made a decision between the two. They both had proven their worth... and then some. Maybe she'd just go home alone that night...

Kai was mad.
No.
Kai was pissed.
She stood just beyond threshold into the bar, yelling and screaming wildly into the night. Some of the people that walked by cast her strange looks, but none of them stopped; some even picked their pace up, eager to get away from the crazy woman with the bruised face and a shirt that just barely covered her. Asyr stood quietly, enjoying the gentle touch of the cool night air on his still-exposed stomach and chest, and waited for her to finish her venting. He winced inwardly as she violently kicked a speeder and set a whole line of them to toppling over.
Yeah, she's mad. The glare she turned onto him, looking like those emerald eyes could melt even the hardest of stone or the strongest of metals, only reaffirmed it.
Shine arrived at Asyr's side, and the Echani looked over to his smuggler friend when he heard his voice. The sight of Shine's face made Asyr wince a little bit too. He was bloody, looked like he'd gotten on the wrong end of somebody's fist. Probably did. Looking between the two of his companions, Asyr realized that, save what little pricks he'd gotten when he flipped the giant of a man down onto the ground, he'd gotten through the brawl unscathed. Perhaps his skill played a part in that, sure, but he knew more than anything that it was luck. That didn't usually happen in bar brawls, even for him.
But he wouldn't complain.
Kailani started to speak, to tell them of her history with Darius. Apparently he was an old crewmate, one that she very clearly held no love for. Asyr stood to the side when Kai turned to go back into the bar and then quietly followed, listening to her talk.
The place was a wreck now. Tables and chairs were broken, blood stained the floor in multiple places, one of the front windows had been smashed... It'd been a while since Bennigan's had seen a fight this bad, but they would be up and running again before the end of the week. They always were.
"So he's runnin' with another guy, now, is he?" Asyr stuck his hands into his pants pockets as they reached the table they'd been sitting at. "And those bums were his, I take it. Theirs." He grunted softly, looking back to the huge man he'd taken out with Shine's help. Blood was pooling on the floor around his open mouth. He was dead. Or if he wasn't he would be very soon. Crushed windpipes tended to do that.
"Well," he went on, looking back to Kai, "sounds like we've made ourselves some enemies tonight. And they'll be back for you. But I got an idea." A dangerous little smirk bloomed on his face. "It's dangerous, though.
"Jyrod," he called back, looking across the bar to his old waiter friend, "whaddya know about these guys? Darius and Lou?"
Jyrod was rather disheveled now. His hair was wild and his apron askew. He looked like he'd taken a clip to the face himself. "Depends on what you want to know, Asyr." The man paused from his work--picking up broken bottles and disposing of them in a large bucket--and looked over to the group. "Why?"
Asyr grinned. "Good. You gonna be here in the mornin'?"
"Looks like it. Someone's gonna have to help clean this damn mess up."
"Perfect." Asyr turned back to face Shine and Kai. "Look, I say we hit him back before he gets the chance. Jyrod knows alotta things about alotta people, so I figure we can get some good info from him." He grinned. "How about this? We can call it a night now. No need to hang around this place anymore with it like this. We can meet back up here in the morni-"
He'd started to bend over to pick his red coat up when he noticed something. The dice that he'd dropped earlier, still laying on the ground where they'd fallen. They'd made it through the whole thing untouched. Four and a three.
Seven.
"Well, wouldja look at that, Miss Kai," he said with a little chuckle, nodding down to the dice. "A seven. I think Lady Luck really does have somethin' in store for us tonight, don't you?" He gave her a grin and a little wink. A plan started to form in his mind.
She'd yet to pick one of them.
Play my cards right and I can win her, he thought, looking to the beauty that stood next to him. Then he made up his mind. He'd make a gamble. Roll his own dice. Some women liked men that were bold, that took action and were proactive. Asyr would just have to hope Kai was one of them.
"Shine," he said with a look and a nod over to his friend, "I'm real glad you were here tonight. Always fun crackin' heads with you. We can split up now, I think. Need to get that faced looked at. The blood's rugged and all, but I'd hate to see you all swollen up in the morning.
