Name: Vasser Liel
Race: Human
Age: 22
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 182 lbs
Appearance:
Vasser is, by all means, of exceptional height; and moreover, his weight is average for his body type, thus making him of an average build. Vasser is neither burly strong or a skinny twig, but his weight and height coincident provide for a fluid and easy fighting style and maneuverability in battle. He can be quick on his feet, and can also pull some power into his arms. He does, from time to time, wear black-rimmed, round glasses that are small but large enough for his own eyes. Rarely does he wear these aside from when reading, thus does not commonly carry them around with him. His hair is a wild, bushy green mess that is clean but never taken care of otherwise, and his eyes are a deep red.
Instead of the common Jedi robes, Vasser wears a tight-fitting, black leather flight suit and jacket as opposed to the device commonly worn by pilots. His getup is an interesting one to say the least, but it pleases Vasser, and it is more comfortable to him than the Jedi robes. His jacket is folded in the front, almost like a blazer, and comes down with a zipper, and holds the insignia of the Jedi Order towards the bottom. His pants are not flashy or eye-catching; but instead, they are tight black leather pants that fall into black leather boots; slick, shiny, and quiet, and it is all Vasser needs.
Personality:
Those who have met Vasser only have one thing to say about him: he is one of the laziest people they know, and Vasser has done well to earn that title. While he does excel in the Order in terms of book smarts and Force proficiency, Vasser is one of the laziest, most careless Jedi the Order has to offer. Because of this, he is rarely given a mission, and is most often found sleeping. His laziness is his most prominent personality trait, and often turns his friends and peers off towards him.
Despite the fact that he is lazy, Vasser is extraordinarily intelligent in terms of book smarts. While he may not be the wisest philosopher around (especially since he really doesn't care enough to devote his time to studying the Force more in depth) he is most exceptionally intelligent. Unfortunately, because of his lazy-as-hell demeanor, Vasser often hides his extreme intellect from all others, especially since he doesn't want to come across as arrogant. Vasser is most especially an out of the box thinker, and has never let a situation arise where he could not use his brain to slip out of. He thinks hundreds of steps ahead.
Vasser is very socially... awkward. Actually, a more appropriate word would be unacceptable. Unfortunately, Vasser would rather find some roof to sleep on than go help the Jedi, which sometimes convinces the Order that Vasser isn't as adept as they once thought; however, this has never bothered Vasser, as he honestly doesn't care very much what people think of him. He snores loudly in his sleep, scratches himself in his sleep, and mumbles in his sleep. This wouldn't be much of a problem... except that Vasser is found sleeping nine times out of ten when found in the first place.he hides himself well when he wants to take a roof and have a nap. Vasser is especially prone to sleeping on the job, especially, which is also why the Order has been hesitant to assign him to do anything.
To sum it up, Vasser is...

Birth place: Dantooine
Faction: Jedi
Rank: Knight - Consular
Bio:
Unlike mostheroeszeroes, Vasser was born fairly normally. His parents, patient, loving farmers from Dantooine, had Vasser and only Vasser, allowing his being an only child to be the primary reason why he got so much attention. Of course, the job of a farmer demanded both hard work and patience, both of which played a key role in Vasser being born and raised. His mother was a tall, slender, beautiful, hard-working woman with a particular keenness for perseverance and determination, a serene foil of Vasser's kind, wise, and equally lazy father.
One of his parents-- the father-- had been a Jedi and had left the Order on good terms to settle down with a woman, but remained on the planet near the enclave. Like Vasser is now, his father had been a lazy, almost good-for-nothing Jedi Knight who never made the rank of master because of the supreme laziness. Naturally, this trait was transported clearly into Vasser, and may have even been done so such that Vasser retained more of that particular laziness than his father.
When he was born, Vasser had a cute chubby face, wild and bushy green hair, and deep red eyes that reflected the friendly and intriguing person Vasser was and always had been. The boy was raised with as much love and care as any other young boy would have been; however, his mother, determined that the boy would surely be a potent Force-user that would both outmatch and outrank his father, saw to it that Vasser be tested as soon as possible.
Therefore, as Vasser grew, his mother kept an ever-keen eye on his development as person; to her surprise, however, Vasser seemed to be much like his father, thus creating a special bond between them. Vasser, alongside his father, often slept late into the day, snored from early on, and played games like chess (or the SW equivalent of chess xD) or things of the like instead of doing his household chores.
His mother, caring but disappointed, seemed to let Vasser fall in line with his father's footsteps, who was, against his mother's wishes, the one that determined Vasser was Force-sensitive. The boy's father was subtle in doing so, such that Vasser would not detect the process, as he had already delved into the path of intelligence and perception that his father had laid out. Vasser's father noted an extreme and uncommon amount of patience in the young child; one that, most importantly, was so uncommon that it allowed Vasser to not only go days without speaking and simply listen, but also sit in the vast fields of Dantooine for hours upon hours without becoming bored.
