Cloax's appearance is considered as a well built human male with shoulder length black hair and dark brown eyes. His skin is light brown with some battle and torture wounds. The influence of the dark side has caused his eyes to gain a bright red ring around them, which for the most part aren't seen unless Cloax is in battle. Since his departure from the Dark Jedi faction he was in, he donned a dark green cloak, with flexible body armor, that covers his upper body and legs, that he created himself at his farm. Prologue of a prophet
As a baby, Cloax was found on a farming field on the planet Lorrd by a man named Martiz Zenotite who owned the farm. He was a decent and kind man around the age of 40 that was easily distinguished from the Lorrdians of the land who weren’t deemed as pure human. Martiz was a philosopher who studied and researched the balance between the Light side and the infamous Dark side. His origin came from Tatooine, and because of his studies he was exiled from the Republic and sought by the rising Sith Empire. Because he wasn’t interested in either of the two, he escaped to Lorrd where he would be able to continue his research in secrecy. He would become Cloax's adoptive father and raise him as his own. He named Cloax after his grandfather, who urged Martiz to write about his philosophy. He taught Cloax the many things that he came to understand about the concept of Light and Dark and how its influences change the galaxy. Even at a young age, the philosophy of Martiz Zenotite would mold Cloax's life as it stood in the balance.
At 10, Cloax was very smart for his age. He was home schooled by his father Martiz every day, who held strict rules in his household which wouldn't allow him to interact with any kids his age or even see them for long periods of time. In his free time, Cloax would read his father's studies which would cause him to gain a warped point of view of how the universe was seen. He started to believe that anyone and anything that inhabited the universe should pick a side of either goodness or darkness. He felt that a dominating side would rule the galaxy someday, and that those in between would be left behind. With this notion he believed that if everyone in the galaxy chose a side instead of being in between, it would speed up nature's process of what his father called Galactic Arbitration. This was the philosophy that the Force had the intent of controlling all things in one way, but eventually its inhabitants had discovered two types which were Light and Dark.
Martiz also believed in the notion that equilibrium or neutrality of these forces results in war and death, causing strife all over the galaxy. Cloax was bound to the ideas of his father, eventually understanding that he himself didn't know which path he had chosen. He was constantly in conflict with what side he should choose and as his mind journeyed for a solution, his father obliviously ignored his adopted son who started to change due to his immense identity struggle.
One day, Martiz returned to the farm from a nearby town where he intended to collect a couple of items that he needed. He brought back a book on the achievements of the Jedi Order that he seemed very cautious with. At this point in time, books about the Jedi were hard to come across once the Sith Empire ruled parts of the Northeast Quadrant of the galaxy which made this book especially dangerous. Martiz intended to read the book to further his studies, but before he got a chance to read it Cloax had taken it. Because he was sheltered, Cloax never heard much about the Jedi or Sith orders as they were like a fantasy to him. Martiz didn't want Cloax to involve himself with anything in the outside world since he knew the dangers that it held.
As Cloax read the book, he came to understand that the Jedi order were guardians of the Light side of the force that destroyed evil in the form of the Sith who were loyal to the Dark side. As Cloax read upon mankind's manifestations of the two sides of the force, Cloax became even more confused on what side he would join. He turned to the last page of the book, noticing a Sith lord lying on the ground in a pool of blood at the hands of a Jedi master. The book had expressed a deep hatred for the Dark side and the people who followed it. The galaxy's inhabitants who were neutral weren't too fond of the followers of the Dark side, as they believed that they were aggressive and violent in their ways. He learned of multiple planets full of neutral forces that all sided with the good forces yet dabbled with the Dark side as long as either side met their needs. The sneaky indecisive nature of the neutral parties bothered him, causing him to finally reach a conclusion.
And the Dark Rises
Upon walking into the dining room of his house, Cloax sat at the dining table as Martiz prepared his food. He suddenly brought up a question.
"Father, which side do you most associate yourself with?" He asked as Martiz looked back at him with a curious look. With a smirk he replied.
"Well I guess neither since I don’t seem to associate with either side. I don't think sides are truly important though." While Martiz had been pretty serious about his answer, he didn't seem to notice that Cloax's question was also serious. Cloax was amazed that his father's decisions had been contradicting his own writings.
"But your Galactic Arbitration theory seemed to be so detailed and yet you don't choose a side?" Cloax said as he expressed a large concern for his father's lack of self-loyalty. Martiz himself had now stopped preparing his own food, wondering why Cloax was asking these sudden questions.
"My writings did contain such a theory in large detail, yet this theory isn't something that I must follow myself. I showcase these opinions so people can think about them, but whether people want to follow them is their choice. My writings are controversial; therefore I doubt I'll get any message across. Writing these ideas is just for self-satisfaction, no matter how much I seem to be focused on them. I'm just a farmer who uses my own thoughts in written form as motivation to keep living." With a smile, Martiz placed his plate and Cloax's upon the table. Cloax stared at his food as he was still in disbelief.
"Pathetic." He said as he looked up at Martiz who seemed to be appalled by Cloax’s words. "I've been sheltered because of what you've written, yet you don't even follow your own principles. It's this hypocrisy that I expected from neutrality." He said as he jumped from his seat and into his room. Martiz was confused, wondering what Cloax was talking about. As he started to walk toward Cloax’s room, he noticed that the book he brought home was gone. He quickly rushed toward his room, and as he opened the door his stomach was met with a knife. Cloax approached his father as Martiz kneeled to the floor, holding the wound that was slowly killing him.
"Neutrality is diminishing the galaxy. In order to allow the goal of your research to come true, I must kill those that stand in between." He said as he towered over Martiz who was now on the ground. Martiz looked up with his eyes starting to go blank.
"It is my fault for your upbringing. I have dishonored you. My judgment was clouded by your intelligence which is what I mistook for maturity. You have not experienced enough goodness or pain to understand what I wrote, yet you took it upon yourself to believe anything I say as truth. I am truly sorry." Martiz said as he slowly laid upon the ground in a lifeless state.
