A familiar sight greeted Asyr Yevor as he stepped out of the Bohemian. Before him, past their little landing pad near the edge of a large plaza, the sweeping cityscape of Nar Shadaa spread out in all its seedy, run down glory.
He had a certain fondness for Nar Shadaa. Was it the most beautiful place in the Galaxy, or up to par with Coruscant? Hardly. But it was light years ahead of Taris, a place he'd gotten to know a little too well earlier in his youth.
But it wasn't even that, really, though he wouldn't be surprised if the fact that he'd not spent some segment of his life stranded on the moon had something to do with why he liked it. No, for all the changes he'd been through in the last near-decade, Nar Shadaa had been a constant, and oft-visited friend. If there was anywhere beyond the confines of the ships he'd lived on that he felt he could comfortably call home--what with his exile from his actual home--it would be Nar Shadaa.
He could only just imagine his father having an aneurysm at the thought.
Nar Shadaa was a good place though, so long as you remembered to keep a blaster on your hip and an extra knife tucked into the top of your boot. Asyr had all of those things and more, but that was par for the course for him. Best of all, though, he had free time, and a certain someone in his company who was along for a good time out in the city.
Kailani Quix was her name, and she was walked alongside him he stepped out of the little spaceport and into the city proper. The plaza was in front of them, filled with milling crowds of people going this way and that.
"Well, Ms. Kai, here we are," said Asyr, casually stuffing his hands into his coat pockets. "You, me, and nothing but time. Long as we make it back by mornin'." He'd be sure that was taken care of. Lordura had already almost left him once, and as much as he liked both Kai and Nar Shadaa, he didn't really fancy the thought of getting stranded. Again.
"So now, question is, what we do with all this time we've found ourselves with." He quietly chuckled under his breath and looked down at her with one of his wry little smiles. "I personally vote for a night of irresponsibility and debauchery, preferably with large amounts of alcohol."
Asyr looked back up to the city, his grin growing slightly further, and shrugged. "Buuut, that may just be me."

That day wasn't one of Kailani Quix's finest. In fact, by her standards it had been a rather unpleasant day. The morning started off with her waking up in her own bed with the deep, thudding pangs of a hangover, neither of which was a good sign. Like most pirates Kailani was superstitious, and starting a morning off in such a state meant nothing but trouble for the rest of the day. An ill omen she explained to her sympathetic crewmates as she lazed about the ship near useless, riddle with headaches and nausea.
The rest of the day went by in a similar fashion; Her headache didn’t seem to let up, despite the sips of rum she took throughout the day, determined to beat back the gremlin that pounded away at her mind, a fight between her and Timminy Flomes busted out when Kailani insisted on calling her Minnie. “How the hell was I supposed to know you didn’t like petnames?” Her shouting could be heard across the ship as the petite woman walked away exasperated. As well the documents Lordura needed translated just weren’t getting done, that particular region of Miss Quix’s mind was naturally on strike. Despite struggling through the work all day, only managing to get a rough Huttese translation done, the Rhodian version would have to wait until the next day.
Slowly, ever slowly the day dragged on and as they reached their port of Kailani was almost ready to call it quits, finally able to relax as the hangover left her mind quiet and cool. The rapping knock of Asyr Yevor had jolted her back from the nap the blonde had been slowly drifting into. His invite to wander about Nar Shaddaa was too irresistible to pass up. Her stomach had settled, the throbbing replaced with peace, it was about time she rejoined the land of the living.
Within moments the pair was out on the town, the Smuggler’s Moon their oyster. The city was alive with smugglers, shady dealers, drunks and lords, the woman in tight outfits walked the strip as men brawled or sung, brothers in arms as they wandered in and out of their favorite cantinas.
"So now, question is, what we do with all this time we've found ourselves with." Asyr said, cool blue eyes glancing down at her with a smirk slapped across his glowly pale face. Kailani, her mood light and good now couldn’t help but join in on the joke. "I personally vote for a night of irresponsibility and debauchery, preferably with large amounts of alcohol."
Aysr had been a shining star for the few weeks, bringing her to his ship, helping her find her place amongst the crew and even aiding in the agonizingly slow process of getting settled in. Not mention all of the fun times they had, on and off the ship.
"Buuut, that may just be me." He finished, staring out into the city.
“Pale face, you and I are on the same frellin’ page, lets get pissed.” She said, grabbing his large hand in hers, ready to run down the street towards her favorite dive, a cozy homey place by the name of Denny’s. The food was second rate, the drinks cheap, but the people were great.
Suddenly they arrived in front of the place, the windows shuttered and boarded up, the place looking thoroughly closed down.
“Blast! What happened to this place?” She said with a heavy frown, looking over the broken glass strewn streets, who could possibly close down Denny’s?

“Pale face, you and I are on the same frellin’ page, let's get pissed.”
Asyr chuckled at this, allowing Kai to take his hands. "Well, alright," he said, grinning mischievously at her. Suddenly his expression changed. His pale skin darkened his brow lined with deep furrows as the corners of his mouth turned down into something that was off somewhere between a snarl and a frown.
"I'm pissed!" he yelled. His voice carried so well that some bystanders and passers-by stopped and looked at him. No doubt they were wondering what was up with the large Echani, and what the woman standing beside him had to do with it.
The facade melted away as quickly as it appeared, and Asyr was all smiles again. He grinned broadly at Kai, eyes sparkling with mischievous amusement as he worked to keep down a laugh. "Alright, Ms. Kai. Lead the way."
Lead she did, and they took off at a run. She would be choosing their den tonight, as Asyr had done so at their last stop. Asyr trusted her tastes in places, though. Among other things.
It wasn't long before she had them slowing to a stop in front of some old dive. "Looks closed," Asyr muttered as he dropped his hands from Kailani's and walked up to the side of the building. What few windows there were that weren't boarded up were dark, and a heavy lock was hanging on the front door. In a sudden moment of curiosity, Asyr grabbed the lock and jiggled it around. It didn't budge, not that he'd been expecting it to.
“Blast! What happened to this place?”
"Dunno," he muttered as he walked around to one of the windows that he could see through. Some of the boarding had been put up askance, offering a crack he could use to peer inside. He squinted and strained, but he couldn't make out much. It was dark inside, beyond a few pitiful strands of light that fell in from other cracks or open windows. But they didn't show much of anything. The floor. A chair with some spiderweb hanging from one of the arms.
"Looks like it's been closed a while though... Wonder what happened." Maybe they'd just gone out of business or something.
After a few more moments of fruitless peering, Asyr backed away from the window and turned to Kai with a shrug of his broad shoulders. "Well, looks like that option's off the table, Ms. Kai." He brushed some hair that had gotten pushed around out of his eyes and sighed through his nose, looking up and down the street. "Have anywhere else in mind?"
