Even if it is a flop (which i doubt) it is still going to be fun to do the some of the stuff you can do in it.

I found most starwars games fun, even if they sucked. Maybe it's the fangirl in me.

Having never researched it, heard no more about it than on message boards and watched no more than the first trailer...I'm not optimistic. It looks like nearly every game coming out with next-gen technology: technology without depth. Its a game for everyone to easily destroy everything in their path with no more effort, thought or tactics than the pressing of "A" and the right trigger. Also I'm a little sceptical about the power of the Force, or more precisely your mysterious protagonist who, with little training from a half-robot who no longer uses the force himself, is strong enough to pull down an ISD from atmo(even forgetting the question of why the Empire would sacrifice an ISD for a child's playtoy), and the other wonderous catalogue of shiny Force effects he can do. Since when did the Force move from a mysterious energy to microscopic bacteria in your blood(to quote Robot Chicken) to a combination of nature and nuclear fission in the palm of your hand?'
Oh, as for preording...I tried it once. On Empire at War. Oh, the Collectors Edition too. And regretted all three decisions involved in that process the moment I started playing it. No matter how great a game looks in previews you never have a full picture until the reviews show up. Better to wait three days to get the full-scope than waste $60 dollars on fanboydom. At least in my world.

Harbinger, the Midi-chlorian count isnt what causes the force. They use the bacteria to measure force potential. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Midi-chlorianEither way.. back to the game. I agree with you on the preorder, the only reason i would ever preoder is if i wanted the game badly, no matter how much it might suck. -points at Halo 3 and Halo wars (not out yet)-

Game looks great. I loved all the old Dark Forces 1 & 2 plus Jedi Outcast. This game seems like that kind of fun to me. Planning to get it for PC and PSP so I can get the uber physics and graphics as well as some time killer on the bus to school. Looking forward to the demo in a week!

I liked empire at war, so there. I have both it and the expansion, and playing multiplayer LAN parties with it (and about 100 mods for it) is damn fun.
