Gharassk was prepairing to leave the Jedi Temple Assisting Teer Ka, whom he had met in the meditation chambers about a week ago. He hadn't been off Coruscant sense he was helping Anahid on Dxun, today he was to assist with a Diplomatic mission.
He now had his light saber and Robes on along with the uncomfortable boots, he had plans knowing he would be close to Rodia he would run off before heading to the room of the other Padawan, he had forgotten her name and was asked to go ahead and tell her it was time to leave, he wasn't sure but he thought Teer was still getting around he also didn't think she was to enthusiastic about the mission either.
He approached the door to the room dispelling his thoughts about running off before knocking on the door. After this they would have to move rather quickly to catch the shuttle on time...
He shuffled with a name then skipped it, You in there? He asked loud enough to be heard from insdie the room if there was any one in there, he himself had gotten to the room late it was posible that she already left without waiting for Gharassk...

The Jedi Temple
Lana had overslept. This was blatant to her. Though not detrimental to her morning routine, the Echani padawan wouldn't be able to practice her Soresu forms as she had done every morning prior for the past year or so. She would also have to cut her meditation quite short.
Once she awoke, albeit a half hour late, Lana had quickly disrobed and showered, mindful of the time. Luckily, she finished early and dressed herself in her tunic and robe, finally clipping her lightsaber onto her belt.
Satisfied that she was prepared for departure, Lana put her silvery, rather damp, hair up in a ponytail before sitting on her bed cross-legged. The padawan quieted her thoughts and called to the force. Lana began to meditate on her day's assignment.
She was to accompany a padawan by the name of Gharrask Ran and Sirius's master Teer on a diplomatic mission to Druckenwell. She was somewhat excited by this, as diplomacy was indeed her forte. She was also anxious to meet the famed Teer Ka, slayer of Dark Jedi. The Echani was a bit anxious as well, as this was her first mission since her re-admittance to the Order.
Lana felt someone approaching her door long before he spoke. Assuming it was Gharrask, Lana stood up and double checked everything from her lightsaber to her hair do before opening the door. She saw a Togruta, crimson red, a few inches taller than her. Her fellow padawan was probably a couple years younger than her, though their height difference betrayed this.
Putting up a neutral smile, Lana bowed slightly and spoke to her counterpart.
"Why yes, it would only be logical to assume that I am in my quarters at this hour of the morning."
Lana said the words in a condescending manner, but abandoned the facade as she continued to speak.
"I'm kidding. My name is Lana Kindari, Padawan. You are Gharrrask, correct?"
She did her best to found friendly and professional, all at the same time. Once he replied, Lana got straight to the point.
"I suppose we should be moving on, it would do us no good to delay our own departure, and personally, I think we should stay on Master Ka's good side by being prompt.

Good, he thought to himself, a friendly Padawan, one not as strict as others.
Gharassk wouldn't try his own hand at a joke this time, but a smile almost a giggle came from after her joke.
Yes Gharassk Ran, He nodded, Lana Kindari, got it, He repeated making a Mantle note of her name.
Good you're here,We're to report to the flight bay last i checked. He said as he started moving, You hear any thing from Teer? Gharassk asked staying beside the other Padawan, they passed several windows, the sky looked like it was beginning to grey, one of Corucsants storms was brewing, Gharassk had seen many living here as he did, Looks like we better get outta' here quick if we're going to beat the storm out. He commented pointing out one of the windows as he passed it, the rain was starting now but the storm itself was quite a ways off still.
The flight bay was in view and the shuttle was landed neatly...outside of the hanger, Gharassk sighed to himself, They moved it...We're gonna get wet.
He looked about the inside of the hanger looking for Teer Ka, No sign of her...She must be late or already in the Shuttle. Gharassk looked to Lana he thought he remembered her being slightly older then he was, even though he looked slightly taller, What do you think? Go ahead and get wet and get in the shuttle, or wait a bit? He asked her, he wanted to wait in the dry warm shuttle bay but judging by the rain it looked like it wasn't going to get much better, the rain was now coming down quite heavy.

