Family History:
Tor's father Jahn came from a family of Firrerreo gun-makers who crafted
customized blasters of all types for those who could pay. The skill
was passed down from father to son and Jahn kept this tradition
when he started his own family with Deliah, a saucy computer
technician, slicer, and expert holographer. Jahn had learned the
trade well, and it soon became his life-long fascination and
hobby. As he grew, his desire to see their weapons in action
likewise grew. And so, Jahn set out as a mercenary and "gun for
hire." It was at this time in his life that he came into contact with
Mandalorians. Needless to say, they got along very well and he
was eventually adopted into the Mando culture. That's when he
met Deliah; and so remaining true to the Resol'nare, or the
Six Acts, Jahn raised his family in the ways of the Mando'ade.
Tor's mother Deliah came from an average family on Zeltros. Her
love for technology manifested itself early on, and she landed her
first job as a computer tech. in her mid-teens. By her twenties,
she took a job at one of the numerous night clubs where she
headed up a project to design and install a next-generation
holographics system. The project met with much success and
increased the establishment's popularity, allowing her to reach
new heights in her career. She was in one of many transitions in
employment when she met Jahn. Then all the flirting and dating
happened, followed by a marriage and the birth of their son Tor.
Concord Dawn: (Birth to Eight Years Old)
Most of the Otani family wasn't wild about the idea of Jahn
becoming a Mandalorian. To avoid family-feuding, Jahn and his
then pregnant wife moved to a homestead on Concord Dawn.
Starting a new life there was no easy task, but Jahn and Deliah
were in their prime and weren't about to give up on their life
together. Their determination along with the accomodating
disposition of their fellow Mandos helped this new family to find
their new place in the galaxy.
Soon after, Tor was born, the prodigy of the new Mando-Otani
lineage. Unlike most Mando fathers, Jahn did not wait until his
son reached the age of three before he took part in his tutelage.
During his infancy, Tor's parents made it a point to speak both
Galactic Basic and Mando'a so that he would grow up fluent in
both languages. As a toddler, Tor learned to recite the
Resol'nare as well as other basic tenets of the Mandalorians.
Jahn worked to pass on the Otani's blastersmithing legacy while
Deliah endeavored to convey her considerable technical skill to
her son. Tor's fluid little mind absorbed it all, his innate Zeltron
enthusiam vying for more. By the age of eight Tor was able to
identify several types of weapons, dismantle and reassemble
most blasters, and perform basic blaster upgrades. He also
learned how to use computers, create basic programs, and
manufacture his very own holograms.
The Nagi Excursion: (Tor, Age Eight & Nine)
During Tor's first mercenary mission with his parents, the Otani
gained a new family member. They had been hired to fight off Tof
invaders, and while doing so they discovered an orphaned Nagai
girl the same age as Tor. The Otani completed the job, returned
to Concord Dawn, and adopted the girl, naming her A'den. **
**See RP sample.
Moving to Dxun: (Tor, Age 10 to 16)
Two years after adopting A'den, the Otani decided to move to
Dxun, where their skills could be put to better use. Tor loved his
desert home, but A'den was happy to get away from the heat
and constant sunlight. Before the move, A'den had ironically
earned the nickname "Sunshine." Now ten years old, the Otani
children had to focus on preparing for the Verd'goten trials.
Tor continued to develop his technical skills, as well as his
considerable talent with blasters. Jahn focused on helping A'den
correct her approach to ranged weapons. Upon discovering her
peculiar aptitude with blades, A'den trained in melee and
unarmed tactics, where her strength and toughness came into
good use.
The Verd'goten (Tor, Age 13)
That year's trials was to be one of strength and cunning.
Tor and A'den's Verd'goten (along with all the other thirteen
year olds of the village) was to be a capture-the-flag race. Each
contestant was given a wristband sensor that coordinated with
the sensor on the flag itself so that it could be determined who
had held it the longest. The children would have to brave the
wilderness for two days with only a single weapon to back them.
They would be evaluated based on how long they held the flag
and what place they took crossing the finish line.
The first day was mostly spent searching for the location of the
flag. After that, it was all just a question of how long they could
keep ahold of it before one of the others wrested it from them.
