So, as some of you all of you probably know, I've said 'damn the expense' and hired an artist on commission to draw all my characters on here. Even the pending ones. He's going to keep the final results hidden until every single character is done, and arranged in a line, but he has agreed to run rough drafts by me so I can let him know if anything needs changing. Well I'll be sharing these rough drafts right here. Starting with Var. Yes, I know you can see nipples. That's the underlying anatomy he had to draw first. Just look past that.

All right, starting to get colored images. These will get more details, but the ones that are mostly done will get shared here early. For now it's Ervisa and Shakka.

Well, bad news.
As some of you may know, I've been doing battle with financial aid. I had a need of 19k, and my financial aid only totaled 11k. I tried to get loans, but was rejected. Couldn't find any scholarships.
For perspective, I have no job and money. My mother became disabled and lost her job. Even knowing that, they only increased my offer to 12k.
The result is that I can't afford to go to a university right now. I have to find a job and earn money.

Well, I'm in a difficult position still. The good news is that I'm safely moved to the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. The temperature went from 90F/32C to 60F/15.5C. And rain. Lots of rain. Life is coming along slowly. Filling out job applications, planning day trips to places. With any luck my mother and I will take my grandmother to see Wicked in October when the tour stops in Seattle. College seems like a distant dream now, but I can hope time will fly and bring me to a good school with full pockets. I'm contemplating community college to get an Associates Degree, then transferring. Where to? Who knows. My current dream? With any luck I'll get there some time.

All right. Update time.
So, I have been looking for a job for a month, and tomorrow I have my first interview at Walmart. So luxurious and classy... But a job's a job. Wish me luck with it.
As some of you may know, I've had this problem with my legs. Every time I tried walking over a quarter mile I had this fiery pain shooting up the sides of my legs. Well, I went to a podiatrist, and he looked me over quite well. Now I have an answer.
It turns out I have a mechanical problem in my foot. The tendons that attach to it are overworked due to some unknown factor. Chalk it up to how I walked or how my shoes fit, but the end result was that they buggered up my legs. But this Doctor just taped up the bottoms of my feet to make it work right as a test, and sent me home to see if I could walk.
I walked two miles with no pain.
Now I'll be getting special insoles for my shoes to enable me to walk as much as I'd like.
Things are finally looking up.

'Was' is now the operative word, as I have lost my job.

Before I lost my job I paid for a couple commissions, here are the roughs. The first artist is my go-to guy, the second is a trial one for me, someone I thought would be interesting. We'll see how she does.

You know what I hate?
When people you don’t want to talk to insist on talking to you. I readily admit I’m not the most subtle person in the world, so if I don’t want you to talk to me, you probably already know it.
Yet people insist on it anyway. Maybe they think it makes them manly or impressive, or it gives them a feeling of control. Nevertheless, I do not care about their reasons or psychological inadequacies. I’m a veritable grab-bag of issues, and I’m not about to bother someone I know I hate with messages or other communication.
I’m smart, or wise, or possessed with enough common sense to not poke a bear in the eye with a stick, no matter how small the bear is. There’s no point to it at all.
When people seem intent on stirring up shit and forcing drama into your life, it’s important to remember not to care. I learned that lesson from my mother, though I often have trouble implementing it. When someone bothers you or harasses you, just block them or ignore them and move on to something else. So I’ve tried to do.
I’ve learned that the people I hate, who are few and far between, are also the people I can live without. And should live without. Whenever I interact with them I feel the need to take a shower. It’s like shaking hands with a nazi really, you just want to go and wash them if you’ve made the mistake of touching.
I’m still human. When people provoke me, I still get pissed. That’s natural, and it’s not about to change. But when I’ve decided not to care, when I’ve decided I have no craps to give, I can get over that pissed off feeling pretty fast.
I’m tired of caring. It’s an exhausting business, and I’m slowly learning online to not care about the people I don’t actually like.
There are some people I really love, like Ghostie, Mike, Dee, and Pol. Then there’s a sort of hierarchy of the rest, and some people have to be at the bottom. By and large they’ve earned a place there, and maybe with luck and a little nice behavior they’ll rise to the next tier.
I’m not a guy who likes having enemies, or who likes being hated. Simple fact is that I like being liked. I like it when people laugh at my jokes, or when I can bond with someone over an interaction. When someone hates me, it bothers me.
My big challenge in life is to avoid the haters, and learn to not care about them.
Love me or hate me, I’m here and I’m staying. So hate away, or let the loving commence.