"And as for you, Miss Kai," he turned to her and took a few steps nearer, looking down into her eyes. Roll the dice. "Well, I told you I love a woman that knows how to fight." His voice was softer now. Flirty. Charming. He wanted this woman--wanted her for more reasons than lust, though he would not deny that--and he was going to do everything he could to win her.
With a lone finger, he reached forward and gently smoothed some of her wild hair from in front of her face, tucking it back behind her ear. He smiled warmly at her, chuckling softly. Then he spoke again, dropping his voice further so that only she could hear. "Listen," he said softly. "I've got a warm room and a ship with a spot on a crew just waitin' for you." Of course, the room he spoke of was his own, but he was sure she'd figure that much; the spot on the crew was no lie though. Kai had skills they could defintely use on the Bohemian. "So why don't you come on back with me, hm? Even have some kolto to get that bruise fixed up, though," he leaned in just a little closer, "it doesn't take away from that pretty face. Nothin' ever could.
"And," he went on, still speaking softly as he turned to look down at the dice on the floor, "there's still that seven that Lady Luck was so kind to give us..."
Asyr rolled the dice.
He looked back up to her, looked into her eyes and smiled as he gently put his hands on her side. Then he leaned forward and gently pressed his lips to hers. And if she accepted him, if she let him have that kiss, he'd go further, gently wrapping his strong arms around her in an embrace and hold that kiss until she let go.

Shine watched the row of speeders topple over, each thud making him wince ever so slightly as he glanced back to the slowly stirring bar. Oh well, let's hope the owners are either out cold or too smashed to notice right away. Might end up starting another romp if it came to that. But with any luck, the three of them would be long gone from the bar before it came to that, if it did. After all, it was pretty guaranteed that their friendly game and drinking was done for tonight. At least, at this establishment. Drinks and fun could be still had at another....or in a private dwelling.
Kailani looked none for the better in some regards, her ragged shirt pretty much torn to the point of "just" barely covering the necessities. She face was a little bruised up, but from what he could see, it wasn't that bad. Asyr was the only one who looked to have come from this brawl untouched....a credit to his lifetime of training most likely. Still, Shine wasn't that bad off. His nose had already stopped bleeding, the small amount of blood left on his face starting to harden already. A cold sting over his mouth made him realize his lip had been cut too, on the left side, but it was little more then a paper cut in that regard.
Kailani finally managed to calm herself enough, which wasn't a lot, to tell them of the lot who had been the instigators of this whole thing. An old crewmate, one that obviously had overstayed his welcome too many times. Shine had seen people like that, those who pushed and pushed no matter how many times they were told to stop. Usually ended with someone getting a good hit to the head or tossed. In this case, sounded like the guy got both.
Shine stepped aside, as did Asyr, to let the fuming woman back inside the bar, falling into step with the larger man as they headed back inside. Now that he wasn't making a line for the door to check on her, Shine was able to fully take stock in the damage the chaos had produced. Tables lay broken everywhere, chairs shattered from being dropped on or used as a weapon. People lay in heaps all over the place, some standing, most sitting, several sleeping. Spent bottles of good drinks were shattered all over the floor, along with slippery puddles that Shine took care to avoid. And somehow a guy was hanging from the ceiling....now just how did he get there?
Bars like this were used to such events though. A spit shine here and there, probably a whole new set of furniture and this place would be up by the week's end, ready to serve another round of humble spacers. Shine spit a swirl of blood he'd been rolling in his mouth for a bit onto the head of the Nikto that still lay on the ground from Darius's crew as they came back to their table. The guy was still long out....and Shine liked that he was still breathing. He had no reason to wish them death, not like Kailani might have of she knew them. Besides, it was Darius who was really at fault here; this poor sucker just tagged up with the wrong lout.
Their table, by another miracle Shine was beginning to think was happening way to often in one day, was mostly untouched. True the drinks were spilled and several glasses shattered, but it was more intact then most anything else in the place. And their chips were still there, Shine reaching down to gather a third of it like Kai was doing, giving the remaining amount to Asyr when his share was safely back in his pockets. Good thing most everyone was busy beating the snout out of each other to notice free money just laying there, otherwise they would have all been out of a fair share of money because of those idiots. Just another reason to find the worm and knock his teeth in right?