Cloax viewed his adoptive father as a person who didn't know what path to choose, instantly killing him with no thought or feeling of regret. At that moment, Cloax was succumbed by darkness. After leaving the farm, Cloax would go into other farms of different Lorrdians whom he felt were also of neutral persuasion and kill them in their sleep. His mind and personality were emotionless. He felt no compassion toward the people he killed, but believed that he was bringing justice upon those who he thought were deceitful. This sudden change of personality and action may have been influenced by his father's teaching, or his true origin which was unknown. No one knew, especially Martiz, that something so small such as a book could turn Cloax into a murderer.
An Escorted Soul
A couple of weeks later, Cloax was captured by a Lorrdian who was associated with an organized Dark Jedi group. Cloax never heard of a group of Jedi who followed the Dark side. He was sent to their small settlement and locked up in a holding cell for killing other Lorrdians that they knew. The deliberating group of Dark Jedi discussed on whether he should be executed for causing too much chaos. As he sat in one of their holding cells, he was visited by one of the Dark Jedi who was acquainted with current leaders of the group. When Cloax explained his reasons for killing the people of Lorrd, the Dark Jedi consulted with his leaders by explaining his reasoning, surprised that such a young boy understood so much about Dark side. He immediately introduced him to a man named Cylus Arbomage, who was a Dark Jedi Master.
Cylus was Jedi Padawan before he was removed from the Order, as he was charged under the conspiracy of attempting to learn more about the Dark side. He decided to follow the Dark side on his own, and instead of becoming a lone Dark Jedi, he decided to create a group for his own reasons. Throughout the years, he created a small settlement upon the deserted planet Korriban where he knew his organization could thrive without being noticed. He decided to focus on revenge upon the Jedi, and as his power grew, he began to lose control over it. He became indebted to his Dark Jedi master who, in times of need, would pull Cylus out of dangerous situations. His master watched his progress in Korriban, making sure that no more mistakes would be made.
Cloax seen Cylus as an ordinary man, but he was very cautious of him since he had a certain type of presence. Cylus was about the same age as Martiz, but much taller with bright yellow eyes. He had many old battle wounds upon his body which seemed to show how experienced he was in combat. Once they met, Cylus told Cloax that he was acquainted with the Dark side. Cloax could care less, knowing that anyone could be persuaded to change their ways. Cylus knew that his statement wouldn’t be enough to get closer to Cloax, so he tempted him into becoming an apprentice to learn Force abilities of the Dark side and to also turn him into a pawn for his own reasons. Cylus highly polluted Cloax's mind with more thoughts on the Dark side, explaining that all people who go to the Light must die as well. Although, Cloax didn't see it that way believing that the most important thing to do was know which side one should choose. He wouldn't budge on that notion, which worried Cylus as he knew it would take a long time to change his mind.
After more conversations with Cloax, Cylus released him from his cell. He led him toward his starcruiser which was large enough to take up to 50 people with them, taking him away from Lorrd into Korriban, where his settlement resided. Cylus lead Cloax to his home which had the shape of a black dome with multiple weapons placed on top for protection and sensors to allow entry. Cylus would start to consider Cloax as a Neophyte of the Dark side, who was very curious as to why he was brought to Korriban. He had never heard of the planet except in a book that showcased the Jedi's achievements, and it was considered as an evil place full of death and despair. Cylus told Cloax not to worry, and that he would be able to provide everything that he would need to reach his goal.
Cylus intended to teach Cloax the ways of the force, which was something that Cloax barely knew anything about. Cylus explained the Force to Cloax in large detail, comparing the Light and Dark sides. This intrigued him, as this new knowledge of the force was a potential ally. He was surprised that his father never put this kind of information in his research. Cylus would teach him techniques of the force, such as telekinesis. He found Cloax to be very efficient in using it, increasing his likeness towards him. Cloax was also being taught to wield a lightsaber, and how to use it effectively if he ever needed to use it. He was good enough to wield one at his age, although Cylus knew that he would need more work on it in the future. He taught Cloax over the next 2 years, so that the sessions would allow him to get closer to Cloax as a potential master.
As he excelled in his use of the force, Cylus noticed that Cloax's appearance started to change. His eyes started to gain a red ring around them. Unknown to Cloax, the Dark side of the Force would not only change him mentally, but also physically. When he would frequently ask Cylus why he had to learn such things, Cylus would answer simply and effectively.
“This will allow you to continue your dream as a prophet of the Dark side.”
At 12, Cloax was finished in learning the basic powers of the Dark side. Cylus applauded his training.
“It is time for you to go into the next level.” Cylus exclaimed in a promising way.
The Start
At age 13, Cloax became an Acolyte to Cylus, which was the equivalent of a Jedi Padawan. His skills in using the force and a lightsaber were becoming sharper each day, as he was being taught new techniques. His knowledge about the different sides of the Force had increased since he was younger. He was knowledgeable in how the Dark Jedi operate as well as the different factions around the area and their initiatives. He had learned more complicated Force techniques that involved more than just telekinetic abilities, and even though he had learned different styles of lightsaber combat, with his favorite being Soretsu and Shii-Cho, Cylus noticed that Cloax was limited in his ablities a lightsaber. He decided to train Cloax in using hand-to-hand combat, which would allow him to utilize his force properties in an appropriate manner. Cylus had abandoned the lightsaber after his removal from the Jedi Order, and decided that using the Force was his only way of defeating his enemies. He decided to teach Cloax his own techniques, to whom he thought was unseen throughout the galaxy.
Cylus was intrigued by the progress of his apprentice, but he was displeased by the fact that Cloax still wouldn't budge from his goal. Cylus had been unable to persuade Cloax into hatred of the Jedi. He had noticed that Cloax didn't succumb to the Dark side because of fear or anger, but rather another method in philosophy which he believed wouldn’t allow him to reach his full potential. He felt that as time would go by, Cloax would become a failure.