When Tor got ahold of the flag, he chose to hide rather than
attempt to outrun the others. Sunshine had the advantage with
the latter strategy; her strong frame and constant ventures into
the jungle allowed her to carry on, ignoring the scratches,
scrapes, and bruises that running through the tangled wilderness
earned the contestants. Tor used his time with the flag to
reprogram the sensor. Now, no matter who actually had held it
the longest, the sensor would show the I.D. signature from his
wristband. Not long after he started back on the trail, Tor was
wrestled to the ground and the flag was taken from him.
It was the second day. Tor had spent the night in a tree,
concealing himself with the vines and other foliage. He spent the
entirety of the day getting to the finish line so that he could
ambush the flag-holder before they crossed it. It was nearly
sunset before the contestant holding the flag finally came within
reach. Using several vines to trip him, Tor left his hideout and
took up the flag once again. Seconds later, he crossed the finish
line and emerged the victor.
However, Tor didn't let himself celebrate until his sister A'den
came across the finish line. He didn't have to wait long, she came
in third place.
The adults supervising the Verd'goten eventually found out
what Tor had done. Rather than punishing him however, they
merely commended his cleverness.
Snatched: (Tor, Age 17 to 19)
A'den had developed the habit of running off into the jungle to
explore and to have some time to herself. One evening though,
she didn't return. The ensuing search led Tor and his parents out
further into the wilderness than A'den had generally been known
to venture. Then they discovered signs of a scuffle in which A'den
had apparently been subdued. There was no trace of her, save
for the DH-23 pistol her parents had given to her. It had to be a
clue. There was no bounty on her, and she hadn't been killed - it
had to be slavers.
Tor, Jahn, and Deliah would spend the next two years scouring
the galaxy for her. During this time, Tor's psyche became
disturbed, obsessed with regaining his lost sister. His ability to
suppress emotion when he needed to took the form of a dual-
personality, it was the only way for his mind to cope. Tor started
to be known as "Blasterfiend" during this period - at first a joke,
but it didn't stay that way for long. Tor's parents would refer to
his usual state of mind as Tor'ika and his fearsome, emotionally
detached state as Orar'ika.
Finally, the Otani trio zeroed in on A'den's location - it was a
slaver compound. With a strike force of twenty fully-armed and
armored Mandalorians, the Otanis rained havoc on the slavers.
Infiltrating the caged corridors where the slaves were kept,
Orar'ika found his sister. She and a Wookiee had just then been
leading a riot against their captors, freeing all the slaves they
could. A'den, along with most of the slaves, were rescued that
day. And the Wookiee that had helped A'den break free went
with them back to Dxun where he was adopted into the Otani
clan.
The Scarlet Sabre: (Tor, Age 20 to 22)
Tor and his sister spent the next two years completing projects
and furthering their skills. Tor mostly spent his time developing
advanced HUD systems and perfecting the use of blasters. He
also spent more and more time with his friend Cirith An'Gol.
Cirith, Tor, and A'den soon formed themselves into a bounty
hunter / mercenary crew.
The Smuggler's Moon (Tor, Age 21)
To assist with the rebuilding of the once great Mandalorian
empire, the An'Gols and the Otani were instructed to provide
armor and weaponry for a supply cache being held temporarily
on Nar Shaddaa. A Mandalorian there owned a storage facility /
warehouse, a perfect place to store the items for a while. Cirith
and his crew were picked to make the delivery.
Once they landed on Nar Shaddaa, a messenger appeared,
giving Cirith a datapad. The man was an employee of the Mando
who owned the storage facility. The 'pad told them that their
Mando contact had become suspicious that someone was
snooping around his warehouse and that their timetable would
subsequently be pushed back three hours. Having little else to
do, the trio headed to the nearby cantina White Rancor for a
drink. Cirith and A'den soon left the establishment however; they
didn't like the atmosphere of the place. Tor though, stayed for a
few drinks and some 'socializing.'
After about an hour had passed, Tor went in search of Sunshine
and found that she had taken a bouncer gig to pass the time. **
**See 'Sunshine' A'den Otani's RP sample.
Tor stayed long enough to hear about the bar-fight Sunny and
Cir had been in at a cantina called the Laughing Mynock and then
headed back to the Scarlet Sabre to meet up with Cirith. The
two of them spent a few minutes making some final touches to
the probe droid Cirith had long been working on.