Aysr took a moment to speak to his friend about Darius and his thugs, which Shine took to retrieve his jacket, slinging it around his shoulders. When Asyr returned with his plan, Shine gave a wide smile, the idea already tugging on his good idea strings. The best defense was a good offense after all...or vice versa. But in this case, good defense via a good offense. Shine nodded in agreement, patting the larger man on the shoulder. "Now that sounds like a good idea mate. And if we're going to play attack, then I have just the friend to bring along. And if you like Ms Kai because she's got some fight in her, you'll love my new copilot." He left it at that though; no point in spoiling the surprise. And if they were going to hit back, Whiskey would be a great tag partner to bring to the party.
He did want to learn more about her and this would be a good chance to see what other tricks she held.
But now he had something else to worry about. Neither Asyr nor Shine had managed to sway the pretty Kai into coming home with them....in fact, it looked like she was beginning to ponder going home on her own. Now, the naughty side of him wanted to ensure that he won that honor. But, if he couldn't win....well, he wasn't going to simply let her go home alone. That was the gentleman side of him taking over. Even if it meant Asyr would take home the prize.....for today.
He had to wait his turn though, as Lady Luck had decided to yield Asyr a powerful card left to play. In the form of the dice that now showed a seven....still untouched from the whole event. Now that was some sour luck if he ever did see it...at least for him. Asyr was quick to jump on the matter...and jump on it he did. Soft words that Shine could not hear, only fold his arms and watch with an eyebrow raised. That damned seven did grant Asyr the right to do what he did next....and Shine could only watch to see if it went through. However long he had to wait, when it was done, he sighed long and deeply, shrugging his shoulders.
"Well that's a bit of a bummer to my charms. How can I compete with lady luck in your corner? Oh right, I remember now."
Calmly, he walked around to Kailani's side and carefully dropped one arm over her, grinning. He shot Asyr a wink, then whispered in her ear lightly. "I'm Corellian...we make our own luck right? I don't need the dice to give me that. So....I've got something that'll touch up those tiny little bruises right quick, a nice bed to sleep on and perhaps some dinner if your hungry after that workout we just had. Or any others we might run into." He'd peck her cheek, the one without the bruise, before whispering one final thing. "And if you thought I put on a good show in public, you should see what I do for a private show."
It wasn't as good as Asyr's, probably not by a long shot. But with the cards available to him, he didn't have much to go on....and to steal a kiss in this situation was bad tact. Or was it. A thought came to mind then.....Asyr didn't know much about his culture. So as far as Asyr knew.....Shine's grin widened and he took a bit of step back from Kai and nodded to Asyr. "But if this is goodbye till tomorrow, I suppose I should say it properly. So Ms Kai, if this is goodbye well I should honor the way we Corellians do it. At least, for members of the opposite gender." As swiftly as any man could be, he brought himself in close to her and like Asyr, planted a light kiss on her lips...one that would turn stronger when he was sure she wasn't against it. And to tip the iceberg, he ran a finger lightly down from her neck to the base of her back, leaning her back just a little. When he finally broke it or she did, he stepped back and nodded to Asyr.
"Gotta love the home traditions. So here, say.....0900? I'm sure you'll be able to get yourself up by then, right Asyr?"

The boiling fury in Kailani's blood had calmed already, a happy grin covered her face as the boys in turn took their credit chips and tucked them away. Her emotions were like that, if something made her happy she was elated, joyful until something brought her down. She lived in a world of peaks and valleys. Middle ground was nonexistant. Asyr already had a plan, and the contacts to work it and Shine seemed all for the idea.
"I'm game, dependin' on what kinda information your boy's got for us tomorrow." Kailani said, wrapping both arms about her chest, eyes flicking back and forth between the two 'suitors'. They had both made impressive displays, both in flirting and fighting. Asyr was a capable fighter, and had a killer body. An eight pack... An eight pack! More than over kill. A living tank. As well, he seemed to be of the same sort of occupational background as herself, and offered a job. Asyr came off charming, and cool. Almost untouchable.