At 17, Cylus was called upon by Cylus to participate in a mission. The Dark Jedi faction that Cylus was associated with was in business with the planet Tiss'sharl in arms dealing. The Tiss'shars that inhabited the planet sold them some terrible weaponry that was much less quality then what they had paid for. In retaliation, they decided to destroy the faction that sold them the weapons. Cylus decided to take Cloax with him, hoping that the excitement of war would allow him to be more obedient. Cloax had only done small bounty hunting missions with Cylus so he agreed to go with him, as he wanted to find out whether this planet knew which side they stood on.
2 Months later, Cylus and Cloax left the planet of Korriban and headed towards the jungles of Tiss'sharl to confront the arms dealers. They were looking for a certain Tiss'shar named Dhan-ri-du. He was the director of the arms deal as well as the double crosser. Cylus and Cloax arrived near a small village inhabited by many Tiss'shar. They were both assisted by two other Dark Jedi who were both under Cylus as his subordinates. They hid behind the trees while moving toward the village in order to proceed without being unseen.
As they finally reached a position in which they could see the village, they observed the area in order to find out how they would enter without causing a disruption. They noticed multiple Tiss'shar walking around. Some were buying items, carrying weapons, and just talking. Cylus, Cloax, and the other Dark Jedi couldn't approach the village anymore since there weren't any large trees that they could hide behind. Cylus came up with the idea to allow Cloax to enter the village to see the reaction of the Tiss'shar. The other Dark Jedi decided that it wasn't a good idea since he was young and could alert them of their presence. Suddenly their throats started to tighten up as Cylus had used the force to choke them. He claimed that they didn't trust his judgment, which had irritated him. With that, they fully agreed to the idea, as Cylus's power persuaded their minds. Cloax agreed to the plan, understanding the danger of what would happen, but curious of the Tiss’Shar race.
He walked out into the village with a black cloak and hood that covered his head. The Tiss'shar instantly noticed him, and the ones with weapons swarmed him while aiming their weapons. He took a glance at them to see what they looked like up close. The Tiss'shar seemed reptilian, but they were highly intelligent. They asked Cloax who he was and where he came from. He took off the hood from his head which shocked the Tiss’shar as they were pointing guns at a young human boy, though they instantly cocked their weapons as they knew that he was with the Dark Jedi since he was wearing their clothes. They also remembered what they did to them in the weapons exchange, which caused them to think that he was there for revenge. Before they pulled their triggers, Cloax asked them a question.
“Before this skirmish takes a bad turn, might I ask your position in the galaxy?” The Tiss’shar looked at each other with confused looks, wondering what the boy was talking about. A bulky Tiss’shar who, according to the dossier, was Dhan-ri-du.
“Whatever position has the most money.” He said in a laughing manner as the others joined him in his guffaw. As Cloax started to chuckle, a nervous individual in the Tiss’shar group fired a shot at him. With a quick reflex, Cloax quickly activated his lightsaber and reflected the shot towards his head. Suddenly, a large amount of Dark Jedi swarmed the Tiss’shar, activating their own lightsabers in combat, causing a mass confusion in their camp. It was the first time that Cloax had seen such a horrifying scene of death in front of him since his killing spree in Lorrd. While avoiding and landing strikes with his own lightsaber, Cloax watched his master Cylus murder the leader of the Tiss’shar camp, Dhan-ri-du, by crushing his neck with the force. The feat amazed Cloax, who then attempted to do the same thing to another Tiss’shar who seemed to be hiding. He tried with his might to force choke the scared Tiss’shar who started to clutch his throat with his hands, attempting to breathe. Cylus, who was done with his opponent, watched from afar as he noticed that Cloax’s force skills were more advanced than he thought.
“His adaptive nature is strange.” He thought as he started to run toward Cloax. Cloax’s force powers weren’t strong enough to kill the Tiss’shar who was now attempting to grab his gun from its holster. Cylus quickly slashed down the Tiss’shar who bled to death. The skirmish quickly ended as the Dark Jedi easily overpowered the Tiss’shar camp, stealing back their money in the process.
“I’d say that this mission was a success,” Cylus said with a sinister grin. He then turned to Cloax who was observing the area that was filled with bodies. “What do you think Cloax?” he asked. Cloax then turned to the ship and walked in its direction.
“It was alright. Their deaths allowed our future to come at a faster pace. I have no regrets.” He said with his face as blank as a slate. Cylus was confused as to whether Cloax had changed at all because of the battle, but he knew that Cloax could excel in battle. Over the years, he would force Cloax into even more battles in an attempt to mold his personality at quicker rate.
At age 20, Cloax was at the top of his colleagues as an acolyte, but Cylus was still concerned about Cloax’s mental state. Cloax had passed his peers who have had a darker view as Acolytes with passions for murder and crime, yet he still had not been coerced into abandoning his philosophy. Cloax and Cylus were on his cruiser with a small group of Dark Jedi, heading back to Korriban after a quick invasion on a small Jedi Starcruiser fleet that were full of academy students who were returning home from a training session.
The mission ended in a unsatisfying way in Cylus's eyes. The invasion of the Starcruiser was a success, but Cylus had underestimated the number of high ranked Jedi that were in the fleet, causing his plans to end quickly. Cylus wasn't able to direct his own faction, so that they could retreat. Cloax was also in the commotion, but he quickly directed as many Dark Jedi as he could to safety. The encounter left many men injured, and some dead. It wasn’t the first time that Cloax had to fight the Jedi firsthand, but it was another attempt by Cylus to get his personality to change, not caring who would get hurt in the process. He felt that Cloax respected the Jedi for being a group of people who have chosen their sides in the galaxy. Cloax wouldn’t hesitate in felling one though, for he believed that they are more prone to turn to neutrality than the Dark Jedi. Cylus wanted Cloax to kill the Jedi not because of their beliefs, but because of who they were. As Cylus sat down in his room aboard the ship, contemplating on the events that just occurred, he turned on his holocron which revealed an individual who wore a dark black cloak that hid his facial identity.
