Still waiting to hear from Meira about some sort of decision in terms of mechanics. I haven't spoken to her or seen her around much lately so I'm guessing she's pretty busy at the moment.

OK, sorry everyone for taking so long. My younger sister graduated last week and we've had all kinds of family in town. Add that on top of having to move all kinds of stuff at my work and well... I was busy.

But now I'm here and I'm ready to give my verdict on the mechanic thing.

While I really enjoyed reading both character profiles, I feel that Viktor is more suited to our crew. I say this because we need a full time mechanic character, which is what I believe Viktor can be. Darken would be an interesting addition to the crew, but I think her skills and character in general deserve more freedom. In the bio, it says she is a mercenary who gets by on being a mechanic when she needs to, but we need a little more long term than that.

Now, that's not to say that our crew might run into Darken some time, but as it stands, I'm going to have to go with Viktor.

Thank you both for your patience. And of course, if any other member of the crew has something to say, please do. While my character might be the captain, I am not the boss of you guys, and I would appreciate your input.

I understand your decision, makes sense. My character does need freedom.
Would you it be possible for my character to join the crew on a temporary basis? Maybe not even as a mechanic but as general labour...
I'm new here and am looking to get started in order to meet other people.

Well, the idea is to also have people we work with on missions here and there who might be reoccuring. If your character helps out the crew/Palas I don't see why she couldn't tag along for a mission here or there.

Cool, grats for your sis btw. Looking forward to seeing how your char turns out darken, to semi quote Meira, enjoyed reading it. Once you find her something to do, she should do fine. I'm not just saying that, either. If I may make a suggestion on getting started, you can always start a thread, people probably will jump in and you have a rp going. Looking forward to getting started, thats for sure.

The current thread on Kuras VI takes place before the one on Tatooine, and I believe it's not finished yet.

Okay, so with the last wave of inactivity, the Jewel finds itself with a few people signed up to join that are no longer about. So, we want to start searching for replacements for the three slots we have left. Now, this can be open to characters that have already been made or to any who are thinking of making/developing a character that would be able to fit the one of the roles listed below. Now, even if there’s just a whisper of possibility that you might make a character then speak to one of us. I’m often on MSN and usually willing to discuss characters and such. So, here’s a brief overview of the three roles, just remember that these are only the roles, your character’s quirks and such are all down to you, though will play a part in our decision since we do want an interesting group.

1. This role, essentially, is one of a fighter, likely to be one of, if not the, main ‘muscle’ of the group. There are those in the crew that currently have some skills in the use of a blaster or the ability to hold their own for a little while (mainly Palas) but there needs to be someone who’s primary role is to go into missions and come out alive. After all, the universe is dangerous and the Jewel might not survive unless they have someone capable of filling this role.

2. This role is for a ‘Grey Jedi’ of sorts, also likely to be a fighter such as above, but to also be connected to the Force. More interesting factors will include things like on the run from Jedi or some other group/faction. They don’t really have to be overly powerful (as weaknesses make this group far more interesting) but they will have to be trying to keep their connection to the Force a secret, simply because Palas doesn’t really hold much trust for Force users and wouldn’t willingly allow one on her crew. A good background will be key here as we can have the character’s past ‘catch up with them’ at some point (though this is something I’d keep in mind for all the character positions).

3. Finally there’s the role of ‘Mechanic’ or ‘Engineer’ as it were. There are a few people on the ship who have experience with repairs but none of them really excel in those areas, we need someone to fill the role of the ship’s main mechanic to keep the boat afloat. The Jewel’s already wound up in a few entanglements and it typically comes out with some scrapes, they need someone who can help keep things running smooth and clean up the battle wounds.

So those are, in a nutshell, the three ‘roles’ we’re searching for. Remember that we’re open to suggestion and I’m willing to discuss even the slightest idea for a character. So just post your interest in here or try and reach myself or Meira. We really want to try and fill these positions up as soon as possible. I look forward to hearing from some people .

But then, I'm not sure if I could join. Trinsik's dream was to be a spacer (explorer, mostly) and since he's become a Jedi, tries to take more exploration and combat-styled missions. I don't know how much free/personal time Jedi have, but if you think it'd work out, I'd join.