Shine though was more comfortable. A creative rogue, the trick he did with the ice bucket had certainly caught her attention. Quick thinking, sarcastic and clever. And not bad to look at either. There was a lingering sort of attraction. To both of them really. What to do, what to do. Kailani was ready to just call it a night and let 'em both go. If she had been slightly more drunk she might have suggest some private fun... in multiples. But tonight was not the night for such things, plus she had a feeling these guys wouldn't be able to tolerate such a tie. There could only be one winner, or two losers.
And then Asyr noticed the dice. Glancing down at Shine's colored dice Kailani couldn't help but grin. Lady Luck had shown favor once more. Asyr had by all accounts rolled a seven. Though the game had disbanded at this point, it seemed
"I think Lady Luck really does have somethin' in store for us tonight, don't you?" Winking a blue eye at her, she couldn't help but grin.
"Lady Luck is a fantastic whore, though all things considered I think she's been on our side quite a bit tonight. That scuffle could 'ave been a lot worse if I didn't 'ave you two fine gentlemen there ta back me up." Smiling brightly, Kailani stuffed her hands into her pockets, eyes glittering.
"And as for you, Miss Kai," He leaned in closer to her, his voice dropping softly, icy eyes boring into her. "Well, I told you I love a woman that knows how to fight." The Echani's voice had a smooth velvety quality as he spoke, and the single finger he used to tuck her hair behind her ear stoked the fire under her skin.
Sweet offers continued to slip from his pale lips as he seemed to moved closer to her, Kailani could feel the heat of his body near hers. Eyes locking the woman's mind. She couldn't ever remember someone trying quite this hard for her attention, her affections.
" "So why don't you come on back with me, hm? Even have some kolto to get that bruise fixed up, though," His face moved even closer to hers, and the blood pounded beneath her veins. All she could see for a long moment was the blue of his eyes as Asyr finished his thought. "it doesn't take away from that pretty face. Nothin' ever could." Their faces were so close at that point Kailani could hardly concentrate, the alcohol fogging her mind swirling slowing. He spoke of Lady Luck again, a hand gently snaked about her waist and he was upon her.
Kai was almost surprised, almost by the warmth that flooded her as her Asyr's lips meet with hers. It started off as sweet, tender even, he had even gone so far as to embrace her, holding the Corellian woman close. Kailani pressed back into the kiss for a long moment before forcing away, a wide grin spread across her face. The second time was even better.
"Watch yourself, Asyr, you might be gettin' in a little deep 'ere." She said with a smile before turning back to Shine who had been quietly waiting behind them.
"Sorry about that love, you know the rules of the game." She said giving him a flirty wink.
"Well that's a bit of a bummer to my charms. How can I compete with lady luck in your corner? Oh right, I remember now." Shine gave her a devilish grin of his own, stepping up his game as yet another hand wrapped itself around her, drapping across her shoulders Shine leaned close to her face cats eyes gleaming.
"I'm Corellian...we make our own luck right? I don't need the dice to give me that. So....I've got something that'll touch up those tiny little bruises right quick, a nice bed to sleep on and perhaps some dinner if your hungry after that workout we just had. Or any others we might run into." Shivering pleasantly, Kai couldn't help but consider his offer as well. He pressed on. "And if you thought I put on a good show in public, you should see what I do for a private show."
The lips pressed against her fair cheek, and the woman couldn't help but laugh. This attention was too much, it was going to inflate her ego, it would be amazing if she'd be able to fit it through the door, let alone into someones room at this point.
Then the warm smuggler started to speak of a traditional Corellian good bye.
"Huh? What are yo-" The words never left her lips as Shine pounced, his lips meeting with hers as they began to kiss softly, Kai's lips moving against his enjoying the warmth the flooded her system as they two pressed together. They two pulled apart, and once more Kailani was stuck with a dreamy smirk lingering across her lips.
