Bio: Sebastian Diotrephes was born to a single mother, named Hailey Diotrephes, on the planet Thyferra. His father had been a drifter that met Hailey at a club on Sebastian's tropical home world and they quickly fell in love. But after staying only for a few days, Sebastian's father disappeared, never to be heard of again.
Hailey was devastated but her life went on. She continued her job working as the manager of a local bacta mine in her colony near the coast. Soon though she had to take time off of work to take care of her new baby boy, Sebastian. The moment he was born, with his stormy, greyish-blue eyes and sandy brown hair, she knew he was bound to be a powerful individual in the use of the force. She knew because he herself had been a member of the Jedi Order, even attaining the rank of knight before she'd been kicked out of the order for lashing out and maiming her master. The two had gotten in a severe argument because her master wouldn't propose her becoming a Jedi Master to the Council. She'd always been a bit of a free spirit, almost to the point of it becoming a concern to the Jedi Council, but as she had matured and gotten older; more in tune with the light side of the force, she had been able to suppress those feelings more and more. But when her work and dedication had been shattered by her master that she thought she could trust, something in her mind just clicked and she had a sudden out burst of rage, slicing her master's hand clear off in the process. Only later did she realize how much of a mistake that had been. But of course she was banished from the order and retired onto Thyferra.
Sebastian was born and, in a way, was a beacon of light in the pit of darkness that had enveloped her life as a result of so many tragedies. The two enjoyed a very simple early existence. Sebastian went to the small Public school of maybe 35 or so kids and learned how to read and write like all kids. He loved his early life, with his mom working a management position and through methods he hadn't quite understand, Hailey was able to convince others to take her shift on certain days so that she could enjoy them with Sebastian. They had a 1 story house
right on the coast so every morning he would wake up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore and the subtle smell of sea salt drifting throughout the house. Life was perfect.
However around his 5th birthday, things started to get weird. While her mom had most of the time been the one to go to the beach or see the newest movie at the Holo-Cinema, she began to take on a more serious mood all of the time. On weekends she made Sebastian sit down and try to learn about some powerful force that kept the entire galaxy in balance. It was boring mumbo jumbo most of the time, but one night, when wondering about it in his bed, he extended his hand toward his end table and with great concentration, he skittered the coaster his glass of water closer to him, only a distance of maybe a few inches, but it astounded him. It was incredible, he imagined the innumerable possibilities that this 'force' held, but then he abruptly fell asleep for his effort had exhausted him. He told his mom about the experiance the next morning, and the resulting expression was hard to read, something Sebastian was usually good at. A look of both excitement and slight worry struck her visage. She was super happy that Sebastian had displayed the ability, but she was hoping, for their future's sake, that he wouldn't become powerful enough to where it would only be responsible for her to send him off to the Jedi Council.
She knew she had about a year before she had to send her son off and so she spent that year spending great quality time with Sebastian, but also much time learning about Jedi Philosophies and the Force, most of which was still uninteresting to Sebastian. However when she broke out her lightsaber, Sebastian was in awe. He couldn't grasp his mind on how a weapon like that should even be possible, but he ad held one and done some basic training with one so he was assured. It was easily the best year of his life; the idea of going off to The huge City planet of Coruscant excited him, he was going to get his own lightsaber, like his mom. He was going to be able to lift whole couches and refrigerators with only the flick of a wrist, like his mom. He's be smart and wise, like his mom, but the more he though about it, the scarier the idea got. And then the day came, the day he had been looking forward to for such a long time. The year went by so quick and the morning that the Jedi Master arrived at his front door, he fought back the urge to break out into tears.
He said one last goodbye, knowing very well that he might never see his mother again. He hugged his mom tight and as the master, a tall dark skinned gentleman, went to wait in the shuttle, Sebastian's mom sneaked her green lightsaber, intricately designed with many ornamental designs and grooves, into one of the pockets inside the many layers of the boys clothes. She stressed how important the saber was to her, and made him promise that he would return to her one day. He smiled and waved goodbye as he hurried off to the shuttle.
Arrival on Coruscant was one of the most exhilarating experiences of Sebastian's life thus far. The endless sea of sky scrapers and the constant buzz of speeders cruising overhead was a far different setting than anything he'd experienced at his paradisaical beach home on the quiet beaches of Thyferra.