“How did he do?” The official asked Cylus, who knew that he was talking about Cloax.
“Very well. His acquaintance with the force is getting better by the days.” He said in an unsatisfying manner. The individual rubbed his chin.
“So he still has his own mind I see.” He said as Cylus sat back in his chair.
“Yes, he hasn’t faltered. He’s very difficult to work with.”
“There’s no rush.” The cloaked figure replied as he left the holocron. Cylus walked away from his room to find Cloax meditating.
"I see you're still doing those meditation techniques I told you to do. What I'm going to teach you isn't easy. I have no reason as to why you're interested in the destructive properties of the force. Your personality isn't suited for it." Cylus said to Cloax as he sat next to him. Cloax opened his eyes and looked Cylus.
"Combined with hand-to-hand combat, it seems to be a good choice. For one who isn't myself, I'm surprised that you could tell me what I should and shouldn't learn." He said in a sarcastic manner. Before leaving, Cylus gave Cloax a sharp look as though he wanted to kill him. Cloax wondered what else the Dark Jedi would have in store for him. He reminisced about his previous battles and opponents, and thought about the future. He knew that there would be a time in which he would be allowed to do his own things as a Dark Jedi, but he wondered how it would benefit his philosophy.
The Knighted One
At 22, Cloax was recognized as a Dark Jedi Knight. He was given the opportunity to participate in missions on his own, as well as join other Dark Jedi Masters in larger battles. While he was interested in the new perks that he was getting, Cylus’s concerns grew. He started to get desperate as he decided to stop training Acolytes, and instead he would watch over Cloax without him knowing in order to study him. Cloax’s force powers were well honed as he rarely used his lightsaber in combat, only to deflect certain physical attacks and ranged attacks. His skills in the martial arts were highly acceptable, as he was able to hold a decent sparring session with Cylus. He started to plan for his next series of missions that would span for 10 years.
At 23, Cloax looked down at a Rodian representative by the name of Lar Nuun who was on the floor clutching his chest in fear. They were both on Lar’s personal starcruiser, which was now plunging toward the planet Rodia at full speed. Cloax had hijacked the ship, and silently taken out Lar’s personnel such as his bodyguards and associates. As Lar pleaded for his life, Cloax walked to the northernmost window near the cockpit of the ship.
“You’re a leader to many, and an inspiration to most Rodians in the galaxy. Through treachery and ill will, you ask me to assassinate your partners to gain more authority in office and you want me to give you sympathy?” Cloax asked as he turned back towards Lar who was clutching his chest even harder. Lar Nunn had contacted Cloax through a fake advertisement to assassinate his political opponents. Cloax used the advertisement as bait to lure in corrupt officials. The Rodian was in such pain that his voice grew more silent the longer he talked.
“I apologized for my misdeeds. I’m sorry!” He said in a horrifying manner. Cloax walked towards the Rodian and towered over him, with a red glare covering his eyes that glowed from the darkness of his hood.
“Your senseless thought for power will just ruin the universe. Don’t worry, since I’ll be coming for your colleagues as well.” Once Cloax walked away from Lar, a cracking sound was heard as his body laid on the ground. The senator’s ship was plummeting fast, and Cloax knew that it wouldn’t be long until it hit the planet.
“I know you’re out there. Where are you?” He thought as he looked out of the window once again. Suddenly, a larger starcruiser appeared beside the ship. Cloax quickly equipped himself with open space protective gear, opened the escape hatch, and jumped towards the ship before getting to safety as the Rodian cruiser entered the planet’s atmosphere. Once the hatch of the Dark Jedi cruiser closed behind Cloax, he was met by Cylus who smiled upon him.
“What a coincidence eh? You’re lucky that I was around this system.” He said in a proud manner as Cloax walked away to a vacant room. Cylus, who was ignored, scoffed at him and exited to his own room. He was getting frustrated. Following Cloax across the galaxy hadn’t helped him at all. Cloax had been doing a series of assassinations of representatives from various planets to who he deemed poisonous to the galaxy’s progress. Cylus thought that he would be able to see if Cloax was changing at all, but he wasn’t. He still had a sense of empty emotion that was hard to predict. Unaware to Cylus, Cloax had other ideas. While also assassinating these representatives, he would obtain certain information upon other things as well. He had acquired many more books and data files upon the Sith order, whom he had been curious about since he read about them as a child. He had been reading upon their purposes and codes. In his spare time he would or enhance his own Dark Jedi techniques using what Cylus taught him, as well as creating styles of his own. As Cylus grew impatient, Cloax became stronger.
At 26, Cloax’s antics had been known throughout many systems for murdering multiple representatives and other small constituent leaders, but his actual identity was still unknown. Cloax was in a small frigate, heading back home to Korriban with Cylus whom he had picked up along the way as he was stranded due to a core component in his own cruiser malfunctioning.
“So you’re sure no one saw you?” Cylus asked Cloax who was piloting the frigate. Before picking up Cylus, Cloax had attacked the headquarters of a group of Iridonian statesmen who were about to negotiate with a group of Jedi after selling children to various crime organizations. Cloax killed most of the people involved, except for the son of one of the statesmen. Cloax claimed that the boy wanted to be sold so that he could pursue his own goals and not be as corrupt as his father. Cylus believed that allowing him to survive was reckless, and could jeopardize Cloax by revealing his identity. He allowed the boy to leave in a cruiser without chasing him down.
“I don’t care if my identity is revealed. I only killed in secrecy so that no one would hide, which would allow me to find the correct people much faster. Now that they know someone is coming after them, they’re hiding anyway. They’ll get their turn soon enough.” Cloax answered. Cylus, who was still frustrated, banged his hand down on the table in front of him as he sat behind Cloax.
