Dantooine Five Years Ago The day started as it always did for Tem Farelle, he awoke just before sunrise at the command of his Master, Heldo Felnar. The two quickly dressed and headed out toward the courtyard. Once arriving there, they set out on a run across the grassy plains, which would encompass a little over two miles there and back. Upon finishing the run, Tem and his master would head to the Enclave's gym and weight room for daily weight training. After he finished weight training for an hour, he took a shower and shaved his growing stubble. His life on Dantooine was regimented, just like Tem liked it, he liked the repetition and the feeling of accomplishment when he finished his run faster, or lifted more weight then ever. It was a simple existence, which was what Tem's busy mind needed so much growing up, if only to wear him out for nightfall. After he finished his morning routine, Heldo would head to the Holo projector to take part in the daily Council meeting on Coruscant, which would afford Tem some time to himself, he would often meditate in his room or find something to do around the Enclave. Today he felt like meditating, but he wanted to get out for a bit and enjoy the lovely weather. He headed for the courtyard in the east, thinking that it might be a good place to meditate while being out in the weather. When he arrived in the east courtyard, he found it bustling with activity, from younglings training to masters teaching and talking among one and other. Tem sat in a corner of the courtyard and began to meditate, but he found the sounds and eviroment a little distracting. About five minutes into his meditation a youngling walked up to him and stood eagerly as if to say he had a burning question for the Padawan. Tem opened his eyes and looked at the youngling who said nothing. Finally Tem spoke up. "Is there something you need?" Tem asked politely. The youngling couldn't have been older then seven and seemed to lose his nerve. "What did you need youngling?" Tem asked again, his voice slightly betraying patience. "Ummm...Why do you have those?" The young boy asked. Tem sighed loudly, if he weren't a Jedi, he'd probably be used to such questions by now, but most Jedi accepted that he had a reason and they shouldn't ask. "I am half Miralukan. My eyes are supersensitve to light, and as such, I need protection for them." The youngling didn't seem to understand but didn't push the issue, "Oh, ok" He then walked back over to a group of younglings that were all staring at Tem. Tem shook his head and tried to go back to meditating, but after ten minutes, felt a presence coming near him. It was a Knight by the looks of him. He stopped in front of Tem and waited. Tem opened his eyes and bowed his head as the Knight bent at the waist and bowed back. "Padawan Farelle. Your Master, Heldo Felnar, would like you to know that he is cancelling you're training for the rest of the day," Tem could see that he was eyeing his goggles as he spoke. "He has a matter of the utmost importance to deal with in the Council Chambers for the rest of the day. He wishes you to meditate in his absence and he will see you tomorrow." Tem bowed to the Knight, in acknowledgement of what he had told the Padawan. The Knight bowed back and he left, leaving Tem back to his meditation. After five more minutes, he felt another youngling approaching, he was beginning to grow annoyed by all the interruptions by this point. "Yes, without the goggles I am blind." He said in a more stern voice then he should have. The youngling opened her mouth, but instead turned and walked away.

Mirian had awoken rather early today. Even as she stepped out into the enclave courtyard the sun had not risen to greet the day. This was fine to her as she needed no light to see, and in fact only knew it was still dark due to the lack of warmth on her skin. She had had no real reason for being up so early, she wasn't supposed to be awake for another hour or so atleast. Instead she had simply felt the need to be up and moving. Of course there could have been the underlying thought that she was leaving in a few days. She was to go and start recieving official missions, to aid the galaxy, She had been looking foreward to this for a long time, but now felt a small amount of remorse for having to leave the beautiful planet.
Mirian spent her morning alone, atleast until others started to rouse and make their ways to the mess hall for breakfast. She spent a great deal of her morning there, watching the younglings come and go, watching the masters and their padawans. She was taking a mental picture of this place to take with her, so that even if she never returned she would be able to always take it with her. Not unusual was that Tem and his master where not present for breakfast. Mirian knew the pair rose early to run and train everyday, and Tem would not find his way here for several hours still.
In their time here the pair had become very close. Their bond was that of siblings, and when they were not training individualy they could be found together. Though in recent months Tems training had increased and they had had less time together as he prepared for his trials.
Well if he wasn't going to come here she would go to him. Mirian rose and left the mess hall, stopping only a few moments to be congratulated on her leaving and recieving proper missions. AS always she was polite, and spoke excitedly about the opportunity. It was after all an amazing thing to travel the galaxy. She repeated this ritual with several other knights and padawans alike until she finally made her way to the courtyard. It as always was full of people, from the very young to the very old. And as always many classes were being held out in the open and sunny air.
Mirian gazed out over the courtyard and almost immediatly spotted Tem off on the far side. He was speaking to a knight, though she obviously could not hear what they were saying. But from what she could see it looked as though he was not doing anything immediatly pressing at the moment. Perhaps they could spend some time togetehr then.
Traversing the courtyard was always difficult when classes were running. Masters would often stop passing knights to assist in demonstrations, or to give some tips to the younger generation. Mirian had always been fond of assisting to teach the classes. Naturally even as she tried to reach Tem she was interupted a few times by different individuals for different reasons. so much was the case that it had taken her nearly 10 minutes just to cross the courtyard.
"Yes, without the goggles I am blind."
She heard Tems voice now destinctly as she closed in on him and a youngling. The little girl hesitated a moment before turning around and running straight into Mirian. Mirian smiled as she knelt down nest to the child placing a hand on her shoulder and whispering in her ear. The girl responded with a giggle and ran off to join her class. The Miraluka now stood up and made her way silently towards Tem. She had hoped to suprise him.
A couple of younglings had stopped to watch now as Mirian krept towards the Meditating padawan. She made sure to move slowly, allowing her feet to firmly rest on the ground before taking the next step, until she was almost right on top of him. She hesitated a moment hovering over the padawan trying to think of the best way to startle him.