A'den returned not long after, still wearing the uniform her
temporary employer had given her for the bouncer gig; it looked
like a school-girl outfit out of a holodrama. After suiting back up,
Sunshine, Tor, and Cirith headed to the storage facility with the
supply crates. They found a dismembered protocol droid strapped
to a streetlight just outside the entrance of the warehouse. First,
it cried out for their help, but as they got closer it started asking
them questions. When it asked them if they knew a bounty was
on their heads, the three Mandos set the crates down and drew
their weapons. Soon enough, a short, reptile-like alien stepped
out from inside the warehouse. When they trained their weapons
on him, the alien pulled a strap on the travel pack he was
wearing. Thirty thermal detonators poured out of the pack,
rolling everywhere. Orar'ika took control of Tor's thoughts, telling
him to stall the alien so that he wouldn't vape them all. Before
his body reacted, Cirith pulled off a shot with his DC-15 style rifle.
The shot went wide however, striking the side of the adjoining
building as the alien moved forward, unphased. By the time Tor
had turned and aimed at the short reptilian again, the alien was
kneeling in front of his sister, saying something of an apology and
vowing to serve the house of somebody named Marcus Foxworth.
As Orar'ika's consciousness withdrew, Tor wondered who
Foxworth was, it didn't sound like a Nagai name, so what
did it have to do with A'den'ika? A few seconds later, the alien
gave his sister a different name, one that Tor didn't think he
could pronounce, much less remember. A'den though, must've
recognized it because she hesitantly accepted the creature's
"service."
A minute later, the short alien turned suddenly and stepped
between Sunshine and the structure to the storage facility's right
as if to shield her from some sort of impending danger. Tor
switched his HUD to nightvision and checked the rooftop of the
adjacent building but found nothing. Switching the nightvision off,
he was about to inquire of Cirith if he saw anything when
something emerged from the shadows to his left. Slowly, the
figure revealed himself, hands open in front of him in a sign of
peace. It was a humanoid wolf, almost like some kind of werewolf
from an old holoflick. The Wolfman said something about how
they were all on the same side, that they had all been tricked;
this relieved the tension of the situation.
Tor and A'den stayed to talk with the two aliens as Cirith went
inside the warehouse to see what had happened to their
Mandalorian contact. When he came back out, he was carrying
the man's body with him. The body had several blaster-burns,
near point-blank by the look of it. Seeing nothing else to do,
Cirith decided to take the supply crates and the body with them
back to Dxun; there they would give the man a proper burial.
The Noghri Je'Baru (as he had identified himself) accompanied
the Mandos on the Scarlet Sabre and the Shistavanen Katar
(as he had likewise identified himself) would follow them in his
ship.
Once they got back to Dxun, Cirith went to explain the situation
to the higher-ups while Tor gave A'den some time alone to talk to
the Noghri by taking Katar to his workshop in order to equip the
Wolfman with a few non-lethal items. After that, Katar approached
Cirith about leaving his Interceptor there on Dxun so that he
could join them on the Scarlet Sabre. Since Je'Baru and his
sister were still talking, Tor busied himself by completing Cirith's
probe droid.
Soon enough, Cirith's crew had gained two new members, and
they all had gained new friends. Now all they had to decide was
where to go from there...

-Mandalorian Scout Armor
Tor's armor is relatively light and is
designed for mobility since he often
employs rolls and other acrobatics in
battle. The undersuit is desert camo
(made of micronized beskar) that
doubles as a flight-suit. Tor has lots of
belts and pouches so that he can easily
carry tools and other equipment, and
his armor boasts a small shield generator
of Tor's own making. The helmet is outfitted
with lots of nifty gadgets. The HUD allows
for 360 vision as well and advanced battle
optics. The helm also houses a long range
comms system.
-K90 Carbine
Tor's father Jahn gave this
prized weapon to his son after
he completed the Verd'goten.
The rifle boasts a scope, laser-sight,
and cooling vents on the barrel to
further reduce the chance of over
-heating. It has basically been mod
-ified so that it can be used as a
sniper weapon, boasting inter
-changeable ammo capabilities.