"You boys just don't know how to make it easy on a girl, do ya?" Laughing hard a smile spread wide across her lips she looked back and forth between the two. She bit her lip anxiously, buzzed mind weighing her options. Both were so charming, so mysterious, and even more important, both were drop dead gorgeous.
Strangely enough, she picked what one might call the practical choice... Asyr was by anyones guess, a pirate. A business she had much experience in, and he'd proven himself thus far as sincere in his efforts. It could all be bullsh*t, no doubt, but what was life without a little risk? Plus, the eight pack didn't hurt his chances either.
Slinking her arm about Shine's waist she smiled, pecking him on the cheek. "I'd like to see about this 'job opportunity' of ole pale face's if ya don't mind, love. How about I see you tomorrow, 0900?" She asked, her voice light. There were no hard feelings when one was an active player of the game. Merely wins and losses on the giant scoreboard. The game resetting every night, Kai knew this well.
Turning back to the nights victor, Kailani gave a smirk. "So, you gonna show me this ship of yours before I change my mind, Yevor?"

She accepted him.
He could feel her surprise at first, in a way he couldn't explain, but as he felt her start to ease, felt her supple muscles start to relax and her body begin to press against his, he knew that she wanted what he was giving her. Though Kailani was a rough woman, she was soft. It was a strange thing to notice, but her skin, so pale and creamy, was soft and smooth and good to the touch. He, on the other hand was solid hard, carved from stone.
As she gave over to him, to his kiss, he took her in his arms and held her lightly against him, taking the kiss further now that he knew she'd accepted it. Warmth started to fill him, made his pulse quicken and his spine tingle.
Finally though, it ended. She leaned away from him, smiling up into his eyes with a pleased look on her face. "Mhhm, I can go deeper," he said with a lewd little smile. "But that's just the beginning of what I have for you, Miss Kai." He chuckled and let his arms fall from around her, then whispered into her ear. "But we can save the real fun for later. When we're not in public."
He stepped back with a grin, smoothly sticking his hands into his pockets with an easy wink at Shine. There was no doubt in his mind that the smuggler would try his hand, would give one final attempt to sway Kai his way, but Asyr was certain that he had her. Confident in himself, in the weapons he brought with him in their friendly battle of flirting, some of which Shine just didn't have. But he knew the smuggler had his own weapons. And while Asyr was not scared of losing Kailani to him, he knew that Shine's own skills made him 'dangerous.'
Shine did give one final effort, and Asyr had to give it to the man, it wasn't bad, not at all. If they'd been drinking and going after different women, the Echani would've given a toast to his friend, but as it was, he simply stood quietly and watched, as Shine had done for him. Though, when Shine said something about a traditional Corellian way to leave a woman, Asyr lifted a snowy brow. Lance, the captain of his first crew on the Riptide, had been a Corellian, and as much a ladies' man as any Asyr had ever seen. He'd never heard a word about whatever it was Shine was talking about.
But he didn't mind. Even if what Shine said wasn't all true, he couldn't fault the man for it. It was a smooth move.
When Shine was done with Kailani, she looked at them both, smiling.
"You boys just don't know how to make it easy on a girl, do ya?"
Asyr shrugged slightly and spread his hands, chuckling. "I guess we don't, eh Shine?" he said, looking to the smuggler with a friendly little smirk. But she would choose one of them. He could see her looking between them, weighing and measuring. Who would she take? Both were worthy, more than worthy, but in the end...
"I'd like to see about this 'job opportunity' of ole pale face's if ya don't mind, love. How about I see you tomorrow, 0900?"
Ole pale face? Asyr chuckled. That's a new one.
He'd won. A feeling of pride swelled within and he looked at Kai with an easy smile, nodding to her. Then he turned his gaze to Shine and grinned. "No hard feelings, eh mate?" He stuck his hand out for Shine to shake. He'd played the game damn well. Sometimes you just came up short. It was a fact of life--one Asyr was well acquainted with; he'd won a lot, but he'd been through his fair share of losses too. Never did let it get him down, though. "I'll see ya again in the morning. 0900 it is."