“All you care about is yourself and your philosophy. Drop these false notions and do what you’re destined to do.” He exclaimed as he rubbed his head. Cloax chuckled a bit as he set the frigate on autopilot. He stood up from his seat and sat on the other side of the table from Cylus.
“What false notions do you think I’m following?” He asked.
“This thing about the balance and the universe. You even told me that your father didn’t follow it even though he wrote it. Obviously, there are some false statements in it.” Cloax stared at the table before looking back up at Cylus with menacing grin, which was something Cylus never seen him do.
“I may have killed Martiz, but he wasn’t a fool. He was a prophet of the universe, who I was given to as a child in order to carry out its plans. He didn’t have to follow a set of rules that the universe gave him, which is why his death wasn’t in vain. Once he wrote his philosophy his job was done.” Cylus laughed after Cloax spoke.
“You’re insane, though I expected an answer like that from you. I insult your beliefs, and you give me an answer with no emotion at all. I think that you too believe that it’s crap,” Cylus stood up from his seat and laughed even more, getting even louder with his words. “People change sides for many reasons, especially if it’s to escape something. You never experienced pain or fear, so how do you know that you could never change?” He asked. Cloax realized that Cylus was right. He was trained well in the Dark side of the force, so he never had any experience in death since he was able to escape from it on his own.
“You’re right, but your words won’t force me to abandon my philosophy. Until the day when I’m tested, my mind will not falter. The will of the weak is what I hunt. Shall I fall under such a concept, I will kill myself.” Cloax said as he stood up from his seat, back into the cockpit of the frigate. Cylus stroked his chin in thought as he sat back down in his chair. As they reached Korriban, they both had new plans in their minds that would change both of their fates.
The Test
3 Months later while meditating in his small home on Korriban, Cloax was attacked by multiple Dark Jedi whom he had worked with before. A group of 30 men surrounded his home in an ambush and as he was dragged outside of his home, one of the Dark Jedi injected a serum into Cloax causing him to sleep.
Cloax woke up to a massive shock of electricity entering his body. He was being asked to answer questions about how he murdered various leaders that paid the Dark Jedi for assassinations. He was in a room where he couldn’t see anything, but was attached to a machine that was able to give out large volts of electricity. When he gave no answer, he would get shocked once again. These questions with continuous torture lasted for months, and at the end of each day, Cloax would be sent to a locked cell similar to the one he was held in when he was younger. After 7 months of harsh interrogation through torture, another person was thrown inside Cloax’s cell who seemed to have been wearing Jedi garb. The Jedi tried many ways to get out of the cell, such as using the force but failed. Cloax classified the Jedi to be at the same level as a knight but his force skills weren’t well developed, and since his lightsaber was taken he couldn’t escape with it. He was about the same age as Cloax, with short black hair, green eyes, and tattoos on his arm. He looked at Cloax and noticed his glowing eyes and dark demeanor.
“The force feels dark around you as though you’re one of them, but you’re locked in here.” He told Cloax was meditating to ease the pain that was inflicted upon his body.
“Yes, I am one of them.” Cloax answered honestly. The Jedi looked back at Cloax with wide eyes.
“So before I escape, will I have to kill you?” The Jedi was stern in asking Cloax such a question, to which Cloax replied:
“That is if you can. My question to you is how long will their torture cause you to succumb to their will? I know how you Jedi work. If defeat comes your way, you abandon your code and switch sides.” The Jedi laughed at Cloax before walking toward him.
“And if I did change sides, what would you do about it?”
“Simply kill you.” Cloax said in a calm manner. In rage, the Jedi attempted to punch Cloax, but failed as his body became immobile. Cloax used the force to paralyze the Jedi before standing up and walking slowly to him.
“I’ll show you how weak willed you truly are.” By using the Force, Cloax reached into the Jedi’s mind and brought out his most painful memories, and replayed them in his mind for hours. The Jedi started to sweat profusely as time went by as his brain was under much stress of reliving horrible memories. For 2 hours, the Jedi was in torture that not even the Dark Jedi who captured him could give. Cloax finally lifted his hold upon the Jedi which made him collapse onto the ground. The backlash of the force technique he had used also affected Cloax who gained a terrible migraine. Shortly after, one of the Dark Jedi quickly grabbed Cloax for another interrogation session.
When an exhausted Cloax was sent back into his cell, he noticed that the Jedi was now sitting in an upright position. Cloax wondered if a Dark Jedi positioned him that way, as the technique he used upon the Jedi was a powerful one that could take years to recover from. He had learned the technique from Cylus, who had learned it from his master. The ability was torture itself, but if one should survive it, he would grow stronger as well. He didn’t know if it worked correctly, since he felt some of its effects. Suddenly, he heard heavy breathing from the Jedi.
“I won’t change.” He said softly in an unconscious state. Cloax was amazed by the Jedi’s words.
“So, there are strong ones out there. You taught me something new today Jedi.” With as much power as he could, Cloax used the force to crush the lock on the door of his holding cell. He had no idea where he was, but he assumed he was in the same type of facility that he was held in on Lorrd since the holding cell looked similar. He slowly crawled out of his cell and found a small closet to hide in so that he could gather more energy to move on. As he waited he heard the alarm warning others that he had escaped. Once he felt that he had gained enough strength, he lurked the halls of the facility while trying to remember where they held items of the prisoners they captured. It took him hours to find where his clothes and lightsaber were, and before departing the ship he went back to the cell that the Jedi was in, noticing that he was gone. Strapped for time, Cloax searched for the exit. Once he found it, he left the facility and noticed that he was still on the planet Korriban, but in a deserted place with barely any sign of life. He knew that he would be risking his life he had went back inside the facility, so he walked the deserts of Korriban searching for food and shelter.
