Faction Name: Dha Werda Verda (Warriors of Shadow)
Faction Purpose: Terrorism
Faction Planet: Myrkr
Financial wealth: Approximately one million credits in coffers at any given time.
Military assets: 1,000 trained fighters, roughly a hundred assorted small craft.
Form of Government: Theocratic oligarchy, led by ‘Council of Three.’
Traditionally the Council is composed of one religious leader and two accomplished fighters. In the event of the death of a member, the remaining two Councilors select the new member. If all the Councilors are killed, any fighter may claim the title if he can survive challenges requested of him.
The Council itself is responsible for the general direction of the Dha Werda Verda, in particular setting goals and devising plans. It also appoints regional commanders, and often takes direct involvement in planning attacks, especially major operations.
Faction History:
Some men just want to watch worlds burn. No statement could be truer for the group known as the Dha Werda Verda. It formed as an offshoot of the mainstream Mandalorian mythology, which told of a struggle between the deities Arasuum and Kad Ha’rangir. Originally, Mandalorians took it quite seriously. But they fell away from ‘the true path’ over centuries, preferring to look on the old religion as simply mythology and parables.
However, amongst the Dha Werda Verda it is far from mythology. It is the exact and literal truth. They formed fifty years ago as a religious sect devoted to the worship of Kad Ha’rangir, the god of destruction. They saw destruction of any kind as beneficial and inherently in god’s design. As such, they named themselves after the ancient chant and poem, which embodied the purest true traditions in their view.
The ash of the Taung beats strong within the Mandalorians' heart.
We are the rage of The Warriors of the Shadow,
The first noble sons of Mandalore.
Let all those who stand before us light the night sky in flame.
Our vengeance burns brighter still.
The gauntlet of Mandalore strikes without mercy.

The first noble sons of Mandalore.
Let all those who stand before us light the night sky in flame.
Our vengeance burns brighter still.
If not for the leadership of one man, they might have remained nothing but a small handful with a taste for chaos. Vedrin Tern was the first true leader of the Dha Werda Verda. He was a true believer in the cause, and a charismatic warrior during the Mandalorian uprising in 3703 BBY. In defeat, he saw divine work against his people for not remaining faithful enough to the cause of destruction. If they’d fought unconventionally against all kinds of targets, then maybe things would have been different.
He rallied together other true believers, with promises of a prosperous afterlife in stark contrast to the rather dismal new realities for Mandalorians. Die in the act of destruction and reap lavish rewards. The message resonated, over the years. Despite ups and downs, it gained increasing numbers of converts. Soon the real work started. No longer was it a few scattered murders in Mando space, it advanced to bombings and mass shootings.
And then they took on a successful formula. They didn’t care what kind of destruction they wreaked or who they targeted. But others did. They could get paid excellent money to wreak terror on others, then use that money to find more grandiose methods of causing mayhem.
By 3625 BBY, they were one of the leading names in terrorism across the galaxy. And then there was backlash. Rival organizations, security agencies, and both the Sith and Republic launched a major crackdown against them. The upper echelons of leadership were killed. Of the thousands of members scattered across a half dozen worlds, only one single outpost remained safe from the destruction. Myrkr.
It had been the site of a battle in the Mandalorian Wars, and given the high metal content in the foliage it wreaked havoc on sensors. The perfect location for a covert base, which is why it survived.
Since then, the surviving elements have worked hard to establish cells across the galaxy, and have worked out very discrete ways of receiving payment for selecting targets. Under the leadership of the new council of three, they stepped away from shootings and towards bombings. Suicide bombers, IEDs, speeder-bombs. They did it all.
