Faction Name: 4th BGD, 273rd SFD (4th Brigade, 273rd Special Forces Division)
Faction Purpose: To serve as the Republic's first responders in any war-front determined by a common enemy. To successfully Recon enemy bases, encampments, and establishments. To rescue allied Prisoners of War. To partake in priority missions in which a large force is at a disadvantage. To preserve and protect the people of the Republic, their rights, and their freedom.

Military assets:
- 273rd works closely with agents within the Republic Intelligence Bureau. Whatever information is confirmed, the Special Force Units are the reaction teams designated to confront it. As a legitimate Republic Military Division, 273rd has access to a variety of military ground vehicles. The majority of the motor-pools within 273rd are formed with various speeder-bikes and small land speeders meant to keep squads concealed and less visible. 273rd also maintains a small air strip for designated Air Speeders and Drop ships used to deploy troops and engage larger units. When it comes to long distance or orbital deployment, 273rd relies on the Navy Branch to transport the Division's assets for operations in foreign territories.
Chain of Command
The standards within the 273rd Special Forces division do not waver much from standard Republic Policies that have been set in stone for eons. While the rank structures remain relatively the same, the roles in which each plays may vary from standard military procedure.
Lower enlisted - PV1 through SPC - Carry out mission objectives ordered by their squad leaders, and aspire to become the next generation of leaders in today's military.
Non-Commissioned Officer:
Corporal/Sergeant - Trains, Leads, and takes care of soldiers at a squad level. Promotions are done through boards, in which questions regarding knowledge of the soldiers under them, combat experience, and military knowledge come into play.
Staff Sergeant/Sergeant First Class: Works Closely with Master Sergeants and First Sergeants. Coordinates and administers orders to Corporal's and Sergeant's at the Platoon level
Master Sergeant/First Sergeant: Works closely with the Command Sergeant Major, and coordinates and administers orders to the Staff Sergeant's and Sergeant First Classes at the Company Level
Sergeant Major/Command Sergeant Major: Works Closely with the Lt. Colonel and coordinates and administers orders to the Master Sergeant's and First Sergeant's at the Battalion level.
Commissioned Officer: 2nd Lieutenant through Colonel
2nd Lieutenant/1st Lieutenant serves at the Platoon level, and documents important information regarding the aftermath of soldiers in training. They also are responsible for the details surrounding Mission Briefings and the documents that are related as such.
Captain: Commands at the Company level, and is often referred to as the Company Commander. They enforce policies and coordinate intel into battle strategies before handing it to the Master Sergeant/First Sergeant.
Lt. Colonel/Colonel: Works at the Battalion level, and coordinates with the Sergeant Major/Command Sergeant Major. Retains a high level security clearance within the Republic Intelligence Bureau and coordinates with lead agents in order to take intel and come up with a plan of action
Brigadier General and above: Works with the Republic Intelligence Agency's Executive and retains the highest level of Command. They coordinate with subordinates via Brigade Level.

The Brigade was established in 3682 BBY at the emergence of the Great Galactic War. 4th Brigade held under it specialized Divisions which trained and utilized soldiers in extreme areas of expertise. One such Division was 273rd, which worked closely with Republic Intelligence Operatives in order to be able to effectively navigate the battlefield in small groups. 273rd SFD served initially as a Recon and Rescue Division, and held responsibility in surveying enemy territory and extracting incarcerated POW's. They quickly earned their reputation and played a vital role in the turning point of the war over it's 28 year Campaign. The Division, to this day, prides itself in being an inclusive support movement during the Tingle Arm Campaign and during the First stages of the Battle at Bothawui. Their unit patch is a red Republic Shield Emblem with 2 stripes centered vertically down each wing, and a symbol of a Ranphyx head. The emblem of course, represented the unit's loyalty to the Republic, the two stripes represent the Tingle Arm and Bothawui Campaigns, and the Ranphyx head represents comradery, and the benefits of working in a small team, and the Brigade's motto.

Tingle Arm Campaign
Tingle Arm would serve as the first encounter with an enemy long thought extinct, and become the first step toward wide-spread war throughout the galaxy for the next 28 years. The Republic, in it's own ignorance utilized much of its resources in an attempt to retake the region, but were met with surprising resistance. In a last ditch effort the military called upon every naval fleet to counter the assault, leaving other regions undefended. 273rd was tasked as a police force back on Korriban following the battle that would eventually take place. When the Sith assaulted the planet with intentions to reclaim their homeworld, 273rd worked with Jedi Consorts to ensure items of integral value remained away from Sith control.
Battle of Bothawui
While the unit was not directly involved with the conflict, a number of their soldiers had been attached to the units currently deployed within the vicinity to serve as scouts. Following the first conflict, 273rd's troops offered invaluable detail that did it's part in turning the tables. The short victory ended in extenuating losses as the Empire pushed for a second assault. Along with countless other brave heroes, 273rds Special Force Units held their ground to the bitter end. Sacrificing their lives on the idea of a free Republic. This recount of the past has stood as a legacy for future Troops in the Special Forces Division. 273rd's soldiers stood at the forefront of a losing battle, coining the Brigade Motto "Spearhead"

273rd has sense then expanded it's responsibilities in Recon and Recovery into the nature of unconventional warfare. Where a deployment of troops would be considered a tactical disadvantage. They continue to train hard and fervently, ready at all times to face the next enemy that seeks to challenge the way of life for the Republic.