Master Teer Ka emerged from the loading ramp of the Jedi shuttle, peering out through the rain onto the hangar deck. She'd arrived before the Padawans, as was her custom, and she'd been examining the flight deck and talking with the pilots.
They were up to her standards, and the ship checked out. It wasn't as if she'd expected otherwise, but it was her responsibility to take care of these children. Of course she'd never expected to have been saddled into this in the first place.
Diplomatic missions and Teer Ka, hardly the toast of the Temple as a combination. But, the other masters had all encouraged her to broaden her horizons, and they were confident she had the edge in intimidation. With a gaze that could wither Padawans and young Knights, maybe she was cut out for forcing a solution onto a problem.
It was a straight-forward business dispute on Druckenwell, between newly-formed unions and the corporate rulers. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty. But, Teer was expected to be the driving force behind the Jedi here. Luckily, she had an aide.
Lana Kindari. Sirius' friend, as Teer knew her. They were apparently quite the duo. And she was apparently an aspiring young diplomat, who Teer would count on.
And the other Padawan, Gharassk. She'd met him once before, a young member of her own species. Teer hadn't really formed an opinion about him. Not yet at any rate.
Dark eyes spotted the two Padawans and the Togruta Jedi Master waved at them, beckoning them to her. Teer stood there in her robes, sheltered under the ship from the rain, though her clothing and skin was still slightly damp from walking out earlier.
"Come here!"

"I'll spare you the pleasantries Gharrask, as I believe we are cutting our schedule a bit close."
Lana meant what she said. They didn't come from any animosity she had for her Togruta companion. That was why she was relieved when the taller Padawan began walking back to the entrance of the dormitories. She followed him, easily keeping pace, and listening to his words.
"I was told that we are to report to the hangar bay, yes. Master Ka hasn't contacted me though, but I'm sure she will be on time."
The majority of their trek to the hangar was taken in silence. Lana was naturally a bit on the talkative side, but she decided that she wanted to appear professional for both Master Ka and Gharrask. Whenever Gharrask pointed out the gathering storm in the Coruscanti sky, Lana only nodded and sped up her pace to a brisk walk. Running about in the Jedi Temple simply wasn't acceptable, especially when her age was considered.
Finally, the duo reached the hangar. Much to Lana's disdain, the shuttle was indeed, parked outside. Lovely, frizzy hair was always a great start to the day. Not that her appearance was all that important, it was never really desirable to look unruly in front of any delegation.
With a sigh she turned to Gharrask. She could sense a powerful presence within the shuttle, Master Ka no doubt, though she said nothing about it to her counterpart. The boy would sense her soon enough.
Her speculations were proven correct when the Togruta Master emerged from the shuttle's entry ramp. She waved at them, and Lana responded by doing the same. Rain was no excuse for rudeness afterall. The older woman then called out to them, loud enough to defeat the sound of the now pouring rain.
"Might as well, no sense in delaying the inevitable." She said referring to the rain
The Echani padawan pulled the brown hood of her robe over silver-crowned head so that her face and hair could grasp some notion of warmth or dryness. Eager to reach the shuttle, Lana made her way to the edge of the shelter the hangar provide. She then jogged through the downpour towards the shuttle, all the while being struck by obscenely large and numerous drops of water.
Once she finally reached the shelter of the shuttle, Lana made a bow to the master before her. As she was coming up from the bow, she thought to check and see if Gharrask had made it across. However, spinning around in the middle of a bow would be rude, not to mention awkward. Completing the bow, the silver haired Padawan stood up with perfect posture and made eye contact with the Togruta before her.
"Master Ka, it's an honor to meet a Jedi as accomplished as yourself. I am Lana Kindari. I trust all the necessary preparations have been made for our departure?"
Lana, in that moment, realized that both of her companions would be Togrutas, and she was the only near-Human member of the mediation. However, from what she had heard, she was the most versed in Diplomacy, and would likely serve as an asset to Master Ka. Lana wasn't really sure what Master Ka's and Gharrask's diplomatic expertise extended to, but she was eager to press on with the mission.

Gharassk looked to the ship just after speaking, a presence he had me before was now aware to him.
Lana had already began moving toward the shuttle, Gharassk hesitated for a brief moment then moved to the edge of the hangers shelter then pulled his hood over hid oddly shaped head and pulled the outer robes tight setting his hands in each others sleeve, then proceeded to move quickly through the pouring rain.
He arrived just behind Lana and made a quick bow, Gharassk as never into formalities to him he didn't think rank was important, however the person behind the rank was.
His words came passed muffled by the rain, Good to see you again Teer... Trying to sound humble he spoke again with the same muffle, Can we get out of the rain? He had only been in the rain for a few moments and yet he could already feel that the rain was coming in contact with his skin passing the already drenched robes. He looked to his right where he noted that he was just barely out from under the shuttles shelter enough to still be getting wet. He then promptly moved to his left with a slight grunt fallowed by a slight sigh.

