Rago has the standard appearance of the Bith kind. Short in stature, even for his species. Large bulbous head, black eyes and pale, yellow skin. Usually, he is seen wearing a layered black cloak, with a large hood over his head, protecting his extremely sensitive eyes from the light.
Birth place: Clak'dor VII - Nozho
Faction: Dark Jedi
Rank: Master
Bio:
An unwanted Bith spawn, Rago did not know his "parents", if such a word applies. As the Bith people are genetically engineered via computer mating service, it is likely Rago was a rejected result of such process. The first few years of his life were spent as the hidden adoptive child in a middle class Bith family unit, but in such a tightly regimented society, where every aspect of life is computer-controlled, it was not long before Bith authorities found out about the boy. The family was severely punished, but the boy, warned by a vision of things to come, escaped as a stowaway inside a large cargo vessel covering the Rimma trade route. He was 5 years old.
The next stop on the vessel's route was the planet Eriadu, on the outer rim. The young bith found employment at the cantina, carrying instruments for the local cantina band, The Hydian Quintet, comprised mostly of Bith musicians. Eventually, after working with the band for 4 years, he became part of the band, playing the Kloo horn, and gaining praise as the youngest Kloo horn player in the Intergalactic federation of musicians (IFM). The band continued to gain popularity along the outer rim, until the day they were hired to play in the chambers of Grellug the Hutt, crimelord of the Malastare system. The band, however, was not aware of an assassination plot to be executed on the same day of their first performance, by a dark jedi by the name of Nardo Lekke.
Grellug's audience chamber was a graveyard. Bodies of servants, bounty hunters and the hutt himself covered the floor. Even the band was slaughtered, except for Rago, who again was warned of the imminent danger by a vision of the future. He hid under the throne of the hutt for as long as he could, but he was eventually discovered, only he was not slaughtered like every other being in the room. The dark jedi sensed the force flow strongly within the boy, who, in a desperate attempt to escape the dark one's grasp tried to strike him with his kloo horn, to no avail. With one swift strike it was sliced in half by the jedi's lightsaber. Even after Rago's attempt to break free, the dark jedi did not kill him, although he was punished severely...
It was Nardo Lekke's decision to train the young Bith in the ways of the dark side of the force. Rago embraced the teachings of the dark jedi, without ever learning the fact there was another faction of force users, until his master's first encounter with a jedi since he became his apprentice. The jedi was killed, his lightsaber given to Rago as a "present", although the long blade made him uncomfortable while training, and his ship, an Aurek tactical strikefighter, taken by Nardo as his personal spoils of battle.
While the first years of his training were somewhat sedentary, spent for the most part learning to control the force, he spent most of his training completing assignments for his master. From topical commitments, like assassinating local political leaders, that threatened to expose them to the republic, to recovering ancient holocrons for teaching purposes, from far away planets, Rago completed every assignment his master sent him on, with little difficulty. His unique ability to influence powerful people, however, earned him the most respect in the eyes of his master.
Through years of training under Nardo Lekke, Rago became highly skilled in mathematics, physics and military tactics, the latter thanks to his master's extraordinary recollection of ancient battles. He narrated battles from previous wars as if he had been there himself. Also Rago, using his knowledge of physics, succeded in altering the blade of the lightsaber taken from the dead jedi years before, correcting the space between emmitter matrix and the lens, thus turning it into a "shoto". A shorter blade, combined with his natural speed and dexterity, mathematical precision, superior eyesight in short distances and his teachings in Makashi form, made him a deadly opponent in lightsaber combat. But his training was not limited to lightsaber prowess. His obvious proficiency in Precognition, Battle precognition, and his training in Force plague, his master's preferred force expression, forged him into a powerful adept of the dark side, although he had never truly fallen.
During the later years of his training, his master, Nardo, had become more cowardly, shutting himself inside his residence in Hosk Station, and sending Rago alone on ever more dangerous missions, secretly hoping he would not come back to him, but he always did. Even though it was obvious the man he called master had become nothing more than a sniveling weasel, Rago chose not to acknowledge his master's shattered will, but his anger multiplied exponentially. Having to refer to such a worthless excuse for a dark jedi as "master" made his insides burn with rage, until one day, after a completed mission, his master attempted to strike him with his lightsaber, but was easily overpowered by Rago who was now 20. After the battle, Rago claimed and tore apart his master's lightsaber, then tore apart his own, and with the pieces, he constructed a beautifully crafted, yet simply designed shoto, with his master's focusing crystal creating a Dark red blade. Also, with his former master dead, Rago took claim of Nardo's strikefighter for his own. This event, completed Rago's fall towards the dark side.