Cloax roamed Korriban for months, finding shelter within caves or making some of his own. From what he knew, the only people living on Korriban at the time were the Dark Jedi who captured him. He cooked certain animals that he found in the desert to eat, and conserved as much water as he could. The force also allowed him to keep a sane mind, and allowed him to stay alive so that he wouldn’t die from thirst or starvation. He also kept training his Dark Jedi techniques and force powers during this time while also meditating. Cloax knew that he was near death. He had been away from society and from any real source of food and drink for too long for him to last much longer. He thought of a life without the Dark side in which he would have a family, and his father. He also wondered if he was truly benefiting the galaxy by purging people who were neutral. It wasn’t long until he came across a familiar starcruiser. Cloax quickly approached it, hoping that it was still working. Once he was near the hatch, it opened with Cylus standing behind it.
“It’s been a while Cloax.” He said with his usual grin. Once Cloax took a quick glimpse at him, he fainted at his feet. Cylus carried him and put him on board, and departed from the planet Korriban. Cloax woke up a day later in Cylus’s starcruiser, and as he entered the room, he sat next to Cloax.
“I gave you enough food and drink to keep you alive, but you’re still prone to starvation and thirst.” He explained. Cloax wondered why he was talking in such a manner.
“Are you telling me that you aren’t going to give me any food?” He asked. Cylus grinned.
“I’ll give you food, if you do something for me.” He said as he left the room. Once he returned, he brought back a young Iridonian man who Cloax seemed to remember. “Yes, he used to be the boy you forgot to kill those years ago. He can still compromise your identity. You kill him, and I’ll give you food.” Cloax slowly sat up from his bed to get a better look. Once he looked at the Iridonian, he noticed that he didn’t show fear or any sign of trying to escape.
“What is your occupation?” Cloax asked the Iridonian. The Iridonian spoke quickly.
“I’m librarian of sorts. I collect forbidden books and artifacts.” Cloax then looked at Cylus
“There is no reason to kill him. He’s held the same ideal since the day I let him escape. The force tells me so.” He exclaimed. Cylus started to get angry.
“It doesn’t matter. If he doesn’t die, you will.” He said bluntly. Cloax slowly laid back into his bed.
“Then that’s how it shall be.” Cylus was getting even angrier. Before coming to a response, Cloax spoke once again. “I’ve known about you for years. Your tactics of completely molding me into your pawn will stop today. I’ve passed your trials of coercion. Your influence on this planet is very high, so it would be easy for you to command those Dark Jedi to attack me. One thing I’m not sure of is if you knew that I could’ve escaped at any time. In truth, I took that test and turned it into one of my own. I met a Jedi in that facility that had his own philosophy and didn’t budge from it even under large stress and pain. Neither torture, starvation, nor thirst will keep me from holding the codes that Martiz Zenotite taught me.” Cylus was speechless. Without a thought, he quickly activated his lightsaber. Suddenly, the Iridonian ran toward Cylus and knocked him on to the ground, which caused the lightsaber to fall out of his hands onto the floor. Using as much power as he could, Cloax used telekinesis to move the lightsaber to slash Cylus upon his legs so that he couldn’t stand up. The Iridonian picked up Cloax and carried him toward an escape pod. Cloax asked the Iridonian to set the coordinates toward Lorrd, as he believed that was the only place that he could rehabilitate without anyone knowing where he was.
Once they landed on Lorrd, Cloax asked the Iridonian if he could take him to the farm where he used to live. It was clean since no one lived in it. He knew that whoever found Martiz’s body must’ve cleaned the place as well since they lived far away from the rest of Lorrdian civilization. Cloax thanked the Iridonian and told him to escape the quadrant and instead find somewhere else to further his studies. The Iridonian thanked him, and left the farm leaving Cloax to deal on his own. It wouldn’t take long for him to get back on his feet. Cloax walked to the local market and bought as many supplies as he could. He would attempt to reestablish the farm his father owned in order to make his own food supply to sustain himself. This would be his safe haven.
He added a small training facility to his house with the money he made by selling items from his farm. For six years, Cloax started his training. He abandoned the teachings of the Dark Jedi, and began training on his own.
Masterful
At age 32, Cloax believed that it was time to restart his goal of cleansing the universe of neutrality, despite his thoughts on the deserts of Korriban. He may have had a better life if he had learned such things, but he accepted his fate and chose to go along with it. He had quickly found out that his identity had been revealed as the assassin who was killing many leaders across the universe because of Cylus. He knew that in order for him to fulfill his own destiny, he would have to kill Cylus. He believed that Cylus could be easily persuaded into switching sides, especially since his own initiative was to convert him into something he didn’t want to be. Cloax left his farm and burned it, as he believed he wouldn't return to Lorrd. He arrived at a Lorrdian space port, and hijacked a starfighter before leaving to Korriban, in which his mission was kill the Dark Jedi who captured him to get to Cylus.
Cloax’s skills in Dark Side techniques were masterful, as he was able to take out many Dark Jedi Knights at once with just his force powers while using martial arts to control them. He killed many factions of Dark Jedi who were considered as mercenaries rather than Dark Jedi that were loyal to the Dark side. It didn’t take long until Cylus knew of Cloax’s return to Korriban. He told one of his subordinates to alert Cloax of his location so that they would meet again. Cylus’s legs now had robotic attachments to them that allowed him to walk which were previously disabled because of Cloax. Inside Cylus’s home was another acquaintance of his who also wanted to meet Cloax. They both waited until he arrived.
As Cloax headed to the next Dark Jedi settlement, he noticed one of the members running toward him. The member gave him the location of Cylus’s home, and told Cloax that he would escort him there. He followed the Dark Jedi to Cylus’s location, which had a large dome exterior similar the one he had before. As they both entered, Cloax’s eyes met Cylus’s who was sitting across the room. Behind Cylus was a cloaked figure who he had talked to about Cloax many years ago.
“And so we meet for the last time Cloax.” Cylus said as he stood up from his seat. Cloax noticed the robotic attachments on his legs that were being used as support since he had previously damaged them so he wouldn’t be able to walk.