"Come on in," Teer said to the pair of Padawans, mostly the younger Togruta. The Echani girl she had more designs with, and a need to foster some sort of relationship in the voyage to Druckenwell. Her age went against her, but her friendship with Sirius was highly in her favor.
Teer Ka didn't expect her Padawan would become friends with any sort of oaf, fool, or little cretin.
The Togruta Weapons Master turned and walked up the ramp, leading the young ones up into the central room of the shuttle, the common area. There were soft seats for each of them, and a perch Teer had brought made of an orange-colored wood. On it was her pride and joy.
"Ashla," She said softly with a smile as her pet Corellian Banshee Bird cocked her head and peered at the two newcomers.
The avian predator was always rather suspect of newcomers, much like her owner, but the fact they were with Teer seemed to assuage ruffled feathers, and after a quick spread of her wings, Ashla was back to normal.
Teer signaled for the pilots to take off, and she lowered herself onto a seat, summing up the two with her glances. The Echani girl seemed confident enough, and properly orderly. Nothing to raise alarm.
"Greetings Padawans. I trust you are ready? If not, it is too late and you will have to make due."

Lana followed the revered master into the shuttle. The older woman in front of her seemed to be so calm, yet so powerful. Teer Ka was a good Jedi, and she made a mental note to observe Master Ka. To watch her, to learn from her actions.
If her views were similar to Sirius's, Lana and Teer Ka would have many disagreements about the Sith and the War. But that was only to be expected, as Teer saw through the eyes of a warrior, and Lana through a diplomat's.
The young Echani could sense the two pilots, Gharrask behind her, Master ka, and another strange presence. The presence was revealled to her when Master Ka called to a large bird in the corner of the room. The creature was beautiful and terrible, and Lana could feel the connection between the bird, Ashla, and its master.
She had never been one for animals, but Lana politely remarked on the bird.
It's beautiful Master, a female?"
Once she had finished bragging on the bird, Lana seated hereself to the right of Master Ka, with a seat in between them. She chuckled at Teer's last statement. Her master had been much the same way.
"So Master, what is our mission on Druckenwell exactly? I read something in the briefing about Trade Unions and corporate feuds, but the description was vague."

Gharassk was grateful to be out of the rain. he removed his wet outer robes before sitting in the soft chair that had been left for him, the bird came to it's master. Gharassk remembered how in many races of bird the male was more colorful then the female.
However if this was true for this race he wasn't sure. He sat ready to listen to Teer's briefing, before standing and putting his hand out questioning with a small cracker like piece of food that he had on his ration belt. Teer, may I? Holding the food in the general direction of the winged pet.
He was fond of other life, plant or animal the plant in the gardens he and Vance had healed, the People he was about to save, after his run off.
He shook the thoughts of running off again still holding his arm with the food.

"Yes, and yes," Teer told the pair of Padawans, in turn confirming that Ashla was female and that Gharassk could provide his food.
WHile normally the bird was on a regulated diet, the occasional deviation was acceptable. And she had to admit, the Padawan was rather brave to let his fingers get that close to a predator. But as long as he didn't do anything stupid, the look Teer was giving Ashla would serve to protect him.
And as to Lana's question...
"Recently on Druckenwell, unions of workers have formed. This was strongly opposed by the Corporate government, but happened anyway with widespread support. Now the government is reluctant to deal with the unions. Labor on the planet is slowly crawling to a close, and we have to broker a solution between the unions and the government. If we do not, the Jedi will send better negotiators months later. We are to nip this problem in the bud before it grows worse."
Master Ka looked at the Padawans for their reactions with her severe face, dark eyes scrutinizing them as if they could be wayward delinquents at any minute. It was her customary look when dealing with subordinates, that stern schoolmaster look.

Trade unions. They were always a blast. Her first violent mission, on Sullust, was the result of yet another feud between corporations and unions. Gervar and she had tried their best, but ultimately failed in reaching a peaceful solution.
They had been assigned a similar mission years later, that one ending much more peacefully. Lana had observed his master closely during the mission, as she knew that labor negotiations were never simple and almost always delicate.
Master Ka's description had caused the Echani Padawan to feel a bit anxious. It was her first mission since she had been readmitted to the Order, and it was already proving to be difficult.
Before worry could set in, her inner optimist stepped in. She had a lot of experience, despite her age, with diplomacy and she had handled similar situations before. Perhaps Lana was more cut out for this than she liked to believe.
"I understand. From what I can gather, these negotiations will be tense, and they will have to be handled gently. Do you have much diplomatic experience master?"

