Rank:
Sergeant
Name:
Luke Taltren
Race:
Human
Age:
26
Height:
6'0
Weight:
187 lbs. (Without armor)
200 lbs. (With armor)
Birth place:
Aboard a Frigate known as Star Surfer VIII.
Appearance:
He has dirty blonde hair that is in a nice cropped cut, and easily fits into his helmet. His eyes are hazel and his skin is pale. You'll find his build to be moderately muscled, but not at all lacking in strength. His face is gentle, despite the gruesome work of a soldier. His armor is black and dark green, good for both forest and urban use. When not in his armor, he often times wears a white t-shirt with a black vest, and black pants.
Personality:
Luke is the kind of person that would rather sacrifice a few hostages to wipe out a cruiser, rather than go rescue them, but would give a child his last sip, a fellow soldier his last clip of ammo, and go hungry for a week to feed his men if he is commanding any. He won't do you wrong if you don't do him wrong. In general conversation he is rather humorous, although quiet at times. On the battlefield, it's tough to find somebody with a more serious face and attitude.
Attributes:
Physical Strength: 5
Intelligence: 5
Speed: 6
Leadership: 4
Unarmed: 5
Melee Weapons: 4
Ranged Weapons: 7
Bio:
Being born on a frigate, he hadn't truly had a home planet. Around the age of eight, the frigate he lived on was destroyed by pirates. Escape shuttles were launched but the only one that had made it through was the one Luke was on. His parents had stayed behind due to lack of space. The shuttle eventually put him on a Republic world, in a city. He was put into an orphanage. The orphanage however was a bit rough, and he had to fight for any of the good food. A military soldier, a Colonel, had found him fighting off other hungry little gremlins (children) for food. He saw how resilient and tough the child was and took him in, introducing him into an more satisfying world of discipline and companionship amongst a squad upon being old enough to serve.
The Colonel was careful about how his adopted son was treated, giving him the military discipline and lifestyle of a soldier, but still allowing him playtime and the chance to be a kid. There were other officers with children, and Luke often played with them. By the time the Colonel died, Luke was grown up and ready to be a soldier. He started out as most did, being an infantryman with a squad. Luke seemed to be the lucky one of the squad, being the only survivor after a year of service, his squad mates dying one by one. Luke didn't want a new squad after that, and requested for sniper training, spending a straight year honing his skills in the use of scoped weaponry, primarily snipers. Out of the arsenal of weapons he had experimented with, he found an older rifle to be his favorite, passing up the newer models. Over time it took minor aesthetic damage, but he believed it added character. He had knicks and scratches all over the gun, and had carved the image of a skull and crossbones onto the side.
Luke has average hand-to-hand combat training, his only ace in the hole when fighting the average soldier unarmed being his superb speed, helping him to get the upper hand in a fast paced fight.
Going solo also means he had to learn a lot of things on the battlefield. Such as how to use a computer to get important schematical info, or maps to the areas, as well as access codes to doors or otherwise. His Computer Use skills also allow for him to take out enemies by over-riding their own security systems, for an ironic death by "friendly fire". Luke’s abilities are limited with computer slicing, as anything with a high-security encryption is essentially untouchable. He usually can only gain access to the lower security areas by himself. Anything beyond that will require him to bring hardware along specifically designed to hack high-end systems.
His repair skills are based on the fact that modifying or repairing enemy droids for his own use can be useful for busting into places, keeping his ass covered on the field, or creating distractions. On the other hand, if he can’t get a pickup, he can repair or hack a ship in the enemy’s hangar to escape. Very useful for infiltration and when escaping said infiltrations. His repair skills are also limited. Minor repairs and simple hacks in terms of droids and ships are as far as he can go. Anything requiring high levels of experience and training are beyond his abilities.
Luke is currently a Sergeant, and will not allow himself to get past the range of Sergeant ranks that exist until he is too old to operate in the field, in which then he will allow to be promoted to other ranks.
Luke has basic piloting skills when it comes to space and planetary flight. He cannot dogfight nor can he pull off special maneuvers, but general flight to escape or simply to travel, can be accomplished.
RP Sample:
Luke hit the ground and rolled, having to jump out of his drops up after landing in a tree. It was quite literally the only way to land as the only clearance for a hundred miles in any direction was the base he was about to hit. Before exiting the dropship, he rigged it to blow for when he escaped, so it couldn't be recovered and scrapped for parts.
The sniper looked both ways before pulling his Commando Pistol from his holster and switching it to Stun, so the shot would be silent. The stun shot essentially would knock any guy out from about thirty yards for a few hours, unless given a high powered adrenaline shot, which could kill them depending on how strong their heart is.
Luke approached the facility through the forest, stepping carefully, his blackened stealth armor disappearing with him as he activated his stealth matrix. With nothing to witness his existence, he very slowly approached the front gate into the compound, a single guard posted at it, looking sleepy. It was only proper for a gentleman to assist another, and the man seemed in need of sleep, so Luke provided with a nice shot to the chest, putting him in a world of lullaby.
Luke climbed over the gate, as an opening and closing steel barrier with nobody going through would appear suspicious to others. Inside, te place looked a lot bigger then aerial images had seemed. Several large buildings and a couple turret nests throughout the yard, supported by two garages full of tanks and vehicles, consisted of the base.
He placed charges in secreted spots on the gate, and then went to the back gate and did the same. His last charges were difficult to figure out. Comms Relay? Or the best positioned turret nest...? Both had benefits to being destroyed... Luke debated for a minute before choosing to climb on top of the nearby giant satellite dish and place his last few charges across it, knowing it'd shatter the thing easy.
With exit points, and communications waiting to be detonated, he went through the open access hatch in front of the building where John Ranzoven, his target, was located...
