A Diminutive Child
Though Togoria had been conquered by the Mandalorians; Togorian's were rare in Mandalorian society. Tal'akaan's clan was an oddity among those on Shogun, but no less Mandalorian then the others. The clan of Jorso'ran were known for their exceptionally fierce warriors even among Togorians and Mandalorians. Akaan's parents were surprised and even more disappointed when their new born seemed to be small. Their clan had bred Togorians who had tended to be larger and fiercer than the average.
His parents though disappointed did not believe that anyone of their relation could be weak, let alone their own son. Instead they granted him with a powerful name but one which placed a heavy burden. Jorso'ran....The bearer...it was his duty to bear the clan name of Tal'akaan. He wondered to this day, what he would have become if his parents had given him a different name.
Tal'akaan began training at the age of three as any other Mandalorian child would. There were constant whispers among his clan that he would not become a true warrior. Tal'akaan refused to let these whispers deter him, instead they motivated him to train harder. His size was not the only thing that set him apart, he was also intelligent. It hadn't taken very long for his parents and mentors to realize this.
He was not only being trained in the way of combat but also in the way of strategy. The Togorians were not known for their thinkers but one or two came around every so often. He refused to be thought as a thinker though, and trained harder everyday. He was adamant of remaining true to the Resol'Nare-Ba'jur, beskar'gam, Ara'nov, aliit, Mando'a bal Mand'alor- An vencuyan mhi.
Tal'akaan had trained and studied hard for 13 years; it was finally time for his Verd'goten. Each Mandalorian underwent a coming of age trial to prove that he or she was ready to be a warrior. Togorian's tended to hold their own one, seeing as how they would probably tear a limb off a normal man. Tal'akaan was pitted against another one of the upcoming children of the clan. He was a good deal bigger than Tal'akaan, and weapons were not to be used in this fight. They both gave a great roar and charged each other, ground shaking slightly as they did. They exchanged multiple blows, but Tal'akaan refused to fall. The battle had been going on for awhile now, and both were nearing their limits. The opponent charged him and sent a haymaker flying towards him. Tal'akaan shifted to right ever so slightly, and grabbed the other togorians arms. Using his opponents momentum, he let out a feral roar, and threw the Togorian over his shoulder. His opponent landed with a loud crash, and did not get up.
He was a child no longer, and a warrior of the Tal'akaan clan. The tough times were only just beginning though. His intelligence was not wasted as soon Tal'akaan found himself planning various missions for the clan. Like many Mandalorian clans, they became mercenaries when Mandalore did not have need for them. He had helped his clan a great deal in this respect. It was during these mercenary runs that Tal'akaan displayed an aptitude for flying. Most of his kind didn't seem to like space, but he enjoyed it greatly. He continued to hone his skills in flying freighters since he couldn't fit into a fighter. He never stopped training though, he made sure of that. He knew that battle could come anytime and anywhere, and he would be ready for it. He had no idea that he could have been so right.
The Republic and Mandalorians had a very rocky cease fire between them since technically a majority of the Mandalorian planets had been under Republic control. There had been talks of insurrection though, and kicking the Republic out of their homes. It began on Mandalore, where their leader had forced the Republic off planet, he was 17 at the time. Rumors of cells and clans joining together on Shogun became louder, and the Republic was getting edgy. The Mandalorian's had not expected the Republic to make the first move. He smelled an unfamiliar presence in the air one night. He wasn't the only one who had noticed it, for there were others outside. Suddenly the night was filled with red as blasters were fired into the camp. Many of his kinsmen fell in the first barrage. The Republic made a mistake in trying to eliminate his clan, and they paid a steep price.
Tal'akaan, along with his parents grabbed whatever weapons they could muster. He wasn't much a fan of a blaster, so he grabbed a massive spear which he trained with daily. With his parents, they managed to flank the soldiers, and tore through them like raw meat. He had never been so filled with rage before, and he had never seen his parents in such a state. He fell into the bloodlust, letting his spear fly into a soldier, skewering him. He didn't need a spear to kill though, his claws were more than enough. An hour later they found themselves in the center of their camp with the other survivors. They had managed to kill off the Republic soldiers, but there were only two other survivors besides themselves. Hearing that Shogun would soon be overrun, they decided to travel to Concord Dawn.
New home, New friends, Same losses
Getting off Shogun had not been easy, but Tal'akaan's piloting skills were well known among his clan. Upon their arrival to Concord Dawn, they found it in quite a different situation. Though the Republic seemed to have control on the outside, the militia was running rampant. They had been prepared on Concord Dawn; the militia was well organized. After hearing of how his clan had fallen, they accepted Tal'akaan and his family with open arms. The three would prove to be useful assets throughout the course of the militia's movements.
Tal'akaan was slightly older than 20 and his reputation in the militia rivaled those twice his age. He was known for being fierce and brave but yet not foolhardy. He was soon leading missions on his own for the militia. His squad was one of the most efficient in the entire militia and was causing the Republic much grief. He was slowly moving up the ranks in the militia. His only regret was that he could not fight alongside his parents anymore. His father had been crippled on a mission from a grenade. Family was the most important thing to a Mandalorian, so he forbade his mother from fighting anymore. The phrase aliit ori'shya tal'din ringing loud in his thoughts...he would bring glory to the Tal'aakan clan.