Gharassk nodded and approached the so far calm bird giving it the cracker like food.
After the bird took it he extended calm safe thoughts outward from himself with the force. Yes most animals could since fear and the like but amplifying wouldn't hurt. He gently brushed the bird only once, still having calm thoughts surrounding him.
Then he removed himself from the bird back to his seat where his robes where slung over the back of the chair. Where he sat he could see out one of the windows. The ship that was now in space made the unmistakable jump into hyper space as the white specs of the stars turned into long bluish streaks.
He returned his attention to master Teer. Gharassk ha learned that many options would need to be set out before one could be chosen. At this point it had seemed that so far there was no ways of compromise as of yet. Waiting for Teer to Answer Lana's Question he then spoke. Teer, so far what options of compromise are there for the divided sides?
Gharassk looked between the two fellow Jedi hoping one would have the answer. He had only a small amount of Experience with Diplomacy from when he was with his former master.
He quickly dismissed that thought and returned from thinking. If he started thinking about Rodia now things would turn out rather bad for those he hoped to save.
Are there any demands made by one group or the other? He brought himself back to the conversation with that second question.

Teer frowned at Lana’s question. Did she have much experience? With diplomacy the answer was sadly no, with just a few isolated missions that had bored her as a Padawan. She’d seen them as distractions from her saber forms, little nuisances that got in the way.
Of course now she had no qualms about it, and looked at it as remedial knowledge of a kind. But the fact was that while she was fully trained in mediating disputes, full blown diplomacy was something her experience with was limited in. She didn’t have much of a choice but to say so, which wasn’t something she relished.
”I am fully trained in mediation, but my diplomatic experience was minimal. Ultimately this mission is a nuisance rather than a crisis, which is why the Council was comfortable enough dispatching me. And you for that matter.”
It was true that as diplomatic envoys went, these three were hardly the best team available. And Teer had a firm idea that she’d have to resort to intimidating both sides into accepting compromise. Assuming she didn’t find enough material to indicate one side was more or less right.
”As to your question Gharassk, the corporations demand the workers de-unionize, and the new unions demand better working conditions, worker safety guidelines, and income. Our options for compromise are simple. In our arbitration we can either decide a side is right, or we can find middle ground. I will wait to hear both arguments before I reach a decision.”

Lana almost apologized to Master Ka when a frown appeared on her face. Did she offend the revered master? That certainly hadn't been her intention. Once the older Togruta spoke, Lana was relieved as the Weapons Master seemed unoffended.
"I understand Master."
The Echani was going to be quiet, until she remembered something she had thought about the previous night. She had been researching Druckenwell, as she had known little about the planet, when it occurred to her that the journey was a few days long. That had provoked Lana to wonder about their sleeping arrangements.
Before she could speak up, Teer answered Gharrask's question. As it turned out, she was in full agreement. Middle ground would most likely be their end result, as both sides had good arguments.
[Sorry for shortness]

Gharassk waited until Teer had finished speaking before standing and giving a slight bow, Thank you for the information Teer. now if you don't mind I'm going to explore the ship a little. He said giving another bow and turned toward the aft section of the Room he was already in. He was aware that the engines would be in that direction but he didn't know what else would be.
But before he reached the end of the common room he spotted a training remote sitting on a shelf. Oh maybe i can get a few hours of training in before i get to tired. He thought as he stopped for a few moments looking at it before continuing.

Much to Teer’s surprise, the Padawans were both uncharacteristically quiet. If she knew anything at all of young people, which was certainly likely after all the years she’d spent as one, they were generally full of activity and curiosity, not quiet and withdrawn.
Maybe they were distracted.
Her fellow Togruta excused himself and disappeared, leaving Teer alone with Lana and her pet. Faced with being completely silent and possibly making the Echani girl uncomfortable, Master Ka decided to engage in conversation instead.
”Padawan Kindari, I understand you have been seeing a great deal of my Padawan Sirius lately. Perhaps there are things he more readily tells to one his own age than to his master. How is he doing? How is his transition with his arm?”
Teer’s face was attentive, and her severe features seemed focused in on the response she would get. Her appearance was very much like a predatory bird perched in a tree, providing withering attention.