Once he'd shaken Shine's hand, he turned to Kai and smiled at her and kissed her again briefly. "And you, Miss Kai," he whispered softly, sensually into her ear, "won't be disappointed. I have a few big surprises waiting for you on the ship. And I can promise you, it's as good a ride as you'll have ever been on." He let his words, double meaning and all, hang there for moment as he scooped his jacket up off the table and put it back on over his broad shoulders. Finally, he zipped his shirt back up, to the middle of his chest. She'd be seeing his body again soon enough, anyway.
As they split up from the bar and went their separate ways, Asyr with Kai in tow, he looked back, thinking on Luck. He'd never put much stock in luck, believing instead that you made your own way, with your own skills and wit. If he'd had luck, he never would've been exiled from his home. If he'd had luck, he never would have been forced to live on Taris without a home, money or anything to call his own beyond his weapons and the clothes on his back. If he'd had luck, any number of the misfortunes and disasters he'd been through would never have happened to him.
But after tonight, maybe, just maybe, it would be worth it to believe. Who could say?
-----------------------------------
A little while later found him back at the landing pad where the Bohemian rested. She was a good ship. She was home for Asyr. And hopefully, she'd soon be home for Kai.
But there were other things on his mind at the moment.
"Well here we are, Miss Kai," he said, stepping out of the speeder they'd ridden over in. "The Bohemian." He laid an arm around her shoulders and gave her a light kiss on her unbruised cheek. "Welcome aboard."

Considering the way the night had gone, had been going, Kailani accepting the kiss that Asyr gave her did not surprise him. Had it been the first kiss she gave the either of them, maybe, but as it was the second round of lip meet lip for the night. And considering how quickly she had jumped into the first ones.....well. The only thing Shine could do during that moment was sit back, wait, and watch. Okay, not watch the whole time, but kept tabs to see when it ended.
When Asyr was done and his shot came, Shine made as good an effort as Asyr had done. And probably more, with his fingers drawing along tension lines that made most women shudder at the touch to sensitive skin. The skin this time being the center of the back of course, not where too special. That would be something reserved for a more private enclosure should Shine be granted that chance. But by now, there was something tingling in the back of his mind, even as he leaned more into the kiss and she accepted even that. The same kind of tingling he got right before he had to pull a quick move to avoid getting blasted or when he was flying at high speed to avoid danger.
It was his gut telling him that this wasn't going to end as he hoped.
When he and Kai broke from their kiss, her face lit up with the after effects of two powerful kisses, Shine gave her a warm smile and a light chuckle at her following words. He chuckled a little louder wen Asyr added in his words as well, casting the man a friendly smile before shrugging his shoulders and raising his hands to either side. "Of course it wouldn't be easy; that wouldn't make the game any challenge right."
But now it was the moment of truth. Which one of them would walk out of the bar with her on their arm. But when she choose Asyr over him, Shine found that....well, it stung sure, Corellian's like him often had pride that didn't like losing. But he also found that it didn't sting as much as it should have. Had she outright spurned him, like many ladies would have done in this contest and favored purely Asyr in the matter, then perhaps he would have hurt worse. But she had been equal and fair in the whole matter. And thinking on it, thinking on it hard....she was likely a pirate, so was Asyr. So it made sense that a pirate would want to see what another pirate offered, since it required little change to the way they were.
"Nah, I suppose not. I wouldn't want you to have any if I had won, so its only fair. I hope that next time Ms Kailani, that you would honor me with your...." A loud beep from his belt cut Shine off before he could continue, making him raise a hand to silence any possible thing either of them would say to him so he could answer. Placing the device over his ear, Shine keyed the comm and was almost immediately met with a barrage of quick, almost panicking words. He knew the voice, the way he spoke was almost uniform, yet had more life behind it then you would expect of a droid. It was Vis. And something was up back at the Cat.
"Woah woah woah, Vis, relax. What was tha....no, slow down, your blathering and I can't make.....okay Vis, listen. Stop. Power down. Reboot. Speak slower. And for frell's sake, calm down before you blow out my eardrums. Now, what is wrong?"