For years he had fought against the Republic on Concord Dawn, running missions day after day. The militia needed his talent elsewhere, they claimed he was command material. He was only 25 but he was one of the main commanders of the Concord Dawn militia. Though he was the youngest, he was given the hardest task, he had to command their navy. The militia only had a small navy but he soon put them to good use. Tal'akaan employed largely hit and run tactics, aiming to frustrate rather than cause large damage.
He had spent much of his time in space once he was appointed to deal with the navy. He didn't have much chance to go to the surface due to the risks. One of the rare occasions when he got to go to ground was in the 28th year of his life. On his arrival he was informed of the death of his parents. It seemed they had died of an unknown illness a few months earlier. Tal'akaan had seen so much death, but the death of his parents made his knees weak. He refused to succumb to grief, for he knew his parents would be disgusted if he did such a thing. It was only then that he realized he truly was Tal'Akaan Jorso'ran....The Bearer of Blood War. He was now the last surviving member of his clan, it hit him hard.
It was only two years later after the death of his parents, did they finally push the Republic out of Concord Dawn. It had been years of fighting, setbacks, and losses but they finally regained Concord Dawn. The rest of the other Mandalorian planets aside from Mandalore were still under Republic control. He knew that would soon change, it was only a matter of time. Tal'akaan was informed that he had been summoned to Mandalore by Mandalore himself. With exhaustion but hope and pride, he set forth for Mandalore.
Mandalore had said that Tal'akaan's accomplishments had not gone unnoticed. He was to be automatically be given the rank of captain, and command of whichever ship he chose. He chose the cruiser by the name of Te'darasuum(The Eternity). Though the Mandalorian Navy was lacking ships, the ones they had were quite capable. Tal'akaan had been given a great honor, and he would persevere, for the glory of his clan.
The first three years of his captaincy lacked many real battles, and more exercises. He spent those three years working on maneuvers and getting the Navy in sync. Many of the key Navy personnel had been lost in the initial battle against the Republic. Almost every admiral had been killed or was too old to serve. Mandalore had taken promising candidates and militia veterans and made them prove themselves. Tal'akaan's reputation from Concord Dawn had spread throughout the Mandalorian colonies, and he garnered respect from many.
It wasn't until the 4th year of training and minor skirmishes that Tal'akaan once again met with Mandalore. He was to be promoted to the rank Rear-Admiral for his efforts of the last four years. He felt undeserving for such an honor, for he had not done much the last four years. Mandalore explained that the Navy respected him, and that was the mark of a true leader. He was not only an exceptional soldier but a symbol of pride for all Mandalorians. Such words of praise from Mandalore himself, Tal'aakan could only mumble thanks at that point. Once again he had been given a great honor, and once again he vowed to persevere for the sake of Mandalore and his clan.
His new rank also meant that he had been given newer and more important missions. He was now in charge of more than a third of the Navy. Instead of minor skirmishes, he was to begin to tangle with the Republic. The Mandalorian's resources and numbers were on the up, and they were going to begin their push. Tal'akaan finally had a chance to really prove himself to Mandalore, he did not disappoint either. His campaigns over the next 5 years were marked with success and success. They weren't overly large, but many small victories created a larger one.
As his successes increased, so did his rank. He had moved to Vice-Admiral only two years after his promotion to rear-admiral. It was another three years after that, and he was promoted to a full Admiral. Tal'akaan was one of the very few leaders, whose orders came directly from Mandalore himself. He had no superiors aside from Mandalore, and commanded half the fleet. Though he commanded half the fleet; he commanded the respect of the entire Navy.
Tal'akaan continued to fight hard for many years after his promotion to Admiral. The main problem that they faced, was still the fact that they lacked ships. He could not launch any sort of offensive that could truly damage the Republic. It wasn't until Tal'akaan was almost 45 that things began to change. The Mandalorian revival had begun and Mandalore had ordered the Special Operations team on a mission. A mission that brought him his capital ship, The Tenacity, a battleship of immense firepower. This capital ship signified that the Mandalorian Navy was now a force to be reckoned with. Mandalore,Mandel Motors, and Tal'akaan had all closely worked together and had began producing a Navy slowly but surely. The time for Mandalorians to rise again had come, and with that Tal'akaan was given the rank of Fleet Admiral. He had commanded the entire Navy through respect, now it was official.
Tal'akaan was ready to strike the Republic swiftly and without mercy...

Tal'akaan paced back and forth on the bridge of the Te'Darasuum. He didn't like waiting, not when he new there was an enemy out there. Their were supposed to be Republic forces here, but when they had arrived out of hyperspace, he had only found space.
"Check the data again to make sure we have the right coordinates" his gruff voice commanded the intelligence officer.
"Intelligence points to this quadrant Admiral..."was the response he got from the officer.
He let out a low growl, which would scare most people, but his crew was used to it. It would be embarrassing if they had screwed up the coordinates. It had happened before, not on his ship of course, but people made mistakes. Suddenly red lights started flashing, and various alarms started going off.
"Admiral!multiple ships reverting from Hyperspace!"
He watched as multiple Republic frigates suddenly appeared in the space that was once open. Tal'akaan didn't need a computer to tell him they had greater numbers then he did.
"Fighters coming our way sir!"
The warning had shook him out of his reverie and his mind whirred as it sprang into action.
"Launch all fighters and prepare to fire port batteries! Turn Starboard 30 degrees, lets see if we can't flank these cowards!"His roaring voice dominating the sound in the bridge.
A feral grin spread across the Fleet Admiral's face as a thought crossed his mind.