As awkwardness began to set in in the shuttle's main room. The situation wasn't helped when Gharrask excused himself, leaving her alone with Master Ka.
Lana was a little cold as well, considering her hair was still damp from the shower, and they were in the deep cold that was hyperspace. She wrapped her brown robes around her slender form, forming a barrier between her warm skin and the algid air.
Just as she was about to mention something about Soresu, to make conversation with the older woman, Teer engaged.
The Echani wasn't so much shocked by the abruptness of the inquiry, but the content. Sirius wasn't really a topic she had talked much about recently, keeping their friendship relatively quiet.
Lana forced herself into a diplomatic expression as, for some reason, she had a habit of smiling a blushing slightly when talking about the boy.
"Sirius... Well, physically, he seems to be fine. He doesn't really complain often, and when he does it's always minor nuisances that come with prosthetics."
The Padawan paused as she thought of the much deeper, more severe mental and emotional scars Sirius sustained from the battle.
"Honestly, I'm worried about him. He's doing better now, but I'm afraid that he feels...inadequate. Maybe he feels like he is not worthy of knighthood, like he failed...well...er...you. I don't think he realized how strong he really is, with all the trauma and hardship he has been through, Sirius is still devoted to the Light, and the Order."

Gharassk wondered on until he reached what he guessed was the engine room. On his way he had only found two sleeping quarters, and he had assumed one was for the the two pilots.
Upon his expecting the rooms he found only two bunks in each room, either way unless there where more rooms toward the front, he would most likely be sleeping in the main room.
Gharassk sighed to himself at discovering that and moved his way back through the common area, passing the fellow Jedi at that time they had been talking about another Jedi whom he didn't believe he knew. But he didn't pry into there business either and continued along his way, with a slight bit of pleasure as he found one last sleeping room.
He checked it for a moment to find that was the one the pilots would most likely choose as it was closest to the bridge. Not much to this small shuttle is there? He spoke to himself, but he wasn't unheard either, the co-pilot had come up behind him, Gharassk could feel the mans presence just before he spoke,
"You lookin' for something?" Gharassk turned to him and spoke, No, nothing really, just looking around, trying to see where I'd be sleeping. The co-pilot nodded and entered the room without saying another word, Then it dawned on Gharassk that at least the co-pilot had not been a Jedi.
Gharassk moved back through the common area once more it looked to him like they where no longer talking about who ever they had just been talking about. He made a quick statement as he past them again, Attempting not to be rude, OK, our rooms are those two. He pointed down the hall where the two rooms doors could barely be seen.
He continued into the right sleeping room and found only normal accommodations: Bed, bench/ couch, Computer, Data pad. That was about it, Gharassk removed his outer robes once more to lie them onto the bench then seeing the vest robes where also wet he removed those as well, leaving only his shirt like under robe.
He then took his own saber out and extended the blade and swung it several times before shutting it down again. He had decided to wait tell the others got settled before he would train with the remote.

Teer absent-mindedly stroked the large, white scar on her face with the fingers of her left hand as she contemplated Lana's response.
Communication had always been a problem with her Padawans. She was the severe schoolmaster, the stern instructor rather than the doting mother. Sometimes she was hard to approach, and usually only seen as hard to approach. But perhaps to Sirius she seemed so, or perhaps he was embarrassed by his loss.
Teer was still touchy about that incident. While the mission was hailed as a success by others, she saw the cost as all too high. But she wasn't disappointed in her Padawan, and maybe he didn't see that her discomfort came from herself and not from him.
There was indeed a failure to communicate here, and she promised herself to rectify that as soon as this mission was over.
"He is worthy of Knighthood," Teer said softly. "I will make him see it. Soon as I can. In the meantime, provide him as much support as you can."
With that, Master Ka turned to Ashla and affectionately scratched the bird on its neck. Her conversation was ended.
[End?]

Lana, content that she had told Master Ka enough, got up from her seat and bowed slightly.
"As you wish Master."
The Echani then proceeded to hall with the pair of identical doors that Gharrask had just entered. She, sensing it was empty, entered the room to the left. The accommodations, like most of the Jedi sort, were spartan, lacking the comforts of modern society. There was a pair of single beds, a desk, a footlocker, and a few other standard pieces of hardware.
With a sigh, Lana re-wrapped herself in the brown outer robe and seated herself on one of the beds. She closed her eyes and reached out in the Force, doing her best to focus.
This was her first mission since her readmission to the Jedi Order, and it was in her best interest not to screw it up. She had a duty, and she would fulfill that duty.
Oddly, Lana though of Sirius. The boy, or man rather, had among her thoughts a lot lately. She tried to push such...emotional thoughts out of her mind, but to no avail. With a sigh, the silver-haired padawan went back to here vain meditation.