Shine reached out to take Asyr's hand and shake it firmly(no mean feat considering the strength of the man), nodding to him and responding to Vis with simple "okay's" and "oh's". When Vis finally managed to give him the story, Shine almost smacked his hand to his face in surprise, instead opting to let out a sigh. Of all the things.....Shine knew Whiskey was going in and out at times, as if she suddenly had bursts of emotion that weren't there before....but this matter was something special.
"Okay, alright, I'm on my way back. Yes yes, double time, I hear ya. Just keep her as calm as you can....and try to stay out of arm's reach. Lock the ship too, so she can't go running around like that. Lord knows what trouble she might raise right now. Alright alright, bye Vis." Clicking the comm off, he noticed that Asyr and Kai were slightly looking at him in confusion as they started heading out, Shine quick to follow after them and into the cool night air. He felt he had to explain, at least a little, so he made sure to pat the big man on the shoulder as he passed.
"Well, have a good time showing her around Asyr. I've got a slight problem to take care of now, but I'll see you first thing tomorrow. Ms Kailani, good night to you as well. Try not to play with the throttle of his ship too much, wouldn't want to break it now would we? And remember, 0900. If your late, I"m making you pay 5 credits for every minute, hear me? From both of you. Now hurry up so that you "might" get some sleep in tonight."
He was teasing of course, his way to beating back that slightly hurt pride as he spun and shot off into the night. The fight had taken the energy from him, but he'd gotten his second wind back in the aftermath. And that cold night air was doing wonders for the headache he had got from being nailed in the face twice, and to distill the drinks in his system. By the time he got back to the Cat, panting from lost breath and dripping with sweat, he was 100% clear of any haze whatsoever.
The ramp was already lowering when Shine got there, thudding up the metal to the ship interior. It was quiet....quiet was not what he expected. He made his way through the ship towards the center, the cockpit, back to the rooms...and that's where he found Vis. Watching Whiskey's door like a bloodhound....from behind the table in the galley. Stepping beside him, he glanced down at the little droid, then up to where he was looking. Whiskey's door.
"She's in there now huh? And you said she was...crying? Over...nothing, just out of the blue?" Vis glanced up at him, nodded once, and then drew his eyes back to the door.
"I believe she was simply walking to her cabin when...when she stubbed her toe. And then she just...started crying. And didn't stop this time. It's the third time today this had happened...I mean, while you were out doing whatever it was you were doing. But this one seemed the worst, so I decided that it would be best to let you know, being the Captain and all. I figured you'd want to know if there was something wrong with your crew right away."
"You were right. Thanks for calling me Vis; night was getting boring anyway. Now then, you take cover and I'll see what I can do about our lovely copilot." Shooing Vis off to safety, Shine moved closer to the door and knocked lightly...the door creaking open just a little. With a sigh, Shine politely said Whiskey's name before peeking in to see what would likely keep him busy for a while.

The way Asyr grinned at his victory made a smile twitch at her face, but she held it back. There would be plenty of grinning back and forth between the pair that night. Instead her eyes stayed on Shine as he the disappointment was plainly visible on his face, but he pushed it away. The wounds were small, thin scratches. And he was understanding, as much as a wounded Corellian could be anyways. She knew the feeling of hurt pride, and Shine took it like a man.
"Nah, I suppose not. I wouldn't want you to have any if I had won, so its only fair. I hope that next time Ms Kailani, that you would honor me with your...." Then his com rang. A long string of garbled words hit the air, muffled by Shine’s ear against the receiver. Asyr though didn’t seem too concerned with being polite, whispering in her ear as their friend took stock of the situation on his ship, Kailani merely smiled back, her arm wrapping about the Echani’s warmly.
Ending his call, Shine looked up at them and teased the woman playfully before spinning about and dashing into the night. “See ya in the morning’, Shine. You best worry about bein’ on time yourself!” Her voice shouted out behind him before turning about to Asyr.
“Lead the way, doll.” Gesturing before her, she felt his arm tighten against hers, and the grin she’d been holding back splashed across her face. “I’m eager to see what kind of ride you have to offer.”