“This might be the last time indeed Cylus.” Cloax said. The Dark Jedi that escorted Cloax left Cylus’s home and proceeded to run away, scared as to what might happen. Cylus felt the force upon Cloax and noticed that his skills had increased much from their last encounter. He knew that if he fought Cloax that he might not be able to live.
“Since I’m much more of an old man now, and you’re a fully grown master of the Dark side, I think we should talk first.” He said as he motioned for Cloax to take a seat. Cloax refused his offer, as he wanted to finish what he came to do.
“I’m sorry if I may seem impatient, but for me to do my duties without any interruption from you, I must erase all of your influence upon me and start once again on my own.” He said clenched his fists. “I will remove myself as a Dark Jedi, as even that name assigns itself as neutral if money and fear are brought up upon its members.” Cloax walked towards Cylus who even though claimed that Cloax would be able to defeat him, didn’t budge from his position. The visitor who was with Cylus pushed Cloax to the wall and snatched Cloax’s lightsaber by using the force. He took off his cloak, revealing a seemingly disfigured face with bright glowing red eyes.
“So you deem someone such as Cylus to be susceptible to changing sides?” The man asked. Cloax was surprised that he was able to steal his lightsaber so easily, though he didn’t expect for him to take it.
“Of course, or I would not have pursued him.” Cloax used telekinesis to open the man’s grip upon his lightsaber, so that he would snatch it back from him. The man gave Cloax a grin.
“I believe you are right.” The man said, surprised at Cloax’s ability at using the force. He now turned to Cylus who was looking at him in disbelief. “Cylus you did a good job, and I applaud you for that. So I will allow you to speak before you retire.” Cylus was in awe as he looked at the man who was his master.
“What do you mean? What’s going on?” Cylus asked as he tried to activate his own lightsaber that wouldn’t extend.
“I’ll tell you what I mean, after I consult with Cloax first.” Cloax himself was confused. He didn’t know who this man was, but noticed that he seemed to be a superior to Cylus.
“Who are you?” Cloax asked, while holding up his lightsaber in defense, believing that not even his hand-to-hand combat abilities would be enough to fight him.
“I’m sure you’ve heard of the Sith order.” The man said in a proud way. Cloax widened his eyes a bit in interest.
“Yes, but they’re extinct.” Cloax replied in confusion.
“That might be what we want others to think. You see, the Empire is getting stronger day by day, but how do you think that’s happening? Surely you didn’t think we’d die out so easily. So I came here to see if you’d like to join our cause.” Cloax and Cylus were surprised by his words. “Your philosophy isn’t too far away from ours.”
“How do I know that I can trust you?” He asked the Sith recruiter.
“Because the force tells you that you can.” He said in an assuring manner. Cloax knew he was telling the truth, because he didn’t feel any sign of deceit in his words.
“I have delved in the studies of the Sith, and I do have an interest in their ways of the force. I believe that if I must associate with a group that could help my cause, then the Sith would be the right decision.” The Sith then bowed his head toward Cloax.
“If you would please wait for me outside, I will meet up with you shortly. You needn’t worry about Cylus as I’ll carry out your duty as a gift.” With that, Cloax left Cylus’s house with one last look into his eyes. Cylus’s face was filled with horror.
“What is this?” Cylus asked as the Sith recruiter started to approach him.
“I’ll be blunt, you were a pawn.” He said sternly. “You and Martiz did well in raising him.”
“What does Cloax’s adoptive father have to do with this?”
“I was conscious of Martiz’s works ever since he was exiled. He was a brilliant philosopher, but he was too oblivious to understand how truly brilliant he was. So I conducted an experiment. I found a birthed child on Ziost about 32 years ago, when I was still a rogue under the Dark Jedi moniker. He almost succumbed to frostbite, but it seemed that the force kept him alive. Around that time I had been interested in Zenotite’s writings on his Galactic Arbitration theory. I wanted to see how this theory would mold a person, so I sent the boy to his farm. You, Cylus, were the next piece in his upbringing. I was too old to another, so I decided to send him to one of the most acclaimed Dark Jedi in the galaxy to train an already molded child of the Dark side. His progress is much more of a success than I originally thought it would be. All he needs left is my tutelage, and we may have one of the greatest warriors that the Dark side will come to know.” Cylus was overwhelmed with fear and anger. He knew the power of his superior, but he couldn’t help but attempt to kill him. The Sith recruiter raised his hand and shot out multiple shocks of lightning from his fingertips, electrocuting Cylus and sending him to his death.
“Goodbye Cylus.” The recruiter said before leaving. As he left, he met Cylus outside and escorted him to his frigate. As they departed from Korriban, the recruiter spoke once again.
“We have a hidden academy here on this planet, but for now we're heading back to Ziost, where I’ll teach you some things that not even books can fully explain. You still have much to learn.”
"Back to Ziost?" Cloax asked. The sith recruiter laughed.
"I forgot that you don't know. Maybe I'll tell you what I'm talking about when we get there."

"I have an appointment with Dort Fidaan." Cloax exclaimed to the lady behind the receptionist counter of the Fidaan Corporation building. The young female Nemoidian took a glance at Cloax with a discerning look.
"Are you a bounty hunter?" She asked. With a smirk, Cloax replied.
"Something like that." She nodded her head to him before clicking away at the computer in front of her. Suddenly, a scanner came out from behind the counter and scanned Cloax's body.
"It seems that you're not found in our database. Are you new to Nemoidia?" She asked. Knowing that his conversation with the receptionist would take a while, Cloax decided to use mind tricks.
"No I'm not new to Nemoidia," He said softly. "I'm a very important client." The receptionist looked at Cloax as though she was in a trance. She then pressed on the small communication device she had upon her ear.
"You have a very important guest here Mr. Fidaan. Should I send him up?" She asked to the person whom she was communicating with. After a few seconds she put her focus upon Cloax.