Tem sat and felt the youngling turn and walk away. He felt another presence near by, a presence he was familiar with. He couldn't place where they were coming from, but he knew that they...Well, she, was near by. He finally spoke up, "I sense something...A presence I haven't felt since...." He opened his eyes and grabbed Mirian's arm. "Last month." He smiled wide as he stood, laughing at his own joke. He hadn't had a chance to see her in almost four weeks, which was longer then he'd have liked, but his training took president over his own wants.
His training had intensified as of late as his trials loomed ever closer. Heldo had stated that Tem was ready, and Tem believed him, but at the same time he needed to step up his training to ensure he didn't fail in his first attempt. Over the last few weeks most of his time was devoted to either training physically, in the force, or meditating. The latter seemed to intensify his visions of the shadowy figure, but he tried to not let it bother him. It still tugged at the back of his mind, but seeing Mirian seemed to erase all these thoughts from his mind.
Tem pulled Mirian into a hug without thinking. He held he close for probably a second too long, before letting go of her. "How have you been Mirian?" He asked with another smile. He was still in awe of her being a knight, a rank he hoped to join her in soon.

Mirian let out a little squeal of suprise, nearly falloing over as Tem grabbed her arm. Several other people who had been watching to see what would happen had begun to laugh, before going back to whatever they had already been doing. One of the older Jedi nearby even shook his head with a smile before strolling off and out of the compound. Before Mirian could say anything to retort she had been pulled into a hug, one which she quickly returned. It had been long overdue, and now she was going to collect.
Even as she hugged him she could feel the tension that he suffered. No doubt with his trials looming he felt under preasure. She had known for years that when it came time for him to perform he would do superb. She had even made note to tell him on many occaisions. But she still knew how it felt to be so close. All she could do was be here for him, for as long as she could.
"How have you been Mirian?"
She smiled to match his. "I've been well. Keeping active and training hard, Just like you." her voice raise an bit playfuly as she spoke. She had suddenly gotten a wonderful idea. The big question now was where Tems master would be, and if he would let Tem out for a bit. Mirian allowed her gaze to sweep the courtyard again, but there was no sign of the padawans master. "Tem... Where is your master?"

"I've been well. Keeping active and training hard, Just like you." Tem laughed, he had been doing a lot of training lately, leaving him little time to do what he wanted, but being a Jedi was more important then the passing fancies of the young man. "Tem... Where is your master?" Mirian asked him. He wondered what business she had with Heldo. -Maybe she needs to relay a message to him?- Tem thought to himself.
"Oh, he's got some pressing business with the Council right now. I probably won't be seeing him until tomorrow. Why do you ask? Do you need to talk to him about something?" He asked, hoping that whatever she wanted Heldo for wasn't her only reason to be visiting with him.
Tem could see the girl that had approached him earlier out of the corner of his goggles. He wondered why she was staring, then she laughed, he had heard that giggle before. Just before Mirian had arrived. He wondered if she had any knowledge about why the girl was laughing. "Mirian, why is that Youngling staring at us?" He asked in a bit of a whisper.

Mirian's lips curled into a grin as Tem explained that his master was going to be busy for the day. That meant that the Miraluka could steal Tem away for the day and they could spend some time together before she left. this was going to be her motive, her plan for the day, especially on a beautiful day like this. Even as she stood with Tem the sheer perfection of the day was missed. The sky was completely clear, not a cloud as far as anyone could see. The sun had warmed everything to a very comfortable temperature, and the gentlest breeze could be felt, with even the smell of fresh flowers carried lightly on it.
"Tem... We need to go..." Her voice had an urgency, but she was still smiling. "I leave in a few days, and since you have the day off... we should spend some time together, like we used to." It had been a couple years ago that the pair would take a day every now and then to go on picnics or wander around the plains. They had to do that today. And if Tem was going to be insistent on training then they would easily go to one of the many lakes and swim laps. Just because it was training didn't mean it couldn't be fun.
"We should get a speeder, some food, and go out.. this is a beautiful day...and there is more to being a jedi than just sitting around meditating." she teased playfully. But now for a brief second attention had turned back to the youngling that had now taken to staring at them. Mirian couldn't help but laugh now. "I figured you had startled her, So I told her you were having a bad day because a Gizka bit your big toe." She laughed again, enjoying her own little stories.

"Tem... We need to go..." "Go where?" Tem asked with a hint of playfulness in his voice. "I leave in a few days, and since you have the day off... we should spend some time together, like we used to." It had been some time since they had taken a day to just enjoy each other's company and have a picnic or wander the grassy plains of Dantooine. Tem had enjoyed those little breaks they would take out on the rolling plains and lakes, but he felt a tinge of guilt as he thought of taking the day off.
"We should get a speeder, some food, and go out.. this is a beautiful day...and there is more to being a jedi than just sitting around meditating." Tem had to agree with her on that point. In response to his question about a youngling, she spoke again before laughing. "I figured you had startled her, So I told her you were having a bad day because a Gizka bit your big toe." Tem laughed along with her now, slightly grudgingly. He had to admit he may have been a bit abrasive to the youngling. He'd have to apologize later, but now there was much to procure. They would need food and supplies if they were going to go out today.
He smiled at Miri and came up with a plan. You scare up some food and I'll get the supplies?" Tem asked with a grin.