-T-6 Thunderer (x2)
Tor's first weapons. These
heavy blaster pistols have been
modified heavily: they boast inter
-changeable ammunition capabilities,
the recoil has been all but nullified,
and measures have been taken to
greatly reduce any chance of over
-heating.
-Besbev War Flute
Tor learned how to play the
Besbev from a retired Mandalorian
on Concord Dawn, where he grew
up. Tor isn't much for melee weapons,
but he's an excellent musician.
-Otani'kad
Jahn crafted these ninjato style short
-swords for each member of the Otani
clan. Tor wears it more as a symbol than
anything.
-WhipCord Launcher
This gauntlet-mounted Launcher
fires a monofilament cord for
capturing targets and a cable
with an electro-magnet at the
end for scaling walls.
-Mando Scout Enforcer
Tor carries this holdout pistol
with him as back-up. The pistol is
larger than most holdouts and its
firepower has been upgraded.
-Grenades
Tor carries two Flashbang,
two Ion, and two Frag grenades.

~ The Nagi Excursion ~
One day Jahn came across a bounty on a Tof raiding party.
Unsurprisingly, the bounty originated from the planet Nagi.
The feud between the Nagai and the Tof was well-known, at
least in certain circles. As a bounty hunter, Jahn was in one such
circle. It wouldn't be the first time a Mandalorian was hired
to level the playing field either. Thinking that it was about time
he took his son Tor on a serious hunt, Jahn accepted the contract
and began preparations. Tor was understandably eager, and
maybe a bit too excited. This concerned Deliah to some degree,
but Jahn assured her that their son was more than ready. The
Otanis packed quickly and left as soon as they could, they were
being paid to protect Nagai citizens from the Tof brutes after all,
they would need all the headstart they could get.
Ah, the surprise. Jahn had been looking forward to this. His wife
and son had probably expected that Jahn would rent a vessel of
some sort from a fellow Mando since the Ministry-class shuttle
they owned had long been having problems. The problem wasn't
a hyper-drive, Jahn had outfitted the shuttle with one shortly
after he purchased it from a family friend on Zeltros. The problem
had been the landing-gear. But, thanks to the HoloNet and a few
informative conversations with the local veterans-gone-farmers,
Jahn had learned to repair the mechanisms and had even
installed repulsors as back-ups. Deliah and Tor could feel Jahn's
excitement as they got closer to the hangar, not that he was
doing a very good job of hiding it anyways, he could barely keep
from grinning ear-to-ear. Mother and son exchanged amused
glances, they would let him have his fun. Finally, the Otanis were
standing before their now highly upgraded shuttle. In a dramatic
show of enthusiasm, Jahn pulled the tarp covering away and
gestured broadly. The landing-gear wasn't the only thing he had
altered. The vessel was now equipped with three light laser
canons and medium shielding to boot. Deliah and Tor were
thrilled, indeed they were quite surprised by this
accomplishment. The trio hurried inside and powered up the
engines.
The journey through space was largely uneventful. Jahn did
eventually admit to hiring on help with installing the shields
though. It came as no surprise. Tor busied himself by pouring
over the cockpit's many read-outs and then going back to
admiring his new T-6 Thunderer. The heavy blaster pistol was a
gift from his father and so Tor was determined to master its use.
The weapon had been modified with a stun setting; the recoil had
also been nullified somewhat, making it more stable and easier
for the youngster to wield. As they approached the planet Nagi,
Tor checked over his armor and equipment again - a Mando ritual
that had been drilled into him until it was a reflex. Everything
checked out. He tried to spin the T-6 around like a western-style
gunslinger. He failed and received a disapproving look from his
mother. Tor pointed at the safety switch, it was on.
Jahn in the lead, Tor in the middle, and Deliah at the rear, that's
how they proceeded out of the shuttle and into the residential
complex the local Nagai were using as their base of operations.
Tor waited, somewhat impatiently as his parents discussed the
current situation as well as the reward for the bounty. He started
toying with the internal comms, creating a catchy beat with
the slightly-static *click* that sounded every time the
channel was opened or closed. Jahn ignored it and continued on
with the negotiations. Deliah, on the other hand, had a harder
time ignoring it - it really was... catchy.