They tromped through the Coruscant streets and Kailani, despite her obvious intoxication, was adept at weaving between the people of the city planet’s nightlife. Many of them by this time of night were much clumsier and annoying than she, and to this she’d say “Ah, too be young an’ green again. Stumblin’ over after a couple of shots, how cute.” She quipped halfway through their speeder ride to her fellow party veteran.
Soon though they had arrived before the large sleek ship. The Bohemian was truly a beauty, more so than even the old Hand herself. Whistling lowly, she took a long look over the smooth metal beast. It was a beautiful ship, and she hadn’t even gotten on board. She’d have to inspect it in the morning, that was for sure. So preoccupied with the ship, her eyes slipping over its curves she hardly noticed the gentle brush of lips against her cheek. As it registered slowly Kai looked up, her eyes meeting Asyr’s she smiled brightly, face glowing despite its battered and bruised left side.
“Well then Mr. Yevor, with a ship like this one can assume you’re no everyday smuggler. So tell me, are you and your shipmates more than your average spacer?”

"Aye, Miss Kai, I'm much more than the average spacer," Asyr said with an easy grin and chuckle as he started to lead Kai to the Bohemian. A few easy button presses on a panel of the side of ship and the boarding eased down, inviting them both into the comforting interior of the sleek vessel. "And aye, so's the rest of the crew, but," he looked at her again for a moment slipped his arm gently back around hers to lead her up and into the ship, "I think we can save all that talk for the mornin', don't you?"
A warm, comfortable feeling filled him, made him more loose and relaxed than even he normally was. The thrill of his triumph, no doubt, but that light haze left over from the alcohol didn't hurt either.
As he lead her onto the ship, he was greeted by Buck, who sat at a table looking at something on a datapad. Manifests, no doubt; they were in port to stock on supplies, among other things. Though Asyr was rather surprised to see the big man up so late. Or maybe he was doing something else, who knew?
Whatever he was up to, Buck looked up at the sound of Asyr and Kai coming aboard. For a few moments, his gaze lingered on them, his mind no doubt filled with quips to make about Asyr coming on board with another woman. "Another port, another woman to bring back to your room," he'd remarked when Asyr had been on his way out saying only that he was going out 'to find some fun'.
Well, Buck hadn't been wrong. Not at all.
For now, Buck only nodded at Asyr. "Welcome back, Yevor. Evenin', Miss." Then he went back to reading whatever it was he was looking at on his datapad.
"Hey Buck," Asyr answered with a bit of a grin. He led Kai on through the central part of the ship and turning to the starboard module. Most of the crews' quarters were here, along with his own room. He nearly turned to lead her straight to it, then changed his mind.
Instead, he took her to the utilities area, the large space that served as a bathroom, more or less and untwined his arm from hers to dig around in one of the counters. "Got some kolto for that bruise of yours, Miss Kai. Might as well get that taken care of now and it should clear up just fine by the mornin'." It only took a moment to find the little syringe. Asyr set it on the counter, washed his hands off, took the protective cover from over the needle and turned to her. "Just gonna be a little prick, I promise. Just let the kolto work overnight--as we work overnight," he gave her a little wink and chuckle, "and that face'll be just as perfect as it's ever been."
It was just as he said. The needle was thin, the shot small. Once she indicated she was ready, a light poke was all she'd feel as he gently pressed what little kolto was needed into the bruised cheek.
"There we go." he grinned at her and tossed the used syringe into a waste bin.
Then he led her back out into the hallways and lightly put an arm around her waist. "I'll give you a full tour," he said softly, smoothly. His room was the second to last on the left side of the end of the hall near the showers, so it was a short walk from there to where they'd be spending the night. "But that can wait 'til tomorrow, don't you think?" As they came to the door to his room and it slid open, he brushed his lips against hers again in a kiss, smiling lightly at her. "Have some other things to show you right now, though. A few skills you haven't seen yet." His smile turned to a devilish grin and then they slipped into his room.
There was the sound of something pressing against the door, and then a few minutes later, it opened again.
Asyr leaned back out, once more bare to the waist and with one of his boots missing. He dropped Flitch outside the door, and without another word, disappeared back into his room with the click of the door locking as it closed behind him.