It was indeed a subtle hint; one that, had his father not been such a lazy and patient person himself, probably would have never been picked up to begin with. Instead of waiting to see how the young life of Vasser would turn out, his father returned to the enclave with Vasser to be tested by the Council in order to determine whether or not Vasser would be allowed entrance.
Naturally, after being brought, Vasser was accepted with an uncanny eagerness, almost as if the Council itself hoped for a more potent Jedi with far more potential than Vasser's father had ever had. The boy's father had never been one to take offense, just like his son, and had thereafter left him at the academy to train, beginning at age six.
In the endeavors of the Council to provide for Vasser the most profitable educational environment possible, Vasser had proven to them that he had more intellectual potential than his father had had in his age in the Academy. Of course, it wasn't like Vasser could pass any test a child could pass, but he was indeed overly intelligent for his age; in fact, the academic scores Vasser showed completely contrasted his common laziness, thus allowing the Council to realize that while this boy had the same amount of laziness the father had, he had also inherited the intelligence of the father, and even at such a young age, had shown it clearly.
Shortly after his first few years at the Academy, Vasser's academic ability soared, placing him the top of his class in educational standards. Of course, the other younglings far outranked him in lightsaber in Force ability; indeed, Vasser, in these regards, was only average at best, if not maybe a bit above in Force-using categories, but nonetheless, Vasser was nothing special in combat training, but had indeed proven himself worthy in all other aspects.
In his lightsaber practice especially, Vasser was lower than mediocre. His ability to wield a lightsaber wasn't necessarily lacking; indeed, it was more his common laziness that would impede his potential to become better physically. Vasser is and always had been too lazy to try and better himself in fields that he was not proficient; thus, he continued to suck with the lightsaber and excel in Force-use.
Fortunately for the youngling, there were Masters who had taken kindly to his comical and lazy attitude; ones that praised Vasser for his Force proficiency; and while he was never so good with a lightsaber-- in fact, fairly clumsy-- he had shown a Master or two that he was capable of the Force, and thus had been a bright contrast to the Younglings of his generation that were more apt to swing a lightsaber than solve things via the Force.
One such master-- or more accurately, Jedi Knight-- was named Rene Cale, a highly prominent Jedi Consular for his ability to solve things diplomatically and with subtle Force use as opposed to the brutality of a lightsaber. The fortunate thing about Master Rene was that he was equally as lazy as Vasser, if not more so, thus he took a particular liking to Vasser's lazy demeanor, and often laughed with the child during his training.
The two, even before Vasser's graduation, had grown and created a friendly and understanding bond that Rene had not known to share with a youngling until he had met Vasser. In fact, after a discussion about philosophy or some other, Rene found out that Vasser had a father who had left the Order on good terms; moreover, Vasser's father and Rene had gone on missions together at one point, which drew Rene in closer to Vasser with an eager desire to learn more about him, to see if he was as intelligent as his father... and just as lazy. Quickly, Master Rene's suspicions were confirmed.
At age twelve, the age of apprenticeship, Vasser had graduated from the Youngling stage without ever leaving the position as the top of his class in academics. The other students, of course, had mocked him for his lacking ability in the arts of the Jedi, but none could help but revere him for his incredibly powerful knowledge levels and potential to learn, and none would ever be able to do anything but that for the rest of his life.
It was of course, at this time, that Vasser needed a master in order to prolong his life as a Jedi, and to be given the title of master. Eagerly jumping at the chance with enough enthusiasm to counter his laziness, Master Rene humbly requested that he train Vasser to become a Jedi Consular and learn the more in-depths of the Force. The Council, having known that Rene was just as lazy as Vasser, derisively accepted, and thereafter Master Rene Cale became the master of Vasser Liel.
In his early years of training, Vasser and Master Rene accepted the more diplomatic-type missions that involved less use of Force and more use of negotiations. Such missions, as Rene had intended, provided Vasser with the opportunity to expand his mind rather than his trigger-happiness, and this pleased the still-young Vasser. He and Rene rarely went on (though they did a few, such as the time that Rene will recollect in which he and Vasser traveled to Coruscant to eliminate a cantina-robbing, dancer-killing savage... though that's another story entirely) combat-based missions, and the Council was wise in their decision to provide the two-man cell with missions that were more suited for a Consular and his pupil.
In these times, Vasser's Force proficiency grew, he learned, his mind expanded out of the box, and... his ability with a lightsaber remained mediocre. There was one mission in particular that Vasser considered a milestone in his Padawan life, and it was when he and Rene traveled to Alderaan to solve a political issue in the City Terrarium, in which a Communist-like group was planning to overthrow the City government and continue to the Capital to overthrow the monarchy.