It wasn't long before all the details were worked out and the
Mandos were on the move. The raiders numbered in the twenties
and were spread out over two blocks of residential housing. Most
of the civilians were either in hiding or already dead. A small
militia of sorts had quickly formed, but after two costly attempts
at driving the Tofs out, they now had to focus on containing the
damage and not losing more ground to the enemy.
Tor's mind buzzed. His parent's instructions rang in his head, it
was like everything he had been taught about combat was
bubbling up, competing for his attention. He felt his pulse quicken
and his face flush. He wanted to do his parents proud, and the
anxiety (mixed with a touch of fear) was causing him to overthink
the situation. The youngster's hands started to shake and
his eyes widened at the revelation that an enemy could be
anywhere. A primal sense of danger was taking hold of him.
His eyes moved up to his father's shoulder blades. His inborn
empathic abilities allowed him to sense the man's emotional
state, and he found it was much like a wolf amongst a drove of
sheep, tense yet confident, searching for a target and ready to
strike. Tor felt his mother's presence behind him, calm,
calculating, precise. She was projecting her own emotions upon
him, willing him to focus, to prepare for what would come any
second now. The trio rounded the corner onto the first residential
block and filed down the left-hand side of the street. Jahn
flattened himself against the side of the first house and pulled
his custom EE-3 carbine close to his chest. Tor reflexively
followed his father's lead, pressing his back up against the house
and drawing his T-6 from its holster. Instead of pulling it up
however, he pointed the weapon straight down with both hands
just as they had drilled. Now he felt his father's influence,
unspoken pride and complete confidence flooded through him. It
told him that he had nothing to be afraid of, that he would never
be unsure of his place in the galaxy - he was an Otani, and he
was Mandalorian. Feeling Jahn's strength of will did more than
hours of learning and drilling had done; Tor felt his nervous
anxiety turn to excitement. As long as he obeyed his training and
never forgot who he was, Tor would be just fine.
Jahn led his family on to the next block. There was silence on
their internal comms. They were each too occupied with their
own thoughts and by now they were operating more by reflex
and instinct more than anything. Another group of Tof charged at
them from across the street. The Otani-Mandos set their plan of
attack in motion once again. The first time Tor had drilled it, it had
made him ache all over from the strain, but now that he had to
execute the maneuver in real battle, he hardly noticed. Jahn
strafed to the left, sighting the lead Tof in the scope of his
carbine. Meanwhile, Tor dropped to his knees and rolled to the
right before bringing his T-6 to bare and punching off several
shots in quick succession, all at approximately level with the Tofs'
knees. At the same time, Deliah strafed out to the right, sniping a
brute's head from his shoulders with her DLT-19 heavy rifle that
Jahn had modified into a powerful sniper rifle. The barrage of
blaster-fire made short work of the Tof invaders, sending them
crashing to the ground or bowling them over backwards. After
the sound of blaster-fire died away, Jahn heard what sounded
like very loud cursing. He rushed towards the house where the
sound was coming from - the only house they hadn't checked
yet - and kicked in the door. Tor arrived just in time to see his
father blast the Tof that was inside between the eyes. He
followed his father's lead and the three of them stormed into the
house, checking for more hostiles. It wasn't until after he had
rejoined his father in the central room that he noticed the little
girl sprawled out on the floor. He was used to the sight of Nagais
now, but he had never seen one his own age. He knelt down
beside the girl as his parents checked her for injuries. Besides
the bruise on her cheek and some minor scrapes, she was fine -
physically at least. While sweeping the house, they had found
the bodies of what must've been the girl's parents. When she
woke up, the Tofs would be gone, but so would her family. Tor
offered to carry the girl and was now cradling her in his arms,
looking down into her face. Deliah came up from behind her
husband, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and saying:
"I've always wanted a daughter." Tor looked back down at the
child in his arms and thought Hang in there... sis.

ambush the flag-holder before they crossed it.
The Wolfman said something about how
they were all on the same side, that they had all been tricked;
this relieved the tension of the situation.

"I've always wanted a daughter." Tor looked back down at the
child in his arms and thought Hang in there... sis.
Ship Name: Tor's father Jahn eventually gives his son the
keys to Ministry-class shuttle they own, although he has yet to
use it. Tor is a part of the Scarlet Sabre crew, the Blockade
Runner belonging to Cirith An'Gol.