Having reached the rank of knight, by killing his former master, Rago spent 8 more years looking to expand his knowledge of military tactics, chasing the old holocrons with recorded battles from the Mandalorian wars, and the Jedi civil war, throughout the galaxy. Lending his services as a tactician to feuding crimelords, and without them suspecting, guiding them down roads leading only to their own destruction, and manipulating local governments from the shadows were his way of "enjoying the force", as he called it. Eventually, however, the need to pass on what he had learned got the best of him. The will of the dark side led him to the planet Balmorra, and to a young Twi'lek who served as a dancer at the cantina, in the town of Bin Prime.
Rago took a job, as the leader of the band at the cantina, so he would be able to observe the twi'lek more closely without alerting the hutts to his true intentions. Her name was Balopa Erdo'kre. That first night they talked for hours; Rago appeared so wise and controlled, perhaps too wise for a mere kloo horn player in a junkyard town. She suspected him, and after a few days of conversation, he revealed himself to her. He told her the reason why the force bound them in that place, and his intentions to train her in the dark side of the force, but before that, she had to break free of all attachments still holding her in Bin Prime. Eager to leave the planet that enslaved her, she agreed to sever all ties, which meant buying (or otherwise) her own freedom from her handler.
Without her knowing, Rago spoke to Balopa's handler, and convinced him she was worth far more than what she could pay, therefore arranging it so that she could not buy her own freedom. After talking to her handler, and learning the new price for her freedom, she was devastated. The Bith's words taunted her inside her head. They spoke of revenge, and releasing her anger, which she did...
After stabbing her handler with his own vibroblade, she entered a state which could only be known as force rage, that ended with the demise of every sentient in the cantina, except for herself, and Rago. Balopa fell into a deep sleep after her involuntary communion with the force, but was carried outside by the dark jedi, and the both booked passage to Onderon.
In Onderon, her training commenced in secret. Using the parts leftover from the construction of his own saber, she created a somewhat poorly crafted training saber, but it was enough for their immediate purpose; lightsaber combat training. She learned the ways of the shii-cho rather quickly, and was beginning to control the force rage that allowed her freedom, although patience and discipline were two lessons she never fully learned. Nevertheless, Rago deemed her ready to take on a few missions off-world alone, but unlike his master before him, while his apprentice was away, he trained harder than ever, fact that, in the end played a major part in Balopa's subsequent fall.
Rago's young apprentice was careless with her first few assingments, which caused her master to lose faith in her, but when the occasion called for aggression, she excelled by letting loose her force rage ability, but not all missions required combat. This was a fact she cared little for, until the day she failed one such mission, by enraging a local crime boss and losing the subsequent battle against his bodyguards. She was captured, but rescued two days later by Rago, who, after taking her back to their lair, punished her severely for her failure.
Ten years passed after they first met. Balopa had become a fully capable young apprentice, but she was still reckless in her actions, fact that ultimately caused her demise. She fell prey to the overconfidence that comes from attaining power, and eventually challenged her master. Her lack of patience, discipline, and confidence in his master's lack of practice caused her to lose control during the duel, which led to her death.
Rago, now at 38, relocates to the Belderone system. Through force induced visions, he has seen glimpses of the future. A future uncertain, clouded. However, through the dark side, two figures appear in his visions, and although he cannot see his faces, he is aware of the awesome power emanating from these beings. One word comes to mind... Sith. As he awaits the call of the dark side, he indulges in his favorite game: Crimelord manipulation.

The vision was clear. When his apprentice came back, she would attempt to kill him, while practicing with his kloo horn. Rago smiled. This did not worry him, for he knew this day would come, and had been preparing for it for a long time. The day his apprentice would challenge him, was finally upon them.
The Bith awaited her return from her latest assignment, practicing with his kloo horn, so she would not suspect Rago was warned before of her treachery, by his precognition. She walked into the alcove with a confident step about her, not knowing her master learned of her intentions beforehand, and was prepared for her attack.
"Did you complete your assignment, apprentice?"
"Yes, my master. Your will has been served, and that nosey agent will not bother us again."
"Excellent, apprentice. You may return now to your training."
"Yes master..." She started walking towards the door to her chambers, but halfway to, she halted, and turned back towards her master. He was ready, he had forseen this moment, and as she walked closer to him, her confidence turned slowly into fear.
"My master... There is one more thing..." She said, as her hand slowly crept towards her lightsaber. "What is it?" Replied Rago. She figured, with her master in a seated position, and unaware of her intentions, she could strike him down without it escalating into a full scale duel, which she would most likely lose.
"It would honor me if you would..." She grabbed her sword and swinged it while the blade was still emerging from its hilt, as fast as she could... "Die!!" Nevertheless, her attack came to no avail. Balopa's saber was stopped by her master's only 2 inches from his head, but although there had just been an attempt on his life, Rago showed no emotion. Calling upon the force, he pushed the Twi'lek away, and slammed her against the wall on the other side of the room. While she regained her stance the Bith master slowly stood up in front of her.
"You are weak, girl. You have always been weak, and for that, you now die...", he said, with a somewhat disappointed look on his face.
The confrontation was unavoidable, so as a final courtesy, he gave her the traditional Makashi salute, and the duel began...
