Character Name: Averia, Kalyn
Character Faction: Any
Number Of People Wanted: No more than 4, otherwise--it don't matter
Reason For Roleplay: Ok, this is going to be a quite involved project that's being devised here, and those who want to be involved I'm very open to receiving help to shape it. Admittedly it's not the most original, but at the same time the goal is a fun EPIC adventure!
Here's the deal, one thing I always liked about the narratives of Final Fantasy games is they are stupid-crazy-over-the-top-insanity-epics. They can be so friggin' nutbaggy at times sometimes it's just impossible (at least for me) to not be completely amused and want to further engage in the over-the-top nature and antics of the over-arching narrative.
And that's what I intend to do with this narrative within our Star Wars setting. Interested? Well, if you are, then understand, this will also have ZERO impact on the site's plot. It will be utterly separate from unfolding events on the galactic scale. So if you're choosing to be involved you'll have to be satisfied with being an unsung hero and nobody likely knowing of the crazy shiz your character is doing or has done. Still interested?
Ok, where I originally came up with the idea was literally this thought while trying to think up something to do on this site with Averia while Dee is working on her Fringe char (future partner in crime, per se), "Heh... Back in the day I used to just write out a bunch of outlines for RP campaigns in PnP games, and just hammer them through with just a couple other friends... Would be cool to do something like that only with stupid-levels over-the-top narratives like with Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star... but in Star Wars... it'd be like... Final Phantasy Star Wars. [beat] I now know what to do."
But here's the deal, to be interesting it needs a couple more people to be involved. And most importantly for something--especially drawn from those people's character's background--that ties them into the overall narrative with at least some measure of significance--really, the more significance the better. I already have to two NPC antagonists in mind, one primary, another secondary; and I'm very much open to adding a couple more if need be for added significance for those involved, but not much more beyond that because then it becomes too much even for a narrative designed to be over-the-top. The purpose is simplistic, to have the characters have something that invests them greatly into the transpiring events, and motivates them to want to see the insanity of all that's happening brought to a close. Something giving them a reason to go through hell and back beyond just because "it's the right thing to do" or "to be badass" or whatever. Yah' feel me knockin'?! If so, then let me in! XD
So, that's the idea...
Other: Now, the nuts and bolts and caveats...
This will take time to RP from beginning to its close. Yes, this will not be an ongoing RP, it will function like a campaign--it will have an end. But, most importantly, the journey to reach that end will not be a simple one for those involved. Both in the RP, and actually RPing will take a fair amount of time. Need a caveat to understand what I mean? Check out a Jewel thread some time, or one of mine and Dee's threads and look at the dates between posts.
If you're expecting daily posts and something moving fast from beginning to end--this will not be for you--at all. This adventure will be an investment of time, but as with all things, the best things take time (and also everyone has lives outside of this site). It has to be mentioned that it's liquid time on this site, so naturally your character can be apart of other plots/threads outside of what will be planned here.
Also, at most within the adventure from its beginning to end, only a few or a couple months will have past--AT MOST... actually... scratch that I have no damn idea. But, it's not like we're talking years here.
NOW! With all that b.s. said, and still up for being apart of this. There is one role that someone will have to take upon themselves to fill. The role could be NPCed, but experience of RPing and creating PnP campaigns for many years has taught me it's always a 100 times more interesting when done by a player. That role being the role of the Healer/Support within the group. Because it's a great source of character development for all involved. So, that's the only specific mantle I'd like to see a player take up. Recognize this is a 5-man band altogether, which leaves two slots open to be whatever you want, I have no preferences.
So far with "roles" between Dee and I:
Awesome Trick-slick-shot Badass: Kalyn
Supernatural Space Martial Artist: Averia
Now, that said, notice I have "Any" for faction?
Yes, while Dee's and my character are Fringe sorts, I am not at all opposed someone of any of the other factions joining: Mando, Repub', Pirate, Sith, whatever! This also includes a Jedi or a Sith joining, or even more interestingly BOTH. I would thoroughly enjoy something like a Jedi Healer and a Sith... ANYTHING... finding themselves in a situation where they have to not only aid their "allies" but each other.
Understand that, while characters of any level are welcome, the battles outside of dealing with mooks and cannon-fodder are meant to be challenging. Oh yes, there will be the big epic "baws battles", and naturally the enormity of those battles will be crazy, and there will be no one character being dominating the battle, doesn't matter how super-crazy-awesome your Force-god Megaman Jedi Master is. Even if I had my two craziest characters Aeia and Hervor in this, they'd be struggling severely with the "big boy" battles regardless of the group either of the two are with.
As far as how the characters will get around in the vastness of space. Honestly, if your character already has a ship... I don't care.Speaking from experience part of the narrative should be that the group collectively obtains one in some fashion; and so if a character already has ship--at least for this adventure, it's unavailable to them. The reasons are two-fold, character/player development so everyone feels like they're further apart of what's going on, and it'll eliminate any need of a discussion for, "Whose ship we gonna' use?" **The struck out bit has a situation tided to this, so see my latest post below for details, but because of it an alternative is being set up.**
For the concern of someone leaving or being gone for a very long period of time during the narrative. It's cool, another player can always be worked in some way, or an NPC being temporarily utilized in that player character's place until something gets worked out. Things can always been worked to make shiz fall into place and keep the ball rolling.
So. Yah' interested still after reading all of that? Then let me know.