Vasser and Rene, having been sent due to their pacifism, laziness to draw blades, and out-of-the-box thinking, saw to this problem with a particular perseverance not commonly seen in the type of Jedi they were. Instead of ditching the mission to sleep, the two sought after it with all eagerness, so as to further themselves as keepers of the peace... and, well, more so in order to maintain Alderaan as safe and politically stable as it was.
Rene, having decided to take this mission as a priority of his own in order to protect his Padawan from the possibility of an early revolt, met with the Commie (bear with me, it was a great idea composed between ideas between Karl, Sporky, and myself ;D) leader to discuss the terms necessary to have the rebellious group to step down and refrain from their revolt.
Rene, having exhausted his plausible reasons for such a task by the group, had almost come to the point where he would have had to draw blades and dispose of the group right there. Fortunately for him (and more so for Vasser, as this was the reason it became a milestone to him), Rene's Padawan entered the chamber without permission and began to bring forth new ideas, independent of his master's wishes.
Vasser, having listened to the entire debate from outside, had posed the possibility of the revolt failing in more ways than one: There was, as he had recalled, the fact that the Alderaanian government would be on the defense and ready to strike against the Commies with enough ease to wipe them off the face of the planet with little effort, if the revolt had failed. There was, as he had continued, the possibility of referring the news the the Capital directly before the revolt could mobilize, such that the Government would restrain the Commies and their group in Terrarium City so they could not leave. Finally, Vasser had suggested that there was the immediate possibility of-- even if the Commies had succeeded in their governmental overthrow, the people could easily revolt as they had and overthrow the Communist-type government.
Vasser had gone on to describe to the group that he would pay for them to leave peacefully, else he would report to the Capital and have them all executed. The group disbanded and left peacefully, accepting the money, and the mission had been accomplished by the sole efforts and thinking-beyond-the-steps of a still-young Vasser Liel, padawan to a great Jedi mind. This mission had taught Vasser that it was possible to overcome any situation with one's mind, thus deepening his connection and understanding of the Force and its workings.
The two trained and ventured together for ten years, never failing a single mission despite the shared laziness and carelessness between them. By this point, Vasser had aged to a young stature of 22 years old; moreover, it was time for Vasser to begin his Trials to become a Jedi Knight, and the likelihood of Vasser falling into the shoes of his father as a Jedi Consular was extraordinarily high.
Seemingly ready for this, Vasser's master brought him before the Council and had him begin the trials; the first part of Vasser's Knighthood, and the last part of his training with Rene. The melancholy situation of Vasser's master finally leaving him for good almost upset the young man at this point; however, he chose to neglect his emotional feelings and turn instead to his Trials, where he expected to pass each one with ease and move on to become a fully-fledged Jedi and leave Dantooine.
Unfortunately, Vasser's Trials did not come with such an expected ease; in fact, they had proven to be more difficult than the young man had imagined to begin with. Vasser was forced to meditate in a chamber with a simulated storm and, using solely the Force, construct his own Lightsaber. Fortunately, this was one of the easier tests for Vasser on account of his laziness and extreme patience. With an almost eerie ease (and only with this test), Vasser passed; and not only that, Vasser had, in the process, created his first lightsaber with a bright green blade.
On his second test, though it was particularly fit for those like Vasser who did not excel in the ways of the blade, caused such a struggle for Vasser that his laziness almost impeded to the point that he had decided to give up. Luckily, he was able to push through and pass. The test itself was a mere simulation in the Trials chamber that was a mission set for Vasser to-- on his own-- retrieve a holocron from deep within a simulated gangster holdout on Nar Shaddaa. Vasser, while he was lazy indeed, decided to push through the troublesome task of retrieving the holocron and do so to the best of his ability.
This push for excellence caused Vasser to be tested to his absolute extreme; to be tested to such a point that he had almost lost his life in the simulation: the gangster boss that had held the holocron was a potent Vibroblade wielder that had more than anything given Vasser a run for his money. Though the fight was intense, Vasser eventually came out on top, and retrieved the holocron in a more exhausted state than the young man had ever been in his entire life. If one was to ask Vasser his most difficult Trial, he would undoubtedly say that it was the Trial of Courage.
His next test was, of course, the Flesh; and, having been attached to his master for years before his Padawan training, the Council saw it fit to have them depart: Vasser to continue his walk, and the Knight to become a Master. Vasser passed this Trial in tears and emotional distress, but was able to see it through to the end with no real damage other than the temporary distress of losing one so close.