"Take the elevator to the 18th floor. The first door you see will be the meeting room where Mr. Fidaan will be waiting." She said with a smile. Cloax gave a nod to the receptionist before walking toward the elevator. The Fidaan building was massive. It was a corporation that dabbled in trade and finances for other corporations. Dort Fidaan presented himself as an open man, and his building reflected that. Walkways, elevators, fountains, and even rooms were transparent and made out of glass. He had multiple cameras situated near every door, and guards that were posted on each floor.
"For an open man, he seems to be very cautious." Cloax thought to himself as he observed the place. The building mostly consisted of Nemoidian workers who were too caught up in their business to notice other people around them. Cloax knew that the environment was perfect for his mission. He recently found out that Fidaan was a former associate of Cylus. The Dark Jedi whom Cylus had taught in his faction were in fact slaves who were taught to fight for Fidaan's personal military whenever they were old enough. Cloax believed that Fidaan was guilty of treason for abusing the Dark side of the force. He took it upon himself to see that he would die for his treachery.
As he entered the glass elevator, Cloax observed the large structure in the middle of the building. It was a large glass ball with colorful lights fixated at the bottom which would be reflected all around the building. While the place would look gloomy from the outside, it gave the interior an extraordinary atmosphere.
"Floor 18." Cloax said as the elevator's vocal receptors heard his command. The elevator lifted itself from the first floor and gravitated quickly to the 18th floor. Cloax observed a large gold bar placed on two huge brown double doors through the glassy elevator door. He assumed that inside those double doors was the meeting room where he was supposed to go. As he stepped off the elevator, Cloax strolled towards the gold bar which had an intricate carving on it saying "Fidaan". Once he placed his hand on the gold bar the double doors opened up, revealing a huge room with a large oval shaped table in the middle. Along the sides of the oval table were people who Cloax automatically recognized as bounty hunters, and on one side of the oval was Dort Fidaan who was sitting in a relaxed position.
"Take a seat Cloax." He said smiling as he motioned for him to sit down at the other side of the oval table, which was farthest away from him. Behind Fidaan was a wall that was full of video panels that displayed footage of every camera in the building, and one particular one that Cloax could notice was one that was displaying the entrance to the building. The meeting room was much different from the rest of the building as it seemed to be made out of a steel alloy rather than glass. Cloax sat down upon the hard steel chair, looking around the room once again noticing that the bounty hunters were all looking at him.
"This room is different from the others," Cloax exclaimed. "Why is that?" Fidaan gave a short chuckle before reclining in his chair.
"Well this room was recently built not too long ago for certain occasions," he claimed. "You seem to be pretty fond of it." Cloax crossed his arms and reclined in his chair as well.
"Yes, it's definitely interesting, but enough with the chit-chat. How did you know my name?" He asked. Cloax knew that he was in a trap of sorts. He planned to sneak into Fidaan's office without being seen so that there wouldn't be much commotion. Now he had obstacles, and he knew that the mission would take longer than what was planned. Fidaan reached his hand under the oval table and activated a button that reacted with the steel walls.
"Well, since the death of my long time acquaintance Cylus, I took it upon myself to find out who killed him and why. I've heard rumors that you had been looking for him ferociously. There's nothing wrong with a little protection right?" He said as he reclined in his chair once again. Cloax knew that he wouldn't be able to escape through the double doors. He would have to deactivate the locks somehow. He noticed that the bounty hunters were starting to place their hands upon their weapons. If he was going to escape, he would have to do it now.
"Protection is important, but as long as I'm in the room your protection won't do a thing." Cloax boasted. He quickly thrust his hands toward both sides of the oval table toward the bounty hunters, releasing a pulse using the force that would knock them into the walls behind them. Using the force again, Cloax lifted the oval table and attempted to smash Fidaan with it. Fidaan had escaped with a small trap door under his seat. Because the table was flipped over, Cloax could see the button that allowed Fidaan to lock the room. The bounty hunters quickly scrambled to get up and grab their weapons. Using his reflexes, Cloax grabbed his lightsaber as a bounty hunter started to shoot at him with a blaster. Cloax reflected the shot to hit the button under the oval table, unlocking the door behind him.
Cloax kept deflecting shots as he ran away from the room, and as he approached the elevator, he used the force to break the glass. He needed a distraction to confuse the bounty hunters, so he thought about the glass ball in the middle of the building. He could see the large glass structure through the broken elevator, so he jumped towards it, using force crush to create a crack in the middle. As he landed on top of it, the large glass ball shattered, causing a large commotion among the Nemoidian workers and guards. Cloax quickly wiped himself off as he landed on the floor, covering his head with his hood as he walked away from the building. He took a glance at the 18th floor to see if the bounty hunters had noticed him. They were looking all over the different floors meaning that they didn't know which way he went. Cloax knew that Fidaan had a personal starcruiser that he used to travel in, so he expected him to leave the planet. He quickly ran towards the launch terminal where he could get a view of the different starships. Sure enough, Fidaan was piloting his starcruiser which was already departing on the landing strip. The starcruiser had two large wing structures on the side of it for accurate steering. Cloax climbed on top of a smaller starcruiser near the landing strip and as Fidaan passed by, Cloax jumped on one of the wings while it was still departing. Using the force, Cloax moved the wings so that the starcruiser would gain speed and lift off.
"Not the way I imagined this would end, but it's good enough for me." Cloax said once the star cruiser lifted. He used his light saber to slash the right wing of the starcruiser so that it couldn't keep a consistent altitude while in the air. He flipped off the starcruiser and watched as the ship rised and stalled in the air until it crashed into the ground, causing a massive explosion. Cloax landed on the ground using his arms and legs before examining the area. He watched as the Nemoidians were still running away from the Fidaan building in large groups of confusion. His mission was finished, and as Cloax walked away he reholsted his lightsaber.

Because he's a quiet fellow, Cloax is mostly seen with his cloak around with his hood hiding his head.
