Ranks? Awards? Benifits? Commendations?

I'm not sure if we did, and if we did than I can't remember but did we ever post anything about the Military ranks available and the benifits towards advancing in the Military of either sides?

Being in the military will play an important role during the span of this RP especially later on and I think that the members of such militaries should get medals, ranks, and commendations as they go through thier career (as I'm sure everyone one will agree).

If someone creates a character who advances to the rank of private in his bio and goes through like six major conflicts, and gets 612 kills, then I think maybe he should get at least an ice cold tankard of jawa juice (made only from fresh squeezed Jawas, of course).

Perhaps someone will take on the duty of creating such a thing? or maybe just redirect me to such a thread or discussion, as I cannot seem to find one.

I agree whole-heartedly. Being a Jedi or a Sith has it's own rewards as does smuggling (money!) but being in the military as it stands right now seems like it lacks something that would motivate people to want to swing that direction. The promise of being able to go up in ranks and achieve a military reputation of sorts sounds like a good way to go. It means a lot to someone to get that pat on the back that says "Great going, you managed to do some pretty amazing stuff back there". I think awards and ranks would be perfect. Maybe even, as an RPer proves themselves capable of handling such things responsibly through previous good RPing, they could be granted underlings. Mods could say that with a certain rank comes a certain number of people who the character now has authority over. The person in question could either call in these reinforcements during battles or the mods could allow for them to be used in the backgrounds of certain events to boost the character's chances of success.

I don't know, but it's a thought.

Well we need People in the right positions first, not unlike the grand master, in the military sections. So like a Surface marshal, or some other top ranking brass to hand out commendations if a member manages to do something amazing.

Were not going to get anyone to be an old man/woman unless their is some kind of buff though. With jedi council grand master they have amazing force powers and/or incredible lightsaber technique, you get what I mean

their won't be much for jedi, dark jedi, or fringers to do if we don't have military types to throw kinks in the works and move events on.

Maybe we should give high rankers some NPC's to use, I mean come on, Jedi's get the force, which in my opinion can be just as abusable as some NPC troops

Well seeing as I like the rewards Idea if you want I can begin work on a high ranking officer for the military section of rp. Depending on the force is up to you guys but if you want military I am up for the leading challenge of rping one since it will give me training in mind for the Navy OCS training I will be getting later. And I do agree something needs to be done for rewards towards military rpers since they will most likely be the bulk of posts in a war zone type setting. I mean I know I will be posting with them for Shawn since he ain't in the order anymore but more freelance now with a Padawan but I am willing to run one of the commanding officers to oversee the prompt give out of rewards/punishment for actions in combat.

Now that I'm active again, expect my Military Spec ops group to go live in the next week. Zarkan has already agreed to have him ex-mil character make a comeback in the group, but we still need one more. After that, the republic will have a small group to create those 'kinks' with.

For skimish settings, those in command can always NPC their troops / ships in action, playing a whole company instead of just the guy in control. Only thing is we will have to observe that no one abuses this or godmodes from it.

I am actually working on a spec ops character right now, Halmtier.

About the high ranking military character: You would actually need two each for the republic/sith (One for the Army and the other for the Navy) and the NPCs that he/she would have attached to him/her would be like a body guard detail that a dark/light jedi, bounty hunter, or military unit would have to fight through to reach the General/FADM.

I would be willing to do a Sith FADM if y'all need some one to do it, I love typing out naval battles (well, I guess I would mostly be making reactions, but it is basically the same thing.) (made a Star Wars/Halo fan fiction that is mostly Ship to Ship combat.)

(I <briefly> looked around the site and did not really find anything like this idea, but most if not all military RPs have this set-up)

About the military RP in general: For the Army/Navy Pilots you almost need a Platoon/Company(Army) or a Squadron(Navy) to focus around. For example the Republican Company that SWU follows would be Delta company and their missions, and the Republican Squadron would be the Black Sheep.

I have a list of the structure of an army (for the USMC, but I could easily get one for the army. Yes, it is different.) if y'all need it I can easily give it to you.

One would think that Several Starships for any Admiral, plus a fleet, or several Regiments for Surface Command would be buff enough