After his distraught of losing his beloved friend and teacher, Vasser quietly disappeared to meditate, which had been dictated as his Trial of Insight, though he was not originally informed of this; indeed, it was more a personal experience by all means than something set up by the Council. Vasser retreated to a chamber where he began to meditate on his own; however, the fact that there was no master present worried the Council, but they did, in the long run, decide that it was for the better to leave Vasser as was.
Thus, the young man dove into a meditation deeper than even he had ventured before; that is to say that Vasser dug into his psyche so far that he discovered unreached feelings in himself that were nothing but detrimental to his walk as a Jedi; feelings of love and attraction to women which he had met, feelings of attachment to his parents that would lead to-- more than anything-- a distracted walk on the path of Light, the feelings he held for his Master, and most importantly, a Vasser in the future that had failed his Jedi life and returned to the estate with his parents before he had...
Shortly thereafter, Vasser had awoken; furthermore, he had seen all that needed to be seen to calm himself, and had decided that the stress that had befallen him only days before must be turned around, else he would fail out of the Jedi life and become scum that even his loving father would detest. After venturing back to the Council to inform them of his meditations, Vasser was surprised to hear that he had passed, and only had one single Trial remaining to become a Jedi Knight.
Vasser was immediately brought to the Trials chamber, where another simulation was presented to him in which he would face a group of Dark Jedi and concentrate through the Force to determine which among the Dark Jedi held no malicious intentions and was indeed a Jedi. Vasser used his Force-augmented concentration to delve deep into the minds of the Dark Jedi before him to decipher their ulterior motives and thought processes in order to determine their real disposition and intent. After remaining in the chamber for a few hours, Vasser emerged victoriously, having deciphered the Jedi amongst the Dark Jedi.
After the passing of his Trials, Vasser became a Jedi Consular like his father and proceeded to make his permanent residence within the Enclave. However, since he was lazy, poor at combat, and really only good for his intellect, Vasser's missions-- whilst few-- generally only consisted of exploring, making diplomatic peace, and et cetera.

The day had an eerie quietness about it, though Vasser was-- naturally-- unable to detect that. The young Jedi Knight, after having been dismissed for the day with no missions, chose to relax this afternoon; which was common of him, of course; and spend the entirety of his afternoon and evening sleeping on the roof of his family's home.
The sun had dipped into the sky, casting an almost-harsh yellow glow on the fields of billowing grass, indicating that it was near sunset, and probably late afternoon. Unfortunately, Vasser Liel didn't care enough to same his fatigue for the nighttime when he was tired; in fact, the young man was, more or less, an exceptionally tired man throughout the day, be he on a mission or elsewhere.
Loudly, he snored and rolled over in his sleep. His mouth gaped open as a bit of drool fell from the corner of his mouth, traveling quietly and quickly down his chin like a raindrop on a window. He mumbled loudly, something of nonsense about his mission on Nar Shaddaa, and turned over again. He was indeed a heavy sleeper.
Absentmindedly, or more because he was asleep, Vasser scratched his butt and snored again, disrupting some of the kath hounds on the other side of the field. Their heads reared up and then came slowly back down with a graceful drop; noticeably, they paid no heed to Vasser, almost as if they knew the young, lazy Jedi wouldn't do anything about them being disturbed anyway. He didn't care enough.
Hours passed, and snores filled the air on the roof of his family's estate. The sun finally sunk past the horizon, taking the yellow glow with it in exchange for a deeper blue one. Dusk had fallen, Vasser's favorite time of the day, and thus he awoke from his sleep and wiped the hours from his eyes. He tested his mouth, opening and closing it sleepily, and then finally yawned heavily (which was common of him as well) and propped himself up on an elbow. In his endeavors, his lightsaber had fallen from his belt and had landed softly on the patch of grass below him. Sighing and rolling his eyes, Vasser leaped from the roof with Force-augmented speed and jumping, and landed gracefully in the grass. The Jedi lazily picked up his hilt, and then he thought about it as he gazed upon its scratches and battle scars... Well, they were more from him dropping it, but Vasser liked to pretend they were battle scars.
This weapon; or tool, rather; was to be a Jedi's life; everything that encompassed that lightsaber should be present in the Jedi, and thus the Jedi should never lose such a valuable tool. It was like a doctor losing his mind, or a politician losing spunk. Vasser tilted his head and turned the hilt, examining it for all of its features. That tool of his, crafted as part of his trial of skill, had been with him through thick and thin... which of course really meant through high and low, literally.
Dismissing the thoughts from his mind, Vasser sighed and attached the saber to his belt. He rolled his eyes and yawned, and proceeded to his room for the night, where he would sleep until noon the next day... unless he had a mission. Vasser considered this, then dismissed that thought too: the Jedi would surely not give HIM, of ALL people, a mission.
