Guild Wars 2

So, Guild Wars 2 is steadily approaching us with the ability to pre-purchase the game only days away (and with it comes the ability to participate in the beta weekends). I know I've spoken to a few of you about the game before in the cbox, but it looks really interesting and seems as though it will play around a bit with the all too repetitive flavour of MMOs.

So I thought I'd throw up this thread, partially so people could talk about the game, ideas they like, ideas perhaps they don't like.

But also, I wanted to put forward a guild for people to join so that they can play along with me and maybe some others such as Dire when the game comes out, doesn't matter if you played the first Guild Wars, if you're an MMO veteran or completely new to the entire scene.

The guild I was in from the first game was really quite awesome, they wrote a small RP between some of the members and then went on to film and voice it using the first Guild Wars and it was quite fun to watch. But they're also really friendly, not to mention that there are many within the guild that do know their way around MMOs quite well. Not to mention, the Guild won one a 'Guild of the Week' nomination back when the game was still fairly active.

There are also a sturdy number of members, it seems as though the forum/guild isn't too active or full of members, but a lot of the members are on hiatus until Guild Wars 2 comes out.

It's a place that I came to stay and one that just helped me enjoy the first Guild Wars a lot and I would like to play with both them and you guys when the game comes out and possibly during the beta weekends.

Hey, so, for any of you playing in the Beta this weekend and are looking for a server to join or maybe looking to play with some folks then I thought I'd let you know I'm going to be on the Darkhaven server in the US region as that's the server my guild picked.

If you want to check out the guild the link's in my previous post, otherwise you can just jump on the server and play with myself or any other members of SWU who might be playing.

Feel free to PM or Skype me regarding any of this stuff.

I'll join that server, and possibly hang out some. After some more play time in later beta or when released, when I decide to actually join a guild, I'll definitely consider this one.

Apparently there was initially a boat-load of people in Darkhaven, making the server full, so the guild has switched to Ehmry Bay. I'll be playing on that server if anyone wants to join, add/send a whisper to Jenno and I'll respond when I can (:

I'm apparently one of those people having trouble connecting to a server, got characters made...but have only been able to play the first human map so far

Ah, yea, I got shoved onto an overflow server myself, which means I now have the joy of not being able to play with the vast majority of my guild mates, but hopefully that should just be for the beta.

Hopefully they'll be able to fix some stuff in this little down time they're having.

There's another Beta Weekend this coming weekend, I myself won't be around to play that much unfortunately, but there will still be a fair number of members of Charter Vanguard playing on the Ehmry Bay so you're welcome to go and join them.

Make sure to check out the forum I linked in my first post, post a sign up and then there's information on there about who to message in game for an invite.

Also, if you played in the previous test or the server stress test then I recommend patching your client (simply load up the game like you would normally) as there's about 5GB worth already available to download.

Been a little while since I posted anything in here. But the game's release is just over a week or two away. If there's any of you have already bought the game and are looking for the guild, make sure to check Charter Vanguard out. A couple of people from the site have already signed up, such as Dire, Twysper, Silas and a few others such as Necrofear, Jace who still have yet stop being lazy and actually post their apps up.

I was recently promoted to an officer of the guild, mainly dealing with World vs World parts of the game (which is also part of the reason I haven't been around here a whole lot lately).

If I was to include Necro and Jace as having already posted their apps up to join the guild, then that would put CV at 81 member apps. And this is before the game has even release, so there's going to be a healthy community around for the beginning stages of the game.
